This is the perfect place to go in New York City if you’re looking for a quaint, charming family owned pizza place. Best pizza we have had in NYC! Wonderful wine & beer selection as well! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy and the service is excellent. We had the pleasure to meet Will who took great care of us! Everything about this place is 5+ stars you would be remiss if you didn’t stop here! Thank you!

Will and Alison were the best servers, they took care of our table and were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. The food was AMAZING. I must say that I’m pretty hard to impress when it comes to pizza but this place was not only amazing with their savory pizza but also with their Nutella pizza (a must try). Ambience was great and my family and I had the best time.

Marinara on the pizza was fresh, tasted very clean and like real food, no weird chemical artificial tastes. Dough complemented the toppings well. Spinach arancini was ok- there was nothing wrong with it, just personally didn’t prefer the mildness of it so I should’ve just chosen a different menu. Waitress was attentive and quick to know what you needed without you trying to make eye contact for ages.

Fantastic quaint pizza place not far from port authority & Times Square. Great gluten free crust, incredible wine, and the caprese was delicious. Service was quick and kind. Overall an incredible dining experience

I was visiting New York and one of the few foods on my bucket list was good, Neapolitan pizza. This place did not disappoint! My favorite was the hot honey pepperoni - the roni was freshly sliced and thick. I also really enjoyed the prosciutto and arugula. Aside from the food, the service was great, and the vibe was perfect: polished, calm, warm, and comfy. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting authentic Neopolitan pizza in the Hell’s Kitchen area.

Had lunch here before a Broadway show and it was a great choice! The place feels like a little escape to Italy. Calm, cozy, and friendly staff. The pizza was light and flavorful, with toppings like mushrooms and onions that made each bite different. Very delicious! We ended up staying for dessert too. Tiramisu was perfectly sweet and bitter. Loved it! We will definitely be back to this hidden gem.

This place was just the intimate, quiet nook that I look for in the city. The Caesar salad was delicious, and my margherita pizza was just the way I like a wood fired crust. Chewy. Toppings were fresh. The sangria was red. If I had one criticism, I'd like a fresh fruit slice in the sangria.

One of the best pizzas I have had in the states. It looks so vibrant and fresh plus you have the best manager and staff. They have the old fashioned way of making the pizza which looks fascinating and tastes amazing. No post eating complaint and it hits your stomach well. There were vegetarian options and they can customise some of the items. Loved the ambiance and the service. We had a Margherita and one of their classics with peppers, mushrooms & onions. You pay for the experience so no complaints

I have been eating pizza for 60 years. This is the best pizza I have ever had. Simple as that. Small restaurant-maybe 12 tables-with very friendly, professional, attentive service and a very warm decor. Arrived at 6:30 to a mostly empty place, but by 7PM it was pretty crowded. Very clean, very comfortable, and very delicious.

I've walked past this spot so many times on my way to work and just noticed it for the first time tonight. We showed up right around 5:15, and we were surprised to see the place was already packed, but we were able to get a spot after a 20 minute wait. The pizza is pretty solid and they have a great salad selection. I also appreciated their very generous wine pours. But the best part about the place is the atmosphere and decor on the inside. I'd hang out here all day with some friends and a bottle of wine if they'd let me!

Fast friendly service, excellent pizza. Traditional wood fired pizza. Ordered the Neapolitan Classic #1 with pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. Not sure what varietal of shrooms those were, but they were very good!

Stopped in for dinner before a show and would definitely come back. Really cozy decor inside, and my one caution would be that it was VERY hot inside on this winter evening. We started with the pane and olio, which was good but not worth the $10, so I'd recommend avoiding that. We split margherita and eggplant parm pizzas and really enjoyed those. The Margherita was a little undercooked and the dough was very chewy, but the crisp on the eggplant parm pizza was perfect and absolutely delicious! For dessert, we split the Oreo truffle cannoli which was great. I'll give benefit of the doubt that the pizza is more often cooked like the eggplant parm and not the chewy margherita and rate 5 stars since that is definitely the potential of this place!

Cool, old school coal fired pizza joint. The menu is small, but still covers a lot of options - salad, pizza, wine, etc... The place is small so be prepared to wait a bit. We waited about 20 minutes. They updated us several times on how long the wait would be. Once seated we opted for an artichoke salad, a sausage and onion pizza plus a spinach special pizza. Everything was delicious and the service was great as well.

My sister and I stopped in at Capizzi for lunch while we were in New York. We each ordered our own wood fired pizza. I got the number 1 with peppers instead of mushrooms and it was phenomenal. The crust did get a little soggy (maybe from too many toppings) but I happily ate the entire thing. Service was quick and the interior was adorable.

Capizzi does have some solid pizza but honestly I feel like they've gone down in quality since the last time I've gone years ago. My family and I ordered the hot honey chicken, margherita, spinach white, and eggplant pies. Nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing stood out either. The hot honey chicken pizza I've had at other places and really enjoyed it but it completely fell flat at Capizzi- I firmly believe this pie needs it's red sauce. The eggplant pie was quite watery. The margherita and spinach pies were good but again, nothing to write home about. I will not be returning unless I'm in this area as there is no dearth of great pizzerias in NYC.

What an awesome find! Just around the corner from our hotel. Excellent service. Lovely, cozy atmosphere. Absolutely delicious pizza. They even brought extra fresh basil when we requested it. It was even slightly less expensive than a similar restaurant in our hometown in Arkansas. It was so good that we came back after the theater for dinner and coffee. The desserts are wonderful. We had the Oreo truffle cannoli, an espresso, and a French press coffee. The wait staff was eager to wait on us even though we were just ordering dessert. It was the perfect place and way to wrap up the evening.

The service is terrific and the restaurant is a throwback to 1960. Unfortunately the pizza is just ok. Not a spot I would be going out of the way for. The owner says that he wants his food to be just like his Nonna's. My only conclusion is his Nonna wasn't a terrific cook or she would be disappointed with the food at Capizzi.

The ambiance and service is a true 10/10! I loved how cozy this restaurant was because of its size, lighting, and decorations. It's a great place for a small group or even a date! Both of the pizzas honey chicken and proscuitto&arugular were delicious. I loved the bread and the crust. The honey chicken was a little underwhelming, it didn't have the hot honey kick that I wanted. The prosciutto was also a little dry and more difficult to eat but the flavoring was nice. I would go back again to try some of the other items!

Solid pizza in a cute spot hidden underneath the bridges of the Porth Authority Bus Terminal. Weird when you walk up to it, but you feel good once you're inside. The pizzas are truly great for the neighborhood, they are not the best pizza in NYC - but you can show up after a show for a pizza here and not have to line up at Razza or Lucali's which is way harder. The waitstaff is nice and accommodating. I think this is the place to drop by, get a pie, get a caesar salad, drink some chianti, and go to a show.

Excellent location in the middle of town. kind staff and a cozy environment. The cannoli is a lovely way to end the dinner, and the margherita pizza is wonderful and fresh. Strongly advised.

Found this cozy little spot for a quick dinner before a show in the area. Restaurant is a little tight, good for dates or smaller groups. We ordered two pizzas, a white (Truffle Funghi) and red. Personally a fan of truffle AND mushroom so the white was perfect for me! Crust tasted great dipped in some olive oil. Excited to come back to try some of their other specials.

This place is super cute and often has lines outside on the weekend! I was able to order some takeout and the staff was kind enough to give us water and seat us while we waited for it. We ordered the Arancini Spinaci and the Hot Honey Pizza. The Arancini Spinaci was delicious and paired well with the sauce it came with. I would definitely get it again. The pizza's are all personal sized and is a bit more on the pricey side. I would rate it a 8/10, the crust was soft and not too crispy and the honey paired well with the pepperoni. I wish it had a bit more sauce. I would definitely go back to try some more pizzas.

There are some Italian restaurants that just give you a very warm and homey vibe, and @capizzinyc is one of them! Their food are straightforward and with a homemade warmth to them. Service was great too! The pizza was nice but the eggs did make the dough soggy. Caesar salad was not overloaded with dressing but with a good amount of fresh cheese. Very refreshing!

Pizza was good. Service was fine. Quaint place right near our hotel. With so many pizza options in the area, this was good but we definitely wanted to try others.

Hands down, this is the best pizzeria in Manhattan! We are lucky to live nearby, where this is now our go-to weekday spot (I have seen long lines on the weekends). The personal-size pizza is honestly big enough to be shared by two. You can always add a salad or an appetizer to make it a complete meal. Every pizza is delicious here, but our favorites are the loaded pizza, prosciutto funghi, and hot Italian sausage/caramelized fennel. The restaurant is charming, with a wood-fired oven in the background making those delicious pizzas. The place retained this old farmhouse charm that you feel like you are in your grandma's kitchen. The sangria is also delicious here!! I wish they'd come in a carafe.

had the best pepperoni and hot honey pizza of my entire life here. it was so good that i went two nights in a row, back to back!!! cute hidden little spot, good attentive waitstaff and very laid back vibes. GET THE HOT HONEY PEPPERONI PIZZA!!!! trust me!

The food is excellent. The service started well then got slow and I got forgotten about. If I had been visited more than once I would have given 5 stars. It got so slow I could have left without paying.

Food Was Amazing. You Know you can't go wrong with New York pizza restaurants and this one was good. Caesar Salad was Amazing Very good dressing. All the pizzas were delicious they had a good selection and it came out fast. The Oreo cannoli was Very Good. The Service was quick and efficient and they brought everything out in under like 7 minutes.

Really cute, homey atmosphere with great pizzas and (surprisingly) salads! I'm not much of a salad fan, but I actually loved the Arugula Salad ($16) here. It had lots of good stuff in there with the apples and cranberries for sweetness, the savory goat cheese, and walnuts for crunch, among other ingredients. This was all the perfect combo. The only slight criticism was that the vinaigrette dressing was a bit too much, but that's just me being picky. As for the pizza, I ordered the Loaded Pizza ($23), which was great - soft crust, nice melted mozzarella, and lots of good pepperoni and sausage on there. The prices were around what you'd expect. I really liked the atmosphere, as the environment was decorated to be like old times (like the owner's grandma's house, according to the menu). There were lots of interesting framed photos and other unique things alongs the walls to make it feel homey. In addition, the slightly dimmed lighting and classic Italian music added to the cozy and intimate vibe. Among the interesting items, you can see an old fridge (which they still use) in the middle of the restaurant, along with an old TV (which probably doesn't work anymore), and also the brick oven with a fire inside that they presumably use for the pizza. Our waitress was friendly and the service speed was pretty quick. Overall, I would highly recommend Capizzi if you are looking for a quality Italian restaurant with a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

Great pizza from a really cool restaurant. Not being from NYC, I was looking for a diner and stumbled on Capizzi. So glad I did. The exterior caught my eye as somewhere that looked "old school Italian legit" but hip, so I gave it go. All of their pizzas looked great but I chose the chicken hot honey pizza. It was individual (but not too small), cooked perfectly, and tasted great. The interior of the restaurant was cozy and had great ambience. Took a minute to get a waiter to come over, but that was fine. Highly recommend Capizzi if you're near Hell's Kitchen.

The server was great good I have to critic. So pizza bread I have had better. Canned mushrooms and artichoke small place brick oven pizza but the dough makes the pizza so let's focus on that ppl.

We ordered the loaded pizza and it did not disappoint ... delicious. The service was great, the wait staff were very attentive. The ambiance was typical family owned restaurant in New York City - loved it (and my husband loved the old refrigerator). Highly recommend checking them out.

Amazing brick oven pizza, best thin crust, the ingredients were very fresh. Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Seems like it's been in the neighborhood for generations, but for 15 years. Family recipes passed down, very yummy pizza!

I simply like this place. Situated under the overpasses of port authority, it's cozy with good food and friendly service. Not much more to say here - I'm a repeat customer.

Small Italian place that with pretty fast service. My friend did not want meat on the special that had pepperoni & the waiter was kind enough to give her different options. The hot honey pizza barely had any honey on it & it was so thin that it was watery. It was like soup which your pizza should never be like soup. Recommend going somewhere else to get some NY pizza.

About $25 for a 12' takeout pizza. In the speciality column. We did not eat in, but it looked like a nice, intimate setting. Would recommend for small groups or dates of 2, even double dates. The prices aren't outrageous given the location. It is right under the port authority bridge, but in a safe feeling portion of 9th Ave

I was a little taken back by the c grade it had on the health inspection, but I was informed they had just got checked again and everything was great. They were short staffed, and there was a line so I knew it was going to be good. Even then ! the service was fantastic. The ambience was a little romantic with casual dining, but I honestly liked it. The food was perfect and immaculate. I was very impressed.

Typical Times Square tourist trap food. How disappointing to order white pizza and find it's bland and without garlic. I suspect I was served something that was sitting under a heat lamp. Awful.

The pizza was ok nothing the other word... the customer service terrible. I ask for 3 pizzas she bring me two. When I ask for the 3rd oneboven small pizzas ) then I ask foe 1 beer she bring me 2! I arrive 8:45pm the restaurant close at 10pm I order the food (they didn't arrive) and she tell me the kitchen close at 9 if we want some dessert when we didn't eat yet ??? Really we don't recommend Tue city is with full options to go to eat you don't need to go place like this! Is no cheep and the attention is so bad

Hidden gem near port authority! We usually steer clear of places in the area due to high prices and touristy crowds, but the decor and chill vibes of this Midtown West pizzeria caught our attention for a Valentine's Day dinner. Surprisingly empty, we headed over sans reservation for a date night. The indoor decor is beautiful--cute greenery and florals galore. We could see the wood fire oven burning from the window! When we entered we had our choice of seating, but the restaurant was definitely lively with locals. We ordered the margherita and eggplant. As sauce lovers, the whites didn't seem enticing but I am sure they're as delicious as what we ordered if not more. Very fresh and authentic pizzas, with a good Italian wine list that is perfect for date night or a casual hang out. We were so satisfied with two pies, and had leftovers for the next day. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

It been 11 years since I've last been in New York with my husband. And it's been 11 years since we have been here. It was the last place we went to on that trip (and we came here twice) - and it's the first place we came to when we came back. It's so refreshing to see that it is still here with friendly service (i.e. Her, "we have espresso or French press, black only, I have no milk for coffee" Us, "perfect") We came a little early (since our flight got in at 6- we were here at opening at 11) had a reservation at noon but got seated early. And it was a good thing. By 11:45 it was getting crowded. The cucumber salad is just as described. Cukes with roasted peppers, olive oil and salt and pepper. Which was refreshing and perfect for a pre-meal bite. The pizza.......ah the pizza. Thin beautiful pizza. Crispy and light with a smattering of deliciousness on top. As our waitress said, it would depend on what you put on it how heavy it is. But I like it with just anchovies. So nice and light and salty! Hubs had his with mushrooms and eggs! Also delicious. So fresh and hot that my mouth is slightly burnt and so happy. We will be back, hopefully before another decade passes. We are so happy this little gem made it thru the pandemic.

Basic pizza... nice ambience but overall it's a very basic pizza joint that acts bigger than they should. The staff however are amazing and great!! I had a soggy pizza, they refired it and it was very good round two

We chose this as our dinner spot for our NYC day trip and we were not disappointed! The ambiance in here is wonderful. The lighting is cozy and dim, there are many framed photos on the walls, and the fake plants help to set the mood. Service was incredible and attentive-- we got there just after they opened. The food was excellent as well, + Oreo cannoli was delicious, and the plate decorations were a nice touch. All in all great place!

This is our first visit to new York with my kids and I. We decided to try New Yorks pizza and see what is this all about . And thank goodness we found this little gem in Manhattan. Place is so adorable as soon as you come in it smells like pizza and the service is amazing they sat us right away. The pizza was amazing we devoured it the Nutella pizza was amazing too and the espresso I will definitely be coming back . Our sever was Abram

Capizzi is a quaint little restaurant near the theater district. I stopped for lunch with family before a show and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is small and quaint and the service was really goo. The second you walk in you are engulfed by the smell of fresh pizza. The restaurant serves alcohol so we had some wine with our pizza. Our group of 5 split three pizzas and the burrata salad. Overall I recommend Capizzi if you're in NYC.

I didn't care for the pizza at all, the crust had the flavor and texture of a communion wafer, and it's uniformity from what I saw on our pizzas and our neighbors leads me to believe that it's frozen food service crust. The wine was equally as bad, just don't, but they do serve two fine Italian beers and those are fun. The service was exceptional, but that and the beer was it's only redemption.

Margherita pizza was 10/10. The "Loaded Pizza" was a little flimsy causing the toppings to drop and create a minor mess. Overall food was fantastic, very filling as well. Service was very kind. Would've liked to see a more dressy uniform. A classic waiter uniform would have put the cherry on top in reference to the atmosphere. Aside from that, the atmosphere was wonderful, extremely cozy and homey! Would give a 4.5 because of the Loaded Pizza, but overall it is a five because of the Margherita pizza.

Would call this a bit of a hidden gem! The fried artichokes and arugula salad were solid starters. The burrata was good but wish it was creamier. And in typical NYC fashion didn't come with bread and had to pay extra. The pizzas were so so good. We got 4 to split between our group and my favorite was the arugula prosciutto. Next time I'd add hot honey. The wine options were less to be desired. For a more upscale pizza with pretty high prices I'd expect better than Gato Negro for a white wine option. The 1.5L bottle retails for $10...its bottom bottom shelf. Staff was friendly, nice ambience and overall would come here again for pizza.

I cannot believe that it took me 8 months living 2 streets down to find this amazing restaurant! They have a brick oven inside serving my favorite wood fired pizza. The flavor of the sauces, the ingredients, and overall crisp of the pizza was great. I prefer my pizza extra well done for that added crisp, but this place is a hidden gem next to port authority. If you have been looking for a great pizza spot in midtown/hell's kitchen, you HAVE to visit Capizzi! Rating: 8.9/10

Gotta give this intimate place top marks! It's got the "classic old school joint vibe" with delicious yet contemporary single serving 12' pies using fresh too shelf ingredients,. Lots of custom toppings choices, great crust and fabulous quintessential neighborhood NY pizza joint ambiance. Inexpensive yet tasty wines, delicious cannoli's and fast friendly service rounded out a great meal!
