Exploring the arts, crafts and culture of the beautiful and little-known Franciacorta region (Lombardy, Italy)
"The Capitolium in Brescia was commissioned by Vespasian in 73 AD and is the most important Roman archaeological site in Northern Italy." - Matteo Morichini
The ruins are really interesting to see and there is an interesting video of their interpretation of what it would have been. However, the way the groups are managed really decreases the experience. Every 20 minutes, a group of 20 goes in and is rushed through everything, because the staff is in a hurry apparently. No time to go through everything slowly and constantly the other 20 people closely around you.

The Tempio Capitolino in Brescia is a stunning Roman temple built in 73 AD under Emperor Vespasian. Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it features well-preserved columns, marble floors, and informative exhibits. A must-see for history lovers, it offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life.

When buying tickets for this museum you get access to others as well so you can easily make a day of exploring ancient Roman sites. If you are a fan of history and ancient Rome this is a must. Short but very impactful. Go early to avoid big crowds.

If you like ancient buildings and sculptures that span the destruction of beautiful buildings and then discovery of things that were in them, this one's for you. It's a beautiful, well-maintained complex.

Beautiful site with the hill as a background. Really surprising and great site to view on the way from the castle to the main square.

Although the artifacts are fascinating, a lack of clear signage made for a very confusing and frustrating visit. The lack or inability of the guarding staff to help or understand you caused confusion for native and non-native alike. Still very much worth it due to the sheer beauty of the statue of the winged victory!

Was closed the day we visited on Monday. Big pity. But still in awe of this. An UNESCO world heritage site. This place is named as the Capitolium of Brixia or the Temple of the Capitoline Triad. Would love to go back and visit again. So we visited in the evening when the place is quite dark so imagine our surprise when this nicely illuminated temple appears at a corner.

Timed tickets only. You can see a lot without a ticket. But the roman bronze winged victory is magnificent and rare.
