During our stay at the fabulous Hilton São Paulo Morumbi, we visited Canvas Bar twice, once for after-dinner cocktails and on our last evening in São Paulo before heading to the airport. Both were enjoyable experiences, with the bar's very high ceilings and stylish furnishings providing a comfortable setting, somewhere you want to spend some time winding down before calling it a night (which, in São Paulo, is always well after midnight).
The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the bartender takes great care in making his cocktails - watching him was very much like watching a chef in their kitchen, with an intent gaze and practiced hand crafting each drink.
Our "pre-hour-long drive to GRU" dinner at the bar was quite good, with two of us having the Hilton Burger, with the high-quality beef burger sitting on top of stacked lettuce, tomato, bacon, and egg. (I skipped the egg, but one of my friends had it with the egg and really enjoyed it.) All of this is bookended by a fresh brioche-type bun with the restaurant's logo branded on the top of the bun. Very, very nice.
One of my friends opted for the chicken Caesar, which he said was one of the best Caesar salads he's had. He orders them quite a bit, so I take that as high praise.
There's a huge televisions screen over the bar - actually nine screens in a 3x3 pattern - and, with our being Sunday, an NFL game was on the screen. Apparently, a lot of Brazilians very much enjoy American football as well as what the rest of the world calls 'futbol' (soccer). Who knew? There's also a grand piano in the corner, where a gentleman started playing a couple of romantic songs just before proposing to his fiancé!
Canvas Bar is amongst the many lovely features of the Hilton São Paulo Morumbi and is definitely worth checking out if you want to stay on-property for lunch or dinner, or enjoy a nice cocktail after a long day of sightseeing or a nice dinner out on the town.
