Maybe it was because it was his birthday, but every bite felt like a celebration. This is a great spot for groups, and you'll want to bring at least five friends or family members. We came on a Saturday around 1:30 pm, and our group of six was seated immediately. They have a shared private lot, so parking was easy.
Our server was friendly and gave excellent recommendations. I usually trust staff picks, and I'm glad I did. The food came out quickly and hot. Honestly, I barely remembered to take photos because the aroma and flavors grabbed my full attention.
What we ordered:
* House Special Lobster - Perfectly cooked and tossed in a peppery, slightly sweet, umami-forward sauce with green onions. Outstanding.
* House Special Shrimp - Same house special sauce as the lobster, with a lightly crispy coating and jalapeños. One of the best shrimp dishes I've had in a long time.
* French Style Beef - Tender cubes of filet mignon in a rich, savory sauce. Similar to shaken beef and just as memorable.
* Mongolian Beef - Tender, flavorful, with the right balance of savory and sweet, green onions and red onions included.
* Kung Pao Chicken - Tender chicken, peppers, peanuts, and green onions with the perfect amount of sauce and heat.
* Fried Prawn Balls, Preserved Vegetables, and Ong Choy - All delicious, and I'm running out of adjectives to keep saying that.
* Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice - How am I just discovering this now? I would have loved some fried shallots on top, but that's just my personal preference.
I do wonder if the food would taste just as incredible without the birthday glow. Only one way to find out. Guess I'll be back soon.
