Kinda fun to stroll through and look at the items for about 30 minutes or so. A big warehouse with about 4 or 5 long aisles going all the way to the back, but broken up into about 3 sections per aisle to step over to the next aisle. A number of signs indicate that no photos/videos, nor price comparisons allowed, so I guess there is some issue with that here. A bit fun to look at enormous sizes of everything, but in terms of prices, it's not all that cheap. A mix of well known brand products as well as generic brand items specifically made for Canton Foods, but because the warehouse is stocked with large cases of items, there isn't room to have a number of choices in brand in most of the items.
Just randomly checking the pricing on a number of items like Sriracha, fish sauce, taro root, frozen King crab, cinnamon powder, it is actually more expensive here than at other retail supermarkets. Maybe it is simpler for restaurants and people arranging large gatherings to have this place as a one-stop shop for bulk items, but I think that for the average person, it doesn't seem to make sense to get overexcited here and buy in bulk when it isn't cheaper. I was somewhat interested in a large bag of Thai coffee for $2.30 or so, and an olive oil bottle (appeared to be rather liquidy for oil) for $5.60, but just left without a purchase.
A couple of times, a worker on a forklift just tried to whiz past me. Although it wasn't exactly dangerous or anything for me, I found it rather rude.
I wouldn't count out another visit to this place, just to wander around and look at stuff I didn't see the first time. There was a big tin can of Madras curry that seemed pretty reasonable in price.
