Capitol View Farmer's Market

It's a small farmers market, but I love that I am within walking distance from it. Great produce, and a decent selection of food carts if you'd rather not make dinner that night. There is always music and activities for kids. Dog friendly, so one of my pups and I make a walk through almost each week they are open.

It's 2023 and the Capitol View Farmer's Market is back! Still small, but still mighty, with super friendly vendors selling great products. Always fun to check out after work on Wednesdays between 3:00 and 7:00 PM!

Nice smaller farmers market by the great Dane Eastside. Usually there are a couple food carts, produce, cheese and a variety of other stands usually about a dozen total. The cheese curds are fresh and delicious. Toast, the panini stand, is the standout in this crowd. Usually can't leave without fresh donuts either.

This is a really nice, fun farmer's market. They usually have some great food trucks, so you can get your veggies and grab a bite all at the same time.

Nice little local farmers market, with a variety of food carts every week, and live music. Beautiful Green space area for kids to play.

People are really friendly and products are fresh and tasty, fresh cucumber, corn on the cob, tomatoes, cheese curds and many more, most products are organic, a very nice lady selling her hand made jewelry!

Very small but extremely family friendly and the music is great! Food trucks make it a great evening.

If you are expecting a farmer's market on the scale of the Dane County Farmer's Market on Saturday around the capitol, you are going to be disappointed. The Capitol View Farmer's Market is very small and located off Cottage Grove near the MetroMart. It has a nice view of the capitol building from atop the hill it sits upon. The market has what you would come to expect from a typical WI farmer's market from food trucks to live music to fresh produce to cheese (of course). The prices at this market are much more reasonable compared to what you may find around the capitol on a Saturday. Of course, the selection doesn't compare. I would like to stress that this is a very small neighborhood farmer's market so there is a very limited selection. If you are looking for a bite to eat or some seasonal vegetables, you will leave with what you came for, just be prepared to only have one vendor to choose from. This farmer's market is very relaxed, with plenty of green space to have a picnic and enjoy a snack with family and friends. It's not very crowded so feel free to bring a bottle of wine, dog, and/or frisbee to hang out for awhile. I would love to see more vendors show up to allow this neat market to grow!

Great little farmer's market right next to a small park. Live music, food carts, good booths! The vendors are very nice and the prices are reasonable. It's right across from Metro Market too, so you can get all of your shopping done after work if you need to! :) Nice if you don't like the larger crowds.

The Capital view farmers market is just off cottage Grove road next to the Great Dane. It is small, relaxing and not people packed,best of all they have my favorite cheese curds Farmer Johns ( salty and moist ). No charge parking is not a problem.

This is a small market in comparison to the one on the square but I love it. It is in my neighborhood and just the right size for our little corner of the world. You can find most people in my neighborhood eating dinner on the grass and listening to a local musician. I wish more food carts would mosey over but I know we are on the same nights as Concerts on the Square. The market is dog friendly and has a nice vibe overall. There are a great mix of people who have great products. Cheese? Cookies? Soap? Popcorn? Veggies? You can find it all!

The Capitol View Farmers Market has matured into a nice little neighborhood event every Wednesday afternoon and evening in summer. I went up there for opening day this season and they were busy which was great to see. A variety of vendors beyond your standard vegetables including baked goods, eggs and cheese from Farmer John! More food carts have been added as well an entertainment (there was a guy strumming on a guitar when I was there) and even events for the the kids. We picked up a bag of spinach and hit a food cart for dinner. Glad this is in my neighborhood!
