The 19 Best Restaurants In Menorca - Menorca - The Infatuation

"The staggering coastal views are reason enough for venturing a few miles north of Maó to Cap Roig, a stone-built restaurant on a cliff overlooking Sa Mesquida cove. Since opening in the 1980s, it’s been a top spot on the local radar for its fresh seafood, rice dishes, and Balearic-style fideuà. Share a few plates with a group over a long lunch—hopefully out on the terrace, because of course you remembered to book a table in advance. Start with a bottle of Menorca-made Sa Cudia wine and some grilled local prawns or mussels fresh from Maó’s harbor while you wait for your cuttlefish-loaded arròs negre to arrive." - isabella noble

We were very excited to try this place and given the good reviews we made it our very first top of our trip after landing at the airport. The starts were delicious, garlic prawns were 11/10. Sadly given the price the rest of the meal really fell short. They only have a few wines to buy by the glass, none of which are Menorcan and the one that was recommended to us was not very nice. The main courses were extremely average, despite choosing two of the fish of the day options. The fried fish came with one small piece of lemon and overall didn’t have much taste. It was just a little underwhelming. Back to the positives, the staff were very friendly and the view is absolutely stunning! A little bit more love and care when it comes to the main courses would justify the price point, but as it stands right now, I felt regretful about starting our trip here. It’s very possible that it was just a case of being there on the wrong day, because all of the other reviews and videos that I saw online absolutely rave about the food.

I'm slightly disappointed... This used to be a really great place and today it was just good. It's a fantastic setting, the views are amazing and the seating is great. But everything else was just good or ok. Yes, it's well cooked very fresh seafood but no green veg in sight - just thoroughly average chips. Restaurants everywhere have improved but Cap Roig has stood still.

Came here for dinner on recommendation of our hotel in Mahon, Casa Ladico, and we weren't disappointed. The food, drink and service were brilliant, the seafood paella excellent. We can't think of dining anywhere with a more spectacular views from a restaurant!

Beautiful setting for lunch - food was really yummy and the staff were very good. We didn’t have a booking but only waited a few minutes for a table around 2:30pm

A must. Location with a majestic sea view, friendly staff, good wine list and my first eating a fried lobster with egg and fries, so crisp that you want to eat the shell.

Excellent restaurant right by the sea. The service was friendly and attentive, and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. We ordered the local fish and it was tasty and cooked to perfection. A great spot to enjoy local seafood and watch the sunset.

Wow, what a stunning view from the restaurant. Very attentive staff, they were kind and almost can read your mind. We had fresh menorcan fish (gallo di San Pedro and Cap roig) worth every penny. Served with fries and baked potatoes and onions. As a starter we had the fried cuttlefish (chipirones fritos) and to be honest, the starter would be my last meal on earth if I had to choose one dish. Had the Verdejo housewine and apple juice for our son. Paid 124 euro for 2 1/2 people and think this is almost too cheap. We’re coming back with the full family. Thanks for the wonderful evening. Yelp
We stopped in here after visiting the beautiful beach in Sa Mesquida. Being the funny little tourists that we are, we had decided to walk the whole way from Mahon to the beach and back. It was a BEAUTIFUL walk, but is on the road which made it a bit exciting as well as we had to dodge vehicles haha. After walking to the beach and climbing/exploring the area for a few hours, we were naturally starving. This seemed to be literally the only place open (and was only one of two restaurants we even saw). Located just before you enter the town proper, we (still damp from swimming, sweaty, and a little sandy) made our way up the hill for lunch. Upon entering we realized that we were a bit under dressed, it's a fairly upscale seeming place but there was also a wedding reception being held there so we looked even more out of place than we usually would have. Nonetheless we were treated very kindly and received prompt service. The prices were a little higher than we anticipated for lunch but it was also a nicer place than we expected as well...a problem that goes hand in hand. Obviously this wasn't the restaurants fault and the portions and quality were god so we were happy regardless. We got the fried anenomes and they were fantastic! Not too fishy, not too chewy, and with a nice breading. In an attempt to balance our fried food we got a salad which was refreshing and delicious. The table bread was wonderful as well; flaky, fresh, and served with some olive oil for dipping. The view was amazing and the walls were decorated with historic pictures of Mahon, Sa Mesquida, and Menorca which was a nice touch.
