Just moved to sunny South Dallas and stumbled on this hidden gem—blink and you’ll miss it, but you shouldn’t. This is the fish fry spot! The fish and shrimp are perfectly seasoned, moist, and the batter? Super crisp with great texture. Fries and hush puppies hit the mark too. Bonus points for clean oil—you can tell by the light golden color of the fish and shrimp. Highly, highly recommend!

Not bad at all. Lightly seasoned. Fresh too!

Bland.. the crisp was there but the season was not at all. This was my first time trying them and it’s a no for me. I didn’t know they weren’t black owned before I went though. I should’ve done better research. It’s other places in South Dallas that have a lower rating, but I’m sure it was just because of the customer service because the food is actually good. I’ll deal with bad customer service from “US” as long as the food is good 🤷🏾‍♀️

Went for lunch, drive through had about 3 cars ahead of me. Each car waited about 10-12 minutes for their food once they got to the window. My food was hot and freshly made when I got it but the wait is something else. I would only go again if I have a lot of time. Food was just mid, nothing was too good.

Fish tastes like mud. Was it even catfish? No seasonings at all. Lemonade so nasty and thick it could give you the diabetes. Waste of $20. Threw it away.

The food was made fresh and everything was good.

After all the years this location has been in South Dallas, I’ve gotten their gumbo. It has been a while since my last visit and it has a tremendous change in the ingredients. I was given some spoiled azz GUMBO.. I know that okra has a different texture but it does not bubble when warming up. This had to be sitting out overnight and rewarmed. The reason I didn’t take it back, because the $5 wasn’t worth the drive when you live across town..whatever happened to your old recipe, you might want to use it, and trash or refrigerate any leftovers moving forward.

Yelp
Best seafood spot in Dallas, TX. I have been a customer since 2006! I always order the #8 and it never fails.

Yelp
Very poor customer service and their food is bland. I was just driving along saw this place give it a try. Asian was very rude and the food was bland. I didn't get what I ordered. I hope this community does not patronize this facility

Yelp
The food was hot and fresh. The portions were generous. I come back again and again. You would not be disappointed.

Yelp
I have went here for years and loved the food even got enough to cater a few times but you know what this lady is so very unappreciative & rude she is always mad when you ask for you fries to be fresh as well as the fish always is she is sad , refused to serve me & I have spent my cash here for years I'm not pleased at all . I have got warm fries a few times and she was real angry at me because I asked for everything fresh!

Yelp
I wasn't really expecting the food to be all that great, usually in places like this they bring out nothing but greasy food that doesn't taste all that. But Captain Bill's seafood was actually really good, the catfish was not greasy at all and it had a good texture. Combo plate for only $7. Def worth the price, no complaints here.

Yelp
Captain Bill's is a simple little drive-through seafood place. I got the #2 for lunch today. It consisted of two pieces of fried catfish, two handfuls of crinkle-cut fries, two hush puppies, a few ketchup packets and a little container of tartar sauce. Plus a tea to drink. Captain Bill's is the type of place I imagine I'd go to if I was in the neighborhood and craving catfish. It probably wouldn't be somewhere I'd rush to go back to but I also wouldn't turn my nose up at it if it was being offered. It wasn't that the food was badly seasoned or disgusting, it was just unremarkable. However, at about $8 for a decently portioned meal, I'm really not complaining that much. The person that took and processed our order was sweet and so was the tea. The facilities are also nicely kept up with. This place gave off the atmosphere that they just wanted to serve good food & they certainly succeeded and for that they get five stars.

Yelp
Yum! Great value! If you love fried seafood, you need to go here. And it's right up the street from the State Fair of Texas.
