Seattle’s 12 Best Farmers Markets to Discover This Fall | Eater

"After getting bumped from location to location through various construction projects, the Capitol Hill Farmers Market has finally found its home — and its groove, catering more to a younger crowd than many of the further-out neighborhoods. That means it starts a little later than others and has plenty of post-partying treats, like 9th & Hennepin doughnuts, El Chito tamales, and big, beautiful, gluten-free cakes from Grain Artisan Bakery." - Vox Creative

Stopped by the Market while visiting from Tennessee. What a lovely well organized market. We were in love with all the beautiful flowers and the abundance of fresh produce. We stopped and spoke to Kevin from Hell or High Water Farms for quite awhile. He was so knowledgeable about his produce. His pastured eggs were huge! 5 stars all day long!

Google
It is one fabulous farmer's market. I bought the most delicious jams from a vendor and he was absolutely dedicated to his craft. We snacked it up on soups, homemade breads and salmon burgers. It is one of my favorite thing to do when I am in Seattle for a weekend.

Google
This farmers market isn't huge but it has nice options and really nice vendors. FYI it doesn't open until 11AM and they are pretty serious about that since they don't start setting up until 10AM.

Google
A small charming farmer’s market with fresh fruits and vegetables, different breads and bakeries, mushrooms, various cuisines, fish, poultry, meat, you name it

Google
This is my favorite farmers market in Seattle! Great vendor and produce selection! Also some good cheeses from the neighborhood cheese lady (I think that was her stand name). There are a few different flower vendors and their prices vary a bit, but they are all beautiful.

Google
It was alright maybe 20-30 vendors on Sunday with fruits vegetables and other things

Google
It is an amazing place to get fresh veggies, fruits and flowers. If you are into growing your own veggies, there are some farmers selling young saplings. Overall it is very good. This was the only picture I took of the place. But you can see how fresh everything is. :) A must visit place.

We love the market! Super easy access from the light rail

Yelp
If you want a low key market experience rather than a touristy one then this is a good one to visit. It's easy to get here since it's close to the light rail off Broadway. My favorite time to visit is June-September. The folks of Capitol Hill get to pick their favorite fruits and veggies with their reusable bags in tow. The flowers and produce are vibrant and bountiful. It's good warm energy. I usually get here right when they open because there are minimal lines and I get the best picks of merch and snacks. I also get longer 1:1 time connecting with vendors. They're pretty friendly and they enjoy chatting about their products. After shopping I usually walk around Cal Anderson Park, sit near the Waterworks fountain, relax, and people watch.

Yelp
Came here on the last Saturday that I was visiting some friends in Seattle. I've definitely heard about some of the stand here, especially a tamale stand, and the Seattle pop stand. Left a little later than I intended, maybe about 30 minutes after opening and found it already slightly crowded. It wasn't too bad. Just keep in mind that when ordering from food stands, the later you go, the longer you'll have to wait in line. Really liked the flowers, similar to what you would find at pikes Place. Just less crowded and less expensive. However, prices are still not cheap compared to what one would expect from a farmers market. Then again, you are looking to do local support, as opposed to buying retail. There are a variety of food stands, Asian foods, and baked goods, as well as two Mexican/tamales/Latino food. There are also some local produce stands, whose stuff actually looked pretty good. Sometimes you can find sweeter and more fresh fruit at these farmers markets. However, you do have to note that it is going to be a little bit more expensive. But this is understandable given, the food chain seen, especially with mass production. I really enjoyed the tamales. However of the vendor representative, was not the most pleasant to interact with. He was very curt. In addition, he didn't offer me any sauce or offer. Any advice on how to take sauces when I had ordered my tamales to go. Initially, I had asked for a bag, which she didn't have understandably, since it is Seattle. However, he didn't offer any options either. I had to actually specifically ask "well how do I take these home if I'm ordering these to go?" This is pretty surprising for me, since most, if not all the people that I've met so far in Seattle have been pretty courteous and polite. Especially if they're in the food beverage and service industry. The Seattle pops Stan was amazing. I was lucky enough that my friends only lived a 15 minute walk, and even though the Popsicles or slightly soft, and by the time I got home, the referrals, right back up in the freezer. I would definitely come back again on my next trip to Seattle. However, I would probably not go back to that tamale vendor again. Overall a nice break from retail grocery shopping, and a good way to do some small shopping outside and support local producers.

Yelp
Visited this market close to my friend's place. It was very convenient but I guess it's costly to buy local. It's a little small but still great to see everyone local. They have some food options but also on the pricey side too so don't expect cheap. There was a nice variety of vendors for meat, eggs, mushrooms, baked goods and veggies. The eggs can go by fast for the duck eggs so if you want those, be sure to get there early! They are a little pricy- I think over $10 for a dozen. I think we paid $10 for free range chicken eggs. They were tasty tho! We got a steak, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, eggs and baguette to cook for brunch. Everything was tasty and quality was very good.

Yelp
I like the new (to me) location. Plaza has benches / low walls for seating and it's spacious. I was surprised by the number of booths with animal-based products. Not much veggies or fruit. Hopefully, there will be more as the spring and summer crops are ready. For now, I'll stick with U-District farmers market - more produce oriented. My out-of-town guest is a bit in sticker shock - $5 per cookie, $6 per fruit pastry. But...hey...it's Seattle ‍

Yelp
On our second and last day in Seattle, we headed to Capitol Hill where we knew we would find the hipsters congregating on a Sunday because it's that kind of edgy urban neighborhood with a strong LGBT flavor. It was wet with unrelenting rain, which was certainly no surprise, but we weren't aware there was a farmers market there every Sunday rain or shine. Sure, it was no Pike Place Market (review: http://bit.ly/2rvMSFw), but there weren't major crowds to deal with either. It will remind you of any smaller congregation of farmers, meat purveyors, and artisanal food vendors that you would find in most major cities and many small towns. They are lined up on the diagonal brick sidewalk on Broadway starting at East Pine Street where Seattle Central College is. Near that corner is a small open space where there' an opportunity to try some of the unique food offerings like Miri's Proffertjes which are mini-Dutch pancakes (photo: http://bit.ly/2rM57Wr) or the Asian-style bites from Brothers & Co. (photo: http://bit.ly/2she4L0). Keep walking on Broadway and you pass by a number of small farmers selling their particular line of produce including some interesting mushrooms at least for cooking and even kits for growing your own (photo: http://bit.ly/2rGUV6u). There were tempting jars of homemade kimchi (photo: http://bit.ly/2rMsnni) and lots of honey with different flavorings (photo: http://bit.ly/2rM5iB5). If I was a local, I would definitely take advantage of this gathering of goodness.

Yelp
3.5 stars! I am a big fan of farmer's markets. The fresh produce, tasty cheeses, the 'happy before slaughter' meats. Its all good. All the vendors seem really happy and are so friendly. The Broadway Farmers Market does not the biggest selection of prepared foods, but i have my usual stalls i visit. 9th and hennepin donut guy, Geni's ethiopian foods, El Chito tamales are some of my usual visits. Not a ton of places to actually sit to eat but you are right next to seattle central CC so can sit around there.
google avatar

Yelp
I feel like this is one of the more expensive farmer's markets with less of a selection. But it's a fun thing to do if you're in Capitol Hill on a Sunday.

Yelp
Solid year-round market. It is better/bigger in the summer because there are more vendors, but you can still get veggies and meat and also hot food in the winter. In the summer months, there's tons of vendors with tomatoes, greens, fruit, etc. Flowers are pretty and run $7-20, with some people offering $15 bouquets (which is less common at other markets). I don't see $5 bouquets much though. They do have port-a-potties which is nice. Less crafts, though they are some people with jam and candles.

Yelp
Sunday farmers market on Broadway is a small but great little market. It has everything I need for a quick stop to start my day. I go there to pick up my weekly veggies that are from local farms. I particularly like that they have seasonal veggies that you might not be able to pick up from your local grocery store. I love that this place has a combination of produce to flowers to food stands. One of my favorite things this place has is local jams and honey. The couple vendors that sell jam here is awesome. They jellies are mixed with different flavors like blackberry and habenero, or blueberry and herb de provance. There honey selection is pretty good. I really enjoy the varieties of the honey the vendors have here. They have regional hives that produce a variety of honey based on what the bees eat. I always pick up a nice big loaf of artisinal bread. A good crusty olive bread or sourdough is too good to resist! But my favorite part of the market is the falafal stand. They are always so friendly and they have a great falafal wrap. That's filled with yummy pickled veggies and falafal. It's great to grab one and sit on the steps of scc and enjoy the day! It's not the biggest market but it has most of what I need to support my local business!

Yelp
The sun is setting on this years farmers market in Capital hill. Between the gorgeous flowers in the hippie with the guitar singing 1960s songs it's kind of a great Sunday morning to sip your coffee and enjoying fresh fruit. Someone has bacon and eggs on the grill and next to him they have frozen caramel yogurt with raspberries and ginger. It's nice to step outside the urban concrete jungle and enjoy the things that matter more, the farmers that feed us and a walk with my girlfriend... Carmel latte in hand.

Yelp
This farmers market is really really big. It really is the way to go if you're wanting to buy fresh and local items. All of the vendors seem to have something different and if you forgot something to buy when you enter the market all the way down the street, you most certainly will find it as you mosey on down to the end of the street. Make sure you bring your reusable bags or something to carry your goods because I'm sure you're gonna find something you want. I had never seen purple peppers before coming here and the honey was awesomely priced. My friends mom got a whole bag of honey crisp apples for like $2 & my friend got 3 bundles of fresh asparagus for $4!!! Just take your time as you go from stall to stall because you might miss something. All the vendors are really nice too which makes it even easier to have a quaint conversation on where the foods come from or how they make their wares. It's a really really cool and free thing to do. It's right across the street from Panera Bread.

Yelp
Yum! Fantastic selection of farm grown berries, tomatoes, lots of other fruits & veggies as well as breads, soups & flowers!

Yelp
This is my favorite farmer's market near downtown. It is not too big but has a lot of selection. There's actually a decent amount of produce sellers and usually 2 flower vendors. It's much better than the SLU Saturday market and not as overwhelmingly packed as the Sunday Market in Ballard. I like that there's not so many useless rip-offy craft vendors. The food vendors here seem to be pretty local and not commercial--just honest, good homemade appetizers. I got some HUGE tamales and same great homemade jamaica aqua fresca! This market feels like a true farmer's market because you can actually do your grocery shopping here for your organic/local fruits, veggies, meats, and dairy and not end up going home instead with 3 bottles of wine, bars of soap, lotion, and a earrings you didn't intend to buy. Again, there's more produce than craft vendors which is a good thing in my book. Prices are not cheap and same as any other local farmer's market. It's Seattle proper, they are all expensive. One exception are the flower bouquets. There's less filler and the flowers last a good 4 days longer compared to the ones at Pike Place for some reason.

Yelp
Capitol Hill Farmers market is a nice lil market I stumbled upon last weekend and was delighted to see what they had. They facilitated a great covid safe maneuvering system throughout the market which I much appreciated. I will definitely be coming at least once a month. Hot tip: grab yourself one of the tamales from the tamale vendor. Worth the higher than expected price.

Yelp
I don't always remember to go to the farmer's market, but it's a great way to shop for fresh produce. And this is one of the best farmers' markets. Almost everything here is fresh produce, as opposed to arts and crafts that one finds at some farmers' markets. Because this market is on Sundays, which are my usual day to get together with friends on Capitol Hill for brunch, it's pretty convenient for me, when I remember to shop for produce there. Yesterday, I had a specific thing in mind: tomato starts. There were two or three stands selling them, so I comparison shopped. As it turned out, the one with the lowest prices was also the one where I got really good tomato advice last year, so I was happy to do business with them again. I took home five starts. I need to plant them tonight after I finish writing this review. I look forward to lots of yummy home-grown tomatoes in late summer.

Yelp
I realized that this might be unfair to the honest vendors in this market, but until someone contacts me about where I should leave this review, this review will stay here. I love farmer's market and this one is right across street from where I live, so it makes this market one of my fav spots in the summer. I have pretty good experience with this market in the past until last Sunday. I bought some "beet pasta" from the pasta woman and cooked it the same evening. The "beet color" washed off as soon as I put the pink pasta into hot water. I'm hoping this woman used safe food coloring instead of some toxic chemical shit. Pasta itself is about the most untasty one I had tried. It probably costs $1-$3 in the super market, more than 100% return on this investment, very smart. I wish I took photos. For people who don't know, real colored pastas are made with veggie juice during the dough kneading stage, and no, the color doesn't come off after they are cooked. My normal egg guy was not in the market last Sunday. I remember him telling me that he didn't like this market that much and might just stick to the Columbia city one only instead. Instead of paying $8 a carton eggs (which is already high I know), I paid $9 at a different vendor. Why would I ever pay that much for eggs? Well, I grew up with a couple chickens in our yard and I'm used to going to their nest and fetching the warm and sometimes poopy eggs in their nest. I want THOSE eggs, the color of the yolk is orange instead of yellow, the shell is thick instead of thin. I have no evidence those $9 eggs are from a super market, but the eggs are different... The shell is so thin that I wonder if their hens are sick...

Yelp
I'm used to go here every other Sunday for an amazing sausage breakfast sandwich but I can't remember the name of the company! Can someone help me here!?

Yelp
I love farmer's markets, and this one is fantastic. Location: For me, it's walking distance, but if you want to drive here, street parking is free on Sundays, or there are a number of cheap ($5 - $6 all day on weekends) parking lots nearby (one near Cal Anderson on the east side of Broadway, one just north of the market on the west side of Broadway - I've never seen either full). Variety: The Broadway market has a little of everything - produce, cheeses, specialty items like fresh pastas, soups, mac and cheese, vinegar shrubs, and jams, food to eat there like pastries, roti from Kedai Mekan, Rachel's Ginger Beer, and I Love My Gluten Free Food (this stuff is awesome, see my review!), flowers, etc. Timing: Sundays 11-2 YEAR ROUND!!! My favorites: Cherry Valley Dairy's cultured grey-salt butter (hey, leave some for me though please!) Alvarez Farms salted peanuts I Love my GFF Sno-Valley Mushrooms lion's mane mushrooms - intimidating, but oh so easy to cook and SO delicious! especially using grey-salt butter and fresh green onions! Sorrel -- I forget which farm I've been buying this from but it is the BEST GREEN EVER

Yelp
I'm walking down the street one lovely Sunday and I run smack dab into a farmer's market! Sweet. Huge farmer's market fan in da house! Anyway, I was excited already. Now, this is definitely not the largest farmer's market I have seen. But, they do have a nice mix of stalls from local produce to jams and breads and some meals. I ended up buying gluten free bread. And guess what? I can eat gluten. That means the bread was pretty good. It was a bit late in the day so it had been sitting out for awhile, but I circled around again because you could just tell the ingredients were so fresh. Now, that was some good bread. A couple of the stalls were also at the West Seattle Farmer's Market like the jam/chutney stall and the caramels. Anyway, I will be back to buy some produce. Last time I went there I was out of hands so I couldn't get any produce. But, I heard good things. This farmer's market makes for a nice, relaxing looksie and some yummy goods.

Yelp
This Farmers Market really exceeded my expectations. I had no idea this great farmers market is just steps away from my place! I've been to Farmers Market in different parts of Greater Seattle (Ballard, Mercer Island, Fremont, etc) and the Broadway Farmers Market is definitely my favorite! What I love about this market is that it's mostly all about produce, flowers and food and less so on crafts (fine, if you are looking for handcraft items, this probably won't suit you because I don't think they allow handcraft vendors to be in the market!). So it was definitely fun to just walk around seeing what produce is in season and just have good bakeries/food of different ethnicities to munch on. I also enjoy this market more because even though other markets have food vendors as well, they seem to have at most Western/Mexican/Hawaiian food. For this one, it seems there's much more of a great mix for food vendor (e.g. Russian pastries, Mexican food, Malaysian street food, etc). Love, love it. I'm also excited to find out that this Farmers Market opens all year round, too! Yay for a great find within Capitol Hill neighborhood!

Yelp
What's better than a farmer's market? Beautiful organic fruits, vegetables, meats, and flowers. You will pay a pretty penny but you will get good quality organic produce. They moved from the parking lot near John st. to the square at Seattle Central Community College.
google avatar

Hannah Z.

Yelp
Great little farmer's market with a large variety of produce and food. I come here every week for Ellenos Yogurt, as well as browse the other stands. There's usually quite a few farm stands with vegetables, some cheese stands, a few places that do prepared food (including a place that serves clam chowder that I can't wait to try). It runs a bit pricy, but most farmer's markets are like that. I come here every week, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a nice community event to check out. Food stamps are also accepted here from what I can tell.

Yelp
So great! This Farmers Market is so much better since it's move from north Broadway to the Pike/Pine corridor on the SCCC campus. It feels bigger, more open and friendlier than before. It's also nice to be able to use the park adjacent to the market to sit in if you buy food or treats to snack on while shopping. I tried Malaysian food, bought some fresh red kale, and even some 'pet salad' for the cat. So glad to be able to shop local and be outside enjoying the Seattle sun at the same time.
google avatar

Kat L.

Yelp
I try to make my way here on Sunday's to pick up fresh produce for the week along with a hot fresh breakfast. They have a great selection of not only produce, but flowers, meats, cheese, and other food products such as pasta or pickles. They also have a handful of food trucks/stands. It's never too crowded, I think I have waited max 5 minutes to pay for produce. My only complaint (which is probably more because there are a lot of organic stands) is my produce never last very long, I have to prepare them right away and I have gone home and seen maggots on my food the next day. Being a one day farmers market, you can't go back to get a replcment.

Yelp
An awesome little Farmers market featuring a wide variety of products, foodstuffs, and tasty beverages. I got to sample some ginger beer that was amazing, a piece of whiskey cake, some kind of cheese coated in paprika, and this was all from just walking through and browsing. I joined some fellow yelpers as they did their shopping, and I was very impressed with the selections of produce the market featured. Heirloom tomatoes, fresh golden beets, several colors and types of potatoes... One could create any type of culinary delight imaginable here. There were also a few meat vendors as well. One was selling duck. Duck! There was also a vendor selling Kombucha kits. I was tempted by that for sure. I haven't been to many farmers' markets in the past, so I guess i'm just easily impressed. Regardless, I enjoyed killing time here, and I'd like to come back sometime and buy some of the delicious stuff I saw.

Yelp
This is my favorite farmer's market! I have one near my house but the variety on Broadway is so much more! Columbia city bakery has really delicious blondies, they are soft, have the texture of brownies, and have chocolate and nuts in every bite. Elleno's Greek Yogurt is my all time favorite and I love that they're always there on Sundays when I work. I always get their lemon cheesecake and ask for extra crumble. It's creamy, not too sweet or tart, and the crumbly texture is really satisfying! I just grab a medium to share with my coworkers! I can't recall their name, but I tried a breakfast sandwich that had sausage, ginger, cheese, and egg. I am going to come back to get more because the bread in their sandwich is heaven, fluffy, toasted, and a little buttered! Lastly, there are two tamale places and over time, I really enjoy both. The tamale stand that has quesadillas as well, serve freshly cooked vegetables as a side with the choice of tamale! The sauces are great, but I think the service can be a little friendlier. The second tamale stand serves breakfast tamales and their specials are served hot, with a side of rice and beans if you'd want them, and they have really yummy horchata during the winter! I can't say enough about this farmer's market. I'm definitely going to come here and buy groceries as well on my days off!

Yelp
I've never been to a farmers market that I didn't like. It's an awesome opportunity for people in the core of the city to support small businesses from rural areas in western and central Washington. Fresh food is nice, too :-) Maybe because of space constraints, the Broadway Farmer Market doesn't have the variety of vendors and artisans that other markets have, but there is always at least one musician (most frequently the orange man playing violin.) Also, there are usually a few flower shops represented where you can get $5 bouquets, which is a huge bargain considering how many smiles you can give someone with just one bouquet of flowers. My favorite part of the Broadway Farmers Market now that it is on the corner of Pine/Broadway, is that it is on the plaza of the community college. When architects, developers and city planners carve away open spaces out of a block of land, they hope that people will do things like this with it.

Glenda J.

Yelp
Year round Sundays 11 am - 2 pm. Good quality and selection on organic produce and food. I love supporting local small businesses. I'm really torn when I'd compared prices against Metropolitan Market. Prices at the market are double and triple those at MM. All in all, this market offers unique things like shiitake mushroom kits to grow your own, micro greens, savory pies, mini Dutch pancakes, duck eggs. Parking wasn't as difficult as I had anticipated. I would be back for difficult to find items.

Yelp
Literally ran into this market and I am SO glad I did. It turns out that this market is open year around. It was pretty windy and wet yesterday but all the vendors had huge smiles on their faces. The market is great and has a diverse array of vendors from prepared foods to fresh produce. My heart skipped a beat when I saw Ellenos Greek Yogurt. I've heard and rave reviews and had been meaning to pay a visit but never had the chance. I walked up and immediately the girls offered me about 3 different samples. I ended up getting a small with lid of half marion berry and half lemon. Those are apparently their two most popular favors. The total came out to $3.90 which really isn't bad at all. The yogurt was delicious and I'm craving some as I write this. The market also had "melt" mac n cheese (delicious) and Rachel's Ginger Beer (a must try for all). I look forward to revisiting this market often.

Yelp
Words cannot express how much I adore Farmer's Markets, so naturally I am inclined to favor one that's literally a 10 minute stroll from my house, no? Since the Broadway Farmer's Market has re-opened for the season, it has become a regular stop on my Sunday tour (the boyfriend and I can oft be seen riding on our gigantic tandem bicycle from Cap Hill down to hit up Fremont's Farmer's Market & PCC, then ride aaalll the way back up to make a stop here!). Sundays are my "fancy cheese and bread" day, so I like to grab a few stinky (but oh-so delicious) cheeses from the Mt. Townsend Creamery and Samish Bay Creamery (both have very different offerings but are equally delicious and affordable). I also always pick up the mini lemon scones from Heavenly Pastry & Cake since they're only $1 for 2! There's also an abundance of fresh flowers, delicious smoked / fresh salmon, crepes, take & bake pizza from Zaw, and the most beautiful heirloom tomatoes I've ever seen. If you live nearby, it's a sin NOT to visit at least once to check out the local fare! Bonus points if you come by on a bicycle and ride off with a baguette in your basket, how Parisian!

Yelp
I had always wanted to come here and when I finally did, I didn't find anything special. Sadly, I ended up grocery shopping at QFC down the street. I was also hoping to get lunch here while I shopped but nothing seemed appealing so we went to Vostok dumplings instead. I'd come back again to see if it was just a fluke because it was Mother's Day weekend and it was mostly flower stands, but for a first visit, it was a bit disappointing.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of farmers markets, but where I used to live it was a 20 minute drive to the nearest one. I can walk here, and although I sometimes curse myself for getting carried away as I struggle back up the hill weighed down with bags, it's oh-so-worth the trip. Obviously the produce is seasonal and varied, but especially in the summer the choices are just astounding. I've seen vegetables here that I never even knew existed. I have to be careful to not get carried away and buy more than I can eat before it spoils, but I routinely buy lettuce, cucumbers, and berries here. There are several different flower vendors and I also always pick up a bouquet to brighten my apartment. Besides produce, there are other interesting items available such as honey, nuts, meats, cheeses, and baked goods. Several vendors sell food to eat while you wander about the market, so many people come and have lunch while they do their shopping. It can get crowded in the afternoon, especially if a cooking demonstration is going on. I love getting there right at opening when few people are around and I get first pick of everything. The vendors are always friendly and happy to discuss their goods, everyone seems to be having a good time, and there are plenty of cute kids and dogs running about. The only slightly negative thing is that there are often solicitors for charities or political candidates out canvassing, but they aren't aggressive and it's pretty easy to shut them down if you're not interested.

Yelp
I love a good farmer's market. Handpicking produce still clinging to the dirt from the ground from which it was picked, simply has an honest, down home feel you can't quite replicate in the supermarket check-out line. This little market is tucked away in a random parking lot behind Noah's Bagels. While small, there is a good representation of produce, flowers, eggs, and baked goods. After overseeing all the goods, I bought a dozen brown eggs, a bundle of leafy green lettuce, and a flat of melt-in-your-mouth raspberries that were so good they didn't even make it home. Farm freshness right to my fridge. Yum!

Yelp
K....two stands....the Mushroom Lady...yea...she has no real signs, but I have bought some of the strangest and most amazing shrooms from her. You can tell she is legit by looking at her hands cuz girlfriend is definitely out there foraging for these beauties. I have made some the best mushroom crepes after a stop on Sunday. Second is the seafood guys. They don't post this on their board, but if you ask nicely and bat some eyelashes they will sell you their smoked lox. And let me tell you...it makes the best lox and bagels ever!!! Only four stars b/c this market isn't big enough to get everything....Boo.

Yelp
Great little farmers market up on cap hill, the perfect post-brunch pit stop for flowers, produce, snacks and more. I picked up flowers but was eyeing a lot of the fruits and vegetables, which looked delicious and fresh. My friend picked up a mushroom growing kit which, in the week or two since she purchased it, has grown enough mushrooms to start cooking with (I gotta get one- they sound and look awesome !) Had a lot more selection than I would have expected since it looks pretty small passing by. Makes me even consider for a second battling for a parking spot in this neighborhood to swing by. :)

Yelp
Fantastic farmers market centrally located in Capitol Hill. Great variety of items such as produce, cheese, beer, flowers and even lunch items. Open from 11am to 3pm every Sunday rain or shine and in our case usually rain. Check out Collins Family Orchard and Alvarez organics, my two favorite stands.

Yelp
I love waltzing a block down the street on Sunday morning and being at the market. It's sad that it's only here once a week, and for only half the year, but you take what you can get. You'll always find a selection of flowers, a large number of veggie sellers, slightly fewer fruit stalls, and then a smattering (hell yeah 'smattering') of artisan products. Occasionally there's art, but this market tends towards the edible, not the aesthetic. One of my regular stops is the tent selling a huge variety of jams, pickles, jellies, and sauces like caramel and fudge. Try the Bread & Butter Pickles and the black currant jam (not at the same time). Other stalls include a guy making granola, honey, local cheese, handmade pasta, organic beef, salmon, and some baked goods usually of the sweet variety. All the vendors are very personable and are happy to talk about their products. Be sure to ask any questions you have, they've got a lot of good information about storage, cooking, seasonality, methods of production, etc. If you haven't found everything on your shopping list then detour to QFC for the last few items on your way home. Oh, and bring cash; more than you expect to need since you'll want some of everything.

Yelp
This is my local Farmers Market and usually I'm not so impressed with the selection or size, I do have to say the best raspberries of my life were purchased here. I loved them so much I bought 2 and ate 1 carton on the way home. So fresh and juicy! They have cheap bouquets that are absolutely beautiful, but you're very lucky if it makes it to a week. There was a tomato guy selling all kinds of mixed breeds, which was interesting just to observe all the Capitol Hill peeps eagerly oohhhing and ahhing over the hybrids. Sorry, but it's too small for me and I do like the craft stalls, so that's just my personal preference for what's going to bring me out of my apt on a gray Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Loads of Washington-grown produce and meats, along with some great snacks like pastries, ginger beer, ciders, and yogurt. One of the best farmer's markets I've found to spend an afternoon browsing and planning your nights feast. The vendors are generally very nice and carry a good variety of products, I was able to find rhubarb and peaches this week (May), and sometimes even goat is available. Goat is desperately under-supplied and I've never seen it for sale anywhere in Washington but here. Amazing.

Yelp
This market is on the smaller size. [They should expand and have more vendors in my opinion, it would bring more business] Only one street of vendors. A couple flower stands and a few hot foods. There was also cheese, jam, bread (gluten free included), goat meat, goose eggs (who knew they were so big), more eggs, fresh fruit and veggies and much more! This weekend there was even baby goats!!! Since it was so small, I decided to walk around and went to Cal Anderson Park went was right across the street to the right! I would come back again if i'm in the area but i'm going to try out the other farmers market to see how it is!

Yelp
Why does it take so long for me to find this one? It is far better than Pike Place, which is simply a tourist spot. The veggies are good and many in variety. The Columbia City Bakery booth is soooo nice. There is an Asian booth of hot food. I really like the one specialized in Tomatoes! Lots of variety and everyone delicious. I am going to come here frequently, probably every Sunday.

Yelp
Happened to walk by on Sunday. It used to be by apartment long ago so this is the first time I've been to it at this location. Anyhow, if you are in need of cheese, produce, bread or flowers, this is where you want to be. Multiple vendors of each. I did get some tasty locally made Kombucha (if you bring back bottle, you get $2 back). If I'm in the area, I'd stop by again. Now I live on the east side. Boo.

Yelp
The broadway farmer's market is awesome. Examples of things you'll find: - fresh fruits and veggies from local farms, of course - delicious bread - homemade ice cream - premade frozen gourmet dinners Prices are less than the local co-op groceries for the same organic produce, too :) Bring a bag when you go because not all the merchants have bags to give you. I recommend http://www.baggubag.com/

Yelp
I'm so thrilled that Capitol Hill finally got a great farmer's market!! There were a few failed attempts last year, but this current one is going strong and here to stay. Every Sunday afternoon, it's located in the Bank of America parking lot (near Noah's Bagels). Check out the honey guy and Willie Green's Organic Farm especially.

Yelp
I really enjoy the gentleman's salmon chowder and delicious soups. The bread is fresh and so is the cheese, after years of farmers markets you can always count on the quality being great. And the pastries are amazing. Thanks and keep it up ;-)

Yelp
It's early in the season as I write this review, so the selection is a little meh-worthy. I like leafy greens and cherries, and that's the bulk of the produce at the moment. I expect it'll get better as it warms up. In terms of prices, you're not going to do much better here than at the supermarket. More of your money goes right to the grower, though. Hit up the ginger beer sellers. There's a reason why there's always a line!

Yelp
I loved the old location, but because of the rapid growth on Capitol Hill they got boot out and a new building arose. The new location at the end of SCCC is a busy intersection, I find myself parking in the pay lot across the street; its a couple bucks for convenience (especially on those super hauls; flats of yummy fruit and loads of veggies) Must stops: Jonboy Caramels- Fleur de Sel and Whiskey w/smoked salt McPhail Berry Farm- All varieties of berries (^_^) I my GFF- Quinoa bowls- its a bit pricy but way more tasty The Farmers Market it a great place to try new foods and get the most bang for your buck. The Market transforms throughout the year, rotating vendors and more varieties of goodies. Keep an eye out and a open palate.
