Western Australia for the Food Is the Next Great Food Lover's Destination

"A 128-foot stone tower that was manned by resident keepers until 1992, led tours by a storm-weathered guide who spoke of two on-site apparitions: "You smell old man and tobacco, with no rhyme or reason," and an incident in a former keeper's cottage where, after a woman died in childbirth long ago, "Every door opened and closed at the same time," the guide said, a story that converted skeptics into believers." - Kevin West Kevin West Kevin West is a writer, food consultant, and “canning evangelist” (according to NPR). Spectacular spot, lots to see and do or simply admire the views. Friendly staff and a tasty cafe too. Low price to enter site and a little more to go on a guided tour to the top of this very tall and impressive lighthouse (not for those with a fear of heights!)

What a truly stunning spot in the world! 2 oceans meet in one of nature's finest displays. The lighthouse tour is worth it and the guides are absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable.

Awesome views, awesome coastline, awesome water colours. There was a cold wind blowing when we were there, but it was still bearable. It costs $7.50 for adults, $6 for seniors to walk around the area. Costs more if you want to go in the lighthouse. I recommend booking in advance for the guided tour. Highly recommend seeing it.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is a solid spot to visit! It’s located at the point where the Southern and Indian Oceans meet, which is pretty interesting. The views from the top are nice, and the lighthouse itself is impressive. The tour provides some good background on the history of the place, and the Interpretive Centre gives a bit of insight into the lighthouse keepers’ lives. It’s also a good place for whale watching during the right season. Worth a stop if you’re in the area :)

Very cool, chill place to visit. Lot's of information about what life was like for the lighthouse keepers and their families. Our guide for the tour of the lighthouse itself was Bruce, who has a wealth of knowledge about the lighthouse and it's operation. Also very cool to be at the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.

Brilliant! So rare to get inside a working lighthouse. With our guide we got to the very top just under the rotating glass. We booked for 4.30 so the last tour which means we saw the sunset. We should have come earlier to leave time to see round the exhibition first which was closing at 5.00 so come early! A great cafe too. Our guide full of info about building the lighthouse. First class!

Very good tour of the lighthouse. The views from the top are amazing. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. We did not book in advance, so we had to wait a little bit to get on a tour. However, that allowed us to have a coffee and snack in the cafe, which was lovely. Highly recommend a visit.

Well worth the effort to do the full tour. 152 steps to climb inside the tower, stopping at two levels for talks about the construction and operation. A very windy walk around the outside deck with panoramic views. Our guide Peter was passionate and knowledgeable which made for an excellent experience. Light lunch and coffee at the cafe/gift shop was reasonably priced and good quality.

Yelp
Cool spot to sit and enjoy a freshly baked scone with cream and jam, over looking the lighthouse and the point where the two oceans meet! Plenty of options on the menu and snacks to buy also! Grab a grounds pass or tour pass and have a look around the lighthouse while you're here!
