Hidden Gem with Breathtaking Views and Exceptional Service! I can’t believe this place doesn’t have better reviews! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality. The new manager is absolutely fantastic—attentive, professional, and truly goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience for every guest. You can tell they’re making a real difference in how this café is run. It’s shocking that this café doesn’t have higher ratings because it truly deserves them. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, an unbeatable view, and a staff that genuinely cares, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

I have been visiting this cafe for a few years now as my daughters high school is up the block... I have always been greeted cordially and with a genuine smile from whomever was working. My main fare has always been coffee ...temp fitting the season. Iced espresso is amazing. Hot brew on point. My visit today was above par as the barista not only made me an incredible cup of joe but gave me an extra small cup of steamed oat milk to add if what he gave me wasn't enough, which it was, but I still added the rest. I enjoyed a crumble cake pastry and bought an extra to take with me to share with family (maybe😝). I also enjoyed my coffee sitting beside a beautiful table top fire pit which absolutely fit the mood as it is a brisk spring day! Amazing experience will absolutely be back again and again.

Google
Great coffee, great food, super ideal, location. Props to the new manager, Elijah who is super friendly and inviting. Great customer service and for the location it’s perfect for anyone checking out LOVE park, city hall, or anywhere else wanting a more affordable spot to eat. Great live music, jazz and DJs in the summer, too!!

Great customer service, fresh ingredients, fresh food. Clean environment, music was soothing. Engaging with customers, great energy. 👍 we'll definitely return. #phillysheabutterlady #juju

Google
The location and vibe were great! We were also grateful to be able to bring our dog to the patio. The food was just okay—possibly because there were only two staff members working and it got crowded quickly. My egg and sausage sandwich was average and a bit dry.

Google
Such great experience! The manager Elijah was so friendly and helpful. Great prices and so tasty. Great spot!

Google
Capriccio Café has such a great vibe—relaxed, welcoming. The food was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot with good energy and great eats. The new manager was super personable as well

Yelp
Strong drinks, good music and great service from Elijah, the manager. Very chill spot for locals or tourists to visit while at city hall

Yelp
I really enjoy this little spot!! The patio is so cute, and the location is so convenient. The staff are so kind and welcoming. The mixed drinks are yummy, but they're definitely not strong. I also enjoyed their ham and cheese croissant.
google avatar

Shaquille J.

Yelp
If your coming here for the patio section that offers a very europe like feel, the music, and the people, then come here. If your coming for the food I would say pass. If your coming here for a cup of coffee in the morning, it gets the job done but isn't super memorable (aside from the staff because they are awesome). For those with diabetes, they offer sugar free syrups for your coffee! This place wasn't bad but it wasn't good either so I dont know if I would recommend.

Yelp
Great place to pick up lunch with delicious sandwiches. Service was awesome and Elijah gave us recommendations for places to stop with kids which was very nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here during a random walk through the city for some muffins. They were yummy, service was quick and staff was nice. We didn't stay long but did notice they have great hours and noted that we needed to come back! There's a great outdoor space as well.

Yelp
I was introduced to Capriccio Cafe and Bar by my hotel, the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown which had it listed as a recommendation amongst several other cafes in the surrounding area. After an additional endorsement by one of the hotel receptionists, I chose and made my way to Capriccio Cafe and Bar which sat right down the street, literally no more than 0.2 miles in distance from the Sheraton. I was acknowledged shortly after I walked in and up to the counter to look at the menu. It always takes me some time to look through the menu, especially when I am unfamiliar with the restaurant. I ended up ordering an egg and cheese on a cinnamon bagel, with an orange juice which was the only thing out of both the breakfast and lunch menu that captured my interest. I chose to dine in at the restaurant since I had plenty of time to spare before the projected check out time at the hotel. An ideal spot for brunch, the restaurant appeared clean, and the atmosphere gave off a nice calm vibe. And there are a number of tables and seats available whether it be inside of the dining area, or outside in its patio, which I must say adds a nice touch. Now as for my food, the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a cinnamon bagel was beautifully presented! And my oh my, it was far from plain looking; it was indeed just as delicious as it appeared, * chef's kiss *. Being that I had a good experience, I would gladly re-visit Capriccio Cafe and Bar again when staying at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown or at a nearby hotel. And as the receptionist gave her endorsement of this restaurant to me, I share my endorsement of it as well with you all. ~ Be obsessively grateful. ~ Thomas G

Yelp
Great environment and staff... very friendly as we are from out of town and they guided us to things to do... I highly recommend this place

Yelp
It was ok. Prices are great. Great location. Sandwiches just ok. We only tried breakfast items. Bread was good but egg and cheese (cohort had sausage egg and cheese) were forgettable. Coffee however was great
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Nice spot to pick up a quick breakfast sandwich in a plaza. The sandwich was fine and at a decent price, and I liked that it was freshly prepared. But with only one employee, it took a while per customer which I can see being a problem if it's busier. There's some seating if you need to eat in. The muffins were very flat, so I passed on that. For a grab and go kind of breakfast/lunch need, it was a decent version of that.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Do not go here for coffee. Somehow it is worse coffee than any of the major chains, which was really disappointing because the bar and the outside patio is so cute, and the customer service is great and very rapid. But at specialty coffee prices (8$ for my drink) I expect my coffee to be good (or at least not worse than Starbucks) and this was probably the worst coffee I've had in years. Did not have the food, check other reviews for that. From what was in the windows, it looks mostly like it's premade wrapped stuff that you can get from anywhere. But they may have better options? I don't know and I'm not going back to see. EDIT: I got a notification from the restaurant asking what drink I got and when I visited but I cannot see how to respond -- it was their mocha frappe. same price as a starbucks frappe, but def a splurge. My visit was on the day of this review.

Yelp
Returned today after a very long time. Welcoming new team. Elijah was friendly, personable, attentive, and clearly loves his job. Much much improved. Definitely visit!

Elliott C.

Yelp
A friend and I have been going to this café 2 to 3 times a week for the last two months. The coffee is always terrific. The atmosphere is great, however, the service has always been less than friendly. Went today, what a pleasant surprise. Evidently, there was some change in management and the new manager, his name is Elijah, was terrific. He was engaging, friendly. He even suggested different menu items, something never done in the past. My friend and I debated on which café to go to today for coffee. They'll be no debate tomorrow. Capriccios!
google avatar

Ramona G.

Yelp
Capriccio's look so cute on the outside that I had to make an impromptu stop inside when my family was doing a walking tour of Philly, There's cute outdoor seating that looks like a great place to enjoy a drink and soak in the city. I got an iced coffee to-go that was just what I needed to fuel the rest of my tour.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I am around the corner at a convention and I just wanted to buy something affordable to eat. I was worried this place would cost of fortune but I got a delicious chicken sandwich for like $11, and also the bartender was incredibly cool and friendly. I would literally go on my way to come back here for lunch.
google avatar

Jazmin V.

Yelp
My parents and I came to this area for a vacation. The place that served breakfast at our hotel was just far too much. This place was a short walk away and has a nice selection to choose from. The coffee is good and the area was nice! I loved the outdoor seating!

Tatiana L.

Yelp
just got new management and the service is way better! new manager is so nice and respectful I got a pumpkin spice latte it was great so is the chai and the sandwiches. cozy inside and clean

Alex C.

Yelp
The sandwiches seemed like they are a week old and terrible would not recommend. The staff was the best part of my experience

Suz M.

Yelp
The line was piling up, as one guy (who just started working here) worked really hard to meet our needs; he was very polite and apologetic. His co-worker, however, just seemed to do whatever he could to avoid working. He was just wandering around in the back or coming up front just to make sure his phone was plugged in. When no one was in line and the place was empty, that's when he offered for the first guy to take his break. Lame. The food is expensive. A very small cheese and ham croissant for close to 8$.

Yelp
So, my feelings on this place are kinda mixed. The pros are that it has a great location along the Parkway. It's convenient for a quick lunch break or to go snack. The food is about average. The ice cream is Bassett's and so good in the summertime. In recent years, they have added a bar/liquor and are great for after work happy hours, especially in the summertime in the outdoor seating area. The negatives I would say are that the pricing is a bit high for average items. My #1 con, however, is the service. It seems like they hire from a service or something and the staff (outside of a man who I think is the owner) seems disinterested and not always friendly. There is one woman who is there often and she always seems grumpy and acts like she is doing one a favor. I've seen her talk over clients at the counter to the customer behind them to ask what they want. It is very disappointing for such an ideal place in a convenient location. Worth a try if you can tolerate disinterested semi rude service.

Matt W.

Yelp
Rude and inattentive staff, worst latte I've ever had in my life. The only saving grace is good atmosphere, but not enough to ever go back. I imagine the only way they stay in business is due to location/ambiance. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Shay V.

Yelp
Cool spot for a morning coffee and muffin. Muffin selection and availability varies by the day but there's a wide selection of other pastry options. In my humble opinion, the cold and hot drinks are overpriced!
google avatar

Thuy S.

Yelp
If I have a choice, I'd give this place a -10 star. The lady who took our order were discourteous, nasty, and abrupt. She would not look at us, turned her back on her while taking over orders. The location is in a good location, that's all it had. Don't ever go here if you can help it. I'm not sure if this is an private owned and she is the owner but she had push the level of rudeness to the max. If she is not the owner, and the owner is reading this, either provide more customer service training to your employee or determine whether this woman is fit to run this cafe or not. I don't recommend it this place to anyone!
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
The food is great café style fare. The chicken salad sandwich was deeeelish. The coffee was great. As a non-dairy person, I also appreciated that they have oat milk (as well as almond and soy). The atmosphere and location cannot be beat! Came on a cold day in March when the doors were still closed but it looks like the entire place is open to the outside in the summer. Have to come back for that! Lastly, the lady who took our order and prepared the food and coffee was supper friendly and quick. 5 stars for great experience on every level
google avatar

Brandon J.

Yelp
Went here to get some work done outside! I was greeting by the friendly cashier who by all means should been exhausted after coming from her overnight job. I ended up getting a Tropical Mango smoothie - but there were a bunch of options ranging from sandwiches, pastries, ice cream, etc. I had a great experience and will definitely be going back!
google avatar

Sarita M.

Yelp
I was starving and took a quick break from work. This place was across the street so why not. Maybe it was an off day but the service was kind of brusque. It wasn't particularly busy or anything but I felt very hurried...and definitely wasn't service wth a smile. I ended up getting a grilled cheese (which I really enjoyed and it filled me right up) and a medium mocha. I had never been there before and like I said, maybe was an off day but there was a lot of confusion with the drinks. No labels at all we're done (no names of customer or product) so it's no wonder I ended up getting someone else's drink. Definitely not efficient, what would it have been like if there was actually a crowd instead of just 3 people?
google avatar

Wayne W.

Yelp
Cool little coffee shop in a "park" really solid cold brew coffee and a friendly staff. I can't speak for all their pastries but the croissant was really dense and dry kinda disappointed with the cross isnt but the coffee was fantastic.

Michael B.

Yelp
I do not have a choice for -10, like another review mentioned (should have read it before ordering). The bagels were so stale, that even the toasting could not hide it. The service was horrible. I had to wait 5 min only because the guy was entertaining his friend and checking his phone. We ordered espresso macchiato, and asked if they know how to make one. We were rudely told that they know what they are doing. Obviously clueless...5 min later, 2 large cups of coffee with milk emerged, at the cost of almost $5 per cup. Worst coffee we had in a while, only good to dunk the stale bagels init, before feeding them to the birds. Avoid at all cost, but such a shame, because the location is wonderful. Oh yes, and they also ask you to bus your own table, and of course you are supposed to tip, right?

Dawan D.

Yelp
I love the food and coffee and I love Felicia who is the main barista there. But the tall Caucasian gentleman there refuses to put on gloves! And when I confronted him about it he lied to my face and tried to act like he had gloves on. Very simple ask to put gloves on at a FOOD place dude.

Yelp
We came here after completing the Love Run, Half Marathon and I was pretty impressed by their selections. A few tables inside so you can sit and enjoy. My partner had the Chai Latte (Spiced) which was good and I had the Chai Latte (Vanilla) which was amazing. They also had options of regular hot chocolate and white hot chocolate. They have a bar area as well. Small, cute, and great selections. I would stop here over like Starbucks or Dunkin if in the area.
google avatar

Alex R.

Yelp
This is a neat coffee shop nestled in a small park off Logan square. They have all the usual coffee drinks from a drip flavoured and regular coffee to espressos, lattes and desert coffees. They also have a full complement of breakfast items pastries, bagels, muffins and oatmeal. They also do a egg bacon and cheese bagel. Their lunch items are sandwiches. These can be followed with ice cream or ice cream drinks. It was a nice stop along the way. On the way to the restroom I discovered a fully stocked bar with beer wine and liquor. I could have used a shot of kalua in my coffee. Oh well next time.
google avatar

Carolina M.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Really cozy, clean and cute place. We had a couple drinks at the bar, and it was great. Service was outstanding.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Popped in here for lunch today because I was looking for a place to sit outside and eat a semi-healthy lunch. The three stars is mostly for the great location and outside seating. The iced coffee is also very good. I have 2 qualms about this place - first, was that I got the Chipotle Turkey sandwich and the spinach on it was so wilted and gross. I picked it off to make it somewhat edible, but for the most part it was pretty bland and tasteless. Second, it was $13 for a coffee and sandwich, which is pretty expensive for lunch especially a low quality lunch. I will be back, but I'm definitely going to stay away from the sandwiches and maybe get a pastry and coffee or some ice cream. Side note: they also have alcohol and a pretty good happy hour. I'd like to check that out as well.
google avatar

Cameron M.

Yelp
Although a cute little corner spot, employees are pretty rude. Ordered ice coffees and after bringing to the cashiers attention that we ordered Ice coffees, the heavy set lady behind the counter began singing "we aren't mind readers". They ended up pouring hot coffee over ice. This lady was also heard bossing the gentleman around in muttering under her breath . Terrible attitude. Oh we also found ants in our bag!
google avatar

Carmen S.

Yelp
Came for a glass of wine in the afternoon and the gentleman was extremely nice and cordial. Came back for coffee and had a very bad experience with the lady taking my order. Very rude! Should definitely get some more training on costumer service Still I'm given them 4 stars because of my previous experience and the quality of the product.
google avatar

Taylor O.

Yelp
Friendly spot! Lovely location near a cute park, great views as well. Baristas were helpful, lots of options for beverages and snacks. I would definitely visit her again next time I'm around
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
I love this location for its atmosphere and convenience. It's a great place to meet someone for a drink (coffee or cocktail), or to do some work between meetings downtown. I stopped in for the second time today to get some food and work while waiting for a meeting. Most sandwiches were pre-made and available in a cooler case, so I opted for a fresh breakfast sandwich. It was affordably priced, but mostly just bagel - very little egg and bacon on it. In the future, I'll go elsewhere if I need a meal, and stick to this location if I just need wifi or am meeting someone over coffee.

C S.

Yelp
The location is clean and nice and in the warm days there is accessible outside eating. Other reviewers speak of the service that i would describe as gnarly and a bit gruff but just missed being rude. The coffee is overpriced and could be improved. The taste does not match the price. The place does seem to pick up business in the evenings when drinks are served. The morning servers are not morning people. Perhaps its the coffee. The pastries are palatable. Suggestion improve the coffee and the morning service and the morning business would greatly improve.
google avatar

Armistead J.

Yelp
This place was absolutely great and the customer service was outstanding also don't know too much about chai tea but they have a absolutely delicious chai tea shake that I tried and it's very tasty
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
I missed Capriccio when it moved away from the spot that is now Coffee Bar. But when it was in that spot it felt a little out of place next to the swank hotel and steak house. But now it's location by Love Park gives it a chance to come into it's own in an area that REALLY needed a non-fourbucks coffeehouse. Chrissy is right about it being ashame that it opened in the fall. Because with it's ample outdoor seating, ability to open up practically all of it's windowed interior, and the fact that it's right across the way from Love Park, Cafe Cret is very much a Spring/Summer coffeehouse that hasn't had the chance to savor those seasons yet. But it is built with a unique architecture (It's named for the person who designed the Rodin Museum and other structures so it had to be). It's also a lot more roomier than the previous Capriccios. The food and service is pretty much the same which is very good. I was munching on a smoked turkey sandwich and sipping on a caramel apple cider while listening to some 80's music from within. And needless to say that generally makes for a good situation any day of the week. So while it might not be the best season for it Cret definitely shines.
google avatar

Gloria E.

Yelp
Was hovering between a 3 and 4 stars, since service is a bit crazy on weekend mornings and afternoons. They prioritize people walking in for cafe food over the people sitting in at the bar, but it was mostly because of the holiday and people piling up. Prices aren't terrible for the alcohol or bagels or even the lattes!
google avatar

Glen D.

Yelp
The lady with the braids working the cash register could use some people skills or get a new job
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
Just no... Stopped by while waiting for the wife to get off work. No cabernet, no merlot, and $9 for a glass of cheap pinot noir (I saw what they had on their shelves) when the bar literally 300 ft away according to Yelp has a happy hour going on. Go across the street. At least they'll probably have what you want.

Jose M.

Yelp
Horrible service. I went with my sister that came from Out of States. And while I was explaining the menu to her the lady was rushing me and being rude. The place was empty and all she wanted to do was keep gossiping about other people. I simply asked if there was any decaf coffee and instead of saying no as a normal person. She raised her voice like she felt annoyed. Never going back. I simply said to the lady "have a nice day" since her attitude got worst and worst. ...she gave me a dirty look. We went to starbucks which was not the plan at all. We like to support local business but staff gotta do better.
google avatar

Jonathan P.

Yelp
About once a week I stop in here on my way to work. Le bus sandwiches and Bean2Bean for their espresso in my Americano. Great for a happy hour cocktail and can't say enough about the staff. Customer service on another level. Check it out if you find yourself by Love Park.
google avatar

Jade H.

Yelp
Employee was very rude and said the bare minimum when taking my order. Instead of asking how she could help me she looked at me and cocked her head. Will not be coming back into this miserable place.
google avatar

Jason E.

Yelp
I wanted to let you know about one of your employees. Whoever was working on Wednesday evening this week was AMAZING!!! Me and a friend went over to have a beer and Iced Tea, sit outside and chat. This guy (I didn't get his name) was so nice! He went on to explain all the new rules and regulations in a nice fast way. Even though it was close to closing time, he said as long as we could see him inside, we could order from him. He even offered to leave the wifi on if we needed it. (we didn't) I know many people send letters about bad experiences all the time, but I'm a firm believer in saying something when it goes well. Give that kid a gold star or something!!! We will certainly be back very soon!
google avatar

Amelia Jane L.

Yelp
Food is great and staff is very friendly! Ask your barista about local spots to visit if you are in philly for vacation. Their drinks and food is 10/10. I recommend getting the Apple Cider when it is on the menu in fall/winter. Whatever you get you can't go wrong!
google avatar

Peggy S.

Yelp
Hit or miss service but quality food and drinks. I went here because I needed a snack, caffeine, and free Wi-Fi to work from. I know this place as Cafe cret, but here it goes by the longer name. As someone not from the area that was a teeny bit confusing at first but I got in fine. There was plenty of seating inside and outside which makes this an ideal place for meeting people or working on your own. The guy who took my order and made me a hazelnut cappuccino was very nice. The woman who run me up however seemed to not be having a great day. In fact later on while I was still there, a gentleman came in and after ordering started telling her about how she had a passive aggressive attitude and that he was going to report the service. After a while he ended up talking with about 4 different people about whatever she had done to him. My hazelnut cappuccino was amazing! It had the right amount of flavoring so that it wasn't too sweet and it was piping hot; just the way I like my hot drinks! I also got a multigrain croissant that was very good. Heated up with a little bit of butter, it was so tasty! Next time: I will try their selection of ice cream. Maybe I can get an affogato ;)

Yelp
I think that this a cute little place in town, what a cool and unique idea to have a cafe/bar...I have come here a few times to grab a sandwich and a snack and relax for a bit. The chicken salad is pretty good, tasty, it seems a little heavy on the mayo but tasty. The turkey and cheese was also very tasty. I have also had the cookies, chocolate pretzels which are good, they have bottled soft drinks to choose from. The other pastries in the case look good too, the muffins and croissants look good. There's plenty of seating if you'd like to relax and enjoy your food there, both inside and outside, and the the patio seating is dog friendly! On a nice sunny day, it's nice to have a sandwich outside and relax under an umbrella! I've found the customer service okay, it seems one person was a bit grouchy the first time that I came but other people have been very friendly and helpful. For the most part, I enjoy coming here, it is a little expensive but not bad and the food is pretty good. The location is great and I have brought my food out to the nearby park which is nice too. I think that they have ice cream which may be fun in the warmer months! Cute cafe!
