I visited Captain’s Cove Seaport recently and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be this beautiful and relaxing. It’s not just a marina—it’s a full experience. The place has a warm, small-town coastal vibe with an amazing view of the boats docked along the harbor, people enjoying fresh seafood, and live music playing softly in the background. Walking along the wooden boardwalk feels like stepping into a postcard. The area is clean, well-maintained, and has that calming scent of the sea. It’s family-friendly, yet also perfect for a chill solo trip or even a romantic evening stroll. There are little souvenir shops, casual restaurants, and spots where you can just sit, breathe, and watch the boats. I went around sunset and the lighting over the water was just magical. I highly recommend timing your visit during the golden hour—it completely transforms the place. If you’re into photography, you’ll love it here. The only thing I found slightly disappointing was the price—some of the food and drinks felt a bit overpriced for what you get. But overall, the atmosphere and experience made up for it. What stood out most to me was how peaceful and safe the place felt, even with other visitors around. It’s the kind of hidden gem that makes you want to come back again. Don’t skip it if you’re anywhere near Fairfield

It’s a casual eatery with great food and reasonable Menu that offers plenty from burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and Seafood including shellfish. Atmosphere is great with scenic views of Oceanfront. It’s a nice place for the family to spend a day outside with plenty of seating. Highly recommend.

Quick visit on way home. Nice views. Order your food, receive a number and pick up your food. Typical fast food - seafood and land food as well.

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The food did not meet expectations—bland flavors, careless presentation, and dishes that arrived cold to the table. To make matters worse, the service was unfriendly and very slow, making the visit uncomfortable from start to finish. I understand every place can have a bad day, but in this case, everything fell short—food, service, and atmosphere. I cannot recommend it, and I believe there is a lot of work to be done to improve in all areas. Besides the food not meeting expectations, the service left a lot to be desired. In particular, the lady with glasses who attended our table was unfriendly and inattentive, which made the visit even more uncomfortable.

Food was delicious! I got the fish sandwich and fish tacos! Loved eating out by the water. Staff were friendly. There is a discount if you pay in cash and they have a senior menu.

Ended up here for a lovely Wednesday afternoon at the end of the summer. There are plenty of picnic tables and benches to sit at. Most have umbrellas to protect from the sun as well as the seagulls. There are lots of birds that get all up in your business so be prepared for that. I grew up in CT but have moved away so scoring a good basket of Fried Clam strips was number 1 on my things to do list and I wasn’t disappointed! The strips were plentiful and the fries were tasty. They didn’t have Heinz ketchup but the fries were so yummy I didn’t need ketchup anyways. The tarter sauce was fresh and just perfect. It’s not cheap but the food and atmosphere are definitely worth the price of admission!

Yelp
5 stars for the beautiful view and outdoor seating. Good vibes. 3 for food. My lobster roll was 42 dollars and just okay. I know places close by with better lobster rolls for less $.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at Captain's Cove last weekend before catching Wallows at the Hartford Health Care Amphitheater. My roommate just found this place on Google, and our first expectations were blown out of the (cove) water! We had the clam strips, chowder fries (no bacon) and potato skins (the absolute best I've ever had). The weak point of our meal was the long naked (hotdog) -- I didn't even finish it. But we hung out on the bar deck in the sunshine and immensely enjoyed the Rum Runners' set. I bought merch on the way out. 10/10

Yelp
"Everybody, listen to me And return me my ship I'm your captain, I'm your captain" (Grand Funk Railroad) We had zero issues with our lunch at Captain's Cove. Everything was fine- from the service to the food, to the wonderful view and ambience from the picnic tables and waterfront patio where we ate. Hats off to the engaging woman that took our order. I'd love to give her a shout out by name, but our receipt only identified her as "Server 2 Counter 2". She was helpful, very funny, and did us a solid by identifying the day's Senior lunch specials. We ordered lunch at the counter and went with two of the $9.99 Senior Specials, a Fish Fry with fried fish filet, fries, slaw, tartar sauce and a lemon slice. I went with a $21.99 Calamari Platter with a big portion of calamari, fries, slaw, marinara sauce and lemon slices. My calamari was very good - hot and tender and not rubbery or chewy at all. The marinara sauce was a nice touch to the platter. All of us were very impressed with the quality of the fries, they were dusted with something on the outsides which made them extra crunchy. Really, they were excellent. After lunch, we took a stroll down the boardwalk and checked out the small shops along the waterfront. Most of them were closed, but in season they would be a cool way to spend some time and pick up a few doo dads. All in all, we were mega impressed with the Captain's Cove complex.

Yelp
I tried captains cove from word of mouth and it was alright. I mean apparently it might of been better few years ago from what I was told but I wouldn't really know being it was my first time. I got a huge plate of fried seafood. And it was pretty good. I mean not the best in my opinion but not bad either. I tried some shrimp from my girlsfriends sister but it tasted more frozen. I Didnt really like it much. The restaurant has nice decor really does look like it has alot of potential. I would come back and try something else and see if anything here tickles my fancy. Perhaps some lobsters.

Yelp
This place used to be such a vibe.. Haven't came here since before Covid and I'd have to say it was pretty dead for a Saturday night, especially the last Saturday of the summer on Labor Day weekend. I ordered a platter with chicken tenders, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, and fries. Unfortunately they didn't even have ketchup, they ran out. This is the first time in my life I've been to an establishment that ran out of ketchup. They even ran out of regular lemonade, so I got the raspberry one instead. There was some people in my party who took some food to go.. they gave them paper with a small paper bag. They don't even have to-go containers. They had to wrap their food up like a present and shove it in a paper bag. The cheap brown bags you get at the corner store. The chicken tenders tasted like a chicken patty, it did not taste like real chicken. It must've had some fillers grounded in. The mozzarella sticks tasted like they were frozen not fresh. The fries were breaded and was the only thing I enjoyed, wish I could dip a few in ketchup, but this place does not have any. I tried my mans onion rings and it was nice and crispy. Someone I was with ordered the fish of the day and was given a small tilapia, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the type harvested to clean sewage. I remember when they used to have live music here. I remember when there wasn't a cover charge just to walk upstairs to the bar. Why would I want to pay $20 just to buy a drink and have to get frisked, when there isn't even live music, not even a live DJ, and you can see from the ground level that the balcony is absolutely not poppin. I feel bad for the beautiful little shops down the boardwalk, because I'm pretty sure this restaurant attracts their business. Compared to the last time I was here several years ago, this was such a disappointment.. This makes me sad. I have no interest in ever coming back ever!

Yelp
I wanted to come for the last Saturday(8/31) of the year! It closes until next Memorial Day! Idk what hppn. to Captain's Cove. It is not what it used to be. I haven't been here since Covid(I don't even like mentioning the C word smh). Captain's Cove consists of a seaport, boardwalk, restaurant,& bar. It has a couple of vendors on the boardwalk as well. I came w/ my sis,her bf, & mines! We wanted to order our food downstairs @ the restaurant & grab it to go upstairs to the bar(which we have done numerous times). We got there around 8ish in the night. We ordered our food & received a number that would be called. I noticed there was a cover charge of $20 to go upstairs to the bar. It used to be free. On top of that there was always live salsa bands. Idk if it was b/c it was in the night (the cover charge). We decided to just eat. It wasn't worth the $20(especially w/ no live band). We sat inside(there is an option to eat outside as well). My bf wanted fish so he ordered the fish of the day(which was tilapia). He isn't too fond of it but wanted fish. It came w/ a baked potato & corn on the cob. I ordered the butterfly shrimp w/ French fries. It came w/ Cole slaw. Our food took a bit (it was quite busy)so we all conversed. The food came out (it took awhile)& I was beyond disappointed. Shrimp looked like Chinese food shrimp. I can tell it was frozen shrimp. Gross! Crazy the shrimp @ the Chinese restaurant taste better.Fries,Cole slaw was good. My bf's potato tasted like it's been sitting there for a while & it was small. The fish was so thin I couldn't believe it & just 1 tiny piece. It tasted bland & it was deep-fried/breaded.The only thing that was a descent size was the corn on the cob(they gave him a whole one). It had no flavor though. I tried some of my sister's food. She ordered a sampler platter. It had mozzarella sticks, chicken wings/tenders,fries,etc. Everything tasted like it was frozen products deep-fried. I also tried her bf's seafood platter. It had fried clam strips, fish, calamari, etc. Meh,It was ok. Clam strips had nothing but bread crumbs. I asked one of the employees for a to go box. I had most of my food still left. I couldn't even eat it. That's how bad it was.She handed me a tiny brown paper bag & paper(it looked like paper you wrap shoes w/ or gifts). I looked at her like what is this. I had no choice but to wrap my food w/ gift wrapping paper & stuff it into the tiny brown paper bag. Overall, food is horrible (nothing but frozen not fresh food) & there is a cover charge just for the bar! I didn't feel the good vibes neither.Captain's Cove has to have new owners b/c this was never like this! This is a Bridgeport landmark & I feel like it's ruined. I will definitely not be back which is such a shame!

Yelp
This spot is nice! Dining inside or outside by the water. Cute little shops to shop at. My review is for the food only. I ordered the fish and chips. It was cooked well but no flavor at all, and I didn't care for the fries. The cole slaw is really good. The prices are pretty high. Paid 65$ for 3 meals, which I do not mind if it's worth it. The service was great!

Yelp
I had a great time at this place. I really enjoy the live music and the ambiance. There's usually a good crowd, and at night they have Latin music, while during the day they play all different types of music. The food is good, although I wish they had more non-fried options. However, I really loved the fried clam strips - they were so good! Service was good basically you order and wait for your number to be called. The prices are what you would expect for the Seaport area.

Yelp
What a nice place that I never knew about! Rarely have gone to Bridgeport but my brother said he loves this place so I gave it a try. I had 2 pieces of fried fish. Crispy and tasty! My husband had a lobster roll with fries and coleslaw which he raved about (it was $38 so it needed to be good). Our son had a burger which he said was good. You order at the counter and they call your number when ready. Plenty of seating in the indoor area. Outside there's a bunch of covered seating and tables with umbrellas. Right on the water. Nice view with the boats. Festive atmosphere. Few shops so you can walk off your meal. Maybe a mile off the exit. Lots of parking. Will be back!

Yelp
Lobster roll was delicious. Fried calm strips were really good as well. Lots of menu options Atmosphere is nice. Outside seating. They ran out of hot lobster rolls despite it being earlier in the day.

Yelp
Like most everything nowadays, Captain's Cove Seaport in Bridgeport has changed quite a bit. The crowds were much thinner today and there was no live music. However, we were greeted by three exquisite egrets. Two were in-flight, and one was playing hop scotch on the variety of spectacular boats on the docks. There are a variety of cute little shops, an ice cream store and one good restaurant with multiple floors. People were friendly, well behaved and handling the high temperatures and the intense sun pretty well. Everything was clean, merchandised and organized. There was plenty of parking available and it was nice to visit a spot I used to go to by boat when I was a teenager.

Yelp
I happened to visit on a Wednesday, when they run a popular fish fry special for $6.99. The special includes one piece of fried fish, French fries and a small side of cole slaw. It was a perfectly sized portion for me, and it was cooked perfectly. Order at the counter, they'll call your number when your lunch is ready. I was able to sit outside at a table under an umbrella and enjoy the beautiful summer afternoon near the water. After lunch I took a walk around the area and found a cute row of little shops along the dock. They had a variety of art, clothing, crafts and gift items for sale. I wished that more of the shops had actually been open, but I suppose that they would be had I visited on the weekend. All in all, Captains Cove was a nice place to spend the afternoon.

Yelp
Food is good. Your typical New England seafood menu, you order at the stand and then wait for your number to be called. Their fried platters are always good. Clam chowder is delicious. Bunch of space to sit and there are waiters who come around and ask if you'd like an alcoholic beverage. There's also an upstairs with a bar, dance floor, food service, and seating but you need an ID to enter.

Yelp
Great lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese at this seaside spot overlooking a marina. Clearly geared to the drinking/party scene, this place isn't where you'd go for white linen dining. That said, for a place where the beer is cold, and the seats are picnic tables and plastic tables and chairs, the food is darn tasty. The lobster roll features a BIG portion of lobster. It's served cold, drenched in butter, on a roll. Coleslaw on the side (nothing special). Fries hot and crunchy. It's a simple dish, and executed well here. Lobster grilled cheese is made with Texas toast, havarti & cheddar cheese, and piled high with lobster meat then grilled to gooey perfection. More fries with this one, plus a pickle. All this lobster ain't cheap - it was $63 for those 2 sandwiches. But - the beer is cold, the food is good, the scenery is beautiful. Worth a stop.

Yelp
Solid fish and chips ! I would pass on the lobster roll ( not worth the price). Nice view and plenty of seating. Come during sunset the ambience is nice!

Yelp
We were here last Thursday for lunch. It would be hard to find a better view! Great fish and chips and scallops. Good drinks, although we had to carry them from upstairs, my SIL has a boot on her ankle. They are closing for the winter but we will be back when they open. So relaxing. They have music on the weekends. Looking forward to it.

Yelp
The food here is decent if you like fried seafood, which I do. However, while I was there for lunch at 12pm Friday July 1st there was 2 women behind the counter, one elderly plump women from the kitchen, and a young lady from the counter were making fun of a customer who was special needs. I overheard their entire conversation and proceeded to watch them point, laugh and stare at this poor man. I was absolutely disgusted by their behavior. If I hadn't already paid for my food when I witnessed this I would have left and never gone back. You could blame ignorance in the case of the high school aged young women, but the older women encouraging this behavior in 2022 is atrocious. I will not be recommending this spot to anyone I know, in fact I would go out of my way to avoid it.

Yelp
We went over Memorial weekend to catch up with some out of town friends. The weather was beautiful and the cove was packed! But I have to say the drink service to the picnic tables was quick and the servers were friendly. We did have to wait about 45 minutes in line for food, but the time went by fast with the music playing. And I have to say the fish and chips were really good!
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Seasonal spot which depends on weather cooperating. Seasonal staff, young cooks and waitstaff getting their first experiences in the service industry. It is what it is. I most enjoyed my fish and chips and sitting outside with views of water and boats. People watching can be most entertaining as well. I think a great place for all to grab a drink or bite in the summertime. Stick with the basics and enjoy. Then take a stroll by the shops and enjoy the view.

Yelp
The once star if for the beautiful view of the marina ... Decided to try this place once we were in town ... beautiful views and lots of space . We went to the upstairs bar where the bar is shaped like a boat , sounds interesting right ??! Well that's about it . We sat at the bar and ordered drinks , at that point they handed us a food menu so after a few minutes we tell the girl at the bar we needed to order some food . She than tells us we can't have food upstairs , we have to go downstairs to get food and come back up , I than asked her IF we could just go and order drink downstairs and she said no because drinks weren't served down stairs , she said well you can just go down stairs get your own GM food and come back up here is that simple ../ ( she said that with an attitude ) like people want to go to a bar but have to go elsewhere to get the food .. or go for the food and be going up and down the stairs to grab drinks .. seriously WHO DOES THAT ??! So I asked her why she handed us a food menu if food is not served upstairs ??! Her response was because there are drinks on the other side . Well than you should have told us that when you handed us the menu . The attitude was simply unheard of . Like it is our job to go up and down stairs grabbing things . RUDE !! JUST RUDE all the way .. GO ELSEWHERE..

Milad H.

Yelp
The vibe is awesome, and everything revolves around the harbor and the sea. However, we paid around $80 for just two lobster rolls with nothing else! Isn't that a bit much? If not, go for it. We didn't try the ice cream because they only accept cash. Additionally, the seller was very rude. She definitely doesn't seem to like her job or, in the worst case, doesn't like people ...
google avatar

Lolita M.

Yelp
This place is very cool. It's huge with a lot going on for everyone. There's stuff d'or the kids to play with and enjoy there's a dance floor and a platform for a live band. The view of the water is beautiful and the food is delicious. The staff is fun and friendly but could be a bit more attentive. We were a large party with kids and ordered a plain hot dog for our little finicky eater. Despite the specifications given the hotdog came fully loaded with salsa that was quite spicy. It's a bit alarming because in this day and age... being aware of specifications and food allergies is important - it could get ugly and not everyone walks around with an epi pen on hand. The food was great though. Margaritas were yummy and I'd definitely return.

Yelp
This place is really neat. They had live music when I went and it was happening. The crowd wasn't that diverse, but it was alright as no one made us feel like an outcast. If you go you'll see for yourself. People went for seafood, drinks, desserts, and just bar food. You can sit anywhere and just chill outside. It's great for a nice sunny and breezy day. If you decide to walk around the water there's a cute little village with shops. They have ample parking too which is a plus.

Yelp
Went there on mother's day Food was terrible. Dogs should not be allowed either. Way too many children running around to watch the kids and the dogs who weren't friendly at all!
google avatar

Amelia Z.

Yelp
Bringing back childhood memories! I was thrilled when my aunt suggested the cove for memorial day, I haven't been there in 30 years. Captains cove is tucked away behind an industrial area of Bridgeport, but not to be overlooked! It was very spacious, lots of tables, and live music. It was beautiful to see families with their children, as I remember the same memories those children were making. There's food and cute little shops with jewelry, artwork, clothing, ice cream, snacks, etc. I noticed they also had a fishers ferry as well! We had lunch on the lower deck. I was happy to see they had a healthier option. I enjoyed the very large Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was lightly dressed which was perfect for my calorie deficit, I opted for lemon wedges instead of extra dressing. There was no specific age group, older people, younger people, families, its everyone's type of place! They update their website/social media with the different bands and schedule and events so check them out!

Yelp
Came here for fresh lobsters but they ran out. So instead we got lobster roll and a sandwich. They were OK, not bad, not the best But the place has an amazing view to enjoy and relax. Food, not so much...

Yelp
Whenever we are in the area, we try our best to stop by to enjoy some delicious seafood and great view. This is a great spot to take the time to enjoy some great fried seafood and a rest while relaxing. The place offers a kids play area as well as multiple tables with umbrellas and some "cabanas" if you are lucky enough to snatch one during busy hours. They also offer themed events during the month to enjoy so be sure to check out the specials they offer! Usually we order the seafood platter to share and enjoy but this time we tried the garlic mussel pot (came with a garlic bread toast) and a chicken sandwich. I would not recommend anything else aside from their fried seafood varieties. The garlic mussel bowl did not feel very fresh - felt like I was eating reheated mussels with some poured garlic butter sauce and the Texas garlic toast came very dry. The chicken was probably the worst culprit as it was the driest - no veggies or sauce for the sandwich just a piece of chicken between 2 toast and some fries. The added mayo did not help nor did the little side of coleslaw that was given with the platter remedy the dryness of this sandwich. I would definitely recommend the seafood platter however - all of the pieces felt freshly fried and it was seasoned just right. You are given more than plenty for 2 people and might even have to take some home! It comes with friend clams, fishes, scallops and shrimps as well as fries and sides of coleslaw and sauces to enjoy with. Although not pictured here, I have also tried their cheeseburger (decent but can be dry sometimes), lobster roll (decent but nothing spectacular) and their hot dogs (regular like all the others). There is also indoor dining seating available where you might get to enjoy some AC and away from the sun. During peak and busy season, the place gets crowded and grabbing a table can become a sport. Despite how hot it gets during the summer, due to the close proximity to the water, you always feel a fresh ocean breeze.

Yelp
Well, to start off. I haven't been there in 25 years. I used to live in Trumbull. I went on a Friday night, two bands, both not very good. That's okay, I enjoyed the scenery. Bartender (The one w/ tattooed arms; girl, long black hair) was rude. I guess I look like I have money, she charged everyone else happy hour prices, me regular. I went with two friends who paid for me, happy hour prices. I went alone she spoke to some guy, charged me regular. Pennies, I don't argue over. She probably kept the extra. On top of it, Prosecco on tap? I had two in 3 hours, had a headache and couldn't see all the next day? I ate plenty before and during this time. They cut the drinks obviously. I have had three out in a night, classy places give you the bottle, and I never have had anything like this happen elsewhere. A headache, and I cannot see for a day? So, it is pretty obvious they cut the tap drinks. I am sure no one stops them, Captain's Cove a money maker there. View beautiful, ambience terrible. Service rude. The blonde bartender (girl) was nice, I could not get her help, had to have the witch. Never again. Even when my friends go there I am not. Bridgeport! All I have to say. Too bad, poorly managed.

Yelp
I would like to say that I've been to Captains cove a few different times and I have to say I love the place . The food and drinks are always consistently good every time I've been there . Everyone is very pleasant and helpful. The owner is very respectful and pleasant to speak to . The big guy that's works upstairs , I think his name is Tavares always has a smile on his face and is very helpful and respectful to myself and my family and others . The security guard in the white shirt, was very respectful . I really love the place thank you for the experience .

Yelp
My wife and I have been here several times in the past to have seafood and enjoy the view. At times we weren't happy with the food or the ambiance. But we stopped by this Sunday and it was a pleasant surprise. The area was clean. The food was very good and fresh. They had a band playing called the Rumors and they were amazing. The crowd was great everyone was having fun and talking and dancing to the music. I must say it was a very nice experience and I will definitely go back again and if every weekend is like this then we may spend many summer weekends at Captain's Cove
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great place to sit outside and grab some seafood. They also offer alcohol. There are a few small shops but the best part was the seafood. We had a little of everything. The were clams, mussels, fish, scallops and lobster. The curl fries were great!

Yelp
So I'm going to review this spot for what it is - a fun place on the water that attracts a lively and diverse and fun loving crowd and in my experience is mostly about seasonal fun at reasonable prices for food and drink. The get good bands on weekends that often appeal to my taste and demographic. Beautiful views on and off shore. Food is middling but that's not what this place is about - unless your hear for food . Even then you can get a decent meal here although not always consistent.

Yelp
If I could leave a 0 star I would. The Cashier tried to rob me and my 2 friends for $40 cash. She overcharged us and when we told her she acted dumb and then told management we yelled at her. She played the victim role and management was completely unprofessional and hostile the way they handled the situation. Horrible custom service, zero regard for hospitality. Im sure the cashiers here are robbing this place blind and the patrons as it's obvious from my experience today. We asked for a full refund and we left and on the way out we followed by staff who was trying to intimidate and Harass our friend group.

Yelp
The place is the same as always. The fish is surprisingly good though. The beverage upstairs is even better. Always worth the price

Yelp
I grew up in New England and I know good seafood and this is not it. I've been coming here for YEARS and honestly it keeps going downhill. My baked potato was hard, the coleslaw was nasty, and being gf my options are: chicken, a piece of tuna on bread or overpriced rubbery lobster. I do appreciate that they tried but NO. All of your food that is fried should be super easy to make not fried...scallops, shrimp, clams, fish DONT BREAD IT & it's instantly GF. For the $42 I paid for 2 people I could get way better food elsewhere, it's not worth the price especially when on a budget. Save your $$$. Also their boat slips are some of the most expensive in the area. Honestly the whole place has gone a bit downhill which is a shame :(

Yelp
What a fun place! I came here with two girlfriends to spend the day. They live in Connecticut and I was visiting from Manhattan. Great drinks, nice view and terrific music. I was happy that there were some vegan choices on the food menu. I was so happy to spend the day here!

Yelp
We truly enjoyed our afternoon lunch at Captains Cove! The operative word in that sentence is "afternoon" as the service was very slow which meant for more drinks over the course of three hours for a lunch for two! It was a beautiful day and sitting in the shade on the dockside patio could not have been more relaxing; the only reason that I couldn't give five stars was for the slow service. Our waitress, Sara, was incredibly kind and attentive as the kitchen operated less quick paced than we had hoped. CC is doing their part in observing socially distanced tables and mandating masks upon entry! The hot lobster tail is delicious and the coleslaw that comes with it is one of the best I've had! Throw on your sunscreen and pull up a chair for a great meal out! Just give yourself lots of time when choosing this place as it is not for those looking to rush through a lunch!

Yelp
I used to love love love them. Now though It's just all right. I do not happen to think it is anywhere as good as it used to be and rarely go there anymore. First off the food is way over priced. And the wait time can be quite long. But also, some of the seafood is just..a little to "fishy" tasting for me. At least it was the last time I went which was not that long ago. It has gone down a bit in quality..the whole cove..in my opinion. When we went last time, it took a seemingly endless time for the food. And it was tough to find a seat. Added to that, was the hectic atmospere. Neither myself nor the person I was with enjoyed it all that much. While waiting for the food, there were wall to wall people and very little space to move around. It was not what I'd call a fun time. Others I know feel the same. It's loud and when crowded now. In the past, I remember many leisurely times here and I also remember the food being a whole lot better. It isn't cheap either. Easy to get lost getting there, parking can be a hassle but isn't that bad. Place smells a little. The best thing about the cove are the little shops and stores. I got a couple of lovely very inexpensive necklaces here. It is nice to walk around there during the day and look at the botiques. But even that gets old. The Cove is most definetely a party spot and I think it's more known now for that now then anything else. I could take it or leave it but would rather leave it. I don't go out of my way to go anymore.

Yelp
You know I don't know whats not to like about this place. Such a good laid back vibe and food. If you're looking for fancy this is not the place. Looking for a good time with a great view and music? This is your place! Let's not forget one of the very few places that have frozen colada drinks which apparently are hard to find.. They have an upstairs bar like area and lower deck seems more of the family area. The food surprisingly was not overly heavy or greasy for being what it was. I didn't leave feeling gross or overly stuffed. Service was fantastic! Will def be back when in town or in a mood for a good live band!!

Yelp
A Black Rock summertime staple, was delightfully surprised to experience the satellite SUSHI bar this past Sunday. Fresh, fast and friendly service. Definitely THE gastronomic draw in my opinion (if you're like me and not into fried seafood) and absolutely worth coming back for!

Yelp
Best place we've found so far in Connecticut. Food, staff, view, drinks - all great! Had a beautiful evening sunset upstairs while sipping on a nice IPA and eating some tasty shrimp. It wasn't crazy expensive like some other places we've been too and the food was fresh. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Location is perfect. 5 stars.

Yelp
This is a great place to spend a day by the coast admission free... Just pack a picnic, rent a boat (Sundays) and get some wind in your hair... or if you'd rather stay out of the water they have nice patio with some shaded spots and beautiful views. There is also a restaurant, bar and some boardwalk shops ... be a captain or pirate, boats for pretend play..it's very enjoyable for the kids as well. I was really fortunate to get a glimpse into history and tour the replicas of the Columbus ships Nina and Pinta docked here the past weekend... Will back back again to take a boat ride. They also offer daily fishing trips.

Yelp
Cafeteria type setting. Order your food, they call your number when order is ready. Picnic tables outside with umbrellas to block sun since most tables outside. It's by the water so menu is seafood heavy. Food good, views of bay very pretty with little shops for tourists to browse. Minutes from Bridgeport ferry.

Yelp
Updating my review. I've been here five times over the past year and I have mixed emotions. Remember a few years ago when there was the great, "what color is the dress" debate? Well, that's what happened with our food the other night. We came on taco Tuesday and couldn't resist ordering a few beer battered chicken tacos, a calamari taco for him and a side of fries to share. I waited a bit for the order, in the meantime paying for individual sides of honey mustard (my favorite dipping sauce) and was growing hungry. The chicken tacos came out and looked great with fresh ingredients including avocado. Then, what was supposed to be one order of fries ended up being six. The staff loosely explained that the extra fries were due to the broken chips that came with our tacos, but seriously, six side orders of fries for two people? My goodness. We sat outside on the top level and enjoyed the perfect summer weather. I bit into my "chicken" taco and was confused. The "meat" tasted odd and more like fish, which I really don't care for. Upon my second bite, I was perplexed. I asked my BF what we were eating and we spent the rest of the night trying to figure it out if we were eating chicken, cod or something else. Consensus was that whatever we were eating wasn't good, and we stuck to the snacking on the six sides of fries. I must say, the fries are pretty good, but stick to one order, not six. I guess I should mention the hair in my cocktail for a little added bonus. We both left hungry and confused. So why three stars? I still love the view and the decor, and I'm willing to give this place another try as long as I go just for drinks (with no bonus strand of hair) or maybe some fries!
