If you have a sweet tooth then you will definitely want to check out this fun, pirate themed candy store on Lincoln Road. Captain Candy Shop is a part of a Spanish chain of candy shops and it opened in February of last year. The first Captain Candy was opened by CEO and company co-founder Gabriel Gjergji during the pandemic in 2020. While he finished school his father stepped in and quickly expanded the company to 11 stores. After opening 30 locations across Europe, they decided to open their first U.S. store in Miami.
The store is store is decorated to look like a pirate ship with rope and wood while colorful, oversized sweets are displayed in barrels and treasure chests. Candy is sourced from 14 different countries and they offer more than 120 different kinds. Some of the varieties they offered included fruit merengue, fruit jellies, coconut haystacks, licorice, marshmallows, fudge, gummies, Swedish Bubs, lollipops, and more.
Everything looks enticing but it is over $24 a pound and over $6 a quarter pound. Since the candy is oversized it adds up fast. The sweets are pricey but this is a heavy tourist area which generally has higher prices. I wish they had scales in the store so you could get a better idea of the weight so you don't get a nasty surprise at the register.
