The Best Restaurants in Porto, Portugal's Epicurean Gem | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set in a deconsecrated, sunshine-yellow church around the corner from Igreja do Carmo, this neighborhood wine and tapas bar has casual street-side seating, cozy interior tables that look up to an ornate wooden altar, and a cool, social vibe—diners often step outside for a cigarette-course. The menu is unpretentious with bites like Serra da Estrela cheese with fig jam, brioche roast beef with caramelized onion and parmigiano, and babaganoush with falafel and yogurt, and a colorful selection of Douro and Minho wines (from modern producers to aged port) is displayed on modern shelving; it doesn’t take bookings but can get busy in the evenings." - Abigail Malbon, Jessica-Belle Greer

It was one of my favorite places in Porto. The staff was amazing, the food and Vibe was completely awesome! Great wine and relaxing environment. The place itself is completely stunning especially being in an old chapel. This place definitely did not disappoint. Would visit over and over again. Thanks for a wonderful visit ✌️

We loved this wine, and visited twice in our six days in Porto. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about their wine. And the food, which we enjoyed on our second visit, was delicious too. It's quite small inside, so book if you want to sit in there, but there are more tables outside. We enjoyed sitting inside in the chapel. Great place. Highly recommended.

What a magical place to taste the best port wines in Porto and try out some incredible starters dishes… especially: Codfish croquettes Fig jam, cheese and a bread - bang on!!! Cannot wait to visit again. Usually, it is booked or atleast busy so consider some time but absolutely worth it! If possible, sit inside ;) for a stunning interior

A very unique bar in a former chapel. I went there and had a great portwine tasting, with a lot of information about portowine and explaining for every wine I tasted. The pairing with the Serra cheese was a great recommendation. I enjoyed my evening and I will come back when I visit porto again

What an amazing gem of a restaurant. The food, the service (shout out to Carla who was absolutely phenomenal). It was so delicious we went there twice in our four day stay in Porto. Highly recommend going on a Thursday for the Fado show, I believe it’s every other Thursday. Those cod croquettes were the standout of my entire trip to Porto. Highly recommend.

We loved it. We went there based on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. The place is so nicely decorated. It’s a calm quaint atmosphere. Carla is knowledgeable in wines. She helped us to choose an excellent Espumante for our dinner and we discussed with her other wines. The food, which is to share , is really good. This place is a gem away from the buzzing touristic district

Who wouldn’t want to drink amazing wine sitting inside/outside of an old Catholic Church? Such a great find. It’s small but has plenty of seating outside, I mean that’s what everyone wants when in Portugal anyways. We had some tapas and a couple of bottle of wine. Everything was amazing, the church was stunning and the staff were amazing. We met some friends and enjoyed a beautiful day outside. Highly recommended.

Cute little gem a bit off the beaten track of Porto’s old town. Very original setting, great to grab a drink and some tapas (specialized in wines but also the port tonic is highly recommended!). Service is a bit slow and port negroni was a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Cute little wine bar in the form of an old chapel! The drinks were reasonably priced, and seemed like a spot for both tourists and locals alike. Service can be a little slow, in fact, we saw a couple guests leave because no one came to take their order for over 10 min. I understand their frustration but I also thought ... when in rome ... slow down and enjoy.

Yelp
Super lovely spot recommended by locals. It seems like a perfect hangout spot with group of friends. Small and cozy, friendly staffs. Extensive beverage menu. On the other hand the food we got were quite let down. - Gyosas with Ragu : it's like steamed onion dumpling with Ragu on top, odd creation of a dumpling Portuguese way? - Green Bean Tempura : kinda dry. I'd say stick with the drinks..

Yelp
Don't believe the website, they are closed on Mondays. Very disappointing after walking so far and so much uphill to get here.

Yelp
Awesome and charming little spot inside of a former church. More of a locals destination for the moment because it is a bit outside of the city centre but a real treat to visit. Get there early enough and the owner will be there and she is extremely friendly and enjoys chatting. Very reasonable prices for good quality wines. For food we only tried the bruschetta but it was good. Stop by and enjoy!

Yelp
If you are looking for a quaint, cute, cozy, local wine bar in Porto, this is the place to go. We were greeted with friendly faces who were so helpful with recommendations of wine. The wines were great and we also got a cheese/meat board that were to die for. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Porto!

Yelp
This place is lovely. Very close to high-traffic areas (R. Cedofeito), with bars, etc., but really focused on the wine. Splendid selection of local wines (including wines from Galicia IIRC), with knowledgeable personnel. I highly recommend a visit. (Except when I am there. There are few tables, all outside as far as I know.)
