FYI:
- they charge 4% for credit card processing fee
- they charge 10% for dine-in
- and if you give additional tip, that 14% is added to the total that you'll tip on.
American BBQ, Vietnamese Food and buy/pay for cell phone service under one roof? Yup, you can do all that at Capital City BBQ. This was my third attempt visiting - first time I came was on Sunday, second time was holiday thinking they'd be open, but nope I was wrong.
I was more interested in the Vietnamese food, but also had to try their BBQ offering as well, thankfully we had party of 6 and we were able to order multiple of foods to share. We ordered the following items:
- Pork Bahn Mi
- Brisket Bahn Mi
- Pho
- 'Moo Over with mac n cheese
- Rib Tips (1 lb)
- 6 summer rolls
- 12 spring rolls
What we liked:
Summer Roll - You have to try really hard to go wrong with summer rolls. This was made with pork (even though I ordered the shrimp version) and peanut sauce definitely brought the flavor to the summer roll.
Spring Rolls - I expected the thin versions (thus ordered 12), but here, they give you a larger size. The dipping sauce looks weird, but it was good and it had bit of spice to the sauce.
Brisket - this is what we would recommend you get if you go. The brisket was excellent, the meat was tender and easy to eat. The pork was nice too, but the pork meat was little try.
What we did not like:
Pho - it was decent, we all had better Pho in Michigan. The broth lacked that deep flavor and the noodles were bit under cooked.
Mac n Cheese - not worth getting. To be honest, Kraft out of the box tasted better.
Rib Tips - it was okay.
Overall - limited parking, limited seating area and on the dinner time, it will get crowded quickly. While we weren't fan of all their food offering, they had few items that we really loved. The only issue I really had was with their 10% dine-in fee, 4% credit card fee... I believe they post it on their menu, but they should really post it on their register so folks will see it when they order.
