"The concept is ‘conversations between ingredients’. Pairings of complementary ingredients include Pacific saury with tomatoes, potatoes with cheese and duck with figs. The signature dish of caviar, squid and aubergine brings out a unique flavour profile through the contrast of salt and sweet. The numbers of ingredients on each plate are kept to a minimum, so patrons retain a clear impression of what they ate." - Michelin Inspector

We had the best meal of our trip and maybe our lives at Capi! The food was incredible, but even more incredible was the atmosphere and the overall experience. We were lucky enough to be alone for the later dinner service so we got to really experience a private omakase dinner with an incredibly skilled chef. Sitting at the counter and being able to observe the chef & sous chef preparing our food was better than any theatre experience. Everyone was super nice and easy going, much less of a "formal" dining experience than what we were expecting - we got to chat and ask about the food, as well as experience some unique flavours. The brioche bread with chopped wagyu was out of this world good and we even got to take a bit of it home with us as they saw how excited we were about it! All in all - definitely a top recommendation for a fancy dinner in Osaka. Thank you for an amazing experience, Capi!

A visit to Capi isn't simply dining at a good restaurant, it is an "experience". I sincerely hope all those who visit Osaka can have this great experience. Chef Ogawa is an artist - he takes ingredients "we know" and creates flavors we don't expect. This to me is the definition of innovative cuisine. For example : The risotto homages a seared onigiri with ochazuke with the flavors of a paella from valencia. The fresh pasta homages Japanese soba. The caviar, squid, eggplant combination which seems like an awkward mix but in reality creates perfect harmony. There are many surprises over the course of the meal. All very pleasant. The wine pairing is also amazing, so make sure to add the pairing to enhance the experience. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at capi. The entire experience was very intimate and welcoming. You can watch the chef prepare the food with such care. The restaurant was accommodating since we don’t speak Japanese. The food itself was delicious, my wife and I couldn’t decide which of 6 or 7 dishes was our favorite. Too many good options to choose from! She also enjoyed the wine pairing, which had reasonable portions and many tastings. We’ve been to many other Michelin star restaurants and this is one worth picking for your special meal.

This is definitely over rated restaurant Very disappointed and make my days and life in disaster First the menu is not balanced, we kept having several kinds of bread and financier in the early session of the meal…. I wonder I booked a seat in bread shop or a fine dining restaurant Second the dish order is not balanced as either two greasy dishes or similar type (yes, bread and cakes) arranged in a row…this reduce the appetite substantially Third I booked here for my wife birthday celebration but they don’t even arrange a cut cake with candle for this celebration…….they only write happy birthday with assorted pieces of desert…..which even I want to ask immediately but I don’t think we can really cut cake or blow the candle Fourth, they charge us more than the stated price. I understand there is extra charge on drinks, service charge and there is room for adjustment on fee with better food ingredient. However, they should tell us in advance or show us the breakdown rather than a final charge with only one figure on receipt.

I was surprised to see a Michelin-starred restaurant allowing a waitress to cough and sniffle continuously while serving customers and she wasn’t even wearing a mask. It was quite unsettling to have someone who seemed unwell handling our food. I expect a higher standard of health and hygiene, especially in such a reputable establishment. Dining out should be a safe experience, not a risk for illness.

A must spot in Osaka. Such good food and service. I really loved every second being at Capi. From the moment i was welcomed to the moment i left. They don’t speak much English, but they tried the best that they could to help me understand and i’m really happy for that! Next time i am in Osaka i want to go here again!

Highly recommend for a great experience. Fresh ingredients from all over Japan. Great staff and even better ambience. A bit pricey but worth the price.
