Yesterday, I had the privilege of taking my 79-year-old friend—who was also my nanny growing up—to the soup kitchen. It was such a special time together, and the atmosphere was truly humbling. We had the honor of sitting next to a gentleman named Larry, who reminded me of Fred Sanford’s friend Lamont from the old TV show. He had us laughing and talking about sports. He shared how poorly the Tigers had played the day before, and I told him that could change—and sure enough, the Tigers won yesterday. Hallelujah! The staff was kind and welcoming, and the manager even gave me a card so I can come back to volunteer. I look forward to bringing my children (ages 12 and 13) so they can see firsthand that no one is ever better than anyone else. I believe it will be an eye-opening and humbling experience for them as well. We were also blessed with a delicious lunch—thank you for the burritos (or tacos)! The portions were so generous that I couldn’t finish it all. It was truly a treat and a reminder of the goodness in people. I’m very grateful for this place and the work they’re doing in the community.

C well I have never obviously been there before but however I do know that that when that since I am I'm totally blind I do know that they are very helpful and all that sort of thing I listen to I listen to the reports on channel 4 WDIV on TV and I hear that they need help whether it be volunteering or whether it be handing out food or donating so you know and if you want to you know I mean I think it's a great thing for a church or or maybe you know to take your kids or grandkids to you know to so they can learn responsibility and and they can learn to help and love others the way God wants wants them to

This place is a blessing for Detroit and I will take my own photos with their permission. It’s a soup kitchen for homeless people which I have used when I was down and out. God bless these people, and God bless the city for having this.

I came here since the shelter im at isn't providing hot meals. The lunch was far better than I've eaten in over a month. I'm highly appreciative!!!

Ive had a number of years of experience here when my family lost our ssi in 82 we were able to go there every 3or4 days and get bags of groceries. I will never forget it.now the food pantry does that. Its a great place for those in need.

Good place with good people Mich love to brother Ed and sister Mary. I get the spiritual food for my soul and if I'm hungry a not meal for my belly. Not just myself but for the less fortunate as well. Great things happen here. Oh yeah shot out to miss hope.
