The 20 Best Restaurants In San Juan, Puerto Rico - San Juan - The Infatuation

"Canvas is located on the rooftop of Don Rafa Boutique Hotel and Residences in Miramar and has floor-to-ceiling glass windows, so spectacular views of the Condado Lagoon are the name of the game. The inside is bright and airy and has become a popular place for brunch since opening in early 2023. Kick things off with a cocktail, like their jalapeño margarita or the seasonal sangria, before moving on to some corn fritters. If you come to this bright, airy spot for weekend brunch, you'll find morning standards like egg plates, pancakes, and benedicts." - adriana silva, tiffany yannetta, mariana trabanino

Service was ok, great view! Drinks were not made with the correct ingredients, like the mojito didn’t have yerbabuena, nor limes, nor the proportions. First mimosa was properly made, 2nd one was mostly juice, little to no prosecco. We had to request limes because the ceviche was raw, not cooked in it. We ended un paying almost $12.00 for 6 glasses of gas water that was probably from the gun, there was no brand water. Not a very pleasant experience.

Everything was great until the waiter came (great guy by the way) and told us that he needs to charge for a cocktail ($16) that my wife ordered and didn’t like it. We never complained about the drink, my wife didn’t drink it and the waiter came and asked if she didn’t liked and she said no it was a little to strong, and he said (as any restaurant in this category would do) no worries and took it, we said if he was sure and he said yes. We order a $180 bottle of wine that was pretty good. At the end we ordered dessert and the waiter came with and extra dessert complementary and said that he brought the extra one because he wasn’t able to discount the $16.00 drink so gave us and extra dessert (which we didn’t eat because we already ordered the dessert that we like. I and staying at the hotel for a couple of nights and was planning to go back for dinner again but after this I rather go elsewhere where $16 is not as important as keeping a client happy.

Wow. Today I had the distinct pleasure of having brunch at Canvas (first time) and it was perfect. The restaurant is visually stunning. You can’t beat the view and the building that houses the restaurant is a really gorgeous boutique hotel. The ambiance is just amazing. The service is also stellar. We were served by Paola and Sergio. The take service to the next level. The are knowledgeable, personable and provided us with perfect service. The food was truly excellent. To begin we had the complimentary homemade croissants with orange butter and the coconut milk cream cereal. Both were the perfect way to start our brunch! We then had the ceviche (10/10), the egg roll (10/10) and the croqueta (10/10). We followed that with the pernil sandwich (10/10) and the Mallorca Chicken Sandwich (10/10). I literally cannot think of anything I didn’t love! As a foodie, I can tell you that I have very high expectations of restaurants and this place did not disappoint. I will be back… again and again!

Google
So glad we just happen to have stayed in the hotel Canvas is in. We honestly would’ve never found it! We went for dinner and their Sunday brunch so I’ll separate the reviews: Dinner: was absolutely delicious!! There was nothing we didn’t like. To match, the service was amazing and very attentive Sea Bass Filet 6/5 - A MUST HAVE, this was probably our favorite dish of the night. Duck Stir Fy 4.5/5 - only reason not a 5 is because we think the sauce they add is a little salty. But we still took to go so we could finish later. It is a lot of food so we actually shared it! Tuna Tartar 4/5 - felt like the rice overpowered the actual tuna. It was VERY crunchy Short Rib Potstickers 5/5 - so much flavor and absolutely delicious Brunch: hate that it’s only one day of the week. Luckily we made reservations and were able to attend. French Toast 4/5 - I’m not a huge lemon fan and that is the main component of the dish. However if you like lemon zest and flavoring, you love this! Mariachi 5/5 - I took a risk with this one and so glad I did! Steak & Eggs 4/5 - asked for medium rare and got medium. Otherwise seasoning and flavor was there All in all: definitely would come back! Make sure you make reservations. And as somebody that doesn’t drink I appreciated the fact that their mocktails were just as good and flavorful as their normal cocktails

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and enjoyed the entire evening. We were so impressed with the atmosphere and view! We were greeted with a glass of champagne, had 2 wonderful servers, enjoyed complimentary bites from the chef and all the food was delicious

Excellent food, outstanding service! Maya our Waitress was an absolute gem. Thank you so much for making my birthday special! I absolutely recommend the pan seared seabass and vanilla ice-cream.

Google
Premium prices, but the food and service is outstanding. Very nice rooftop views of San Juan and Condado. We stayed at Condado Plaza which was a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurant. Door to the hotel/restaurant was locked, but a staff member quickly opened the door to provide access. The octopus and short rib egg rolls were tremendous as were the specialty drinks.

Yelp
Trendy restaurant on the rooftop of the Don Rafa Boutique Hotel in Miramar. Went for a girls night out with my sisters in law. We had a very fun night. The view is spectacular and the food is very good. My favorite was the carpaccio. We also had the ceviche and dumplings, all good. For dinner I had the New York strip. Not my favorite. It was too tough. I got a taste of the filet mignon and it was excellent. I should have ordered that instead. They have a duck for two which was amazing. I would like to return with my husband for a date night.

Yelp
Canvas is a winner, top notch restaurant dishing out absolutely delicious, amazing, and extremely delectable flavorful food. It sits on top of the Don Rafa Boutique Hotel and has beautiful views. The service is the best, you are waited on by a staff that is friendly and professional and always wearing a smile. Food, What unique appetizer's mini beef Wellington, short rib potstickers, short rib egg rolls... all outstanding and fresh. Mains Charred Grilled Prawns done perfectly Skirt steak risotto with goat cheese, a winner Lastly Angus NY Steak , mouth watering All desserts are made in house and the Keylime pie is not to be missed. I Love this Restaurant and I will definitely return one day. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. This is A true Gem
