Google
This is the worst caps location. Bought 2 medium subs and have had more meat and toppings on 1 jr sub. The turkey is waaaaaay to dry it seems like they left it open all day and dont care. The steak and cheese..... the point of going to capriottis..... was so thin like they gave me a child's portion on a full size sandwich roll. Skip this location and save your self the headache. If you want a good sandwich that doesn't just disappoint and fill you full of dissatisfaction go to the bear location.

I ordered a large Bobbi for $21.99 yesterday on 10-18-25 at the basin road location and unfortunately It was terrible. My first bite of one of the halves I got a long thin bone like hard cartilage about 2 to 2½ inches long! (Choking Hazard) 🤦‍♂️ The bread was tough, it felt like I had to rip it off super aggressively to get a bite. After a few bites I gave up and tried opening the roll to just eat the inside with a fork but even that had its embarrassing reveal. Inside the sub were miniscule shreds of turkey, some of it was dried like it was sitting out, there were no actual nice bite size chunks or full pieces of turkey, let alone the right amount of meat for a large roll. It was seriously dreadful. The employee who made that terrible thing and allowed it to be sent out should be re-trained. Either the employee did it on purpose or they had no care or concern about the quality of the food they are responsible for preparing for customers. It's hard to believe that was a Capriotti's sub, and one you're known for, The Bobbi! Sad to say... i could have went to acme and got a 2 day old pre-made sub that would have been much better to what I received. You hurt my heart and my wallet. I'm sorry Cap, we're breaking up!

Living out of state, Capriotti's is always on my "to do list" when visiting family. I was disappointed with the finished product. It definitely was not as stuffed. I'm hesitant to return here while in town next week

Google
Capriottis wow haven’t tasted a sandwich so good in about a year now. Since I moved down here always passed by this joint and said to my self I’m gonna go in and try something but never had the chance, thank goodness I finally made that stop! That capastrami though! Definitely hits different, the most cleanest and tastiest sandwich I’ve tried in a while also had The Bobby but that pastrami perfection had my heart…. Called in ahead of time just in case 😉 staff is pretty cool very professional and a couple jokes here and there with customers waiting for there sandwiches nothing like a good joke to relax the impatience 😂. Coming back for more and bringing some foodies with me!

Google
Probably the only good Caprioti's sandwich shop in the county, maybe the state. Service was fast, staff was friendly, and the food was fresh and delicious. If you want Cap's, this is the place to stop at.

Traci G.

Google
There are not too many places in Delaware that does a hoagie right. This place is a go-to for game day or any time you want a delicious hoagie. They are nice folks and courteous. Standing room only. Get in, order, wait 10 minutes and get out!

Google
I had a really good experience at this location! They were kind, well spoken, fast working and they were very attentive. They even brung our lunch out while we waited inside the car! Top notch staff! Thank you

Margie M.

Google
I was starving after not eating all day. I called, ordered my food over the phone, and it was ready by the time I got there. The person who helped me was personable and even made jokes with the people and staff in the waiting lobby. When I got to my car I took my first bite because I was so hungry and boy was it good! All in all, it was a good experience and good food. 👌🏾

Yelp
I ordered a Turkey sub and a cheesesteak. Upon placing my order the worker said they had just run out of tomatoes. Not a big deal but I still placed my order anyway. Once I got home they ended up adding a few tomatoes on my sub. The homemade turkey is not your sliced deli sub. The Turkey is slow roasted Turkey and topped with your favorite sub toppings. The classic cheesecake comes with mushrooms, American cheese and your choice of peppers. I kept it simple with just onion and cheese. The cheesesteak was good. I wish I added extra cheese. Capriotti's also has salads and options for vegetarians.

Yelp
Average .. had a couple of orders over the past two weeks. The sandwich shop came with high recommendations, so perhaps my expectations were set high. It was a decent Italian and French Dip. Good not bad.

Grady F.

Yelp
The picture they show of sandwiches doesn't even come close to what you get. This shop used to have great sandwiches not anymore
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
These shops seem to have differing quality reviews by branch, but this place was great. Went in around Sunday noon, ordered the Bobbie, and they made it up in a few minutes, and we were out. The Bobbie was delicious. We got a medium to split between the two of us. Between the chewy bread, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and turkey, it was a relatively simple combination that upholds how the simple done well can be great.
google avatar

Cat F.

Yelp
This sub shop has been around "forever". Their subs are HUGE, I dare say it's unusual for someone to eat an entire large by themself. I think their small is the size of most places medium. There is actually one in Casselberry FL and one in Las Vegas because some of the family moved away. Plenty of meats, veggies, etc. One of the best is the "Bobbi".
google avatar

Michaelangelo R.

Yelp
I seriously overlooked this locale but I heard from a neighbor this shop cooked fresh turkey for subs; so being that my housemate didn't want to go out on Thanksgiving, I decided to give this sandwich shop a try; since when is there a Thanksgiving without turkey?? So I ordered for pickup a Bobbie sandwich and a baked turkey salad; and then I had my extremely delicious TG thanks to this shop!
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
The Original locations here in DELAWARE are still awesome after all these years! I've been to the newer locations too all over the country - Las Vegas was awesome! Got a free sub for showing my DE license! lol! Same great tastes and selections! YUM!

Sam B.

Yelp
Ordered 3 large turkey hoagie, I was not informed that smaller hoagie rolls needed to be used to accommodate my order. Hoagies were made poorly. I spent over $65.00 and it was not worth it. Im a regular here with ordering turkey hoagies. I e never had a turkey hoagie with the cheese placed on top of the meat. When I called, I was told thats how turkey hoagies are made. Extremely disappointed with the presentation of the food for my guest.
google avatar

Natalie D.

Yelp
Rude introduction on the phone...and little to no meat on my salad!! I will not patronize this company again!!
google avatar

Danny A.

Yelp
Fried onions, crushed hot peppers on the grill, provolone and a bit of ketchup. That's it!! That's all u need. The service was fast and friendly and the shop was nice and clean
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
The roll was excellent. The steak is a little tougher than most places. When I opened it, it looked like I ordered a ketchup sandwich. I must of also asked them to cut it 65-35 instead of in half. It's either that or the staff was having a race to see who could make the most sandwiches in the shortest amount of time. The toppings were fine. There isn't a menu on their website that has prices. You have to start your order to find out the price. The prices aren't bad, but you'll have to order extra meat if you want a decent amount.

Duane W.

Yelp
Having originally come from from the area and tasted many cheesesteaks and Italian subs, I know a good one when I taste it. This was without a doubt one of the best that I have had in a long while. I made a one day trip to the area to visit family, so I just a small cheesesteak when I first arrived; it was so good that before I left the area to go back home, I had to go back to Capriotti's to get an Italian sub. Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Shea B.

Yelp
I used to love Cappriottis haven't been in a while and my fiancé is from Dc so he wanted to try what i kept raving about. We got three sandwiches that barely had any meat on them. I had spent $49 in total called back up there they replaced the sandwiches but it just wasn't what i was used to. Sad to say they lost a customer.

Yelp
I wanted to try local Delawarean food. Decided to grab lunch at Capriotti's. I ordered the Bobbie sub and it was absolutely delicious. A sub that is filled with all the Thanksgiving fixins. I got the medium size sub and it was stuffed with lots of carved turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
google avatar

Anth I.

Yelp
Not a great experience. Been ordering from Capriotti's for years. Used to put a good amount of meat on their subs. Getting less and less every time. Worst of all is the famous Bobbie. More stuffing than meat & the actual turkey used on my sandwich was stringy and dry. I also ordered two chicken cheese steaks for a business lunch and they were also disappointing. Not much filling.....very light on the chicken. My two associates both commented that things used to be better. For the money, it's not a good deal. Taste was fine but please give your customers what they are paying for. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
I hate giving bad reviews especially to my fav sub place. I really live Cap subs but I think this place needs to up their game. This time I ordered hot chicken steak sub and used free cookie coupon I had. This place always has issues with coupons. This was the second time I had to wait 10mins for them to figure out how to use the mobile coupon. Then I had request for mustard sauce on my sub which they forgot and they missed coleslaw. Every sub comes at Caps needs to have coleslaw, how can you miss that. I also realized that they marked coupon on my mobile phone but never gave me the cookie. This was ridiculous. So I waited 19mins and now I do not even have the cookie. So, I recommend Cap subs. Am a big fan, but just not this place. I wish these these guys could work together. You could see the tension amongst the people who work there. They were literally taunting each other openly.
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Visited for the first time during COVID and was pleasantly surprised. Not many top of line sandwich shops in New Castle. I ordered online with no issues. Picked up and the women behind the counter was very nice and the establishment seemed clean. We tried the classic Italian, Pastrami, and the Bobbie. I'd give all 3 sandwiches 8/10. Def can't wait to return to try more sandwiches. I also appreciated the variety of sandwich sizes they offered.
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
They don't know what roast beef is. I ordered a 12 in sub with roast beef, and it was over cooked. I expect roast beef to have some red in it, not brown and stringy. It was awful. Will not be back

Mitch T.

Yelp
Just an awful experience. I ordered a turkey sub on line for curbside pickup. The site said it would be ready in 15 minutes - a reasonable amount of time. I showed up after 20 minutes and they said it wasn't ready yet. After a 10 minute wait in their tiny parking lot, I called again. They said it would take at least another 10 minutes! I had to get back to work because I only have a 30-minute lunch break, so I cancelled the order and went to Wawa. I was in and out of Wawa in 10 minutes! I've been a loyal customer of Capriottis for years, but because of this store's terrible service (and couldn't care less attitude), I'm done. Going to go to Iononnis or Wawa from now on.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
This place is the definition of disorganized and slow!!! We walked in at 11:40 and now it's 12:20 with no order in sight. Avoid this place unless you can go well after the lunch hour, it's simply not worth the frustration. We finally left without lunch @ 12:30 after we asked about our order and it was mixed up. A guy leaving at the same time mentioned that he had waited over an hour. Never again at this location.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
We recently ordered a cheesesteak that I had to spit out every other bite of because there were rubbery pieces of fat so that went in the trash. I was hopeful for the Italian hoagie but was disappointed with that too as it had less meat on it than a Wawa hoagie and oregano dumped all over it- overpowering the whole hoagie. This experience has completely turned us off and I will never order from here again.
google avatar

Daniel H.

Yelp
I go here for the Bobbie, a wonderful thanksgiving sandwich. The Italian hoagie was good also. This is a great lunch spot for us when visiting Delaware. No eating area, bottled soda and water, no fried food.

Richard T.

Yelp
Good sandwiches and salad. Not much lettuce; which is great. Walk in place. Not much seating

Mpo O.

Yelp
This was my go to place all through the 80's and into the 2010's. I moved to NJ in 1990, an hour each way on the TP, but I still came back for the best hoagie/sub I'd ever had. Unfortunately, like everything else is our new culture, they sold out to the interests of globalist franchisees. I knew the product quality was now crap from the pictures on the website. The recent product reviews of long-time customers only confirm it. Don't bother here, you're better off at WaWa. The worst of it is the sanctimonious drivel of the so called business owner in response to the crap reviews and disappointed customers. We at Capriotti's try to blah blah blah...same on every unhappy customer. My advice is bury this once great establishment, like everything else these days it has gone to crap.

Halley D.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been talking about stopping in and today we finally did! We split a large (gigantic) classic cheesesteak and had a hard time finishing it... but of course we did because it was really an awesome sub. The location is very quaint, exactly what I think of when it comes to a typical hoagie shop. We didn't order ahead so we had to wait a little while but it was well worth it and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Louis R.

Yelp
Would Avoid! - Too Hard Core! - Staff did not seem helpful @ all. Was very busy - Long line. Stopped in, hoping to have a "Bobbie" - Things seemed "Too Intense" - No Toilet &/or Nobody who was willing to show me the Toilet and very limited seating. I can't attest to how the food was; because - I just didn't seem comfortable with this place. Seems like it serves a lot of the locals in the neighborhood. I quickly "Fled the Scene" and drove the 12 minutes to the "Kirkwood Highway Location" - IDK what the heck happened with this place. It was also very difficult to find/locate.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
Great subs. Busy store. Order with the helpful sandwich builders behind the counter and await your world-class hoagie. Terrific bread. Lots 'o meat. Among the Delaware Valley's finest. Order ahead and bypass the line. Sides include an assortment of Herr's potato chips. Drinks are all the bottled variety from the cooler. No seating, and take out only. Parking in the small, shared lot is at a premium at peak hours. Located just off Route 13 on Basin Road, around the corner from the Wilmington Airport and minutes from the twin bridges and 95, this place is worth a detour. The tough decision is whether to go to Capriotti's or Ionnoni's nearby. My suggestion is to go to Cap's for subs and Ionnoni's for roast pork or roast beef. You pick 'em for cheesesteaks...

Barbara J.

Yelp
3/4/22 I ordered a large tuna salad under the create your own menu I was charged almost $10.00 for a 3/4 scoop of almost dry tuna diced onions no tomatoes which I explicitly asked for and then got a whole tray of lettuce I was told by the flat affect cashier with a Eagles hat on they didn't carry cucumbers omg I would not recommend this business despite this being my my shop of preference in the past What a rip off and let down I'm deleting them off my list of favorites
google avatar

C S N.

Yelp
Haven't had Capriottis in so long. Stopped today (1:15 PM) to get a "Bobbie". Stood at the counter for a few minutes while the 4-5 people behind the counter glanced at me and walked away - one to stuff her face, another to seemingly just walk back and forth behind the counter. I left since no one was capable of acknowledging me or saying they would be with me or even saying HELLO. Folks, in this day and age of customer service, this is completely unacceptable! It's FREE to say "hello", smile and acknowledge customers!!! Yes, that's right, it costs nothing, but has significant value, maybe the difference between saving the business from the dreadful, miserable staff working there. If you don't love your jobs, go find one you love or at least one that doesn't make you appear so miserable! Capriotti's, you aren't the only game in town and you just lost a long standing customer. I hate writing unfavorable reviews, but this is not the first time I've had this experience at the Basin Rd. location. It will definitely be the last. I will not support such horrible and inexcusable CUSTOMER service.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Today I don't know what happened but I ordered a small cheesesteak with extra cheese and extra meat and it was awful the steak didn't taste right the roll was good but I couldn't even eat it. Probably will not return to this place.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Great quality subs, call ahead because this place seems to be busy, one of my new favorites in new castle
google avatar

Max M.

Yelp
I have been going here around 1987 really good food.the problem is they seem to turn over the staff today I ordered ahead on my phone the women told 25 minutes . Ok no problem I get there and can even get the register . and they are out what orders are up . Ok i will wait until they my name 30 more minutes still no food . I'm noticing people who come in after me are getting there food ??. so I make my way to the register give her my name . her response sorry were busy I under stand . waiting longer and she say o were only working orders as they come in. What why answer the phone . the reason i ordered buy phone so i would not to wait . Not sure if i will go back.
google avatar

Hefe H.

Yelp
Love this place! Whenever I'm in the area it's definitely a must. They don't need fancy tables or chairs. They don't need a big sitting area either. This place serves its purpose and it serves it well. Call ahead, pick it up and keep it pushing!
google avatar

Erica F.

Yelp
My friend & I needed a non-fast food option on our way to Rehoboth Beach, and we were beyond impressed by the freshness and full flavor that Capriotti's offered. While it's clear that it's a popular local spot, we didn't have to wait long for our sandwich & enjoyed it while seated outside (no indoor tables). Will definitely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend.

Carole D.

Yelp
This place has definitely gone downhill. I got the homemade turkey sub and it was dry and bland. I ordered both Mayo and oil because I know this sandwich needs a lot of moisture. But they didn't put the Mayo on it and barely any oil. Also, I ordered hot peppers which they also forgot to put on. This was not worth $12.00 Also, employees are not very friendly.
google avatar

Ling C.

Yelp
Sandwiches are consistenly good but there's always confusion whenever you get in. People not sure what to do. I called ahead to make sure my sandwiches were done and I still had to wait even though they told me it was ready.
google avatar

Jess K.

Yelp
Actually I'd rate this place five and a half stars. All I can say is THE BOBBIE!!! Small little joint off the highway, not too far off I-95...a white shack next top gas station, I would've missed it had it not been for the awnings with the name. My husband had told me about the fresh made turkey, but I did not anticipate the taste explosion that I encountered with my first bite of the Bobbie. This sandwich is akin to the traditional Pilgrim sandwich, turkey, cranberry, stuffing, and mayo. The 12 inch was chalk full of fresh, flavorful turkey, juicy cranberry, and homemade stuffing. The bread was crusty and soft, it was amazing. A must. There are several opening in the DC area as well.... So much better than any other sandwich you'll get at your run of the mill Subway. GO!
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
I have eaten at Capriotti's in the past and was a fan of the cheesesteak with mushrooms. It is an great sandwich with good meat and fresh soft bread. However, what I just had and bumped up the place to 4 stars was the capastrami sandwich. The pastrami was sliced thick enough for some substance and warmed up. Not heavy on the grill marks like some other places but warmed and tasty. The contrast of the cool crunchy slaw that tops the sandwich make a interesting sandwich. The bread is still soft and fresh, but strong enough to stand up to this substantive filling. This is a great hot pastrami sandwich from a place that is quick and convenient.

George F.

Yelp
Consistently inconsistent. You never know what you are going to get. Sometimes the order is perfect and the subs great, other times not so much.
google avatar

Eve A.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to come here and order when visiting family or of town! Simply delicious and great staff/service!
google avatar

Cat C.

Yelp
I heart BOBBIE! I've been hearting Bobbie for the past five years. Lately, however, I've not had the opportunity to heart Bobbie as much as I'd like. I happened to be driving back home from Philly and decided to make a pit stop at this Capriotti's location. Please NOTE: IF YOU ARE A LOCAL, YOU ALREADY KNOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER AHEAD OF TIME! This location is always busy. I mean ALWAYS. This means that they are constantly working on building sandwiches, and your sandwich may be 40th in line. I've warned you! They work fast however, but don't get pouty if you are a walk-in and have to wait twenty minutes for your sandwich. Cause...it's worth it. Oh they have a 20" sub and when patrons ask for a reference point to size, they will bring out a baseball bat. Get the Bobbie, and you will heart it too!

Stefan P.

Yelp
Overpriced and living off their reputation at this point. They laugh at you when asked to deviate in any way, shape or form, tried to charge for a second sandwich when I tried to buy a plain roll. I won't be back for a while.
google avatar

Betty H.

Yelp
I visit Wilmington probably once every two years for work. There was two things I remembered about my first Wilmington experience....the Skins vs. Eagles game, and The BOBBIE. ... The Bobbie, the BEST sub that i have ever eaten. The "small" is a footlong. I believe the price for this is $6.95? It's turkey, cranberry sauce, mayo, and stuffing, on a sub roll. The turkey is fresh, as is the cranberry sauce, and the bread is delicious. I am currently in Wilmington now, and Capriotti's was the first place we stopped at. It's conveniently located off of 95. It's a complete hole in the wall place, sandwiched between a liquor store and a gas station. The subs are the best, and the staff is friendly and efficient. !!!!! love everything about this place! :)

Kimberly M.

Yelp
The best! Home for a while. Always great to get a good sub. Hearty. Fresh. And worth it!

John A.

Yelp
I just ordered the Bobbie, and was definitely the worst sandwich I ever had!! And I have been eating these sandwiches for 20 years, but from other locations. The stuffing was like baby food mush, and they used Ocean Spray jelly for the cranberry topping. Absolutely disgusting!! DO NOT order from this hole in the wall!!!
google avatar

Shan M.

Yelp
I've never been to a bad location but I figured I would review the one I frequent the most. I'm a jersey girl so sub sandwiches are something I am really really picky about. Has to be fresh and can't skimp on the meat. Capriottis never disappoints! Their meat is ALWAYS fresh, they're not shy with the toppings either. I've ask many times for extra of a topping and they've never charged me extra for it. They will accommodate anything you want even if it isn't on their regular menu. I won't order a sandwich anywhere else!
google avatar

Kenny P.

Yelp
Conveniently located off I-95, Capriotti's comes to my rescue (as always). Forget all those generic $5 footlongs from the big chains. Deleware is Capriotti's HQ and since we no longer have the location in San Diego, I wasn't about to pass up this opportunity, As usual, I stuck with the Slaw-Be-Joe (mounds of fresh roast beef, provolone, slaw, and Russian dressing). Just to make sure I got my fix, I was brave and got the 20 incher. Yup, that's one big assed sandwich. Good thing the hotel in Philly had a fridge, as I could only eat 1/4 per sitting (over the course of 2 days). Best $13 on a sandwich spent, period. And no tax in Deleware!
google avatar

Clayton B.

Yelp
Always good subs here, never disappointed. I've been ordering from this location for years and always good customer service and products.

Michael S.

Yelp
I have been going to this store for many years and have yet to have a bad sandwich or bad service. My favorite is the Turkey sub the best I have ever had. Keep doing what you do
