"Doughnut Dollies might be in the spotlight here, but don’t sleep on Canvas. The cozy cafe has uber fluffy pancakes available in orders of two, four, or six. No matter the order, try one of the cafe’s toppings like brown butter apples." - Lia Picard, Eater Staff

This place was very clean and had a nice decor. The food was good. I ordered a cafe moca which was delicious. They have options for breakfast and lunch and have donuts on the lower level. They also have alternatives for milk. It was easy to find parking but on a busy day it could be difficult. Some of the staff members were friendly while others were a bit serious. You can visit the place with family and friends. Overall, it was a nice experiences.

I ate here a couple of days in a row because it was convenient to work. I was only in Marietta a couple of days, but it was so nice to have a spot with great menu options. Polite employees. Fast. Clean. The food was fresh and delicious. The only thing i would say is that for the cost, the soup size should be bigger. In the photo, it looks bigger than it is.

Google
This is a relaxed and atmospheric cafe where you can chill, eat tasty food, and enjoy good coffee. I went for breakfast, and was amazed at the size of the French toast! I added caramel apple topping which was sweet enough that it didn’t need syrup. The biscuits are fluffy, cake-like, and super tender! It was great with a little spread of butter. Come by for a delicious meal at a good price.

Google
Hubby and I had a day full of errands ahead of us, and we picked Canva as our starting point to fuel us up. We arrived at nearly noon on a Saturday, the dining area was pretty empty, but I bet this place is busy on a weekday with the proximity to the hospital and local businesses. Ordering was simple and easy and staff was very cheery and helpful. We got the El Burrito and the M.E.C. (Meat Egg Cheese) sandwich. The burrito was tasty, but the ingredients weren’t spread evenly inside, so you could get a big bite of pork (delicious) in one go, and then all veggies in the next. The MEC I got on toast with sausage. I’m not a fan of the type of sausage chosen. It was two circle paddies on eggs. The eggs themselves – fabulous! The sandwich presentation left a little to be desired, but was absolutely tasty! Overall great breakfast spot with friendly staff. I look forward to going back and trying out a few more of their menu items. @kplusds

Google
I've had a number of items here. Everything I've tried is delicious. Chef Jose knows what he's doing. He and Chris have crafted a great menu, and I can't wait to eat my way through it. I highly recommend the breakfast burger. The FRIES are insane. Stop on by and support a good local business.

Google
We had the. Cubano & fries, it was real pork & fresh fresh ham ; I wanted more of a panini style but the bread was soft & good; we also got a double cheese burger w/fries the patty wasn’t seasoned enough but it was juice & the fries were good; will go back & try breakfast

Google
Great place for breakfast, lunch, or brunch. I really like the chicken sandwich, but they make a mean breakfast biscuit and omelette. Good coffee bar. Service is usually quick and polite. They do a good job with online orders, too. They have a fancy doughnut shoppe in the basement too if that's your thing. Only thing I would change is the parking... It's kind of a small lot and you might have an issue finding a spot during peak hours.

Stephen Moss

Google
Food is great, just a touch expensive for basic dishes. Convenience charge.. as easy walk from Kennestone. Visit and think you'll enjoy as well. Clean, nice people and great service.. all things I treasure. Had two meals there last week and enjoyed them both. Biscuits here are very good!

Tim M.

Yelp
Good food and good service. I love their scones. They also own Donut Dollie right down stairs. Yum

Ally ..

Yelp
So glad this place is closed. As an ex worker this wasn't a good place to work unless you were family or an family friend. They had favorites and it would be there kids/ kids friends that worked there. I was cashier/barista/ expo/ busser. Under paid for being overstressed. They cost of the food there wasn't worth it for the quality/ taste of the food.

Sara B.

Yelp
I've been to Canvas a lot of times and normally both the food and the service are very good. The baked goods are normally pretty incredible and the coffee is good (I prefer their darker roast but both are tasty). Donut Dollies is downstairs and can be a fun stop for a very good, fresh donut too.

Yelp
I met my cousin and her husband for a late lunch on Sunday. We had two separate, sequential checks. My cousins' order came out before mine, and they were halfway through their meal before I went up to the counter to find out where mine was. The two orders after mine were already prepared and they hadn't started mine yet. Also, the prep worker with blonde hair was eating food with his fingers. I'm sure that's a violation of the health department code. There was no apology for the delay in my order. The fries with my order and a tater tots with their order were both semi warm. I had ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was probably the worst one I've ever had. My cousin apologized, but I told her it was not necessary. I don't think either one of us will ever return to this establishment.

Keia R.

Yelp
This was a nice place for my Saturday morning breakfast. This place was very clean and the staff were very welcoming. They are connected to that donut business there, so they have fresh baked good there as well. The breakfast was tasty for sure. Will be back soon!

Joan B.

Yelp
Ordered take out while visiting family at hospital. It was delicious, ordered the tater tots & the portions were generous

Callan B.

Yelp
Delicious food! I love getting lunch or breakfast at Canvas and it's a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy the weather... when it's not too hot

India N.

Yelp
The food is decent and the service is great. I came here to have breakfast after an appointment across the street. It's a large cafe with a full breakfast and lunch menu, meaning they serve more than pastries and small sandwiches. I went with the basic breakfast platter with roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, a biscuit with sausage gravy, and chicken sausage. I added a side of cheese grits and blistered peppers. I thought the price of the platter was fair but the side of grits was $5 which was a lot for the small bowl of grits I get. The grits were creamy and perfectly balanced with salt, pepper, and butter. I did not need to add anything extra. The eggs were fluffy and I added a little salt and pepper. The biscuit was soft and fluffy too, I usually don't like biscuits but this one was actually pretty good. The gravy was too runny, it's not thick at all but it has good flavor, the biscuit and gravy together was a good combo. The chicken sausage was not great, I wish I got bacon instead but mixed with everything else it was okay. The potato's were not balanced in flavor, some were salty and some were fine. They look better than they actually tasted. And finally the blistered peppers gave the plate a nice kick. All in all it was satisfying and I would definitely go back if I'm in the area and would love to try their lunch. The ambiance was chill and quiet, and there was plenty of seating.

Yelp
I stopped in for an order of pancakes. I waited ~25 minutes, when they finally arrived they looked like they were just thrown on the plate, they were served upside down (the browned side was facing down and the white side facing up looking as if they were not cooked, and with no syrup. This tipping beforehand really has to stop because tipping for this is ridiculous. Btw, while waiting I looked closely at my receipt, which I rarely do, and noticed they add a charge of 3.5% for using a credit card. To their credit it is disclosed on their menu but I never previously noticed it. If I ever go again I'll just reduce my tip by the cc fee ... shame on them for taking $ out of the pockets of their hard-working staff.

Mark G.

Yelp
Overall, it was just ok. Not bad, but nothing great for the overall price. The Ruben sandwich was ordinary and the chili was a little sweet for me. However, the truffle fries were amazing and worth the visit. Came here on a Saturday for lunch. Most diners ate breakfast. Maybe I should try that if I every get back here.

R H.

Yelp
The food was okay. The service, ambiance and (most importantly) cleanliness could be greatly improved. The self-serve drink area was very dirty. The dispensers for condiments were very dusty, the container with lemons did not look like it had been cleaned recently. Food took much longer than necessary for a 90% empty restaurant.

Ethan S.

Yelp
Used to be a gem but the last year this place is cutting corners ! Cold food , the bakery is always dry or old ! The chicken circuit sucks ! Biscuit was frozen and the chicken was hot . Damn I'm pissed how crappy this place has gotten smh

Katura B.

Yelp
Visited Canvas on a weekend, for the first time in a long time! Canvas used to be my go to breakfast spot in the mornings on my way to work (pre-covid), the roasted potato's, 1 egg and avocado or the pancakes, were my staple go to's! They also have really good coffee & Zucchini Bread !!! This is my first time back since covid took over and Canva has changed (understandably). They have shortened the menu & the dessert display has less items than it used to :(. I was sad to see that the pancakes were no longer on the menu, but lucky for me, this day, they were the breakfast special!!! Win! Lol I ordered 3 pancakes and a side of chicken sausage and my Fiancé had the Southwest Omelette! Just like I remembered, nice fluffy airy delicious pancakes!!! *insert heart eye emoji* lol he enjoyed his omelette & potato's! If you do nothing else, get the roasted potato's they're really delicious!!! And if you see the Zucchini bread in the display, GET IT! You won't regret it!!

Yelp
While I'm in Marietta running errands I drove by Canvas Cafe & Bakery so I decided to stop in to see what they had to offer. The barista was very friendly and made suggestions about coffee and that they could make the French toast vegan. Located off of Cherokee St within walking distance of Wellstar. There is parking in the back that they share with Dollies Donuts. The decor was very cute, clean, modern cafe style with plenty of seating for dining in. Everyone was practicing social distancing, all staff was wearing masks and gloves. They also immediately wiped down tables and cleaned up after every customer left. Pumpkin vanilla latte with almond milk doesn't have much of a pumpkin or even vanilla flavor tastes more like a bland latte Pumpkin banana bread very moist French toast with berries with brioche bread very good Grits they were ok very creamy but lacked flavor

Karen Q.

Yelp
Staff was exceptionally nice, food was average. The service was fast and the portions are big. I probably wouldn't ever crave to eat here again.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
Wondering if Canvas got bought out? Went this morning and got the avocado toast and was unimpressed. $14 later I had toast with avocado spread. Lackluster.

Jessica H.

Yelp
Just went to this place. It's 2:20, door says they close at 4, website says they close at 3pm. I walked in, no one greeted me..the lady walks up to the register after continuing to clean for a few minutes and says just so you know we only have cold sandwiches and salads our cook top is closed for the day. I said "oh wow" 40 mins before you close? She says "yeah it's already cleaned" she wasn't nice at all ....soooo yeah would not recommend! Terrible service! Added a pic of the hours below!

Lauren A.

Yelp
Phenomenal every time! Love their market salad. Highly recommended. It does get really busy on the weekends so order online ahead of time if you're doing pickup.

Cheryl R.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito is fantastic. The rest of the breakfast is pretty basic, but still good. Not a fan of the Grits . Cute hip little place and there is a donut shop downstairs, but beware once they're out of donuts for the day they are out.

Christina R.

Yelp
Food was not good. Service was not very good either. I found hair in my food and my sausage was dry & cold. My boyfriend got the Reuben, he said it was very plain. I got the "American South" meal and was really looking forward to my bowl of chicken sausage gravy that I paid for. The lady brought me my food and walked away. I had to call her back and kindly ask for my chicken sausage gravy, only for her to say they don't have any. So I paid for something that I couldn't get... then I asked her if I can get fruits to replace that and she told me "no" straight to my face and walked off. Highly disappointed. Also be prepared, the Wi-Fi does not even work in there. I will not be returning to Canvas. I do not think it's worth the money.

Ernest F.

Yelp
My first time here at this restaurant an it was great...the atmosphere was peaceful an calm...great menu selections...we ordered the pancakes with bacon...sausage & egg omelette...cheese grits...cheese eggs...wheat toast...everything was great an delicious...we will definitely be back again to try the rest of the menu.....

Mark L.

Yelp
It's a beautiful space in a great location. Very nice people and good service. Too bad the food was inedible. We ordered the chicken biscuit and a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. Whoever made the biscuits has no idea what they are doing, way overworked the dough resulting in dense tacky biscuits that just crumbled to dust when you tried to take a bite. The chicken was more batter than chicken, and greasy and the white gravy was cold. The eggs were cooked fine but not seasoned at all. The bright spot was the potatoes, good but HUGE. The latte was thin and tepid, and they didn't serve decaf at all. $40 wasted.

Shaquisha M.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible, i have gone to this restaurant for years and its gotten worse every time. The food is always cold. I got a salad with chili and the salad dressing was sour and expired, it looked like jello. Completely disgusting i will never go back. ALSO THE CHILI was completely cold.

Rell R.

Yelp
It's okay Nice sit In location Food is ok. I enjoyed the avocado toast when it was regular toast. Now they put it on a bigger chabata bread .. it's way to big OVER PRICED for breakfast

Ashley L.

Yelp
The food actually tastes good. The value is why I do not give it 5 stars. It is quite overpriced for what you actually get on some plates. My avocado toast was once piece of bread and it was over $11. My husband got the "unoriginal" with slaw for $14.50 I believe. It was pretty much a chick-Fil-a sandwich with slaw. In addition, the prices on the menu are not actually what it rings up to be in the register on several things. That was strange... and the service is not very friendly on several occasions. I sadly left hungry after leaving. We will have to find another place to have brunch/lunch.

Tamara R.

Yelp
I frequent Canvas often, but unfortunately, like so many other establishments and their quality has definitely gone downhill since covid. So, hopefully they will see this review and put a little bit more effort into quality control and keeping the same standard that so many of their customers are used to. Attached are pictures of a Cobb salad that I order often but this time they decided to put bacon with congealed fat on the top of my salad. It's not that hard to fry up some bacon crumbles the day of or right at the moment and put it on top of the salad. I will say, though, when I called to request a refund, they were very accommodating. But, the lady offered no apologies at all.

Tawanna J.

Yelp
I had always passed this place while traveling to and from work. I was never inclined to stop, but yhis particular day my coworkers invited me out to lunch. This was a great decision. The menu is simple and to the point. We were seated outside. The time it took from ordering my food to table delivery was brief. I had arrived late and my associates were already eating. The taste was good and i wasntbable to eat it all so half was saved for later. This sandwich had bacon, turkey, egg, avacado, mayo(i got it without), lettuce&tomatoe on a sourdough bread. Just delicious! I will definately return for another meal.

Cara ..

Yelp
Beautiful deck to eat breakfast, brunch or lunch on - healthy menu. My fav was the alvocado toast super yum!

Michael G.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly and helpful, service was quick and food is awesome. Coffee is fresh ground and very flavorful. Can't remember when I have had food this good and I eat out almost every day.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Starting off with the service, it's pretty good not over the top but they're very friendly! Secondly the food is just not worth it at all. I went this morning with my friends for breakfast and it ended up being 60$ for a chicken biscuit and 2 small cups of tomato soup and half a sandwhich which none were good... the tomato soup tasted like straight up spaghetti sauce, the portables grilled cheese barley had cheese and a thick chunky of mushroom. the chicken biscuits had no flavor and tasted purely like grease not a spec of seasoning. Over priced lower than panera quality food. the seating is nice they have an outdoor area which is nice in the morning! That's about it.

Denise D.

Yelp
tl;dr Food was great. Delivery on time! E X P E R I E N C E Placed a large order, via call, as a small business supporting another small business while donating to the hospital. We wanted to support by ordering directly from this restaurant, rather than using a delivery service. The call order was pretty good. The lady took my order quickly, with succinct recommendations. Her demeanor was very blunt though. When I asked if she could do anything special, to jointly support the hospital with us, she told us our order for 40 people, each time, was too small; "we normally get orders for 400 people." But anyway, I appreciated that the owner was happy to deliver the order for us. F O O D Individual lunch boxes of sandwich/salad + chips + cookies For Mondays order; 12pm delivery Chicken Bacon Avocado Marchella Tree Hugger (vegan wrap) Canvas Salad ..... Goat cheese all on the side. (requested and canvas said they would but it was not met) For Wednesdays order; 12pm delivery Helena Marchella Tree hugger (vegan wrap) Canvas Salad ..... Goat cheese all on the side. (requested and canvas said they would but it was not met) The sandwiches were very good - portions just enough for you to feel very full. D E L I V E R Y Requested to be delivered at noon on a Monday. It was delivered on time and I received a call beforehand stating they were on the way. P R I C E About $950

Yelp
This place is a great cafe spot in suburban Marietta to work, study, have a one-on-one, or meet a group. It's comfortable to just get a tea/coffee but also has a robust enough menu to get a full meal. Food: I only got a drink, but I will say the meal at the table behind me looked delicious with perfectly poached eggs and fun-looking homestyle potatoes. I got the ginger turmeric tea and added lemon and it wasn't exciting at all :( It was just warm water with a slight ginger flavor, but nothing that made my mouth come alive like you'd expect from the name. I know it's a small sample size, but the disappointing drink is the only reason I dropped a star when rating this place. Service: All the server told me when I asked about tea recommendations was that the choice I asked about was popular, but she didn't guide me through the interesting flavors the way I would expect at a cute coffee shop. Other than that, she was nice! Atmosphere: Honestly this cafe has an amazing, trendy cafe environment where you feel you can come for just about anything you'd want from a coffee shop PLUS a meal if you so desire. The menu is fun and the overall scene is inviting. Parking: The parking lot is pretty tiny and a liiittle tight, but it wasn't a problem for us to find a spot.

Pbert B.

Yelp
Used to be a great option for meal in the area (see earlier review). Prices have gone up, portions and quality has gone down. But, today, noted a charge for using a credit card. That was final straw. Sayonara Canvas. There are other options.

Laura M.

Yelp
Used to love coming here for the food, but recently I've had multiple issues with food I've ordered. Such as hair being in food, my salad having bad lettuce in it, and fries being over cooked. I keep coming back hoping it will improve but unfortunately I haven't seen any improvement thus far.

Lindsay R.

Yelp
My husband got MEC which was very large and he really enjoyed it. The biscuit looked huge and appeared to be homemade. He also said the grits were very creamy and appeared to have 2 types of meal used. I got the BBLT which was just ok. The brioche bread was very thin to the point that it didn't even taste like brioche and was slightly burnt. The aioli was thin so it did not contribute much to the overall flavor. Bacon was prepared well. The roasted potatoes were cut larger so although the seasoning in them was fine, they weren't crispy. For the price I think the portions were appropriate. I saw some pancakes at another table and they looked good! We would definitely return to try more menu items

Alex B.

Yelp
Randomly drove by and decided to check them out, sooo glad I stopped! My sister and I ordered the French toast with raspberry sauce and avocado toast and both were amazing! Both were incredibly filling and we only made it through half of each. Will totally be returning soon and trying more!

Amanda C.

Yelp
The prices here aren't cheap, it was going to be $20 for one sandwich and a 1/2 order fries. I ordered our food at 12:33pm. For me and my 3 year old. We sat waiting until 1pm. I went in to ask where our food was, and apparently the order never got back to the kitchen. They were just starting. Needless to say we didn't have time to wait another 15 minutes so I asked for a refund. That also took another 5 minutes. So we were here from 12:30pm to 1:08 and walked away with NO food.

Grace E.

Yelp
So good! Simple good food with some delicious variations. You can find healthy and savory foods here. Perfect lunch spot.

Hugh S.

Yelp
I have tried for years to like this place, but it always disappoints. Very expensive, terrible parking. Good grits but sausage the density of a hockey puck. Both Red Eyed Mule & Reville are much better.

Nakema G.

Yelp
I stumbled across Canvas this morning & decided to check it out after reading good Yelp reviews & seeing all of the nice food pics. I'm glad I did the food is really good & there are lots of different options. I decided to try the BLT and subbed the fried egg for egg whites (upcharge of $2) that's a little pricey some places will sub them for free. The sandwich was so good! I like that they use thick applewood bacon & a special mayo. The bread wasn't hard and toasted perfectly. For my side I had the roasted potatoes with onions. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly & complemented my sandwich well. As I was waiting for my food I was looking at other tables get their food and everything looked very good. I will definitely return if I am in the area.

Nata R.

Yelp
I went at 1:20pm and they had the grills closed and also no hot coffee. They close at 2:00pm so there is no reason why they should be closing everything down. If it was 1:50pm that would have been more understanding. They were very rude to Senior citizen guests that were in front of us. The lady with the Monroe piercing made them get up to get their iced coffee. When the general manager came she was very rude. She has a curly bob hair do. She said that she is closing early because she works too much. I know the world is short staffed but they were initially rude to the older guests in front of us and not apologetic at all. I used to love coming here but this set of staff that I have not seen before are not professional at all. I recommend going to Good Kitchen where they have better staff and service.

Kourtney S.

Yelp
Came here with some friends, ordered the bagel & French toast. Food is mediocre & kinda expensive for it to be average quality

Sasha T.

Yelp
Tl;Dr: Great place for food, great place to sit and chill with your friends. I love coming here from time to time to grab their bomb breakfast and hang out and study. My favorite thing to get here is the Gouda omelette with bacon (because bacon) with their even more bomb potatoes. I love potatoes. I named my dog Potato. This is one of the best potatoes I've have. Their roasted potatoes have a little bit of onions, it is crispy, I can just get an order of just that. I'm always stuff before it is time for me to get their baked goods. But they look amazing, always. Their cafe is super cute. I love their wood slab tables. I've always had great service. I haven't had anything else on the menu, nor have I had their lunch food. I'll be back. This is a solid place.

Amanda B.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this restaurant! The staff is super friendly and enthusiastic, and the food is so delicious. The sandwiches are so on point. 10/10would recommend.

Joanne T.

Yelp
The service was decent. WARNING: The menu is inappropriately labeled. Some items are marked vegan, but the food items are not vegan. For example, their breads all contain milk. I ended up getting a Thai chicken salad with raisins, almonds, tomato and lettuce and left off the bread. The food was good, but I was disappointed on the mislabeled menu.

Sydney C.

Yelp
I had the best breakfast food I've had in a restaurant in years everything was divine. I also bought brownies, wedding cookies and chicken curry salad to go. Delicious

Matt G.

Yelp
Canvas cafe was delicious and super affordable. The portions were massive as well. I got the half sandwich and salad and it was so filling! I got the chicken salad on crossaint and it was amazing! The salad was insanely good also. I had a side of quinoa as well. It was good but on the dry side. The wait was a little long but I really enjoyed it here and would most definitely go back.

Joy L.

Yelp
I can't with this place. After the pandemic the quality of food and service has drastically gone down. arrived at exactly 2:23 and was craving a burger on a Tuesday. I was told they turned the flat top off and they couldn't make them. When I asked for future reference when do they turn off the at top she said 2:30, even though it was 2:25 by then. Why would you loose on business and close half the menu items 30 minutes to close anyways? I was told to clean it. This place use to be amazing.

Theresa E.

Yelp
AMAZING is an understatement. We stopped here on a local recommendation for Sunday Brunch and it was worth driving a little bit in the wrong direction in which we were heading. We were a group of 6 and we had a little bit of everything and literally no one wasn't raving. So I'd say order what you want and likely you will love it!
