Google
100% worth it! So glad we visited during our short stay in Santa Barbara. Quick 15 minutes from downtown. It’s a one hour tour and worth every second. The owner takes you through the female alpacas first where you get to free them. Each person gets a bowl of pellets and spreads out to feed their alpaca. She then takes you through the male ones to feed with carrots. There are some llamas there as well along with a goat, sheep, water buffalo, and peacocks. Roaming around all the beautiful animals was amazing. Such personalities. We loved it! We were surprised how many Santa Barbarians don’t know about this place. We want to bring the whole family back!

Google
What a joyful experience! I’m glad we took the time to visit Canzelle Alpaca Farm. It brightened my day to meet, feed, pet & pose for pictures with their alpacas along with the other animals they have there like chickens, sheep, goats, a water buffalo, llamas, farm cats + peacocks! Our tour was towards the end of the day at 4pm in December, which was great because the farm has a great view of the ocean. We got to enjoy the sunset on their gorgeous property during our tour. The staff is so welcoming & kind. They were very happy & willing to answer any questions. The alpacas were so cute, gentle & soft! The farm is just 15 minutes from Santa Barbara & 20 minutes from Ventura. Definitely worth paying a visit! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Wow, the alpaca tour was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had (and I’ve had many wildlife encounters and been to many zoos and sanctuaries around the world). The alpacas were so adorable, fluffy, and friendly. They graze in a huge open space and will be eager to nibble on the pellets :) You can also bring a cute souvenir back home from the gift shop! I can not wait to go back again. Thank you so much for this incredible experience! Highly recommend to anyone who is visiting California! -Sonny

Google
My family and I had a wonderful time at Canzelle Alpacas. The tour was well-organized and our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the alpacas. We learned a lot about these gentle creatures and even got to interact with them up close. The farm itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the surrounding area. We highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a unique and memorable outing.

Google
Our kids absolutely loved feeding and petting the alpacas (there was a one-month old baby that was adorable!!). We also saw peacocks, chickens, and a water Buffalo! We decided to stay for a picnic with the ocean as backdrop. The staff was warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. Overall, a fantastic experience for kids and adults.

Google
4 pm tour on a Saturday afternoon is the perfect tour time. The farm is a happy thriving place with the most genuine tour guides. The alpacas are at peace there. The views and sunset were absolutely stunning!

Google
This place is incredible! If you are in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area, definitely stop by at the Canzelle Alpaca Farm. It is an hour full of alpaca cuteness overload. The experience will definitely leave you smiling for days!

🦙This endearing alpaca farm in the Carpinteria countryside is worth a day trip! I took my daughter and her friend here for lots of fluffy alpaca cuddles & kisses. They also have a few other animals and a charming gift store. We will come here again - it was a hit! You can pair it with a Carpinteria City beach visit, stroll along Linden Ave and enjoy a casual lunch.

Yelp
so many alpacas & llamas here!! & so many more beautiful animals!! we learned so much about the history of how this place came to be & the backstory & all the different animals here! the owner even stopped by to talk more about how she came to have this beautiful place!! we were initially warned that some of them can get mean & spit or even kick so we were so wary and distant at first, but then our guide taught us that we can leave carrots in our mouths to feed them and kiss them & they were so gentle!! i had such an amazing time here & would definitely recommend this activity to everyone!!

Tran N.

Yelp
The alpacas and llamas are living the best life here! They are so well loved and the staff are great at taking care for them. We booked the sunset tour started at 4 pm. The photos came out so great. Thank you Karen for helping us taking the photos and sharing many amazing insights about the herd and the farm. We got to meet the owner of the farm, she's really sweet and great to talk to. Thank you Tara and Humberto for making our trip memorable! Highly recommend the farm tour to meet these cute and sweets alpacas for hugs and kisses.

Clariska I.

Yelp
This place is unreal!! We booked our tour for the 4pm one, expecting at least a handful of people with us, however, it was just the two of us, what a great start right!! Then the tour guide, i forgot her name :( , but she is super duper nice and welcoming. She explained the history of the place, names of each alpacas, and gave us carrots to feed the alpacas (one spat at me tho, she's new so I will let that cutie slide hehe). At the end of the tour,we get to watch the sunset while the peacocks (yes, they have peacocks) and the alpacas stared at us. The owner, very very nice lady, came to talk and greet us as well. This place deserves 6 stars rather than 5. The ambiance, the people, the place, everything is so amazing, 11/10 recommended !!!!!

Karen C.

Yelp
Came here with our 2 and 4 year old on a Saturday morning and they had so much fun being surrounded by alpacas. The kids were able to pet and feed the alpacas throughout the tour. There is even a surprise animal at the end! (Maybe not so much if other reviewers mentioned it already) There is a small gift shop upstairs with a balcony overlooking SB with an amazing view - don't miss this part!! An hour was perfect! We will probably come back again when I've kids are older too.

Carmen L.

Yelp
Was looking for stuffs to do in Santa Barbara and this place popped up on Yelp and my kid was interested in checking it out and good that I checked their website before booking our hotel bc I found out they only open Friday to Sunday limited time with online reservations. We adjusted our vacation to stop by here...the online reservation was easy and you will get your tickets and confirmation after paying. The tour was not cheap, but it's a fun event and great memories with your family. The staff here were also friendly and informative. The tour lasted about an hour long and they also have a little gift shop to check out. It's such a fun and unique experience near Santa Barbara.

Ian F.

Yelp
We really appreciated the way Melissa and Humberto spoke of the care for the alpacas and how the farm prioritized the safety of humans and alpacas. So it made sense that the tour group was fairly small, about 20 of us. Everyone got to interact with the animals closely and learn about them. It was such a nice and relaxing experience. It felt great to support this small operation which has a great deal of love and respect for the animals.

Amanda R.

Yelp
As an Angelino, I struggle with new things to do with kiddos. Petting zoo, regular zoo, zip line, hiking. Yes, there's so much to do in LA, but with the crowds, driving and cost, finding new things for me, is hard. I happened across Canzelle Aplapacas on Google maps. OMG, if you are heading up Santa Barbara way with family... worth it. It's an hour tour where you get in the penned in field with alpacas. You get to pet them, feed them nibbles, and take pictures. The view is gorgeous. I recommend 4pm for the sunset. FYI, the people were super nice and really knowledgeable. The the alpacas are sheared annually in mid-may. Get there early, parking is hilly. If someone is using a cane in wheel chair, you can go on the tour, it's pretty flat, there's uneven ground though.

MK S.

Yelp
Lots of fun to be had here! Get up close & personal with these amazing creatures. You're able to feed them carrots and pet them. An hour is the perfect timeframe.

Travis P.

Yelp
What an experience! All the alpacas are so adorable and definitely one hour is enough to get some good pictures and learn a lot about how alpacas live. You have to reserve online for $30 per person for an hour. The price helps take care of the animals so I'm all for helping keep these guys safe and fed. First half of the tour is hanging out with the female alpacas. They are separated from the males due to mating reasons. Some are a bit more feisty than others but you can find some that will let you stroke their neck and even take pictures. THEY ARE SO FLUFFY!! The second 30 minutes were my favorite where we were given a bucket of carrots and we got to feed the male alpacas. They all swarm you like a flock of hungry animals so you have to pick your favorite alpacas. A really fun experience and is worth trying out at least once! Wasn't too hard to find if you follow google maps but you do have to drive through a narrow road all the way up. Street parking is free, right next to the farm.

Daniella M.

Yelp
What a beautiful family experience to take this tour !! I signed my family up online the tour is one hour they do not accept walk-ins so that's really important to note. It goes by really quickly and it's a ton of fun. The two men that were leaving the tour were very informative. I love the connection they have with the animals. My son really enjoyed it as we all loved it !! We got to feed them pet them Overall it was really nice. I highly recommended and I will do it again anytime beautiful memories were created!! thank you. They also have a space by the gift shop where you could rent the tables and do like a little picnic which is super cute maybe next time I'll prepare better and bring food for picnic. If you are thinking about going, don't think twice and book as soon as possible as spots to fill up quickly.

Lauren C.

Yelp
This is SUCH a fun place to go with family and friends or significant others. It's super intimate and you get plenty of time hanging out with the animals (petting them, feeding them, taking pics with them, etc.) The staff is soo friendly and very funny. It's also very clear how much they care for and love the animals that they tend to. The money from the tickets goes back to the animals of course, and it feels like $30 well spent. I definitely want to go back again soon!

Craig W.

Yelp
5 stars? More like 10. Want to get up close and personal with alpacas? Yes, you do. They are gentle giants. They are not exactly warm and fuzzy animals like domesticated cats and dogs but most of them will let you pet them and/or get close to them. And you get to mingle with them, and feed them, and they are awesome. The farm, which includes about 25-30 alpacas, goats, an ENORMOUS water buffalo, and other animals, is located not far off the freeway in Carpinteria, just outside of Santa Barbara. This experience is good for both adults and kids although very small kids may not appreciate or understand the correct way to pet and touch the alpacas. You will pet and feed them and learn a lot about these charming animals. For an added fee, you can picnic on the property (they have tables nicely set up on the second floor of the barn, just outside the very cool gift shop). For the picnic, you bring your own food and drink. The view is spectacular. This is an outstanding, unique experience that I highly recommend. I could have stayed for hours hanging out with these most interesting animals.

Anthony A.

Yelp
Awesome family place. Came here with 2 little ones they both had an awesome time. My daughter was a little nervous at first, but she warmed up to the alpacas as time went by. The alpacas are so soft and friendly and the staff is so welcoming and accommodating. Prices are pretty reasonable too and they give military discount as well!

Ana M.

Yelp
Humberto and Rigo are amazing handlers.. the Alpacas love them and it shows.. We got to feed, pet and take pics with them. We learned so much about the Alpacas, Lamas, sheep goat, water buffalo and chickens.. they also have a cat.

Tom H.

Yelp
I pet and fed alpacas, llamas, goats, and a water buffalo. I'm happy. Cant ask for more. But wait! They even got a gift shop and the goods are sooooo soft!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Went on a tour here with my friends and we had so much fun! The alpacas were sweeties and the tour guide was so friendly. We had a blast feeding them carrots, and they are SO soft. We visited late spring so they were freshly sheared and looked so silly (but I think that made them so much more charming hahaha).

Miki S.

Yelp
We love driving up here to see the alpacas. This was our third time visiting, but we learn new things about the farm and the animals every time. The baby alpacas are always a treat to see and you can tell how well cared for the animals are. The scenic views and relaxing atmosphere make it a perfect getaway from the city.

Brooklyn B.

Yelp
We were driving to Santa Barbara and we found this cute little alpaca farm. It was $25 per person for a one hour tour of some of the farm. There was a little gift shop above the barn with everything from pens to clothes to little alpaca animals made of the fur from the alpacas. There was also a cute little cat that lived they named Charlie, who was so sweet and loved being pet. The alpacas were super cute and you got to go inside the pens and pet and feed them. We also got to feed a sheep, a goat and a water buffalo! This place was so cute. DEFINITELY recommend coming here if you are driving by. Can't wait to come back!

Jenny D.

Yelp
We loved our farm experience with the alpacas!! The tour was very informative and interesting. It was fun feeding the alpacas and posing for pics with them. I would definitely go again!

Natasha H.

Yelp
An amazing experience! Every employee was friendly and made sure everyone there had a memorable time. It was organized and lots of opportunities to interact with the alpacas.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
This place and its staff are incredible! We had such a lovely time. When we arrived for our tour, our toddler was throwing a huge tantrum due to being overtired and not sleeping much during his nap so we were a little worried at first but then much to our pleasant surprise, the staff immediately went out of their way to calm my son down and even let us 'lead' the tour so he can take a few moments to settle. Within a minute or less, my son was having such a fun time and was giggling while we fed the alpacas!! Throughout the tour, the staff even made sure my son was comfortable and that we were enjoying our stay. 10/10 recommend this place!

Michelle H.

Yelp
This was a magical experience for me and my son! The farm is so beautiful and the animals are gentle and amazing. Our guide made the experience even better. She was so knowledgeable and made the time even more special.

Derek F.

Yelp
We had to cut our trip short here because we need to be somewhere else and we needed to leave. This charming barn has a lot going on. They let you get face to face and pet the alpacas. They give you a tour inside deeper into the ranch. We skipped that tour because we needed the time. I would recommend it to people who love alpacas.

Thaovi T.

Yelp
Alpacas are my absolute fave animal in the world! This farm has the most beautiful alpacas! Love their kisses. The tour was amazingAnd love that we were able to interact with them up close.

Sharyse W.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a sunday morning at $30/person. The tour is around an hour and you get PLENTY of time to hang out with the alpacas and llamas! The staff was amazing at giving you the best shots to pose with the animals. They each have their own personality and it was so cute to feed them carrots and pet the friendly ones. Be respectful or you may get spit on! :) 11/10 would recommend booking time with the alpacas!

Sharlyn G.

Yelp
This is our happy place! Such an amazing place to spend a weekend. The Alcapas are very friendly and love to be petted. Our tour guides are amazing! I strongly recommend this place

Angel P.

Yelp
Such an amazing experience from start to finish! The alpacas were super fluffy and friendly, definitely a family experience! We had our tour around Canzelle guided by Not-a-Karen Karen aka Karen, who was extremely knowledgeable about the alpaca and was the cherry on top of the whole experience. Long story short: Karen, amazing. Alpacas, amazing. Canzelle, amazing. JUST AMAZING!

Blaise H.

Yelp
Omg!! I can't rate this place high enough. The man who takes care of the alpacas and guides the tour is incredibly sweet and so caring towards the animals. I am a huge alpaca/llama lover but this place is truly for everyone. The tour experience is one of a kind and way more intimate than I thought it would be. You get to pet, play, and take silly pictures with the animals. All of the animals are well taken care of and treated with the upmost respect. I love supporting this place and hope to come back (very) soon!

Soo H.

Yelp
The cutest experience! The tour guides are great, the alpacas are SO SOFT and SWEET, and it's so fun to feed them and meet some of the other animals on the grounds. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Crystal L.

Yelp
First visit here. It was such a fun experience. Animals are super friendly. Staff is very knowledgeable and super nice. I will definitely be coming back and letting my friends and family know to come too.

Brizylla A.

Yelp
I came here last month and the entire experience was lovely. You get to feed and take pics with the animals. The place is secluded and you can definitely appreciate nature all around. Amazing views from the top! I've heard alpacas can be friendly and I wanted to go check the place out for that reason. They have goats and a water buffalo too and some peacocks. The animals look cared for and well taken care of. It's a pleasure. You can also choose to have a picnic with a nice view for an extra cost. My favorite alpaca was Soiree- she's so sweet and huggable!

Renee R.

Yelp
Beautiful opportunity to experience an alpaca farm in Santa Barbara area. They are well taken care of and we were happy to support!

Jara S.

Yelp
It's. SOOOO. FUZZY!!! We came here after VC farm day! Reservations required (they mean it). Booking was so easy and seamless. Getting there wasn't horrible. The last leg of the trip requires your full attention as it's one way only with small pockets to giveway and off-roadish. Leave the low-rider at home, you're welcome. We checked in, was a smidge early and wandered around the giftshoppe. They had all kinds of Alpaca items there. We bought the softest alpaca ornament and a bunny plushie made out of alpaca hair. Karen was great, she rang us in and was the sweetest to my daughter. She gave her a literal hair ball of alpaca fur (?) and told us we can use it as a loofah. The tour is everything I imagined it to be. It was very interactive and lots of alpaca activity. The ticket fee included everything, including the baby bucket of carrots to feed the animals with. Also appreciate the thorough instruction from Karen and which furry animal not to touch. We got to see a month old cria! He was so cute and ran so fast (no touching) Humberto was just amazing, we can tell he loved what he does and the animals love him back. Also so very patient with both animals and humans lol. He was amazing making sure everyone who wanted a photo with the alpacas got one -- granted that the animals allowed it. Got to meet Archie, such a gentle water buffalo and fondly reminded me soooo much of home and growing up around them. 5/5 experience and would recommend!

Heather A.

Yelp
What an AMAZING place! Tucked away in Carpinteria up against beautiful mountains but with a great view of the ocean. Booked the 1 hr tour. Our tour guide was so sweet and informative. This is very much a hands on experience so wear proper shoes. The alpacas are so gentle and very friendly. Perfect experience for all ages. We were able to feed the alpacas, pet and take photos. I loved the group size... there were plenty of alpacas to interact with. I highly recommend visiting and I can't wait to go again!

Erica Y.

Yelp
Favorite SB animal experience. You get to pet, feed, hose down, and take pictures with these calm babes. Parking is on the side of street across from the first alpaca enclosure you see on your left. You'll walk down hill to start your tour. Restroom onsite, gift shop upstairs. Alpacas were very pleasant. They'll blow air before they resort to spitting so you really have to piss them off before they resort to doing that. There's also a farm cat, water bison, and some goats. Tour starts with some history, you'll go see the females first (the ones you park next to). Then you'll let Karen know when you're ready to feed the males across the road. There are some by themselves and a group of them in the open space at the back. I'd recommend to save a few carrots in your pocket for the male group to get a good picture with many alpacas in the background. You'll be able to cool the alpacas off with a hose and hang with your group but feel free break off and roam! You'll feed the water bison as a group as the last activity.

Emalay V.

Yelp
This was literally one of the best experiences ever!! I highly recommend this farm, the staff is amazing and the alpacas are even better they give the best kisses!

Nadia A.

Yelp
This place is such a delight! I've loved alpacas since I was a kid and this was my first time seeing them in person. I bought tickets a few weeks before (you need a tour reservation to be able to visit) and picked a time. My partner and I drove to the location and it was so lovely. We started by interacting with a group of alpacas. They were adorable and friendly. We took pictures and basked in their glory. We weren't rushed and everyone took their time to walk around. We then walked to another area where we were given carrots and to feed the alpacas. There was also a goat and buffalo on the property. We then walked to another open area with a ton on alpacas and even a llama! They were roaming free and we interacted with the group. Such a lovely experience. The tour groups are small, you don't feel rushed, you can look, pet, feed, and take photos to your hearts delight. The animals are well taken care of and the people on the property truly love them which is evident. I'll go again!

L C.

Yelp
In January, my husband & I wanted a fun way to spend our first anniversary so we scheduled a group tour with Canzelle Alpacas. They also offer private tours but we didn't mind touring with a group of ~20 people. The staff are so kind - we were running a few mins late due to traffic on the freeway within 8 miles from their location. We were coming from LA county & the afternoon drive was smooth until then. After emailing them about the situation, they told us we could rejoin the group upon our arrival. We took so many memorable photos but here are a few of my favs. They have separate areas for the male & female alpacas. The two llamas they had were also so cute!!

Carrie S.

Yelp
I loved this whole experience! It was on my "to do" list for a long time. My hubs and I wanted to do something fun after my chemo ended, and I was feeling good post mastectomy, and this was on the list! We booked the last tour of the day since we were driving from Santa Clarita. It was a little hard to find odd the beaten path, but parking was easy and when you round that driveway you can already see the alpacas. The check in was easy though our tour guide seemed a little annoyed that it took so long but there was a large party ahead of us. She guided us to the first area where we could hang out and pet the alpacas. She gave us tips on what not to do, and fun facts about the animals. It was so wonderful. That group were all the females, two were pregnant. Next we could meet the men, whom they keep separate. We were given carrots to feed through the fence. It was so fun! There was one llama that you could feed too. He was so rad. After that, our guide led us to another pasture of just male alacpas that we could also feed. This time we had to hide the carrots in our pockets and only feed one at a time, which was tricky cause they approach you a few at a time. It was really cool. Our last treat was to feed their water Buffalo. Yes you read that right. What a beautiful and massive creature. We would recommend this to anyone looking for something new to do. Worth the price point and the drive. Thank you Canzelle farm!

Luke D.

Yelp
Totally stellar, the animals were so cute and tons of fun to feed and pet. Had a great time and the staff were incredibly kind. Good times!

Sharon K.

Yelp
Fabulous place. Learn all about alpacas. Pet them. Observe them. Cute gift shop on the grounds too

Hans L.

Yelp
Amazing experience, very welcoming tour guide, the most relaxing thing I've done in a while, wife loved it too. Aside from the Alpacas who are certainly the rock stars of the farm there are other nice animals, water buffalo, sheep, goat, chickens and a really cool cat.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Took my girlfriend here. She's always wanted to see alpacas. Our hosts were very nice and friendly, they gave us a history of their farm, and rules, and tips on how to interact with the alpacas. The area was nice. They take you to where they have the alpacas, and you hang out with them, get up close to them, you get to pet the alpacas, and they offer to take photos for you which was very nice of them. Then they'll take you another side where you can feed the alpacas, I think for the price that they charge you, and you also get to feed the animals. It was a great price and well worth it. The tour lasts for one hour. Overall, it was a great experience. I recommend everyone to give this tour a try if you love animals. For everyone wondering about parking, if you keep going up to the farm, you'll eventually see the farm, and you can park along the side of a fence, the farm would be to your left and the fence would be to your right. You'll usually see other cars parked there.

Yen-tso K.

Yelp
It was an enjoyable experience. We got to interact with alpacas, a llama, and a water buffalo, and we also got to see a peacock.

Erin C.

Yelp
What a cool and unique experience. These ladies care so much for their animals. My whole family had an amazing time feeding the animals and getting some cool pictures with them. I especially love how the guide saw that my daughter was a little nervous and let her feed "grandpa", the oldest Alpaca on the farm. She even gave her a bag of his wool. Thanks for a great experience canzelle alpacas!

Kezia F.

Yelp
Such a great experience for all people! The group tour experience was as interactive and informative as you want it to be. Thankfully the tour for the farm is not physically very large, as we explored the (1) front yard area with female alpacas, (2) the fenced areas for each individual male alpaca/water buffalo/chickens, (3) the larger yard area with more female alpacas. This was perfect for me since at 7 months pregnant, I wasn't wanting to walk too much lol. In the various 3 sections, the tour guide/owner gave us educational information about the animals as well as food/treats to feed the alpacas/various animals. That was the most fun! As someone who isn't necessarily the type to want to get down and dirty with the animals, feeding them and petting them was such a fun experience. It was such a fun experience during our little stay in Carpinteria!

T G.

Yelp
Karen was the hostess with the mostest! She jumped through flaming hoops to make sure my mom had the best 84th birthday. Karen quickly accessed that my elderly parents needed a little extra help, and she came to the rescue, while managing a group of 20 (someone get this woman a cape)! Karen made our experience so special and unforgettable. She is patient, kind, and made sure all of her guests had an unforgettable experience with these gorgeous and magical creatures. Thank you, Karen!

Terry S.

Yelp
By all means, go see this farm. Visitors get to meet these super cool animals up close. I made a new BFF, and his name is Zulu. This was a highlight of a recent trip to Ventura/Carpinteria/Santa Barbara. Bonus: the gift shop has great swag.

Danny B.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience bringing our two kiddos and their cousins to the farm! Melissa and Humberto are amazing and created an experience we will not forget. Don't forget the gift shop before you leave the farm and pick up some very adorable alpaca gear
