NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Owned by an Italian American cooking influencer called The Food Boss, Capo Del Cibo (which means food boss) is a spot in the South Village with Italian food. It has green velvet chairs and things like burrata with fresh tomatoes." - will hartman

Food and service were amazing. Old school Italian cooking. Frank the Owner/Chef was personable and gave us details on every dish we ordered. Probably ordered too much but it was worth it. Prices were good for Manhattan. Will definitely be back soon.

Had one of the best meals we’ve had in awhile! Let’s start with that garlic bread 🤤Meatballs were perfection, chicken parm was crispy with perfect ratio of sauce and cheese. Veal chop Milanese was perfectly cooked. And then the cheesecake and rainbow cake were AMAZING. Service was fantastic and Mr. Food Boss himself was so humble and kind. We will def be coming back!

This place is amazing! I ordered the spicy Campanelle , so tasty and the perfect amount of spice! Very comparable to Carbones spicy rigatoni but I think Capos is better!! My husband got the veal parmigiana and loved it! Their espresso martinis are also so good! We will definitely be back.

I had a delicious meal. The spicy campanelle is so flavorful and the drinks were garnished so pretty. The staff is attentive and always right there if you need anything. Nice vibe. Good music choice also.

First visit just the wife and I - Food was great , drinks were great , customer service was perfect.. we will be back for sure… Second time around last night with the whole family - Despite a food issue on one of the 6 dishes - service was perfect, they corrected the issue, and overall was a great experience for the entire family! Only think missing was that 🍋 sorbet that we had last time!!

The employees were nice but felt like they were overcompensating. They wanted to provide good service by checking in and being around, but instead it made us feel like we were being rushed out. There were 16 servers for only 10 guests in the entire restaurant, so we were being watched the entire time. Persistent check ins while we were mid conversation and asking us to order entrees when our drinks/ apps didn’t come yet is a bit too much (then hanging over our shoulder staring at us as we asked for a few more minutes) Not a peaceful dining experience whatsoever. Not to mention that the food was also terrible and needs a lot of work. Incredibly tacky environment - save your money, unless you’re a 16 year old girl who wants to post a TikTok or selfie with the neon lights.

Went to Capo Del Cibo tonight and were really impressed. The outside sitting area is nicely set up, the people working there incredibly welcoming. I had an excellent glass of Sauvignon Blanc and my husband had a limoncello spritz that was large. They started us with a small bowl of olives 9 (really good) and some rich parmesan. They also left us a basket of garlic bread which was okay. I don’t think they need it, since i was more interested in the meal. We shared the baked clams that were out of this world. Then asked for the cook to make us Veal Milanese instead of Parmigiana which was dont really well. Spoke with the owner who was very sweet. It’s nice to know he has actual roots in Italy (as did his manager from Sicily) and the food is more authentic than you will find in Little Italy. We will definitely be back to this little gem in the neighborhood!

Recently had dinner here and it was incredible! From the staff to the food everything was wonderful. The food and cocktails were so delicious and beautifully garnished. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.
