Overview: Really good Italian Food Meal/Time: Dinner/Wednesday/Party of 5 Seated: immediately 446PM for a 5PM reservation Ordered: 503PM First ordered item arrived: 513PM Decor/Atmosphere: Nice classic Italian American Restaurant; high end casual Service/ Front of the House: Very nice and accomdating. Service/Serving Staff: Bread and water on the table within 1 minutes of seating. Jen is friendly and personable. She checked back regularly. Food: The Brussels & Buratta $16- appetizer... charred Brussel Sprouts served with a creamy mozzarella. You get a combination of flavors, nuttiness, sweetness and a bit of bitter. A really well balanced dish. The Chicken Parmigiano $29- hearty breaded chicken served over a bed of gemelli well sauced with plum tomato sauce topped with fresh basil. My wife had the Black Truffle Wheel $26. I had a few bites of this. The pasta is brought to the table in a wheel of Parmigiano. The heat from the pasta and truffle oil melts the cheese and in turns coats the pasta. If you like cheese, truffle and freshly cracked black pepper this dish is for you. Value: Really good value to quality and quantity. We had leftovers. Restroom: Men's Room single. Clean and well stocked. Bright with plenty of room. Will I come back?: Yes, I would come back. Next time, I will order the Truffle Wheel.

Last night was our first time at Capella. It was packed and lively. We did have to wait a bit too long to be seated but the food was worth the wait. The meatball appetizer was a perfect was to begin. The gem salad had anchovies which I loved. The chicken parm was delicious. The salmon was grilled and just how I like it. My friend the the bronzino which he enjoyed. Two others had the bolognese which they both loved! So we will certainly be back!!

Cappella Italian Restaurant in Needham, MA, I can confidently say that this establishment deserves a 5-star rating. The customer service at Cappella is exceptional, with a friendly and attentive staff that always goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The location is also perfect, with convenient parking and easy accessibility. One of the things that I love about Cappella is their easy online reservation system, which allows me to quickly and effortlessly secure a table for my party. The menu is filled with delicious options, but I highly recommend the fried calamari, meatballs, ricotta gnocchi, and grilled dishes. Each dish is expertly prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients that are sure to leave your taste buds satisfied. Overall, Cappella Italian Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine in the Needham area. The exceptional customer service, convenient location, and delicious dishes make it a standout restaurant. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to others

My first time at Cappella and I really liked it! The restaurant and bar were both busy and vibrant. My Manhattan was a perfect start to the meal. The meatball appetizer was yummy. The Gem Salad (like. Caesar) was delicious. My Tagliatelle Bolognese was great. I tried the Branzino, Salmon and Chicken Parm and they were all delicious. Great Italian spot in restaurant Rich Needham.

This was my first time to Capella's and I loved the atmosphere! What a cute spot and the decor was perfect. We started off with the Meatballs, Burrata and Brussel Sprouts & Aged Parmesan with Balsamic. Both were delicious but the Burrata & Brussels dish was my favorite starter. I wish I could have tried the Arancini but the menu was different than what I had viewed online. For my entree I ordered the Rigatoni Vodka with Ricotta Gnocchi instead and it was delicious! I loved the additional of the peas and onions but the sauce had an amazing spice to it! My coworker got the Truffle Cheese Wheel Pasta and it was delicious! Very rich bit definitely a must try! For dessert we had the Canollis (3 to and order) which were non-traditional. I enjoyed the shell more than the citrus cream filling. The menu was wonderful with tons of variety. Next time I will be trying the salmon! The service was awesome but sporadic once they got busy. The runners/bussers ended up servicing our check and retrieve it once payment was in place. Loved the teamwork and the overall experience was great! The gluten free pasta options were incredible also!!

Tonight we discovered the authentic taste of Italy right in Needham. This restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes that highlight the unique flavors of different Italian regions. Our group of four reveled in the delicious homemade braised meatballs and burrata, expertly paired with crispy Brussels sprouts, balsamic vinegar and slivered almonds. Our friendly server Lidia provided excellent recommendations for our entrees, which included house-made rigatoni vodka, with Calabrian chili, tomato and cream. A black truffle wheel with cacio e pepe rigatoni and a delicious chicken parmigiano made with plum tomato sauce and topped with fresh basil. Dessert was a piece of crème brûlée cheesecake and a slice of flourless chocolate brownie torte set atop raspberry sauce with a dollop of fresh creme. Every dish was crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and left us feeling full and content. The musician Carlo added a touch of elegance with his accordion and keyboard performance. I can honestly recommend dining at Cappella for a delicious Italian dinner. We will return again soon.

My waitress Lydia was amazing! Very polite and gave really good recommendations. The food was delicious. Will be back soon and most certainly hoping I get her again!

First time visiting Cappella last night and walked away impressed. This is a hidden gem that I have driven by 100 times and never tried before. The waitress we had was outstanding with amazing suggestions. This in my opinion was some of the best Italian food outside of the north end. We had the Bolognese, Meatballs, Arancini's, Burrata. We will be going back!

Yelp
Cappella is a frequent dinner spot for us because it's across the street from the hair salon we visit every 5-6 weeks. Why do we keep going back? The food is great, the service is very good, and the ambiance is perfect for us (upscale casual).  We were there again last night. We like to sit at the bar, have a cocktail or two, and share an entree or several small plates. We used the latter approach last night.  My fiancee had an earlier appointment than mine and finished before me. She walked across the street to grab two seats at the bar before it filled up--it frequently does by 7:00 or so, in our experience. She ordered a Manhattan and the Woodfired Octopus special appetizer. She finished it before I arrived :( She says it was excellent, and I believe her. When I arrived, I ordered a Manhattan of my own and the Woodfired Squid, which came on a bed of dressed arugula and fennel with pistachios. It's a new addition to the menu, and I CAN'T WAIT TO ORDER IT AGAIN! It was fantastic. We've had many other dishes here during previous visits and have been happy every time. Our only complaint--more of a wish really-- is that they would add a second bar tender during their busy days/hours. If you like upscale Italian and are in the area, I highly recommend trying Cappella.

Yelp
Small neighborhood place with lovely ambiance and food. We enjoyed the meatballs and the vodka pasta. Winter sangria was solid. Service was very attentive. I would definitely return. Recommend reservations.

Yelp
Came in here for early dinner with the kids and everything was excellent. We LOVED the calamari and specifically loved that it was grilled not breaded and fried. I feel like it's so rare to actually get calamari prepared that way--light, fresh, so tasty! I have been dreaming about cheese wheel pasta and love that I don't need to go into the city and deal with terrible parking etc... The truffle cheese wheel pasta was excellent! The brussel/burrata appetizer was cooked to perfection. The brussels were crispy and had charred bits just like we love them. We will be back very soon.

Yelp
Fantastic service in this space. I was received and seated right away but had called ahead and my timing was before an evening rush. Nice ambiance. The pasta was excellent, sauce was perfect in temperature and acidity. I loved the flavor. Meatballs were good, i am from south, so my taste for meatballs is slightly different. These were good but i prefer less bread crumbs, and more sauce. I was visiting but if I lived there this would be on my regular favorite list. Great job Capella's.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner with friends at Cappella. Appetizers were amazing, especially the octopus. We all enjoyed our meals but it was the chicken parm and the truffle parm pasta that everyone voted as the best. To add to the experience, our server was spectacular - engaging, thoughtful, and yet mostly left us to our own devices. We'll be back!

Alex G.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. Wife and I had the Brussels and Burrata to start. We also had the wood grilled octopus. The octopus is one of my favorites, I get it every time. For dinner, my wife had the cheese wheel pasta. I had a few bites, it is delicious. I went for the 16oz ribeye, medium rare. The Yukon mashed, and asparagus were perfect. The finished with the home made, salted caramel gelato. We didn't think we had room for more, but I'm glad we did. One of the best desserts I have ever had.

Grace B.

Yelp
Nice Italian spot, the bread was EXCELLENT! Great service and well made cocktails. Inside was a little loud, but did not take away from experience.

Anna L.

Yelp
I love the food here, but my last visit was truly disappointing. I made a reservation for 7 pm to celebrate my college graduation with my family, and upon arriving at 6:50 for our table of 3, we waited until 7:45 before being told that our table was given up once again my a group at the bar. We were very excited to have a meal here, and in the past the food and service were great, but waiting inside the small area near the door for nearly an hour without receiving a table was unfortunate. It was disheartening that the manager told us it gets busy sometimes and waiting is normal, even after making this reservation nearly a month in advance for the special occasion. We ended up leaving because of no confirmation we would be able to sit within the hour. Just a warning for those in the future, your reservation may be disregarded.

Yelp
10 out of 10. 5 stars. 2 thumbs all the way up. Rarely will my husband and I equally enjoy the same restaurant. For the last 90 minutes, neither of us have stopped talking about how much we LOVED this experience. First. The bread. Come on. Probably the best smelling bread I've ever been near. I'm not a big bread eater but I was surely tempted. My husband devoured it like it was potentially his last meal. Next, the octopus. Texture-eaters, have no fear. Tender, delicious, and the accompanying flavors on the plate were to die for. I think they should sell their rosemary aioli by the quart ‍. Trying to convince me to eat brussell sprouts is no easy task, but they were *world class*. Cheese wheel pasta. I'm fairly certain my husband shed a tear of happiness while eating it. Pasta was perfect and whatever kind of magic is infused in the cheese wheel changed our lives. Finally - the Salmon. Listen. I'll put salt on ANYTHING. Anything. I didn't need a single grain of salt nor pepper because the salmon was *perfect*. The whole meal from start to finish was superb. Sweetheart server Lucy and the hospitality of Chef Gary were heartwarming and memorable. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Had dinner tonight and food was amazing as usual. Cappella is my favorite restaurant in Massachusetts. If you haven't been here, your missing out!

Christine C.

Yelp
This is seriously well prepared and executed Italian food. This is a must visit. Highly recommend. Everything we've ever ordered was delicious and well prepared. ( prime burger, bolognese sauce over fresh pasta, chicken parmesan and Cheesy/creamy Arancini Balls.) Definitely, worth a visit!

Theresa A.

Yelp
Walked in on a Wednesday nights, 3 servers walking around and not too busy. Left after standing for 10min at the hostess stand with no greeting or acknowledgement.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Delicious food and wonderful service. Recommend for special occasions or drinks and apps at the bar.

Sabrina B.

Yelp
Hostess was quite rude and unfriendly but luckily a server came over to help us after she refused to seat us despite several open and set tables. Truffle pasta was delicious.

Larry C.

Yelp

All in all we had a wonderful time...Cappella in Needham is a must try Restaurant..

Kristin V.

Yelp
Just fabulous. The fresh homemade pasta is so delicious that I often get a few for the table to split for apps because I can't pick just one! The cocktails and wine list also superb. The best staff and favorite restaurant in the area!

Robert W.

Yelp
Food was acceptable. Service was good. There was loud piped in noise which made it necessary to shout to others at one's own table Definitely not the place for a romantic meal Definitely not suitable for business or scientific discussion. Would work well if you have a date with whom you do not wish to carry on a conversation

Bendy E.

Yelp
OK Italian place, nothing phenomenal in my opinion. Our table got the gnocchi, chicken parm, tagliatelle, tuna tartare and scampi. All dishes were just fine, nothing excellent. We will check it out again for sure to try some of the apps and the veal dish, but if I'm being honest sweet Basil has much better dishes.

Gary G.

Yelp
What a gem this place is! Foods great can't beat the service and the restaurant itself is clean especially the bathrooms. I would absolutely recommend Cappella to anyone in the area or even coming from out of town. Oh how could I forget the chicken Parm and Tuna tartare is die for! Keep up the great work Cappella!

Yelp
My wife and I visited on what was, apparently, their first night being open to the public (we have long been waiting for them to open for months and they had numerous delays.) The interior is cozy and warm; it feels a bit like a a restaurant you'd find in Boston's North End. We found the staff very welcoming, attentive, and eager to please. As we sat down at the bar, our bartender, Liz, noted that they were out of several items. We ordered a barolo (very tasty, if a bit on the pricey side at $16.) We noticed that a couple, next to us had the risotto and the chicken. Both dishes looked terrific and I asked them how they liked them. She said that the risotto was excellent and that her husband found the chicken one of the best he's had! Good enough for us. We ordered one of each. (We were warned that the chicken took 30 minutes to prepare.) The risotto came out very quickly and it was rich and tasty with good chucks of mushroom and was imbued with the lovely aroma and taste of truffle. It was very satisfying, however I found the portion just a bit on the small side. Now the chicken...definitely worth the wait. It was cooked perfectly; very (and I mean, very!) crispy on the outside with tender and moist meat. It was served along with a few roasted potatoes (not the red bliss as advertised; not an issue, but...note to Management: please add a few more here!) It also came with a side of rabe that was decent. As for sauce, I did not detect a good deal of it, which the dish could have benefited from. With that said, I would agree with the gentlemen next to us -- it was an excellent preparation of the chicken; one which I will definitely order again!! Toward the end of our meal, the chef came out to chat with us and ask us how we enjoyed our meals; we appreciated that. Overall, we found our experience very comfortable and enjoyable and we are excited to have Cappella in the neighborhood. They are clearly working out the kinks in staffing and in the kitchen, but all seemed, relatively, in command and not flustered, and the quality of the food was excellent. We look forward to returning very soon!

Maya B.

Yelp
Black truffle wheel pasta was delicious, my partner and I went and it was the perfect amount for both of us. Staff was nice but a bit overwhelming.

Ron M.

Yelp
Great food but possibly the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. Like an echo chamber sound tunnel. Don't expect to have a conversation with your table mates unless you scream and have really good hearing. Truly unbearable. Other than that, great meal.

Dick G.

Yelp
We are very lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant in Needham, MA. Food is absolutely excellent. Service is great and their outdoor seating is perfect for families with young kids. They have high chairs and young families are welcomed. The cheese wheel pasta which I didn't get a photo of was 10/10. Delicious. You cannot go wrong here.

Melissa C.

Yelp
**Updating my review as I misrepresented the amount of a dish. In addition, the owner has reached out to us to resolve our issues and we are satisfied. I love great service and the responsiveness of Rob has been very appreciated** We were a group of 10 coming to celebrate a graduation and were seated promptly. It was a Monday and an early dinner so we were the only table seated. I'll start by saying that the service was impeccable. The entire staff who assisted our table were phenomenal and our waitress was very sweet. She even walked my mom to the car with an umbrella because it started to rain. So....I just love her, actually. The decor is warm and inviting and the drinks were good. Many of us ordered the Strawberry Basil and enjoyed it. The Good. The Brussel sprouts with buratta were a favorite at the table and all around tasty. Perfect amount of balsamic although I wish the burrata wasn't so cold. I personally like my brussel sprouts crispy so I enjoyed it, but I'm sure others would say they were a little burnt. The tuna tartar was also really good and a nice portion size. I ordered the Gemelli pasta with fennel, sausage, escarole, & parmigiano. I really liked it. It has a slight spicy heat to it due to the chili and fennel pollen and the pasta was well cooked. Very flavorful. The ok. The salmon was dry. I could imagine it being good if it were not over cooked. The 2 people at my table who always cook ALL their food to its 2nd death liked it. If you're considering ordering it, let the staff know your preference. My sister-in-law got the shrimp bruschetta. She liked it. The bad. Lobster Fra Diavalo was a special for the day. It was $28 for one dish and was not meant to be shared, as our waitress told us. My daughter asked what other seafood was in the dish and the waitress said only lobster. We have never had a lobster fra diavalo with only lobster as we usually order it at The Daily Catch which, if I may say so, is perfection. My son, husband, and 2 daughters shared 2 orders anyway and the waitress nicely split it for us, but when it came it was literal spaghetti with absolutely NO seasoning and a measly piece of lobster in each plate. I am sure it would amount to about one full claw. We ordered 2 of them so I paid $56 for spaghetti. Just so we are clear, the night before we ordered lobster rolls from GRUBHUB (!) from a place near our hotel in Dedham. They had 3 times the meat as this dish, the meat was super fresh....and it was like $18. I'm not trying to give this place a hard time but what we were served for $28 is NOT acceptable. Someone else in my group left a review and Chef/Owner was not pleased but, again....so we are ALL clear, not one of our servers ever asked how was the food. Possibly because they knew. Our plates were cleared promptly. I would have sent both dishes back but someone ate the lobster meat...it was just a bite....seriously....and left a big plate of tasteless spaghetti. They said the lobster was decent. Just wish it were more. The Chef/owner reached out to another person in my group regarding their dissatisfaction and I love that type of service and, honestly, their Menu looks great. I would give them another chance.

Julie O.

Yelp
Pricey for the quality. Childrens' chicken fingers were overdone (borderline charred). Steak frites was heavy on the frites. Gnocchis were just so-so for a place that boasts homemade pasta. Grilled shrimp was very, very salty. Chopped salad was meh. No jalapeños for the jalapeño and cuke cocktail on the menu. Service was slow. Pacing of food was slow. Atmosphere is ok. A bit loud inside, so outside seating might be a better choice. Host complained / lamented that people were lingering too long at the high top so he'd have to seat us at a low top. Not exactly a warm welcome to linger and spend $$$.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Wow! This place is beyond amazing!! Had an amazing brunch at Cappellas! I ordered Chef Robs personal selection of Lobster Omelette. It was so creamy and delicious. The lobster portions were perfect and I had a piece in every bite! It came with the most perfectly crisp bacon (I'm super picky on my bacon crispness and this surpassed even how my husband makes it (sorry babe)) as well as perfectly cooked hash brown. They also had a Bloody Mary bar. I was in heaven. I'm also a Bloody Mary fan and have NEVER found a restaurant with a Bloody Mary mix I loved. Well that changed for sure! He had add ins that I would never expect. So much I am stealing the idea! I live in NY but I can guarantee that if I am by there again that will be my go to place! If brunch was that impressive I can't imagine lunch or dinner!! Yum! Oh also, we had a party of over 12 people. The staff didn't miss a beat and the owner came to sit with us! So impressed! Great job Cappella! Let us know if you open a place on Long Island

Mara M.

Yelp
Awesome new restaurant in Needham! My husband and I had a date night here last night and thought everything from the staff, the ambiance, the food, and wine was 5-stars. The waiters gave us delicious recommendations for both food and wine which is something that I highly value. We started off with the tuna tartare, then got the octopus appetizer, the beet salad, and then for our mains, we decided to go with 2 kinds of pasta, the Rigatoni, and the Gemelli. It'll be hard to not order the same thing when we go back as it was amazing but we definitely want to try all the other items on the menu. We will for sure be back!

G R.

Yelp
We went to Cappella for a birthday dinner. Service was great and there are a few vegetarian options. The pastas were fantastic and in plentiful quantity. Drinks were also good.

Darlene D.

Yelp
What a pleasant experience we had at this new restaurant. The decor was chic and inviting. The staff werfriendly and attentive and the food was excellent. We had the meatballs for an appetizer, the gemelli pasta dish and the chicken, all were delicious. The wine list was very extensive and the servers recommendations went perfectly with our meals. We look forward to our next dinner here. Thank you Cappella. Made it back to Capella and couldn't be more pleased. The food was just as delicious as our first time here. Nothing disappointed. The lobster pasta was amazing!!!

Bryan C.

Yelp
One of the best service experiences I've had in a while. The wait staff was super attentive and also took the extra effort to show us the specials he was bringing to other tables. Whether it was the salmon or veal chops, he got us excited. The best part was that he scraped a couple pieces of the truffle cheese wheel to let us try and told us to eat it with our steak. In terms of the food, it was alright, nothing super special. We ordered the big tomahawk steak to share, and I would have preferred it to be a little hotter. The beef was more of a room temperature and slightly undercooked in certain areas. The gemelli pasta with sausage was probably my favorite. And my mom ordered the scallops that were perfectly cooked, but I was very meh about the quinoa/veggies underneath it.

Jen K.

Yelp
I have now been here twice and the food has been fantastic! I was not impressed with the bar and the cocktails on my first visit but I took it all back on my second visit, perhaps it depends who's behind the bar? Blood Orange Margarita was awesome, tangy with a slight spice and not sweet~ very well balanced. I look forward to visiting again very soon ~

Merredith L.

Yelp
The food was VERY good. Customer service was awful. We all ordered different dishes and they were tasty and very nicely presented. The service and management was VERY upsetting. The reason for the 2 star review is that when the check came, we realized the server charged us for a much more for the bottle of Chianti wine than the one we ordered. When we noticed the mistake, we discreetly mentioned it to our server who said "well I showed you the bottle before I opened it". She then went to the bar to explain the situation to the bartender / manager named Jurgen. I walked up to the bar, gently explained the server's mistake and then was berated for not knowing the difference in types of Chiantis. He loudly and repeatedly told me that I should have known the difference and shouldn't have drank the bottle of wine. I suggested that they leave the wine menu on the table for reference for future patrons so this wouldn't happen again and he again told me that I was wrong, that no restaurant would do that, that I should "educate myself" before I order a bottle of wine next time and that I should "know the difference between a burger and a piece of fish. It's not that hard." He took $20 off of my check, said he refused to take more off because (again) I should know better and it was my mistake. So disappointing as we would have come back for the lovely menu offerings many more times to come. Guess we'll go elsewhere until they can find out how to treat patrons & own their mistakes.

Ariana L.

Yelp
This restaurant is going to be the new staple of Needham. From my perspective, this restaurant has got almost everything right. Save the service that I got when I sat at the bar. Their bar is understaffed. I sat at the bar with a friend expected normal bar service. I wanted enough attention that I could order my food and drinks at the normal cadence. That's not what I got. Despite FOUR attempts to alert the bar tender that we wanted to order dinner, and this was now five minutes AFTER we had completely FINISHED our appetizers, the bar tender waved us off and acted irritated that we were so eager to order our dinners. We had to ask a busser/host aide who was cleaning our glasses to order dinner and I think it was finally her that was able to get our dinners in. This type of service is unacceptable. I would have given them 5 stars had it not been for this. I had the Roasted Duck Breast, apple cider duck au jus, Brussels sprouts & roasted root vegetable hash- this is a must try. It's exquisite. I was absolutely blown away by the technique in this dish. The duck breast were crisped on the outside and succulent on the inside, the apple cider au jus was playing delicately with the duck and really providing the perfect level of acidity to the dish. The vegetable hash was light, pleasant and earth forward. It was cooked perfectly. We also had the Eggplant Melanzane, San Marzano tomatoes, basil & parmigiano. This was a classic melanzine, with generous portions of cheese and fresh parm. It was elegantly flavored with just the right balance of sweet and savory mix in the sauce. I loved this dish, although it could've been hotter. Overall this was a wonderful experience. Perhaps I will change this rating if I go back and find they've addressed their service shortfall at the bar. I updated my review tonight. The service was much better this time around. I had the chicken parm and the beet salad and it was delicious!

Scott O.

Yelp
I am not in this area frequently but will be back to eat at Cappella. The service was wonderful. The Aperol Spritz reminded me of being back in Italy. The pasta was to die for. The outdoor seating was a bit cramped but it was still better then being inside. But don't get me wrong, the inside is beautiful, just during Covid, it's not ideal. The hamburger was juicy and delicious. The appetizers were lovely! Very happy with this restaurant and we will return.

Hal B.

Yelp
Although I'm a Needham resident, this was my first time at Cappella and it was excellent! Not inexpensive but everything we had was fantastic. The wood grilled cauliflower and crispy brussels sprouts with burrata were both really good. Our table shared the cheese wheel pasta which was outstanding. My salmon was delicious and my table mates loved their eggplant. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Clarissa C.

Yelp
Just nasty and overpriced, I feel like we were tricked!!!!!! So mad at myself for even coming in. Please please don't do it to yourself it's a lovely place with wonderful servers but the food is disgusting. I feel like they really tried but just failed horribly. I think they may have gotten their sauce recipe from boyardee. It deserves -2 stars Rob from cappella contacted me about my comment and was very nice and offered for me to come back but I'm leaving for Chicago today but Darlene D is in my messages calling me ridiculous and I should be ashamed and told me I've never been to an upscale restaurant before. Darlene D is not helping the cause ijs.

Yelp
Had dinner last night at Cappella after having not been there for a couple of years. Everything was amazing. The garlic shrimp/focaccia bread app was delicious as was the gnocchi and spaghetti. They have increased Beer options since last visit, nice wine by the glass options as well. Great to see they were busy and the owner overseeing all dishes before served.

Yelp
I checked out this place for the first time. I was very pleased. The decor is great. The menu has a nice selection of appetizers, salads, pastas and seafood and meat options. It's not a Red sauce Italian kind of place and offers something for all tastes. My entree was the roast chicken, which was better than any French restaurant. My wife had the cod with puréed squash which went very well together. Prices are on the high side but reflective of the high end ambiance and quality ingredients. The space is small so service was very attentive. I don't drink so I comment on the drinks but they have a full bar. I would give them 5 starts but $4 for a small cup of coffee was excessive. I would definitely come back and bring friends!

Yelp
Love this place! I've been a few times and everything has been fantastic. The bolognese might be the best that I've had anywhere! The chicken parm is also excellent. I even love the bread/oil that they start you off with. Everyone here is extremely friendly and accommodating. One of my favorite spots!

Yelp
The bad(sad): Cappella kitchen failed the classic bolognese test miserably. Did it taste bad? No. Was it loosely crushed up meatballs, the same as the meat in my meatball appetizer? Yes. They didn't even try to hide it as my "bolognese" had a meatball halve in the dish. Gnocci was average with no soft "pillowy" texture to make it in any way memorable. Mussels could have been good but no broth to dip/soak the three crostini given. Although a good wine, offering one cabernet by the glass was yet another disappointment. The good: Intimate in size, modern decor with tasteful copper hammered high tops and etched wine glasses. Good effort at pre dinner gin and vodka cocktails. Dining at Cappella again would be unlikely.

Yelp
WE'LL BE BACK. !! The service, food and wine at Capellas was impeccable. They had professional staff that helped with everything. The server Mike, was helpful in describing all the dishes we were interested in. Everyone was very attentive. From the appetizer, to the veal chop and creamy ravioli with truffles, we topped it off with the creme' broullie which was torched to perfection. We ordered food for take-out, and will enjoy it again tomorrow! All in all, a great experience.

Yelp
Three out of four of us were disappointed by our dinner at Cappella, which is most unusual for this easy to please group. To begin, we were curtly informed that yes , we have a reservation, and after being led to the table, endured an ill tempered waitperson. This is no way to treat customers, especially ones trying the place in hopes it was as good as Chez Robert. It's much larger and was full of diners, but quality food did not follow. We discerned a lack of spice and taste in salads and and overuse of cheese and salt in entrees. We are locals , but with no plans of returning soon when all we could like about our meals was the shared bottle of wine. Tip: Be nice Maybe when you can be, you will get some of us back to try new menu suggestions.

Yelp
I sat at the Bar, bar chairs are super comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Great service, good food.. the portion sizes are Huge! A couple could easily spilt a salad and entree as an entire meal. The bartender was very friendly and made just enough conversation. I got there around 5pm , there were two couples there, it started to pick up about 6:30pm.

Yelp
We dined here last night with friends, but will wait awhile to try going back. First, the place was extremely loud, at least where we were sitting. Unless you were right near him, you couldn't even hear the waiter saying the specials. It was impossible to have a conversation across the table. The owner told us that they were going to do something with the ceiling, so maybe that will help. Also, the kitchen was extremely slow. It took an hour to get our appetizers. Then another 45 minutes for the entrees to come out. The owner apologized and told us the kitchen was backed up. There was even another party waiting for our table. On the other hand, we all enjoyed the food - pastas, chops, and fish. We thought everything we had was well prepared and fresh. We would definitely like to see the restaurant succeed, so we'll be back again. We'll just maybe wait until they get the acoustics fixed.

Yelp
What a great surprise this restaurant was. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff were spot on! We had tartare for an appetizer and the bolognese for dinner. A must is to have Bob make you his Pumpkin Martini, the best I ever had! Thank you for a great night, we will be back!

Yelp
So-so. Food quality and service are good. Room acoustics are poor and quite loud. Limited menu and pricey. Not the best place in Needham but ok.

Yelp
Such an amazing evening during such difficult times. The waitstaff went above and beyond; the food was decadent. We ordered the pork belly appetizer which was delicious. Our entrees consisted of chicken parm and bolognese. Both dishes were fantastic, homemade pasta and the portions were more than two people could finish. Highly recommend. It was obvious that all COVID19 recommendations were strictly adhered to and were being taken very seriously.

Yelp
I have enjoyed eating here several times before the virus restrictions and now have gotten takeout once the experience dining in was always excellent and now my first takeout experience was just as good. Meatballs are fabulous and the basic chicken parm was spectacular. I loved the pork chops with vinegar peppers. I was able to give them my credit card number over the phone and they delivered my order to my car out front.
