CAPS Supper Club & Bar

We went to CAPS for my birthday dinner last night. The CC Rider Band was amazing and the dance floor was packed the entire time we were there. We really enjoyed the music. The food was good, although my entree could have been warmer. The mac & cheese was excellent and very hot. I personally didn’t care for the cheesecake bites but my husband thought they were great. The service was inconsistent and we had to wait a long time to order dessert. I was aware of the entertainment fee in advance and it was well worth it. I was surprised by the automatic gratuity. It wasn’t an issue, just mentioning it for awareness. We will definitely be back.

A group of six went to Caps for dinner and dancing. We were celebrating two birthdays, and we had a great time. Dawn was the best waitress and Caleb, one of the managers came over to check on us twice. Dawn made sure our drinks were full and was quick to respond. The food was excellent, from the pasta to the salmon, everyone loved the dishes we ordered. We had so much fun dancing to the band and then they brought two complimentary desserts and a champagne toast to celebrate the birthdays. We will be back!

Amazing time! Our server, Bree, was excellent and very attentive. The crusted lamb chops were so succulent.

SUCH A VIBE! This place was such a great time. The service (Dawn) was an amazing and attentive server. The music tonight was phenomenal as well. Food was 10/10. I recommend the lamb chops!! We will definitely be back to have another great night.

Friday May 30th was our wedding anniversary. We like to try new places as often as we can. We decided to try CAPS super club because the menu looked so good. They did not disappoint and the hospitality was above and beyond. Melanie, Ayla , Caleb even the Chef - all stopped by to greet us and make sure our time with them was special. They even played music to make the ambiance more romantic. Totally recommend this spot! Thank you to the staff for your kindness, attention, service and great food.

My first time here for R&B night! Bree was my service and awesome as hell. That steak was cooked to perfection and I’ll definitely be back!! Oh & the ambiance is niceeeeeeeee. The crane outside said it all! 😂😂

Bri was amazing, great attitude and just a pleasure. She made the best lemon drip that I’ve ever had! Also, the food was unexpectedly very good and well seasoned. I will definitely be back. I went on a Thursday, there was also a live DJ.

Me and my husband were in town for our anniversary and definitely enjoyed ourselves. The live band and the atmosphere was beautiful. Our server was Ms Dawn she was great! She has such great energy and made our night a little bit more special 🥰

This place with everything! The service all around from the hostess, the server and the bartender, they made sure that every bit of our experience was amazing. The food was 10/10 and definitely worth the price. from the appetizers to the entrées, great portions and lots of flavors. Drink or delicious too. I even had a tasty mocktail catered to my liking. I was surprised how There were also lots of couples that over a very diverse crowd all around. we enjoyed the beautiful singer and pianist that performed all night and had folks on the dance floor enjoying their Friday night. Definitely recommend!

Okay this place is just weird! This is the kind of the place that you are either going to love it, or just "meh" it. It definitely attracts a certain type of crowd. I was invited by some friends to see a rock band and have a "super club" type experience. Sounded kinda weird to me, but I am always up for something new. When I walked in, I could tell in an instant it wasn't going to be for me. The place is beautiful inside, but the setup is super weird and the space just isn't for this type of dining. Some tables are way in the back, so you don't even have a view of the stage, other are on the sides of the stage to where you are seeing the backside of the entertainers, most are places around the dance floor. We were seated at a side table by super loud speakers and a back view of the performers. I couldn't hear a thing anyone was saying at our dinner table when the show started, which is a shame because the food was out of this world. It would have been great to actually enjoy the food, drinks and conversation while not sitting next to speakers. All that we ordered was outstanding - The naughty fries, deviled eggs, short ribs, and so much more. There wasn't a terrible thing. The drinks were great too. Our service was also fantastic. Let me add, that princes aren't cheap here. My problem with the place is....do you want to be fine dining or do you want to be an entertainment venue? The two did not work well for me with the space they have. But like I said, this place isn't for everyone, but it IS for a lot of people. So maybe read some other reviews and get a better idea.

I thought Caps was just a regular restaurant but how wrong was I. I went on a Thursday and Dj Old School was playing all of my favorites. The aesthetics give an amazing blend of upscale sophistication with romance, making this the perfect place for a date night. This is also a good place to get sexy and sit at the bar ladies. I ordered 2 old fashions that had me tipsey enough to sing to everyone. The service was grand standing, I felt very special. Their bathroom has a vanity mirror with perfect lighting to make sure your makeup is on point ladies . I don't see that often at a restaurant. OMG! The food was crazy amazing. I ordered the lamb chops, spinach mac & cheese with roasted veggies. The food was seasoned to perfection. Caps Supper Club & Bar is a perfect night. I would recommend this place to anyone on any day and twice on Saturdays. Pull up Houston!

Chloe was AWESOME. She was attentive and pleasant from start to finish. She made sure we were fully taken care of during our visit. The restaurant itself was wonderful. The ambiance was great and the mix of people made it very pleasant. I was celebrating my birthday and the manager made sure to stop by and thank us for coming to celebrate at CAPS. | give it a 10/10 experience.

I was in desperate need to find live music on a Friday night that wasn't a production (deposit, table minimum, cover etc.) I found this spot on yelp and found out it recently reopened. I made a reservation for 4 and hoped for the best. This spot is beautiful on the inside and perfect backdrop for a Friday night. The kitchen is open late (our reservation was for 10:15). The croquet bites and calamari were great to munch on and tasted fresh. I also had a whiskey flight that was pretty tasty. The music was mostly RnB and Old School Hits. The band was great and the crowd was loving it. I liked that there is a dance floor and no one is afraid to dance!

We went here for a date and was very pleased with choosing this place. The ambiance was nice, the decor was beautiful and the food was amazing. I was disappointed that the lamb chops had just became sold out because I was really looking forward to it . However, we ended up getting the crawfish fried rice, the braised short rib, the filet mignon, the Mac and cheese, the grilled oysters, and the cheesecake trio. When I tell you EVERYTHING was good. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. The steak was the most tender steak I've ever had in my LIFE! OKAY!? We will be back again. Our waitress was excellent by the way. She provided great service and was very friendly.

This place is totally amazing! The renovation and change is beyond words could ever express! RL Bell is a phenomenal artist.

A varied menu with delicious gourmet food. The wine selection and craft cocktails are good, too. The best thing is the service which is excellent! I have been there many times and keep going back because of the friendly staff and live music. The variety of live music is also a great addition to the dining experience. They have a dance floor and sometimes we skip a full meal and go for a an evening of wine/drinks, dance, and have their great charcuterie board. Our group of ladies really like their "theme" nights. ABBA night was an incredibly fun night. The club has a very classy ambiance , and we find the price range for the ambiance very reasonable.

I enjoyed a fun holiday party here, the restaurant is lovely, it is very comfortable, nicely decorated for the season and located in an area away from the traffic with great ( free) convenient parking. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Drinks were definitely strong and you actually got a good portion. The staff were very friendly and attentive ... but I would expect that because surprisingly we were the only customers the entire night. This is actually the second time I've been here and it was just as empty before. They have a great karaoke stage, I just hope the survive

Dear readers, if you're looking for a nice place to have dinner and entertainment, look no further...I can't speak for the food, we only went for drinks, but it did look really good...we had not been before the remodel, but we live in the area, and were excited to try it out once they reopened. They did a fantastic job, the place is really cool...There is a cover charge of you go after 10 I believe...we sat at the bar...the drinks were good, and the band was excellent...they played a variety of music....lots a people dancing...it was really fun.

If your looking for a proper supper club, this place isn't it. You'll need to go to Chicago or New York. I guess I should have known when I pulled up to a strip mall. I had high hopes when I heard that houston had a supper club. Food while ok is over priced, and the entertainment was mediocre at best. What a disappointment

My husband and I went to CAPS last night (Sat) for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We came specifically to see Big Shot the Billy Joel Experience since we are big Billy Joel fans. They were terrific but we were also so impressed with everything about this venue. The decor is beautiful, food delicious, service outstanding and great entertainment. We loved the intimate nature of the club as well. We will definitely be back!

My husband and i have been here three times. We had dinner the first time and were pleasantly surprised... delicious! The other two times, Including last night, for dancing and wine. We always have good service! Many of these reviews are from before the renovation. It was a dive before, yes, but it is gorgeous inside! They kept the best part of the old place: the band! So fun! It's great to have a place like this in the neighborhood.

Great service. The food was delicious I had the prime ribeye and it was cooked as expected. Many time my medium ends up more on the medium well but not this time. Drinks were on point I love a good French 75 and my husband had the old fashion. Will be going back.

Decided to try the new Caps Supper Club. The drinks are expensive and the size of Utah drinks. Our appetizer was served cold. The manager offered us drinks to compensate for the cold appetizer. They brought the appetizer back cold again. We asked for our check. It was incorrect. They corrected it when we pointed it out but made us pay for the drinks they offered us to compensate. I would not go here! The manager coped an attitude. We gave our waitress a 20%+ tip. Not her fault. Stay away unless you want to be ripped off!!

They advertise ABbA... total bs ! The dj played a couple of dings & then their regular band f all came in a 10pm & played disco Why advertise ABBA ?? Such bs ! Bartender was great! Music average

Alexis was our server and greeted us at the door. Took time to ask questions , give recommendations and offered us wonderful "upgrades". The ambiance was beautiful but also fun- it was karaoke and a dj night. And the food was excellent! The toffee pudding for dessert ....omg....my husband and I both closed our eyes and were in heaven! Moving to Houston in 3 weeks and we'll be back! Thanks Alexis !!

The ambience was amazing and it is in discreet area with loads of parking. There's a doorman and friendly hosts and bartenders along with live music. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the drinks they are different and refreshing in that sense but too sweet and the food is better (7.5) than most but not amazing. I honestly wouldn't go back but it is a nice place to experience.

The food is good. I had the snapper and my wife had the steak. Portions are not small and sides are plentiful. Service is attentive and with a smile. Ambience can be good but depends on the band and your preference. We very much enjoyed the Motown group a month ago but the band at NYE was too generic rock for us. We recommend this place for couples but check website for your music tastes.

We went to the re-opening of CAPS. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance is nice. The band was a little loud but we were told they were working on the sound balance. It was a great evening out.

Located in the shopping center behind House of Pies, one could easily miss this nondescript hideaway. Inside the low lights greet you. The band is going strong, and you've been transported into a Miami vice atmosphere. It's timeless and just what you needed. At the table, the waitress is attentive and greets you with a bowl of popcorn. The popcorn is free, but the stiff cocktails are not. The bartenders will pour you a perfectly crafted cocktail. The old fashions are excellent. Older couples in their fifties and up make up the majority of the patrons, and many I suspect are regulars. Small pockets of younger patrons also gather here. On occasion some more colorful couples can be seen here. After all, this is the bar one visits when one does not wish to be seen. People will break out into all sorts of dancing when their favorite tunes come up. Don't be shy. It's a no judgement zone and lots of fun! Definitely come for a night of great live music. There is cover charge, but there is a drink minimum.

Tonight was the worst experience that I had for an experience to go dancing. The management was the rudest I have ever experienced. We were to have a large party of 20+ over 50 to go dancing and eat. Nothing was prepared for our group and they were not going to put tables together. The menu is awful expensive for the size of bar/restaurant that this dive is. Never have I seen "Ribs" on a menu for $59. I would give CAPS a below Zero rating but 1star is the lowest available. Do not waste your time. CAPS is disgusting!!

Always a great experience until last night. We came to listen to live music and dance. The dance floor was packed and everyone was having a great time. The band took a break and was replace with a DJ. I would estimate 70% of the crowd left at that time around 11:00. When talking to the manager about it she became rude and said it was her decision. I'm just not sure we will return again. I will close with the band was excellent, the food was very good, and staff was exceptional as always.

This is elegant dinner dance club in west houston provides an excellent upscale experience. The devour, food and wine were excellent. The band provided nice dance music. It was nice to spend an evening in a casual and classy spot.

You know, your bartenders really should tell new people that there is a minimum... no prices on the menu. So we asked how much the well drinks were. Were told $12. We came in just to check the place out and have ONE drink. Then we're slapped with a $50 bill for 2 lousy drinks due to a "minimum" that we were not told about up front.. So then we were given some more liquor to make up for it because who is going to pay $50 for 2 so-so well drinks?! 4 drinks was $43... the math is not mathing. I can afford it, no problem. The problem was ZERO communication. If we had just been told up front, then we could have made a decision if we wanted to come back at another time when we had more time to spend and hadn't already been drinking elsewhere. Common courtesy would be to inform new patrons. We had fun anyway but due to the lack if communication likely will never return. Service was crappy. At least the people were fun there and music was okay.

I was here last month with friends and loved it. The food is amazing, the cellar is outstanding and the service was absolutely wonderful. We also loved the ambiance, it truly feels like an upscale speakeasy with great live music in such a cozy interior. Kudos to management and staff!

Entertainmrnt is great. Same house band from years back. Food is mediocre and service is horrible. Management doesn't seem to recognize service issues! Too bad- it is a great looking redo of this location

I'm so sad that The Cap has been closed for so long but hopefully it's going to return very soon. I've been going there forever and love the live bad who performs. They'll play almost whatever you like from oldies to newbies and the dance floor is perfect. Please open soon. My dancing feet are sorely missing you

Won't be going back. After years of going there for the band even though I have my reservations for many reasons. The place is so antiquated and once I complained about the barstools as they didn't have cushion left and often found myself sliding off them. One day I finally saw a few new barstools. By all accounts the place is actually a dive. Rumor had it that they were going to close in May and I was thrilled because I didn't want to go there anymore. My boyfriend likes to dance and has been going there for 20 years religiously. I went on occasion when there was nothing else. The band has been there forever and play the same music week in and week out. They are a good band and I have always enjoyed them but, it becomes old after a while. The people that go there are stuck in a time warp and think this band is the best thing since Tommy Dorsey. In fact some people who have been going there for years probably met Tommy Dorsey. The place usually operates with a small crew. I have stood at the bar and waited a good amount of time for a drink many times. Actually, one could say this is a good thing because it helps prevent one from getting too drunk. I enjoy Cosmopolitans and Jimmy happens to make a good one. However if you enjoy drinking from an eyedropper for $12.00 a pop then hap at it. My days of Caps are over and as I understand the days for Caps may soon be too. Uptown Houston doesn't have many places with live music. Downtown doesn't have much either for the older crowd (widows, widowers and divorcees). So if you are looking for a place to go after dinner, it just may be your home address is the best bet.

A classic old school dance club. One of a kind...sit back and do some people watching, tap your toes to some great tubes, or get on the dance floor and have fun. It's like a vacation right in the middle of the city.

HORRIBLE experience: - One drink minimum instead of a cover charge (those in AA BEWARE!) - REFUSES to serve water before you buy a drink (or, charges $6.50 for a water!) - No printed wine list . . . they make up prices on the fly - Puny overpriced 3 oz wine servings - Both bartender and table server are rude and indifferent - Took us almost 30 minutes to get our bill and pay it THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN ! ! !

Really interesting place. If you enjoy people watching, this is the place to go. The band is great and everyone is always having a fun time. The band sings so many old classics. The dance floor gets packed so come ready to dance. Odd note; they give you free popcorn

Nice loungy piano bar that offers live jazz and blues nightly. And open mic night on Mondays! It's kinda hidden the House of Pies, so look out for it.

This place has been in business since 1987 so they must be doing something right. The place was packed wall to wall and very very busy. This seems to be a long time locals hangout It is for sure a 50+ Age crowd. Even a 45 year old could feel out of place In this bar. This place could use a remodel and refresh in a major way. Service was ok by the waitress but in no was stellar. I give this place 3 stars because of its longevity and the fact it was jam packed with people after we had left 2 other new places that were dead. Even if it's not my age crowd the people there seemed to be having the time of their life.

A place like no other in Houston. Step inside and you might think you're in 1975. Has the feel of jazz bar from the 70s or 80s. The crowd is a bit older, maybe 50-60 on average. Live music is great. Starts at 9:45 or so. Drinks are kind of expensive, at about $10 each. But since there is no cover, seems reasonable.

Caps is a throwback to an earlier era!! Caps is tucked into a small strip center...just a mile or two west of the Galleria. Walk inside...it's dark...rather small...and looks like it was last re-modeled in the 70's. Now the good news...if you like live music that's easy to dance to...Caps is the place to be...great house band...they play both classic R&B and more current pop/rock tunes...and after a few drinks...everyone is on the dance floor! Caps doesn't really start rocking until 10:00...Friday & Saturday night are great for people watching! The crowd is mainly 40 Plus (possibly 50 Plus)...with a few young people mixed-in. Friday's appears to be "Singles night"...but Saturday's are a bit tamer...with more couples in attendance... Overall...great fun if you enjoy dancing...or just people watching! No cover-charge...with reasonably priced drinks...good wait staff...
