Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar

This place is one of my favorites to visit when we come down to LA from OREGON! This last trip was by far one of the best! They now offer sandwiches and it was so tasty. My wife ended up stealing half of it! The croissants are so fluffy too. The ham and Gruyère is my absolute favorite! Gelato is always on point! And the flavors are so good! The awards are toast to that! Whenever I have friends visit LA I always tell them to try this place!

Honestly, love this little gelato shop. Bacio di Latte is still my favorite, but I would say that Capri is a close second. They also serve drinks and bakery items as well. It’s located on busy Lincoln Boulevard near the MDR and Culver West border. They have a small parking lot in back, but I was able to find a street spot for free right out front. The lady behind the counter was extremely polite and had one of the nicest smiles that I’ve seen in a long time. It’s quite small on the inside, they only have a few tables to eat in, but most people choose to order to go, which is what we decided to do. They have a lot of great flavor options and they rotate seasonally and weekly. For my first visit, it took some time to decide what I wanted to order because there were a lot of great options. I finally decided on the Sea Salted Caramel and really liked it. It had great flavor and I would definitely order it again next time I stop by. I also want to try some of their coffee drinks as well. I would definitely recommend and plan to be back in the near future.

Gelato and coffee shop. It was hard to tell if the shop was open when I entered from the back alley. I had 70% chocolate and raspberry gelato. The coffee was pour-over Ethiopian, but the staff didn't know how to make it properly, so it was bitter and not to my liking.

Since season 2 of White Lotus I've had this deep sadness about missing Italy a place I used to frequent. After living in the desert for the past couple of months, we've been far away from good ice cream et al. And Gelato wasn't even a consideration! Discovering this place today met both my craving for something sweet and warm memories I needed of Italy. The staff was incredibly kind. They answered all of my questions, managed my probably overwhelming or annoying joy (LOL), they were patient with my son and patient with our dog. They have a flavor, that has apparently won an award, and Im not the lease bit surprised because it is DIVINE!!! Passion fruit and goat cheese - everyone should have the privilege of trying this at least once in their life! I got the medium size so I could have 3 flavors. The others were milk chocolate and pistachio- which probably the best pistachio Gelato I've had since Italy. The whole vibe in this place was magic much like I feel when I'm in Italy. Grateful we happened upon this place today! 🍋

I really wanted to love this place, especially since I came in specifically for the espresso, but I left pretty disappointed with the coffee experience. I ordered a small iced latte expecting what any latte around the world would have—an espresso shot. To my surprise, I was told that only the hot lattes come with espresso, which honestly makes no sense. I essentially got a cup of milk with a splash of cold brew, not what I came for at all. When I asked for an espresso shot to fix the drink, I had to pay extra, which brought my total to $8 for something I should’ve received in the first place. That felt frustrating and unfair. That said—the gelato? Absolutely incredible. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve had in LA. Worth the trip for that alone. If I can offer some feedback: please rethink how iced lattes are made here. When people come in expecting an espresso-based drink—especially with your Italian roots and branding—they’re expecting an espresso in their latte by default. If someone wants cold brew, they’ll usually ask for it. It’s a small change that could make a big difference in customer experience.

This review is specifically for our Too Good to Go order. They are the only ice cream shop that currently offers TGTO in my area (West LA). We got one pint of Spice Tea Latte gelato for $6! The flavor is rich and not overall sweet. Highly recommend it!

The coffee is wonderful, gelatos are delicious (passion fruit goat cheese is amazing!) and the staff are all so wonderful. We look forward to each time we go in and know we will be greeted with friendly smiles. Chris, the manager, is just so lovely and she has a great team along her side. The cafe is clean and inviting and they’ve done a wonderful job with their branding as well. Oh and also, while their croissants look too perfect to be real - they are and they are also delicious! Don’t cheat yourself and forget to try one as they will sell out. All around cannot recommend Capri enough.

The gelato here is the best I have ever had, so many flavors and they will let you try all of them if you want. I tried a few before landing on the cookie butter which was amazing. The boy behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. They also serve coffee and pastries but the gelato is definitely what to come for. Highly recommend

Amazing taste and service. All of their flavors are awesome, and it is so hard to choose. There was a guy wearing a Nirvana shirt, he gave me amazing recommendations and was extremely helpful while picking out the flavors.

I love coming here for their lattes! They have a ton of flavor options and the espresso is really good. My personal favorite is their toasted marshmallow, but it's only seasonal (I'll be so sad when it's gone!) I still need to try their gelato but it always looks amazing and they have a ton of options. I'm so glad we have this cute spot, there's not a lot of cute coffee shops that aren't chains in Marina!

Loved this spot! Totally felt like a beachside Italian village walking in here and sampling their Pistachio. Had to get it and their cookies and cream. Melih, who works the counter, was so kind generous and helpful to us - letting us sample, pick out flavors, and giving us a towering cup of gelato. Can't wait to go back. 5 stars!!!!

I've been going to this coffee bar ever since I started working in the Marina del Rey area three and a half year ago, and I always look forward to both the service and the high-quality of their products, especially of their oatmeal lattes. First and foremost, everyone they hire at this café is incredibly patient, considerate, and kind, from baristas to managers - it reminds me of the kind of service you'd experience at a Trader Joe's! Many of them know my usual order and they're friendly conversationalists. Big shoutout to Kai for always taking care of me and geeking out on music and anime with me when things aren't too crazy (and for remembering my name which can be a royal pain in the ass to pronounce!) With its Italian theming and constantly cool air-conditioned lounge area, you'll feel welcomed if you decide to chill rather than take it on the go. Their gelatos are constantly rotating and they're always innovating new flavors as well as new pastries. It makes my workdays a lot more happy and more productive on a very frequent basis.

Gelato & Coffee = the best of both worlds! I have always preferred gelato over ice cream as the overall texture is denser, richer, and smoother. This takes me to Marina Del Rey/Venice where I had the opportunity in trying out "Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar". Located directly on Lincoln Blvd. and adjacent to Maxella Ave., this place has been dishing out delicious gelato & coffee beverages dating back to late-2020. I arrived here during the evening of Friday 7/26/2024 at around 8:00pm. It can be quite challenging to park in front of the business. However, there is a dedicated parking lot at the rear of the building which neighbors a nearby Mediterranean market. I made the short walk to the main entrance (as the back door was locked) and proceeded inside. The interior layout is rather small and doesn't have much in the way of seating. There is a large map of the island of Capri which is located off of Italy which shows the tradition of how the gelato we enjoy in the United States originated in Italy. As far as the coffee beverages, I did not try any since it was already late in the evening and didn't want to be too wired into the night. However, they do offer all the popular coffees, lattes, mochas, and teas as well as specialty beverages. Additionally, they even have a respectable amount of pastries, avocado toasts, and other goodies. But the real treat here is their gelato as they offer nearly 20 different flavors to choose from. Since I didn't want to go too big on my gelato, I opted for a small cup priced at a reasonable $7.00 which included the tax. And what I particularly liked is that I was able to pick two different flavors. I opted for the salted caramel and the Italian cheesecake. The young man behind the counter gave me a very generous portion and was very friendly and attentive. As far as the taste, both flavors were made to absolutely perfection. The salted caramel had a sweet yet salty taste while the cheesecake was almost identical to eating a slice but in a more sweeter and denser form. All in all, "Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar" is one of the better gelato places I have been to. They do have a 2nd location in Hermosa Beach. And best of all, they have very generous hours of operation being open Monday-Thursday from 7am-9pm and Friday-Sunday from 7am-9:30pm. With excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and excellent hand-crafted gelato as if you're in Italy, this place is absolutely worth checking out. My rating, a unanimous five stars.

It was a cute cafe and the people were friendly. I stayed around the corner at a hotel so the walk was convenient. I got an oat milk latte one day and a regular latte the next. They were tasty and not overly bitter or acidic. If I were in the area again I would stop by

The gelato here is fantastic! Homemade with many delicious and refreshing flavors. We also picked up a few of their baked goods, which were tasty as well. Service is extremely friendly and welcoming, ideal. Stop for a sweet treat in the area!

Such a cute place and with delicious exotic flavors that I've never seen! They let us have endless samples and ALL of them were good! Cute indoor seating, (outdoor seating out back).

5 stars for the Gelato! Try the pistachio flavor :) Ordered a couple croissants: Brie and caramelized onions Ham and cheese Confetti cookie croissant The best of the three was the Ham and Cheese , flaky and soft. The cookie croissant was interesting with the cookie on top and inside the croissant but it was a bit hard/dry. They have limited seating inside and very limited seating out back- two small round tables in the parking lot under a canopy. Servers were nice and they got pretty busy very quickly! Everyone getting their hands on some gelato on this hot summer day!

I did not realize I had left a review here before, but now it makes sense! Stopped by today for a coffee and croissant and had a wonderful experience. Brenda the barista made me the best dirty iced chai ever! Literally made my day better. I also had the jalapeño cheddar croissant warmed up and it was the perfect amount of savory. I will be back. The gelato here is always so tasty and creamy. The flavors are incredible and the service is so friendly. The shop is also so clean and bright! In addition to the gelato, the pastries are delicious! I got a passion fruit bar (like a lemon bar made with passion fruit) and I loved it. The coffee is also amazing too. Highly recommend this spot!

Capri is the best coffee in West LA!!! Love this little coffee shop on Lincoln. The coffee here is super smooth and delicious. The ham & gruyere croissant is to die for! The crew that works here is always very friendly and helpful! This is my favorite place to grab coffee before work or to bring friends. BONUS: There's parking in the back.

All things considered their service has definitely improved from my one awful visit. The staff is much friendlier and of course the gelato itself is scrumptious! It is on the sweeter side so opt for a small size to indulge if you're not a fan of "too" sweet. A decent spot, with a clean sitting area. Said they could make my order in seven minutes, probably faster. It was double that by the time I got my avocado toast, which is pictured below. And cost $10.50. The bread was only sort of toasted and must have sat for a bit because the butter didn't melt. The avocado wasn't even really broken up.

YUMMMM! This takes me back to the gelato I ate in Italy! Nice variety of flavors, quality, and friendly service. I'm sure this place gets really busy! They offer other pastry desserts, but once you have one bite of their gelato- you'll have a tough time deciding which flavors you want! Try this place out!!! Gelato is great any time of the day.

Found this spot during my lunch break and so happy to have stumbled across it. It's not on the menu which by the way I love that you can basically make your own mix flavor latte! I ordered a white mocha and coconut latte which was been the best combination I've had. Staff was nice and patient which I appreciated also

What a rad little spot! My wife was craving some ice cream and holy moly the is place did not disappoint. Every flavor 10/10 and just out of this world combinations. My little lavender latte was spectacular as well, pleased for sure and glad we turned around to go hunt this spot down! Parkings a little rough, but if not staying long there's a lot over by Starbucks! The service was also awesome! Everyone was super friendly and made some great recommendations!

My absolute favorite gelato place in west LA. Literally I have never been to a gelato place where I liked every single flavor. The interior makes me feel like I'm in a smol gelato shop in Europe cuz there's like 2 tables but personally I kinda like that. Their gelato is so creamy and thicc and you just KNOW that they made that ish with love. It's just a lil far from me or else I would single handedly make their business thrive- well actually they are so good they def don't need me. But the point was made.

Tried the sorbeto but wasn't impressed. I should have got the gelato because hello....its in the name! . Staff was friendly and scooped my order quickly. I'll have to come back and try gelato next time. Parking is a little tough in the area.

We came here after having dinner nearby for a sweet treat based on the reviews this place has. The reviews weren't lying. The Gelato is really good. They have several flavors to choose from, and all were delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and comfy. The downside was that after we got out Gelato and sat down to take the instagramable picture you see and eat our gelato, we were told that the store was now closed and forced us out. I get that the store was "now" closed, but if we ordered before closing, we should be able to enjoy our gelato inside, we were done eating it in less than 10 minutes. I understand the workers probably just want to clean up and go home, but that was straight-up rude. I have never been to a restaurant where I was forced to finish my food outside or take it to go because they were now past their closing time. I'd come back for the Gelato but I'm afraid to go during their last open hour.

I called to ask if they had over blended matcha and although they said it was not on their menu they were willing to make it for me. It was DELICIOUS! Perfect for a hot day. Exactly what I've been looking everywhere for.

Cute cafe with paintings and pictures of Capri throughout. The people working here are very nice. We ordered the iced mocha latte and milk tea and enjoyed the drinks inside. They also had a lot of baked goods like chocolate croissants, lemon bars, and more which seemed to be quite popular. My fave was the milk tea. The mocha latte was good too taste wise but I think they used powdered mocha which didn't dissolve completely so there were small clumps of powder.

Excellent gelato selection along with some refreshing sorbets. The coffee is decent and the croissants are pleasantly delicate. The service is friendly but may get a little overwhelming during busy hours. Parking can be a challenge for those who just don't want to walk, but this is worth the extra effort as there is a parking lot towards the back.

Nice ambiance and food... the staff was still getter settled in the morning it seems like, comeback at noon. I had to add one more star. The food and coffee was excellent

After haven returned from Italy we were so used to having Gelato every day, I wanted to look for a gelato place in LA. I have seen the sign on Lincoln driving by for a while now. I was looking for an ice cream place and Capri came up and I decided to give them a try. I had an Affogato and my kids had the gelato. I must say it was a bit of disappointed. My Affogato was Okay, I felt like the Gelato was a bit too heavy and sweet but the Coffee was good. My kids Gelatos were on the sweeter and heavier side as well. It was hard to finish. Based on my taste I would not go back. But if you like the tase profile I just described then this is the place for you. Service was pretty good and the place is pretty nice. 2 for Gelato 4 for Service 4 for Ambiance

Espresso + Gelato = a heavenly drink/dessert combo and Capri has it going on! The espresso is pulled perfectly by a lovely caring barista, the thick creamy gelato is scooped by a generously lovely gelato expert. Convenient parking in back, don't be discouraged by the traffic on Lincoln! The affogato experience is absolutely t*ts at this location.

I am a bit of an ice cream, gelato, Italian ice nerd. I use to do projects on the different of them back in elementary school lol. Out of those three I definitely have ice cream the most but have always loved gelato more. I've love the silky smoothness of it, the rich flavor, and rapid the lightness of it compared to ice cream. I can say that the gelato here reminds me of my hometown favorite spot. It has all of those flavors and more. I took my girlfriend there with me as she is vegan and not too many places have vegan friendly frozen sweet treats. She love her sorbet she got that tastes as if she was eating the fruit itself. Definitely going to be one of my go to spots for gelato the time being.

Come for the coffee, stay for the gelato. This has become a weekly spot for me and my boyfriend. Everyone that works here is amazing and super friendly. What to order? - everything. It's all done very well. Best mocha in town, I recommend the Ferrari as well. Croissants are a must. I think we've tried them all by now. My favorite is the jalapeño cheddar. If your coffee isn't waking you up fast enough, that burst of jalapeño will. The gelato tastes just like it would in Italy. Enough said. My only fear is that this place will become so popular we won't be able to get a table.

Yummy ice creams and the butter bar is awesome. Reminds me of gooey butter cake from my hometown, St. Louis! Haven't had the coffee here yet but need to try it next time. I've had many of the ice cream flavors and never had one I didn't like. Service is always friendly and fast. Easy parking in the lot in back.

Chocolate hazelnut and vanilla affogato - large scoop of gelato topped with one shot of espresso. We were told the pastries and gelato are all made in house, and you can definitely taste the quality! Gelato is very creamy, light, & has great flavor! I preferred the the vanilla affogato over the chocolate because it was slightly less bitter and more smooth in flavor, but both were good. Ambiance is peaceful and cute with the art and pink theme. There are several tables to sit down at so you can enjoy your pastries and coffee indoors.

Get the passion fruit goat cheese gelato! It's so good! Super cute shop and lots of nearby parking. Highly recommend and will be back again!

The gelato is great! I usually love mint chip which is not a usual gelato flavor but this one tastes different than the regular cream mint chips. Customer service was great! The ladies serving were great and had a well deserved tip!

Came here for a post meal snack and the gelatos were delicious! Parking is a bit rough but if you can score street parking they have a couple to few tables inside.

This is a very small and cute little place with a charming feel. We ordered two mocha frappes, a chocolate caramel croissant, and the bacon egg bites. Everything was delicious. The frappes are made with their house gelato which makes them a little on the heavier side, but very worth trying and a delightful treat. Very delicious. I love croissants and they have a wide variety of them, including a jalapeño cheese which we would have gotten, had they not already been sold out. They must be great like everything else! Would recommend for a quick treat whether it be coffee, a croissant, or one of the many house gelatos!

I picked up a few pastries and indulged in their incredible cold brew. It rocked. The aesthetic was adorable. Lots of fun design details. Cute outdoor area in the back too. Friendly staff (I like supporting local businesses). I will be going back to try their gelato.

Parking in the back and you can enter from both the back entrance or the front entrance. There also indoor seating and outdoor seating near the parking lot. Lots of unique gelato flavors here and they give you samples so please try them out! They also have in house baked goods like banana bread and cornflake cookies and drinks too (tea, coffee, lemonade). At the front they have merchandise for their brand and I think some kind of boxed gift set and you can buy the coffee beans that they have for their coffee here. We got the: 1) Large Gelato: -We got the salted caramel, pistachio, cinnamon coconut, and espresso flavors. -Espresso had a strong flavor and had real coffee beans in it. Nice for added crunch texture, but the flavor was a bit too strong for me. -Pistachio was pretty good. -My favorite was the salted caramel because it was the right amount of sweet and salty with some dark chocolate shavings to balance out the myriad of flavors. -Cinnamon coconut was a unique one that I have not had before, but it had a nice subtle, light sweetness to it that really balanced out the other more heavy flavors, so I liked this one very much too. 2) Lamborghini: -The highest caffeine content drink here. It's an espresso chai. -An Americano with their signature chai tea. -We ordered this one without any sugar and light ice. -Despite the order of no sugar it was sickeningly sweet even by chai tea standards. -Instead of using this as a pick me up we had to take it back home, dilute it, and wean it out for an extended period of time. 3) Vespa to the Blue Grotto: -This is a blue tropical tea with lemonade and cherry. -This has the lowest caffeine content based on their menu. -I wish we got the instructions to mix this more thoroughly because I slightly mixed it, thought it was a bit bland but wondered if it was because my drink ended up being the non sugar one, but at the end of the night after most of the ice melted and I had another swig it tasted like straight up syrup. -I had to go home and dilute it with some juice. Perhaps we just did something strange and our drinks weren't correctly mixed or since we ordered adjustments they ended up kinda...unappealing. I would skip the drinks to be honest and just stick with the gelato.

Yum! This is the perfect spot for a post-dinner date. There is a good selection of both gelato and sorbet. I'd highly recommend the cherry gelato because it's full of flavor and the cherries are delicious. I opted for a small with one flavor but you can have two flavors in a small. The servings are good sized for the price. The service is friendly, prompt, and the staff are knowledgeable. Next time I'll have to try the coffee... The indoor seating area is not too big but it is quaint.

It is very nice place and in a very good location. I especially loved their pistachio ice cream. Melih also helped me a lot in choosing the right flavors. He is a very friendly and hospitable person. It will definitely be a place I visit often.

I had espresso and lemon flavors in a waffle cone. Both flavors were delicious! The Cafe is petite and is very clean. The 2 girls working were both very nice. The only hard part is the parking. I'll be going again.

Stopped here with my kiddos. I didn't think they will like the gelato but they enjoyed it very much. We got the medium size and split it. There was a lot of ice cream even though it looks small. They have a bunch of flavors and they are very tasty. I recommend it.

Not really wanting to blow up my coffee spot but I'm here 3 times a week. It's always a welcoming staff, great coffee, excellent gelato, and fantastic car watching coming off the 90. The Starbucks on the corner is for suckers.

Absolutely loved the gelato at Capri! They have so many flavors and some that are quite unique, like goat cheese passion fruit! I really enjoyed all the flavors that I got! The pineapple was very enjoyable because it tasted very natural and had actual pineapple blended into it. My favorite was the caramel cookie butter! It was so creamy and had actual chunks of cookie in it. The shop itself was really cute and they also have coffee & pastries! I would definitely visit again & try their coffee or pastries next time (:

This place is amazing! Each time I've grabbed a coffee and ice cream it's been delicious and keeps me coming back! The service and cashiers are friendly and quick! I enjoy supporting great businesses like this one, they keep a great ambiance !
