I really like the orea/nutella filled and custard filled pastries. They are the pictured ones in the shape of a fish. I would definitely recommend trying them! We also bought a dalgona cookie. If you’re able to cut the cookie out they will give you a free pastry. Great service and atmosphere. Pastries are not too sweet and delicious.

Wanted a snack and decided to come here to give them a try. I ordered a hot cheetos tornado potato, Japchae hotteok, and honey nut hotteok. All were eh. The tornado potato wasn’t hot. The hotteok’s didn’t taste that great, very chewy, like eating alot of fried batter.

I’ve been to Korea & have tried all of these over there. This place is just as good as what you find over there. The cheese coin is my favorite! This is a good place for a snack!

I went one night to see what Captain Bbang is about. The menu is small. Everything is fried. I ordered an old mochi donut. Because it was on discount. I took it and gave it a try. It tasted old. I would rather pay full price for a fresher one.

Google
Service: Nice. Slight language barrier but that’s okay. Just mentioning so others know what to expect. Atmosphere: Great! Wasn’t busy when we went. Nice Korean background music. Food: Got the Hotteok original, Hotteok honey cheese, the Penny Bbang oreo-nutella, and the slushy mango. Hotteok original w/ cinnamon & sugar nut - 4/5 Hotteok honey cheese - 2/5 Penny Bbang oreo-nutella - 5/5 Slushy - 5/5

Google
Hip Korean snack place! Super cool and simple interior design - feels a bit like in a comic book. Recommend to try tornado potato 🌪️ 🥔 Food is served fast! Enough seating and parking!

Google
I am so happy to have tried freshly made hotteok, a popular Korean street food, in Houston. I highly recommend it! They also have hot taiyaki and penny Bbang and tornado potatoes which I also recommend. Everything was so delicious.😍 The place is newly opened and clean. The interior was unique and pretty, and the atmosphere was nice. The service is excellent too. Everything was perfect!!🤩👍👍

Google
What can I say? Captain Bbang definitely exceeded my expectations! ❤️ The food was amazing. The counter help was amazing. Place is amazing. I had the 1 cent coin (filled with cheese), the fish (filled with Oreo-nutella), and the tornado potato (onion seasoning). Definitely recommend and I’ll be going back.

Yelp
Looking for Korean treats this is your place!! Best tanghulu I've had in Houston. Very nice seating inside and friendly employees.

Yelp
Eh, they have some fun menu items (taiyaki, mochi balls, teas, tanghulu) but it all tastes ok and the service is a bit slow. I ordered the oreo-nutella penny bang, 2 taiyakis (red bean and ube), and my friend got the hawaiian fruit tea. I enjoyed the penny bang the most due to the shape and design of the dessert and the filling was good. The taiyakis fell a bit flat for me, as I felt that 75% of it was the cooked batter and just a bit of filling in the very center. The ube taiyaki didn't carry much flavor either. Service was a bit slow and everything was served piece mail style. First the penny bang was ready, then a few minutes later the fruit tea, then a few minutes later the taiyaki. Would've been nice to just go up and get my order all at once. It did seem like they were working with minimal staff, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but it just wasn't ideal. All in all, I feel that there are higher quality dessert places in a highly competitive chinatown area.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for a while. Went on a Thursday evening and it was not crowded at all. I guess a lot of the hype has died down. The place is decorated like those 2D cafes. Most the warm foods like the taiyaki and hotteok were made to order and we were warned that it would take 8-10 minutes. The rose tteokbokki was very spicy, too much for me. You could see the specks of spice in the sauce and there wasn't very much cream. The rice cakes were nice and chewy though, almost impossible to pick up with chopsticks with how much sauce there was. The hotteok was fresh and warm, with a good amount of cheese and nicely sweetened with honey. The taiyaki I took home for later, and it was great to eat reheated. The chocolate was maybe a little too sweet and the sweet potato had a large helping of potato. Finally, the blue raspberry slushie was an emergency purchase after realizing we couldn't handle the spice and for only $5, it came with the novelty cup and a lot of slushie. Nothing particularly special about the slushie, it's hard to mess up flavoring syrup and ice. I think I came in without a high expectation because the reviews have been pretty mid, but overall, I think I got what I expected. Probably nothing I would go out of the way for but if I'm ever craving some Korean street food, this isn't a bad option.

Yelp
I read most of the reviews at Captain Bbang. I couldn't believe the biggest complaint was the service. I came here once before. I didn't like the service either. But for the benefit of doubt, I wanted to give them another try. I ordered one mochi donut on my first-time trying Captain Bbang. It wasn't spectacular. Because it was right before the closing time. Service was so-so. I came back tonight. I ordered one spicy japchae hotteok. I guess the cashier was in training. I didn't bother to rate it. But I waited 9 minutes to find my order was sitting on the counter. No one made me aware that my order was ready. Oh that's terrible. On top of that, there was no utensils in the cup or forks nearby. The food was flavorful but I had to go home to use my metal fork to eat it.

Yelp
If you're looking for a hot, freshly made snack for the munchies or dessert, Captain Bbang has your back. Korean desserts called hotteok are little rounds of dough filled with a cinnamon brown sugar mixture (traditionally) or even japchae (savory chewy clear noodles mixed with veggies) are pan fried to order. The taiyaki (a Japanese fish-shaped snack with sweet filling), penny bbang (Bbang = bread, add a melty cheese or Nutella inside), and egg bbang (an actual egg inside) are baked in molds for their distinctive shapes. I asked what the differences between the taiyaki and penny bbang were: the taiyaki batter turns out crispier, while the penny bbang is softer and sweeter. And for sure, the penny's dough was more like a pancake than a crispy shell! Hotteok: One order came with 2- the sweet, cinnamon-y filling was super hot, sticky, and liquidy. Enjoyed it piping hot! I prefer the filling to be less runny. The exterior almost tasted similar to green onion pancake dough (without the green onions). Would order again :) Taiyaki: while they were out of custard fillings, the red bean and sweet potato really hit the spot. I don't see the sweet potato filling often, and their version was delicious! Paired well with the crispy shell. We want to try the custard next time, and I'm definitely getting the sweet potato again! Penny bbang: They only offered 1 sweet filling for this one, and the Oreo-Nutella filling fell flat for me. The Oreo didn't have any cream, and the pancake-y dough was more on the soft side. I liked the taiyaki better. But if you like cheese, it would be a great choice for cheese pulls :P They also offer "tornado potatoes" (think potato accordion on a stick) and drinks, but we stuck to the hot, carb-y smacks. Service was friendly :). The interior is simple and starkly white inside, but there's lots of seating. Wish there was a water jug available! Will be coming back when the munchies hit!

Yelp
I was so excited when I heard about this place because I miss Korean food from when I lived there and because I'm vegetarian now so I can't eat out for the savory foods, but street food comes to the rescue! This place took over Beard Papa's location in the Bellaire Food Street center. It's done up in line art in black and white colors - simple but more than enough. I personally like it. There's a pretty good amount of tables along one side and counters by the window BUT no chairs for the counter so if you have kids, fingers crossed there are tables available. The staff are nice and it tickled me to see a machine dispensing the dough for hoddeok because I'm used to watching an ahjumma making everything by hand. I was staring for a while until I realized it's right next to the hoddeok frying station. I wanted one of everything but they were out of the gyeran-bbang (egg) and the black sesame coffee, which was a bummer, but I still ordered a decent amount: Bungeobbang (called taiyaki here which is funny because that's the Japanese name of the snack): I got 2, one with custard and another in Oreo/nutella for my daughter. I didn't eat this whole fresh but my daughter enjoyed hers! I ate it later when it was no longer crispy but it was good. The 'dough' part wasn't that sweet and had a slight chew on it. I imagine it would have been great fresh. Penny bang: I don't remember this when I was in Korea so it's new to me, but from what I see, there's a lightly sweet batter (reminds me of pancakes) with a melty cheese filling. Lovely cheese pull on it and quite good. Hoddeok: I opted for the traditional brown sugar filling and it came in a cup, as it usually would in Korea. Piping hot so beware of burning your mouth. Nice crisp outside and it had a nice chew as well... BUT I didn't get any filling until I got to the middle of the hoddeok. I'm not sure if it's due to gravity because the hoddeok I've had in Korea usually gave me a taste of the filling by the second bite. Note that this is fried in oil and it's greasy and NOT a diet food, haha. Usually found at every corner in Korea in the colder months and Korea is very much pedestrian friendly and they get actual winters. It works. They get kudos for getting me all excited. Lost a star because they were out of 2 items (I was there an hour before closing on Christmas Day so it's not like the beginning of the day or else they'd lose 2 stars) and my hoddeok needed more filling. Aside from that, everything hit the spot. I'm glad they're here (but I'm sad Beard Papa is gone). Next time, I plan on trying the Bungeobbang with the sweet potato filling as well as the items they were out of on this visit.

Yelp
Definitely on the trendier side of snack places. I came in when it was empty. Nice clean place. The penny was good! Like two pancakes with cheese inside Maybe a bit on the pricier side though. Staff was cordial in taking my order

Tan N.

Yelp
Overall meh. Nothing crazy nothing new The coin stuffed with cheese was OK Ours both came slightly burnt with barely any filling A nice charry flavor due to the overcooked The tornado potato wasn't even a whole potato Penny pinching. It was probably half of one and the flavor was lacking. Rather wait for the rodeo and get my fill there We also got the pan fried pancakes the Oreo and the spicy japchae Once again the filling was lacking but this time it was undercooked vs overcooked Probably won't comeback Menu is very limited

Yelp
This place is happening on a weekend. Long lines and not enough seating. There is definitely room for more seats. The menu is not extensive but it is tasty. Items are made to order so you have to be a little patient. Ordered Sweet Potato Taiyaki (nice and crispy just a bit on the sweet side 8/10), also ordered Hotteok Original (crispy outside and gooey inside 8.5/10) I heard someone say just like Korea and Hotteok Japchae (very tasty 8/10). This strip center is very busy. There is limited space at the store front but there is a garage... which also fills up quickly.

Thuy P.

Yelp
Saw this place on IG and I was in Bellaire area. I stopped by to try out. Heard the penny cake and the sesame coffee are popular so I gave it a try. A bit disappointed bcoz none of them r good. The coffee is OK but lack of sugar and lucky that I don't put sugar in my coffee and still taste plain. Can't imagine on those who drink with sugar. The penny cake was nah... definitely not something I want to come back for it.

Kenny N.

Yelp
Penny bbang brings a touch of Japan to mind. I visited after work and ordered two Penny bbangs, one cheese, and one Oreo. The preparation took around 8-10 minutes. However, I noticed the fillings were only in the center. Upon biting into them, we found mostly batter and very little filling. It would have been better if the filling was more evenly spread throughout. The shop is on the smaller side, and there was a crowd waiting for tables. With only around 5 tables seating 4 people each, it felt a bit cramped, and people were waiting for seats.

Johnathan N.

Yelp
Heard about this place on instagram social media went and ahead to check it out . The food was good! They make it fresh to order! Which is the best time to eat these delicious Korean street food when it's hot. When I went it was their soft opening. The service was good, simple and fast. Hotteok cinnamon sugar 4/5 Taiyaki fired bean 4.2/ Overall I would come back the parking spot of the place has garage parking but it's not the best parking spot. The inside was very cute and modern look . They have couple of tables but I recommend if it gets busy just grab and go

Stephanie Z.

Yelp
Yum! This is a new dessert/snack restaurant in Bellaire, and I'm so glad I got the chance to try it. We opted for the original hotteok and the taiyaki. The items are freshly made and were all delicious! The outside of the desserts was perfectly crispy and the insides had a nice chew. The hotteok was the sweetest item and was nicely caramelized on the outside. We got to try the sweet potato filling, the custard filling and the red bean filling in the taiyaki. The custard filling was not on the soft opening menu, but the employees kindly gave us one taiyaki with custard filling to try. All of the fillings were good, but my favorite was the custard! They're in their soft opening phase, so not all the menu items were available,They have savory and sweet items. When I come back, I want to try the tornado potatoes because they smelled amazing. It's in one of the smaller plazas, so parking is a little more difficult. I'd suggest looking in the parking garage adjacent to it. It was very clean inside (the tables, counters, and bathrooms), and they had a decent amount of tables to sit at. The service was great; the employees working there were very sweet and friendly.

Christine D.

Yelp
First time here but long time follower. I've had Korean snacks before so I knew what was on the menu. The group I went with didn't know what a lot of items were and Jasmin was so patient and explained the items in question. Our food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. Super cute place. Very fun. We'll be back.

Brayan U.

Yelp
Went during the week, 0 customers in line. Got the cheese coin and it was 10/10 would definitely recommend. Definitely cute Instagram-able place and would recommend if that's your thing.

Ha C.

Yelp
As per usual parking lot is terrible in this shopping strip. They do accept credit cards & cash. As for pricing I feel it's not bad items between under $6-7 and made hot in the spot. Just going to 85 bakery bread cost almost $3 and been sitting out for a while. It's inflation and these munchies isn't something we can make at home either. Overall a cute spot to get sweet or savory munchies you can't really get majority of items elsewhere. My kids also enjoy coming here when we just want a snack. Hotteok- can't really find it made fresh elsewhere in Houston. It reminds me of a Pepusa but the dough is chewier & not dry. I wasn't a fan of the japchae prefer more veggies like shiitake mushroom or some kind of protein. My favorite is the cheese & hot honey. The original brown sugar is good but I prefer savory. They love the tornado potato. It comes in bringle seasoning 'cheese & onion' seasoning or Kim chi seasoning. My kid likes to mix both seasoning on their potatoes. It does get cool & can get soggy quick but works out for my kids. It's still delicious to munch on. Penny cheese bbang- sweet and savory and the cheese pull on this I heard the Nutella version was good as well. I feel you need this hot on the spot. But still good reheated in the air fryer. Taiyaki- the cheese taiyaki is my favorite. The crisp and cheese pull is chefs kiss. My family enjoys the sweet potato & Oreo. Egg bbang- my child loves this 'hot pocket egg bread' egg is cooked medium, yolk still a little runny perfect. We enjoyed with and without bacon. The slushies- my kids love the cotton candy and banana strawberry. It comes in a cute little rubber animal yard cups Tanghulu- I tried to make it at home but it was a mess. Save your time and buy it from here if you want to see what it taste like it. It's crunchy and sweet. I think I like it more than my kids & I like the popping candy but ended up getting too sweet. This would be a good pairing with white wine.

Yelp
I had tried this place when it first opened with a couple of my cousins after finding it on TikTok/Instagram. The decor and theme of the place is great for hanging out, 10/10 on that part. The price is definitely up there (pricey) for the value of the food that you get. The servers/workers are nice and food was served very fast. I so badly wanted to love this place and the food they have, but it was just not it for me unfortunately. I got the spicy japchae hotteok and found it very bland and super greasy. The bottom of my cup was just oil and soy sauce. I also tried the penny cheese bbang and found the batter also lacking in flavor. I think it needed to be just a bit sweeter because the flavor was so subtle it almost just wasn't there. The taiyaki/bungeoppang was super tiny for the price I paid for them, I was disappointed the most with those. Overall, just okay snacks. Not the best (unless they changed the recipe since I went there). Pretty pricey. I'd suggest to try something else.

Samantha L.

Yelp
The cheese bbang, my favorite but very expensive for what it is- $5.00. The red beans was too sweet, the custard was only okay. The biggest disappointment was the Black Sesame coffee. There was no black sesame flavor, but I enjoyed the foam. 3 items (5 taiyaki, 1 penny bbang and 1 drink) before tip was $24. Pretty steep price for only okay items. Friendly service, it was fast (we were the only customers on a weekday). I like somi somi more.

Haeli Y.

Yelp
The service was good. They are in the soft opening phase so didn't have the egg bread, which I was most excited for. Cute cafe with the 2D art. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but maybe one day down the road to check out the egg bread once it is available.

Justine H.

Yelp
Oh look... another underwhelming trendy dessert spot in Chinatown. 2023 was the year for trendy food. It's 2024... can we go back to eating good food yet? Captain Bbang offers a short menu of Korean street food desserts, with the majority being some variety of filled dough. Big yawn. The menu itself is a little hard to peruse since nothing has a proper description, so here's a breakdown of each item and what I tried: - Hotteok: Flour yeast dough pancake, filled and cooked on a griddle. I tried the honey cheese flavor, and this was probably my favorite of the whole order. The dough had a decent glutinous chew. Cheesy on the inside and a good balance of sweet and salty. - Penny Bbang: Another filled pancake-like batter cooked in a griddle mold that forms the pastry into a coin-shape - more commonly known as 10-won bread in Korea. More fluffy than the hotteok, less crisp than the taiyaki. I ordered the popular cheese flavor. The dough is very basic and boring, filled with a generous amount of mozzarella. Make sure to eat it quickly to get that satisfying Instagram cheese-pull, otherwise, you'll be stuck with a rubbery, sad, inedible puck. - Taiyaki Bbang: This Japanese staple is yet another filled pancake-like batter cooked in a griddle mold, but this time... shaped like a fish! I ordered one red bean and one Nutellla. The Nutella filling was borderline burnt. I thoroughly enjoy the taiyaki at Somi Somi more. - Tornado Potato: It's true that the tornado potato originated in Korea, but the version available at the rodeo is 10x better. We tried the cheese/onion flavor, which was weirdly sweet and not all that cheesy or oniony. The tornado potato itself was barely warm. - Coffee: We ordered two drinks - the house latte and the pistachio latte. The drinks were almost indistinguishable from one another in taste. In the end, we didn't know whose was whose. Korea is home to dozens of street foods, but Captain Bbang made sure to only serve ones that are nearly identical to one another. The interior is really cute, but the food shows lack of range and proper execution. All-in-all, Captain Bbang is a great reminder at the beginning of this new year - just because something is attractive doesn't mean it has any substance.

Ada C.

Yelp
TRY THE PENNY BBANG- pancakes filled with ooey gooey cheese! Oh em gee it was gooooooo good! Eat it while it's fresh and hot, or just reheat it. The melted cheese would be so stretchy and make a happy cheese pull moment. The taiyaki fish filled with red bean paste was pretty good as well. Choose red bean filling- just can't go wrong with sweetened red bean paste. On the other hand, the sweet potato filling was alright. SKIP the japchae hotteok and save yourself $3.50. The hotteok itself was okay, but the japchae within was dry and bland. I would try a cinnamon sugar hotteok next time.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Been here twice. Service time has improved, snacks came out a little quicker than my first visit. The decor is a 2D concept similar to a place in Chicago. Einspanner is a must try (pistachio and house latte). Not many Houston places offer this type of coffee, and the price was reasonable. The matcha einspanner is still unavailable, so hoping to try it next time. Personal favorite is the bbringkle tornado potato, while kimchi has a spicy kick to it. Would order the spicy japchae and original hotteok again! Taiyaki bbang is only worth trying once. Staff attitude could be better and friendlier, but overall not a terrible experience.

Sameet R.

Yelp
We tried them during their soft opening yesterday and the penny bang was delicious and cheesy goodness. However, the cinnamon sugar hot Taki was a little too greasy for my taste. They have a 10% discount going on right now, so now is a good time to check them out for dessert.

Emmy S.

Yelp
Saw this place blow up on IG and decided to take a visit. I ordered The taiyaki and a einspanner. The taiyaki was generously filled, but it was a little too sweet for me and messy to ear. And as for the einspanner, it wasn't that good. They have plenty of other snacks that I do want to try, hopefully will be back soon. Service was okay, very straightforward.

Van D.

Yelp
This little shop took over the former Beard Papa. Aesthetically it's beautiful. Staff is friendly. I've had a lot better food though. Flavor was bland. There's more dough than filling so you get this really dry and chewy dough when you eat it. Most of everything we got was overcooked. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't look that brown.

Kevin H.

Yelp
The food was mediocre. The spicy japcae had a bitter aftertaste and was not good at all. Red bean was okay but was not the red bean I am use to eating. The breading was good and crunchy. The pistachio coffee is really good but the coffee is strong. Overall, the place is cute but it's more so for aesthetics. I would come back for the coffee but nothing else.

Diana J.

Yelp
This place is so cute. I got the black sesame coffee that just tasted like coffee. I didn't taste a lick of black sesame. The potosi tornado was cold and not crunchy. The taiyaki is decent. Made fresh. The original hotteok with cinnamon sugar that's gooey and good. Overall, it's okay, but I rather go elsewhere.

Gia N.

Yelp
Yummy yummy!!! I got the japchae bbang, Penny bbang, and the potato and they were all delicious. They make the food after you order them. The service was fast. I didn't have to wait long for my food. Cute decors. Def will be back soon!!

Sophia K.

Yelp
I was pleased to see a new place with Korean munchies. The decor was super cute- something like a cute, aesthetic coffee shop in Asia. The service was great. The food was pretty good! My favorite was the taiyaki. We got the sweet potato and custard. The sweet potato was a bit too sweet for me but the custard was decent. The texture of the batter was the best part. It's so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We got the tornado potato with kimchi seasoning because they were out of the cheese/onion seasoning. I did not care for this. I also got the original hotteok and it tasted exactly like the ones from my childhood. Would recommend!

Jellybean A.

Yelp
These are traditional Korean street snacks, most popular during Winter. Growing up in Korea and being a fan of red bean desserts I had to try. Service was great, very nice folks behind the counter but the flavor was bit disappointing. Red bean filling was rather too sweet without much of red bean flavor(making red bean dessert is work of art, let me tell you...). Bottom was ok, not enough peanuts or cinnamon flavor, and it tasted too much like grease that it was fried on. Try it once, you might like it.

Lisa H.

Yelp
I love Captain Bbang! They have amazing Korean snacks. Food: My go to order is their taiyaki/bungeoppang. The sweet potato filling is my favorite. It is the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Not too sweet which is nice. The red bean is pretty good too. The oreo and nutella fillings are very sweet, so I don't normally order those. I also love their hotteok because it is sweet and warming. Service: They do kind of take a while for them to make your order since everything is made to order. I think they are improving though! Ambiance: The store is really nice and cute. It has an almost 2D picture vibe, so it's great for taking pictures.

damon c.

Yelp
Love it here reminds of snacks from way way long ago when I visited Korea. Everything tasted great and service was great. Little bit of a wait time for some items but it's cooked fresh

Jocelyn Q.

Yelp
The cold weather had me craving some hotteok which I'm so happy we can finally get in Houston so I finally went to try this place on Sunday! I ordered an egg bbang without bacon and a regular hotteok as I had fond memories of these street foods in my time teaching in Korea. For not being in Korea, I'd say it makes me happy enough but of course it will never be as good as the real deal. I'm giving four stars cause it satisfied my craving and the service was quick and friendly. It was clean and spacious inside. I wish they didn't make the egg bbang so salty (probs the butter?) and the hotteok had more nuts for more texture but I am definitely going back to try some more things I miss eating on the streets in Seoul.

Ericka R.

Yelp
The taste was good but no filling inside of each. It was like a yummy pancake but the cheese in the penny bbang was at the very bottom. We were disappointed because I didn't order bread. The taiyaki had a tiny bit of red bean. We won't be returning.

emily c.

Yelp
Came here to try their original hotteok. I just went to korea a few months ago so was pretty nostalgic of this street food item. The good news is that they did make theirs a little bit different by putting in chunky peanut butter with the hot honey syrup. The bad is that it's not even as crispy on the outside as gen the mass produced Korean buffet place. Well...they just opened so we will see what the rest of the year brings. Didn't try the pennybhang but looking at it the people making it may need more experience doing it.

Thanh V.

Yelp
I saw this place on Tiktok so I came here. I bought cheese penny bbang and tornado potato. I boight togo but it just took me 5mins to drive back to home. And guess what. The potato is super cold and not cripsy at all. I feel like they took it out of the freezer, dip 10 sec in oil and gave to me. For penny bbang, it was ok. Not to good as I expected. The outside was black and soft.

Rose L.

Yelp
Cute spot and cool concept but the food isn't that great. Too bready and not enough filling.

Jessica O.

Yelp
I only tried their spicy Japchae Hotteok. It was so warm and flavorful. The dough wasn't chewy, it was just right !! Definitely going back soon to try more from their menu.

Kristin E.

Yelp
The staff was so nice as me and my friend bantered while we were deciding what to get. We tried the Orginal Hotteok, the Japchae one and each got our own Nutella & Oreo Penny. So good, if this were closer we would probably visit regularly. The cafe was cute and clean. The seats were comfortable enough to hang out for a little bit. I can't wait to go back and try a couple other items on the menu.

Sun P.

Yelp
I am so happy to have tried freshly made hotteok, a popular Korean street food, in Houston. I highly recommend it. It has a chewy texture and a perfect balance with black sugar inside. I also recommend trying the spicy sauce. The place is newly opened and clean. The service is excellent too. They also have hot taiyaki and penny Bbang which I also recommend.

brooke k.

Yelp
Owner served us taiyaki sitting in the display case and assured us it was fresh. It was cold and stale. Not worth a second chance As an owner you shouldn't do that

Susan L.

Yelp
The Taiyaki is tasty so we went back multiple nights. One thing they can improve on is faster service especially on a weekend. They may need multiple folks to make Taiyaki vs just one.

Yelp
I've been here 3 times already. I tried Taiyaki and Hotteok. My favorite flavor is sweet potato. My daughter picked Nutella and my husband picked red bean. Hotteok was good but little hard. I am really happy they open near Bellaire.

Yelp
It looks like they're still adjusting to making the food. The first time I came here I ordered the taiyaki, money bbang, and classic hotteok. The hotteok tasted full of grease and old oil, taiyaki was crispy and fresh, and money bbang was ok. The second time I came here I ordered taiyaki and they burnt it. There were bits of black stuff on the taiyaki bc they probably didn't clean the grill properly and the station for hotteok had pools of oil sitting on the grill waiting to be used. I hope they adjust to the menu soon because I was really looking forward to come here often.

Yelp
Good hotteok, waited a good minute as they were making it super fresh. It is a bit sweet, but I really like how hot and fresh it was. It is a good size to try and is nice and crisp on the outside.

Yelp
Their kimchi tornado potato is so good; it's crispy and flavorful. Finally I found a place in Bellaire that has good tayaki. It's soft inside and crispy outside and custard is sooo creamy and melted. I highly recommended. Definitely, I will come back to try their hotteok.
