Really nice and beautiful neighborhood park. The park has really nice big playground for the kids with swings and slides. The park has a really nice area for the physical exercise with the equipment. The park has baseball and basketball playground. has restrooms and have really big open field to walk and run your dog. The park has a nice picnic area with the chairs tables and barbecue grills.

I went to Capitol Park and had a nice time. The park was clean and quiet, a great place to walk around. I sat on a bench near the flowers and watched the people. It was relaxing. There were a lot of trees, so there was plenty of shade. The park was a bit busy around lunchtime, which made it hard to find a spot to sit but I still enjoyed my time there. The paths were easy to walk on, and I noticed some areas needed a little more cleaning but other than that it was a nice visit.

Lol, I thought they had a trail around the grass area. Now I wish they did. Nice park 👍🏼

Lots of PokeStops, so it's good for Pokemon Go. Lots of space for children as well. Bring a soccer ball and get a team ready 🙌🙌🤘🤘

I like this park. It has a playground, exercise equipment, basketball court, soccer area (blacktop) and lots of grass. My kids enjoyed themselves. We'll definitely be back!

Well maintained futsal courts. Also, a nice basketball court. The lawn needs maintenance. Parking is a challenge because of the mixed use of neighborhood and visitor attendance to area.

Capitol Park, one of the local parks in the middle of the Latinx community in San Jose. Capitol park is where you find folks playing volleyball after a long day of work, children playing around and running after the palateros/eloteros for some afternoon snacks. Although the place doesn’t look all that well, it’s the community that keeps it real and worthwhile. Make sure to pick up after yourself!

This is getting to be a really nice park. There has been recent work to upgrade the flower beds, add benches, and lots of new exercise equipment.

Yelp
Keep the hood Good, Oh fair east side! Grew up in this park had alot of fond memories here. Just so you know No don't come here after dark. Do not wear any gang colors. Do not walk around hard in this park if you don't belong. And Never underestimate this hood or it's residents. Hood rules apply

Yelp
Capitol Park (CP) is a fairly large (±11.6 Acres) neighborhood park that's located in the socioeconomically deprived Eastside Storybook Tract. Despite the cheery street names (i.e., Peter Pan, Bambi, Cotton Tail) that border this park, CP is not all it could be, because of it's surroundings. However, CP does have some nice features, which I've compiled--just for you! -Street Parking only -Standard Tot Lot & Playground with a non-functional (due to the drought) water feature, that could use an upgrade. -Reservable & Non-reservable Picnic Tables w/ BBQ Pits -Access to the Lower Silver Creek Trail that runs through the eastside of CP. -×1 Full & ×1 Half Basketball courts--which is a bit puzzling, because they could easily fit 2, or even 3, courts in the allotted space, if they wanted to. -Restrooms, with Eric W approved ceramic toilets. -Unlighted softball/baseball field -Terribly maintained lawn, that would be good for sports if you don't like your ankles. -Home of the Goss Community Center (GCC), that's a police sub-station and home to TABS (Truancy Abatement and Burglary Suppression). CP is also rife with gang activity (ergo the GCC); also, shootings (http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_26044286/san-jose-one-person-critically-injured-capitol-park) and deaths (http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_24589819/san-jose-young-man-shot-dead-capitol-park) are fairly common place. Personally, I would never stop by here if it weren't for the restroom, and that's the only reason I'm giving it 2-stars as opposed to the 1-star it probably deserves. It's a shame, because CP has tremendous potential and could be a solid 3-star park; unfortunately, it breaks Realtor Rule #1: location, location, location...

Yelp
Man, I don't even know... This park... This park takes 1st place on my list of bad parks.. If I had a list. Unkempt, dirty, messy... Does anyone even know to check in on the condition of this park? Sometimes when I bring my puppy over to my boyfriend's place, we walk him here since it is the closest accessible place to walk him. Unfortunately, it seems like most people here don't have the courtesy of picking up after their dogs. Dog poop everywhere!! Between trying to keep my puppy away from another dog's bacteria/disease-filled wastes and trying not to step on them myself... It's a huge and unnecessary struggle. Capitol Park is in dire need of a renovation, or at least a major revamp. Avoid if you can!!

Yelp
I am only giving it any stars at all because I live so close and that's the only awesome part. This poor park is badly mistreated. Everyone just leaves trash everywhere. How are my fellow parents not teaching their kids to clean up after themselves. The worst part is that I have seen very kind people out here on weekends cleaning it up and by Monday's it's garbage again. I feel like my neighborhood doesn't deserve a park. There are so Many trash cans. It would be great if people actually took a short walk over to them and actually used them.

Yelp
This is one if my neighborhood parks, and I'm proud to say that. Capitol Park usually has a negative connotation to those who are familiar with this 'hood or are East Side SJ natives... "Oh.. You live by Capitol Park?!" (In a concerned tone). But let me just say this park is all good. It's got a playground with baby swings and a toddler area, sweet basketball courts, updated soccer courts, beautiful pathways & trails, shady grassy area, decent picnic tables, and a little rec center where I see Zumba enthusiasts get down weekly. Lots of people bring their dogs here for a nice walk. But here's the truth... Come before 2-3pm and you're in for a nice, peaceful experience. After 3pm is where a lot of action will happen. And by action, I mean hustling ice cream and food stands, kids just getting out of school to play, families setting up barbeque dinners, serious adult basketball, volleyball, and soccer games, and the occasional beef between rival gangs lol.. Yea, that's the truth. But trust me, it's a good park if you try to avoid the latter.

Yelp
So i grew up around this park it was always pretty cool but they used to have more basketball courts and they removed them just to replace them with soccer goals and now there is only one basketball court when there used to be many and that one court is almost always occupied. While no one even uses the soccer goals.
