⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you want an unforgettable dining adventure on Coast Highway (Sunset Beach/Huntington Beach border), Captain Jack’s is the place! ⚓️🐚🍷 The food was out of this world — the 🥩 filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and the 🦞 lobster was fresh, buttery, and full of flavor. The portions are huge and the taste is unbeatable! I admit I overate because it was that good — especially the warm homemade bread 🍞. The atmosphere is pure magic ✨ — I had dinner on the patio at sunset 🌅 and it was breathtaking. Inside, the whole restaurant feels like you stepped onto a ship 🚢 — with wooden walls, hidden exits, and a cool vibe that makes it feel like a secret passageway. The service? Absolutely royal 👑💫. Not just one server, but a whole team making sure you’re treated like a king or queen. At one point I had five different people checking in — it’s next-level hospitality. And just when I thought I couldn’t eat another bite, out came the dessert platter 🍨🍫🍓 — set right in front of you on a big tray with tempting choices. I couldn’t resist the chocolate & raspberry sorbet truffle, drizzled with rich raspberry sauce… oh my goodness, it was divine. A perfect ending to the feast! I went for my 🎉 birthday dinner, and it couldn’t have been more special. Yes, it’s on the pricier side ($100+ per person 💵), but the experience is worth every penny. Between the flavors, the sunset, the ship-like atmosphere, the dessert indulgence, and the VIP treatment, this isn’t just dinner — it’s an experience you’ll never forget. 🌊🌟 ✅ Highly recommend! Everyone should experience Captain Jack’s at least once in their lifetime.

Google
This is a really cool place with an old school vibe and decore. The service was fantastic, they really take care of you. Ordered a second beer and it came so quick you would think the tap was under the table. Food was very good, I had the steak and crab legs which were both very tasty. I did take of one star for the price. I felt the cost a bit high for what you get. Nonetheless, it is definitely a neat place and I recommend giving it a try.

Google
My boyfriend and I love this place. It’s so classic. Prime rib sandwich on garlic bread, no lettuce, side of avo. (Recommended by our first waiter) It’s HEAVENLY and it’s all we get now. The sandwich is ginormous so we usually split it for dinner. Sitting anywhere in the bar area is always fun.

Very Old school vibe : dark paneling, huge leather chairs, a menu that does not cater to trendy food, but sticks with the tried and true classics. Looking for a special place to celebrate a family's birthday, new job and successful project launch, all in one night. This spot was a unanimous pick. Warm sourdough and rye slices of bread are served still warm with delicious pats of butter. I got a New York steak, grilled medium rare - it had some slight chewiness and some gristle, but overall was fine. Prime rib is a THICK CUT. Initially had planned to share with someone but got greedy. Comes with side of rice or sliced tomatoes (I find that odd) , plus mixed green salad with house-made dressing. Everyone got a surf & turf combo - one got lobster tail , one with crab legs. Seafood combo is stacked with crab legs, scallop and shrimp. Our entire party of 4 went with Bleu cheese dressing for the salads- they do not skimp on the cheese here! We opted for a dozen Blue Point RAW oysters. Also good but I wish they had kept the brine in the shell. Served with cocktail dressing, horseradish and wedge of lemon. This spot is iconic, with nautical decor interiors plus a lot of aquariums. Street parking is limited, but they have a private lot right across the street.(it was no charge & self park for us, no valet). We got the baby butter noodles (No kids' menu here). The other option was a grilled cheese sandwich. Cocktails seemed very old school as well, I got a Lemon Drop and that was delicious! I could have had three of them , lol.

This place is fantastic. The service is impeccable. The food is outstanding. No wonder this place has been around for so long. Well worth the money and time . Just check out how thick this bone in prim rib is on my plate.

Google
The crab legs here are hands down the freshest, biggest, and most delicious I’ve ever had in the U.S. The meat is tender and even has a subtle natural sweetness. As a true foodie, I can definitely tell how fresh they are. Absolutely worth trying!

Google
The food is amazing. Fresh snow crab legs are a must-order. Ribeye is huge and we have to share. The server is kind and willing to explain the quantity of each order. We enjoyed the meal very much. The only downside is the restrooms. They only had 1 stall in the ladies' room and the restroom was so tiny. We are about 5'4 and felt so BIG in the restroom. Besides that, it is recommended to try !

Came here with some friends. The service was excellent, and everyone we interacted with was attentive, friendly, and helpful. It was pretty packed on a Friday night around 8 pm, but we had a reservation, so no issues there. The menu offers a lot of choices, and I had a tough time deciding. I ordered the Ahi Steak and Shrimp Cocktail, which I enjoyed at the time, though it did leave me with a bit of a stomach ache later. Overall, it was a fun night out with friends, but a little too expensive for the quality of the food. Although my friend really enjoyed the oysters.

Yelp
Oh man... Captain Jack's deserves way more than 5-stars -- give them a whole galaxy of stars, fireworks, a parade, and maybe a trophy shaped like a lobster tail. It was THAT good. x 4! From the moment you walk in, you get smacked in the face (in the best possible way) with great vibes, incredible service, and food that makes you question every life decision that DIDN'T include coming here sooner. The staff treats you like royalty, like you just won the Super Bowl and decided to celebrate at the coolest place in town. Friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to make sure you're having an amazing time. And the food? Forget about it. Absolute perfection. Every bite feels like your taste buds hit the lottery. Fresh, flavorful, cooked perfectly -- the kind of meal that makes you talk about it for days like a proud parent bragging about their honor roll kid. Drinks? Dangerous... in the best way. Delicious, smooth, and they keep the fun going. Whether you're going for dinner, drinks, a great night out, or just to feel like you made a genius decision today -- Captain Jack's is THE spot. If I could leave a 20-star review, I would. Actually... let's call it a million-star experience. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Everything was great. This was my first time here to celebrate a family member's birthday. Inside is dimly lit and a total nautical theme. Decor looks like you are in the lower deck of a wooden ship. Menus are enormous. No reading glasses needed. I had the filet and crab legs together. Comes with a salad and rice. You have to get the blue cheese dressing. Any other dressing choice is wrong. The filet was tender, cooked right and delicious. Crab legs were so good. Easy to eat and cooked perfectly. For desert was a giant piece of Mud Pie. Very good. Service was attentive, fast and friendly. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Luke warm/cold crab legs, mediocre cocktails and slow service. I've been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and tonight was the worst. Sadly there's no excuse for the lack luster food & bad service on a Wednesday night at 6:00 as the restaurant was not busy. The clientele has also changed... Lots of young ill mannered children with parents that have no respect for other diners. Chuckie Cheese is now a rival for their clientele. With so many other choices for fine dining why would anyone want to eat at Captain Jack's? We will not be back anytime soon. Read the other reviews & avoid your waste of time and money.

Yelp
I don't know how I've missed this place. But now that I know about it I'll be coming back. We enjoined steamers, oysters and crab legs and all were top notch and served with all the special ingredients one needs to have them exactly to your personal preference. Delicious bread, smart and efficient service in an atmosphere that is perfect for the menu. Can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Always a great visit! My choice to come to Captain Jack's for my birthday! I really wanted Fresh Swordfish. This is a great place to get seafood but also has it's own unique character! The menus are giant sized sailboats! You meander thru the rooms of a ship. Very special along with the excellent staff! We started with an special bottle of wine we brought from home. Corkage fee was $20, very reasonable! Next of course came their warm bread, so hard not to over indulge especially when we know our meals with large portions are coming. Their salads are very large. I always order blue cheese dressing, it's the best in town! All three of us ordered Swordfish, two charbrpiled and one blackened, all done just right! For my birthday, our server brought out a slice of cheesecake with strawberries. It was very good. We usually get the Mudd Pie, excellent! Service was excellent. The staff all works together as a team! We never feel rushed and aways feel pampered. All the years and still.grrat food and service!

Yelp
First time at this local eatery , cool spot the locals love it. Theres live music but parking was tight Lol For food we of course got the King Krab legs , Crazy Big! The seafood combo comes with shrimp scampi, scallops and crab legs. We also got the linguine pasta and 12oz filet. My partner didn't really like the filet he said it was nothing special. Grabbed drinks and enjoyed the marina for a bit.

Yelp
Captain Jack's is our go to for birthdays and anniversaries. We love the decor, and location. My favorite is the king crab.. it's market priced so be prepared to pay for quality, and it's a nice large portion. My just usually gets the prime rib/crab which are excellent as well. Awesome variety of cocktails, the bread is so good it's hard to stop, and the blue cheese salad dressing is not to be missed.. as always the service is impeccable, and you want for nothing.

Yelp
I love this place so much! Seafood it so fresh and the steak is literally bombdotcom. I live the service the people were so nice there! The ambience of this place is like your on a ship but it's all dimmed and pretty!

Yelp
Food was and is always amazing. Our servers Christy and Riley were very attentive. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
As soon as I entered this establishment, I was transported to what in my opinion would have been that Regal Beagle from the show Tree's Company Love the place and decoration. Everything was great. Food is fantastic big huge portions, but my only but is that the menu doesn't seem to have pricing on it. They show you a big tablet made out of wood with the menu, that you pass around your table and don't seem to remember it having numbers next to the entrées . Anyways, we ended up paying $200 per person!!!!! Drinks are good not super strong but they were OK . dessert also I have to say just OK except for the Oreo ice cream cake that was really good but the carrot cake or the cheesecake are just so so . Service is amazing. Great staff I will go again as soon as I can save some money to pay $200 plate of food.

Yelp
If half stars were available I would give this place 4.5 stars! This place probably has the best King Crab Legs in all of OC. My wife and I got the Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer. The shrimp was nice and juicy but the cocktail sauce was amazing. Like the best cocktail sauce I've ever had. So good my wife said she would buy a bottle if they were selling it. There's the perfect blend of tangy and sweetness to it. As for the entrees. We got the house bread and salad early on (it was good). Here's why I couldn't give it 5 stars. After getting our app, we waited almost an hour until we got our entrees. I was fighting the urge to keep picking at the bread lol. For our entrees my wife got the seafood platter and I got the NY strip with crab legs. The steak was quite good but the crab legs were the best. The shell was already pre cracked. Chunks of crab meat were so flavorful we didn't even need the butter but I love butter. The rice it came with was a bit funky. It was like soy sauce was mixed in. I'm guessing it was Worcestershire sauce. I think something like Rice Pilaf would have worked better. My wife and I both said we plan to come back. But just getting a full plate of crab legs and the shrimp cocktail. Service was very good.

Yelp
Dining at Captain Jack's always leaves me happily stuffed; the portions are massive and generous. I love ordering the off-menu surf & turf with prime rib and king crab legs alongside a baked potato; it's rich, indulgent comfort food that never disappoints. The nautical-themed ambiance feels like dining aboard an older, cozy ship. It's beautifully nostalgic and full of character. On the flip side, it's definitely a splurge, and pricing is strict "market rate" so expect to pay premium for that giant crab and cocktails or extras add up quickly. For the quality and the vibe? It's absolutely worth every bite.

Yelp
Street parking and complimentary Valet parking available. Reservations recommended but not required. Ok for small groups. Nice bar area. I only order Lobster so can't speak on the others items but they all look great Prices are fare. Staff is wonderful.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious, however the crab legs, king crab legs specifically prices have gotten out of hand. For two people it came to $300. We've eaten at your restaurant five times in 2025 so far. Do something about those runaway prices. We always have the prime rib and king crab legs. Then you always get us on the way out the door with the chocolate cake. That's so wrong.

Yelp
Well had not been to Captain Jack's in years We thought we would go for our 51st Anniversary & our Gradaughters 20th birthday. We had reservations for 6pm on Wed. Night. The service was fine but our food was very disappointing. For a $500 dollar dinner. We had the Albacore & cheese appetizer you should never order. The halibut was dry, the king crab legs were over salty & very dry. $150 dollar market price we expected better. The lamb was a bit gamey The filet Mignon was the only meal that was good. We will not be back. Very disappointed

Yelp
Been going here for years. The food has always been good, along with the service. It's a bit noisy but tolerable. At least you don't hear the idiots who always feel the need to FaceTime while blasting the volume.

Yelp
After returning here at least 5 times a year each time with a large group of ladies, and alway being greeted by the Manager Ronnie, and his "sour puss" keeping us waiting at least 15-20 minutes for our table with a reservation. Tonight the food was not that terrific, my party is always between10-14, and we were all very disappointed. All of us run up huge bills, we tip well, and order from the bar even on their no corkage night Thursday. But tonight we had a misunderstanding with our waiter Anthony. He charged someone who ordered a dinner of Chilean Sea Bass an addional $8 for a baked potato. When Anthony asked if she preferred rice or a baked potato, we all heard him, and he never mentioned there would be an $8 additional charge, until it was seen on the bill, along with the $3 charge for a Cajun sauce she thought came with the meal. When we called Anthony over and she told him this was definitely a misunderstanding, he apologized and said there is nothing I can do. We asked him to check with the Manager and see if he would remove the $8 charge, since we come in all the time, and this lady had been coming for the last 40 years with her family even. Anthony came back and said he asked the Manager, Ronnie about removing the charge and he said NO. We were all shocked! I stood up to find Ronnie, who has seen me there many times, since we've been regulars for the last 3 years. I found Ronnie, standing and watching TV in the bar. When I approached him, to explain the $8 charge and the misunderstanding. He rudely said, "I remember something like this happened the last time your party was here." I said, that is not true I don't know what you are talking about? I went on to discuss what happened, but he wouldn't hear of it, and said it's on the menu and he adamantly refused to remove the $8 charge. Unfortunately when Anthony offered the baked potato, no one was holding the menu to know about this additonal charge and it honestly did sound like he was offering an option, we all heard him. For the HUGE bills my group runs up at Captain Jack's consistently it's now all out the window thanks to the poor business sense of their Manager, Ronnie and his miserable disposition!! It's so amazing how a restaurant Manager like Ronnie can ruin a dining experience for everyone. We will not be returning here again that is for sure!!!

Yelp
The food here is amazingly delicious! I have been here several times and every time the food and service is fantastic. We have sat on the side by the water which is super nice and very relaxing. I usually get the crab legs which is what they are known for. Let me tell you they are scrumptious! SO GOOD! I honestly have to say the crab legs taste better than the lobster in my opinion. This is definitely a must visit restaurant! The only reason for the 4 star is because I had called in advance for a reservation and they sat us in a very small table right in the pathway of the servers which really was not cool. We did ask to be moved and they did move us to a much nicer table!
google avatar

Simon K.

Yelp
The off menu surf and turf with Prime Rib steak and King Crab is amazing. The prime rib cooked medium is truly of the upmost quality, so tender and flavorful. The king crab is incredibly fresh. It comes with a garden salad and your choice of homemade dressing. You can even get Caesar dressing with it, that is packed with an abundance of parmesan and a nice mild flavor of anchovies. You can upcharge to substitute a baked potato for the rice. They also bring you a side of creamy horseradish that goes great with everything from the steak to the crab to even the potatoes! We were able to share all of that between the 2 of us. But my wife wished for more crab and less steak. With that said, next time my wife would just like a half order of King Crab (which they refer to as a 10oz portion) for herself, or maybe even a full pound, and her own baked potato, plus a salad with ranch.

Yelp
I'm really confused why people like this place. We went here on a Saturday night for my dad's birthday. We had a 7 pm reservation for four. We were the first couple to arrive and check in at 6:50 pm. They won't seat us until everyone arrives and offered us to wait in the bar area. After about 10 minutes the bar area started to get really stuffy and smelled like a gym. The rest of our party arrived 10 minutes late. When they checked in, the hostess looked at her watch. We know, they were late but I'm sure they encounter this all the time with the parking situation. We waited another 25 minutes before we were brought to a table. The restaurant is small, choppy, hot and stuffy. The food was eh. The shrimp cocktail was average and the cocktail sauce had a weird taste. The cheese in the crab quesadilla overpowers the crab. The crab legs were dry as hell. I asked for the dressing on the side of the baked potato and it came on the potato. The salad was probably poured out of a plastic bag from Costco. The filet had no seasoning and was also as dry as the crab legs. The servers were attentive and nice. Our dinner for four cost over $500. Come up to LA and have some real fresh seafood in a classy restaurant that doesn't look and smell like Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Sunday on my way home to San Diego and was blown away by the service and food. From the valet outside to the moment we walked in we were greeted kindly and ordered a drink while waiting for our table. The waiter answered all our questions and brought us warm bread right away. I ordered sirloin and potato while my husband ordered seafood scampi. Both were delicious. We were so stuffed we ordered mousse cake to go and ate the next day with our leftovers. I ordered a classic margarita which was a little too sugary for me but it wont effect my 5/5 review, next time ill try an appletini instead. I would definitely come back to this restaurant next time im passing through. So much food but worth the price and wait.

Yelp
Been coming here for years, food is always good. We both ordered the Prime rib and Alaskan red crab entrees, both were fantastic. Our server stated the prime rib would be 12 oz. But it showed about 16oz. Fantastic service and food, highly recommend, but dinner for two will run over$300.00 without drinks.

Yelp
Just got to enjoy another Christmas Eve dinner with familythere are so many wonderful staff from Ronnie the manager, Brad and Joe bartenders and everyone. Thank you so much for all you do for us and other to make our evening a memorable night

Victoria S.

Yelp
This was one of the most disappointing and unacceptable dining experiences I've ever had - especially for $500. From the very beginning, the service set the wrong tone. Our waitress never introduced herself or made us feel welcome. She came to our table and immediately launched into a rushed and dismissive spiel of the most popular dishes. It felt rude and unwelcoming-- not the kind of welcome you'd expect at a restaurant where you're about to spend hundreds of dollars. Things only went downhill from there. I ordered crab legs, and when I cracked one open, the meat inside was completely black (see attached photo). Crab meat should be white and fresh -- not dark, spoiled-looking, and inedible. We called over the first person we saw, who happened to be the busser, and he even looked shocked when he saw it. He went to get the waitress (not our waitress who was originally serving us) and she was rude and dismissive as well, she stated "I heard there is a problem with the crab" we showed her, which she also looked shocked, and she said "ill get you a replacement." Moments later ANOTHER server brought over the replacement crab leg which we kindly asked to now box up. While waiting for them to box it up and for the server to bring the check, there was not one person, out of the 3 servers and bussers, who came to apologize, explain how something like that could make it to a guest's plate, or any effort to make it right. No discount, no gesture of goodwill, not even an acknowledgement of how unacceptable it was. Not even a manager came to acknowledge the situation. When you're paying $500 for a meal, the absolute minimum expectation is that the food is fresh, safe, and properly prepared. On top of that, the service should reflect professionalism and care. Instead, we were served spoiled crab meat, brushed off without an apology, and left with the feeling that the staff either didn't care or didn't think it mattered. At this price point, there is simply no excuse for serving bad food and treating guests with indifference. This restaurant failed on both quality and service, and it's not an experience I would ever recommend or repeat. It is such a shame because this use to be one of our favorite go to date nights - not anymore. Id rather go elsewhere than risk the potential to end up in the ER due to necrotized spoiled crab flesh. We ended up throwing away all our crab legs after researching this issue as they could be potentially contaminated and this could lead to serious shellfish food poisoning that can cause fatal dehydration. Hopefully all other legs are not contaminated, and this doesn't happen to other customers. Too bad there is no place to email the manager to let them know how harmful this can be so they can make it right rather than brushing it off as no big deal and serving this to other patrons. I guess I have no choice but to contact the health department. Glad we took a picture...$500 down the drain.

Yelp
Love Captain Jack's. Great attentive servers, great food, we always order the King Crab legs served with a salad and their in house made blue cheese salad dressing. Everything else is Ala carte. Great ambiance
google avatar

Wendy W.

Yelp
You need to come here and try their prime rib. One of the absolute best places, it's casual inside, cozy, make reservations, don't be fooled by the exterior. They kept it all original but they focus on the food, it could be a special occasion dinner, or any occasion really. Their entire menu serves deliciousness, but prime rib is their forte.
google avatar

Lou C.

Yelp
First time to Captain Jack's and it did not disappoint. The prime rib is the best I've had. The king crab was delicious as well. It seems like they have a team of servers that do certain things while they wait on you. One server bring you there menu and talk to you about it. Then another server brings out bread and drinks. Then another server comes and takes your order, which was the one who we saw the most. The place had a 70's decor maybe be 80's.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm 35. I used to come here 20+ years ago for special occasions with my family. My dad and I thought it would be sweet to go back after so long. It was a decent meal. I just can't get over the price point for the crab legs. And we didn't think to ask before hand. Expect to pay $140/pound. Baked potatoes are always good. Ribeye was good but nothing mind blowing or worth the price in my opinion even though you're getting a big slab of meat. Love the artichoke. The crab legs were very enjoyable. But I probably won't be back. I still havent recovered from receiving the check after our dinner

Judy F.

Yelp
Love the place. Going tonight I expect it to be very good I love the salad and all the fish is fresh of course The crab legs are spectacular

Yelp
Went here for a work dinner the service was good it was cold that day and we were seated outside but they had a heater they were kind enough to adjust for us. The service was pretty good although they forgot some of our order for an appetizer but we just ended up telling them to take it off the order. The food is pretty good the prime rib is super soft and the potato that I ordered with it was huge. The kind crab was okay. I like their Shirley temple a lot it was huge and I drank it all surprisingly. The carrot cake was super sweet but was good to take home and eat with some milk.

Yelp
What better way to celebrate a newly married couple than with towering King Crab legs and expertly crafted cocktails? Captain Jack's delivers on both, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion, or just a Wednesday night when you're feeling fancy but still want to wear flip-flops. We kicked things off with two artichokes for the table, but let's be real... I wanted one for myself and had no intention of sharing. Zero regrets. The portions here are generous, so while the prices lean toward the celebration tier, you absolutely get your money's worth. The crab? Pre-cracked. No need to battle with your meal--just dip, savor, and enjoy. One friend, who doesn't do seafood, opted for the prime rib. Her verdict? "Tender but lacking flavor." My repeated advice? Get the end cut. Did she listen? Of course not, she never does. Will I keep trying? Absolutely. Would I go back? Without hesitation. And next time, I'm making sure she gets the end cut.

Yelp
An Orange County gem that has been around a long time. Still has the same old school vibe with delicious food and terrific service. The crab legs are to die for and the oysters were awesome. My son ordered the prime rib quesadilla as an appetizer and it was huge! Could have easily been a meal. There's valet parking as parking does look to be an issue. Bathrooms in the place are super small and the place is a little outdated, but I think it adds to the charm. It is expensive, so not a budget friendly experience for sure.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to have a good meal. It was my Birthday celebration. We hadn't been there since we'd moved away. The food was fantastic, a bit pricer than it was 10+ years ago. (But then everything is pricy these days). Service was great. Décor was perfect. We look forward to eating there in the future.

Yelp
I had high hopes about this place prior to coming here because i've heard a-lot of good things from HB locals. The restaurant itself is very charming, as it feels like you stepped into a wooden ship with fun decor and stained glass windows. There are fish tanks everywhere and views of the water- which i appreciated. Captain Jack's was pretty packed so I already anticipated a slightly longer wait time. The servers were all nice, and we put our order in at around 8:45, and we ordered potato skins, 12 oz prime rib medium rare, two caesar salads, and 18 oz of king crab. The fresh bread came out in a timely manner, and the sourdough was so fluffy and warm. 15-20 minutes later, the loaded potato skins came out piping hot and that was tasty as well. Our two entrees took an awfully long time, but I am not one to complain until it hits the 50 minute mark. As someone who also works in the service industry i totally understand for the most part, but we didn't end up getting our food until 10 pm. So roughly, it was an hour long wait for our food and all the tables around us had already received all their food, paid, and left the premises at this point. We finally spoke up at 9:50 pm and the food came out shortly after. The prime rib was lukewarm and was served with ranch for some reason, but at least the crab legs were hot. The salad was subpar, as the caesar dressing was not the caesar that we were used to seeing at most establishments. We asked for the prime rib to be medium rare, but from the looks of it, it seemed pretty rare to me. It didnt have much seasoning on it either, but I guess that a plus so at-least it wont go to waste; I can bring it home and feed it to my cats. It was extremely chewy, and some pieces were so bad that we couldn't even swallow it. We even had to spit a piece out and cover with rice because we felt bad. We truly did not want to be Karens about it, especially because the staff were all very sweet people and it was basically closing time. I would only really only come back to try more seafood to give it a second shot, but sadly I was pretty disappointed in most of the food we ordered at such a well renowned/historical spot. I really truly wanted to like this adorably themed place.

Yelp
Captain Jack's is a staple in our family. It holds so many great memories for my family and me. This review isn't just for one experience. For me, it's all about the crab legs. You won't find any better in the U.S. They are huge!! I occasionally do the combo with prime rib and crab legs. We always start with escargot, it's our fave. The salad dressings are house made and we usually all get the blue cheese, so thick and delightful. The sides aren't anything too special, but who cares, we aren't there for them anyway. Captain Jacks is dark and dimly light in the entrance, but the dining areas are a bit brighter. It's situated on the harbor, so you can watch the Duffy boats go by. It has an older dive bar vibe, but also upscale. It's perfect and so cozy during the holidays. Service is what really sets CJ's apart. They work as a team and they are on top of it. Waters always full, cocktails present, table cleaned after each coarse. Extra plates for crab legs are provided and warm water with lemon to clean your hands. We love Captain Jack's and hope it will be around for many more years.

Yelp
Captain jacks has been open for like 60 years and stepping in to their restaurant is like being transported into an old nautical themed seaside restaurant bar with class. This place has major character but the real star of course is the Alaskan King Crab. Anytime anyone ever says they want to eat some good crab there's is only one place I recommend. They also have plenty of fresh fish and steak options which you can pair with a full or half order of Crab Legs. The staff is friendly and their team like approach is great and the restaurant is always clean and cozy.

Yelp
Good food, great service, and nice view in the patio area. We celebrated a birthday dinner and started with a cosmo cocktail, salad, and split portion of prime rib, shrimp, and rice pilaf. Everything was delicious and definitely worth a visit. Reservations definitely required!

Yelp
Wait staff was friendly, cam by often to check on water or any other needs.

Yelp
Everything here is 5 star! The food, the service, the location and the ambiance. This place has not changed much over the years.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that there is no place that either I or anybody that I know has been to that has better crab legs and prime rib then yours truly, Captain Jack's! My family and I have been coming here for years and will continue to come here for decades to come. Their staff is exceptional. Everyone is so caring and on top of their game, they're well-trained, kind and attentive. The one thing that cut off a star was during our latest experience, there was a hostess who wasn't so pleasant. Aside from that, this place is a gemstone that will outlive us ALL! Tip: get both the blu cheese AND caesar salad dressing on the side of ur dinner salad.

Yelp
If I could give Captain Jack's 1 million stars, I WOULD! My boyfriend and I came here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and we absolutely had the greatest time ever! We ordered: - Oysters on the Half Shell - Prime Rib - Red King Crab Legs - Espresso Martini - Old Fashioned My boyfriend was smiling ear to ear when our food came out. The prime rib was THICK & JUICY! And the King Crab Legs were so flavorful! We would order the same exact things all over again. The service was wonderful and our servers were so kind and made our evening so special. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We've been coming here for years and unfortunately the service was terrible. We can't remember her name.. no refills. Also, due to market pricing, you never know, right? Well, for years, our king crab plate was $110. Last visit, 3 weeks ago, our crab plate was $140 each! Yikes. Huge price increase since we were there a few months ago. It had something to do with Gulf vs. Alaskan purchase issues? I'm not sure a menu full of market price looks that great anymore at a 30% increase. The ribeye was over cooked to well rather than medium. BOOO captain jacks. Very friendly hostess and like I said, usually top-notch service and food. Old review: Fantastic as always. We've been going to Captain Jacks for 4 years, I believe. Always a great place to bring visitors. Crab legs & scallops & escargot is usually our go-to. The prime rib is terrific, along with the steamed clams. If you're a blue cheese fan, the salad is excellent! Thanks, Captain Jacks, for exceptional service (this time by server Jack!) and food quality. We look forward to it again and again!

Yelp
We haven't been here for awhile due to our busy schedule. But we just had to go here. We always get the surf and turf and it was so amazing, so sweet, paired nicely with the rib eye medium rare. It was delicious. Loveeee the free bread they give us, we love the pumpkin one. And then they give unlimited salad and rice with your meal. So we actuallly ordered that to go. Buttt the only downside is we always get disappointed with their drinks. either it's water down, or it's flat when it comes to the beer. We would still come back, but maybe just stay away from drinks. We would go back for the food though

Yelp
Took forever for our entrees to come out on this Saturday night (over an hour) but that helped me work up an appetite for my incredible surf and turf combo! $94, and money well spent. Took half my delicious prime rib home. It's a fun and lively atmosphere and the bar was packed when we left at 7:45pm. Very noisy in the main dining room that we were seated in. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was a kid, now I came here for Father's day dinner with my wife and baby and it was fantastic. Still an amazing restaurant. The atmosphere was great, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Tim was also very great!! Now for the food, the salad was super tasty, the caesar dressing was the best! We ordered the prime ribs and the meat was cooked to perfection. Very juicy and full of flavor! Will definitely come back here again. If I could give a higher rating then I definitely would.

Yelp
This place takes you back to the days when restaurants had leather booths, live music and fish tanks everywhere. It's expensive, but portions are massive and the food is delicious, so it's worth it when you also factor in entertainment and quality service.

Yelp
disappointing to say the LEAST!! whoever was running this place about 9-10 months ago please come back. the food quality was awful. noticeably different . the complimentary bread was typically the best something i looked forward to enjoying tell me why they just served microwaved soggy bread when i mentioned to the waitress if i could please get it toasted .. please see pic because the waitress basically told me to chew on rocks by bringing back burnt toast. everything else was mid. no kids menu either or kid friendly options besides butter pasta . also if you need to use the bathroom must be under a since 6 to use otherwise you will get lodged in the tiny stall
