25 Iconic Dishes That Define Rome - Rome - The Infatuation

"There are always two things at Trattoria Da Enzo: a line snaking out the door and silky carbonara worth every minute of the wait. This always-packed, cheerfully loud trattoria serves theirs with rigatoni (the superior choice), and it’s reliably creamy, with plenty of guanciale and a heavy hand of pecorino. They source lots of ingredients from their own farm, about an hour north of the city, so everything tastes incredibly fresh. So fresh, we once nearly missed a flight just to have one last bowl." - annie replogle

We came to Carbonara Trattoria for a small celebration, and honestly, it was exactly what we needed. The vibe is always on point—warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of cozy and classy. It’s the kind of place where you instantly relax. The food? So fresh and flavorful. We started with the bruschetta, and it was perfect—crispy bread, juicy tomatoes, fresh basil. Simple but done right. For the main, I had the chicken piccata, and it was super tender with that bright, lemony sauce that hits just right. Everything tasted like it was made with care. Drinks were refreshing too—light, not too sweet, and perfect for toasting. And the service was great—friendly, easygoing, and made us feel taken care of without being over the top. This is why we love coming here. It always feels special, the food is consistently delicious, and the whole experience is just easy and enjoyable. Definitely one of our go-to spots.

Google
Food here was exceptionally made, delectable and well portioned. Only thing not great was our appetizers of steamed mussels came with about 5-6 empty shells which is nearly a third of the portion. Wish they’d take the time to check this before sending it out to us, but we didn’t say anything. I asked for a cocktail menu and was told that they had a full bar. As a person who doesn’t typically drink, it wasn’t helpful to not have a menu to choose from so I ended up not ordering anything. Service was both exceptional and lacking at the same time for us. We had a waiter who was very attentive and even friendly to other tables. However, he was less attentive with us though we sat closest to the entry point of the outdoor space so he had to walk by us every time he came in and out. We had to ask multiple times for refills, more bread, our check and often times waited long enough to stare at an empty table until he notices us (long waits between our appetizers until our entrees arrived). The bus boys however, were great, super professional and honestly served us more than our waiter did. Atmosphere-wise, I think if we sat inside it would’ve been nice. We were sat outside but not at the restaurant’s designated patio space which seemed like a nice setting. It would have been fine except the space we were put in definitely felt like a makeshift area in front of the next door’s sidewalk. Felt a little like sitting in someone’s driveway.

The ambiance was so nice! Our waiter was good! We really enjoyed the calamari and the bruschetta appetizers!! My carbonara pasta was good and my bf enjoyed his bolognese pasta. Tiramisu was very light and delicious!

Google
The place was amazing! The food was delicious and the service couldn't have been better. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked. I also had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, best I've had! My gf had the pesto pasta crab cake and that was delicious as well. Definitely a great experience!

Google
Service was great. My food came out very well, but our birthday boy’s pasta came out over cooked. The appetizers were very good. In particular the artichokes were good. I was disappointed by a few of the changes that have been made at the restaurant. The restaurant has lost their cocktail menu and their bartender has no recollection of the previous signature cocktails. We noticed that the general manager, Patrick, was in shorts and scrolling his phone in a distracting way. Anyway, the restaurant is still quite good, but it seems like they have made some nonsensical changes within the past year.

Google
Here are my thoughts about what I ordered: My old fashion wasn’t the best, but okay. The appetizer artichoke were not bad at all. For my main dish, the potatoes were too dried to my taste and the fish lacked seasoning (a little bit of salt would have done wonder). The sauce that paired with the fish was amazing on the other hand. The waiter was very kind - however, I did feel some kind a way, when I realized that all the other table received bread and i did not 😐

Google
Amazing food! My husband and I went here Saturday 2/18 for date night. The restaurant does need to be cleaned better. The mirrors on the back wall were covered in finger prints & hand prints, the wall had some food splatter on it. Definitely recommend the restaurant to have staff clean better. I understand this is a older establishment. But the food & drinks were great. Our waiter Tony was on top of things, very friendly and professional. We will definitely go back again. We ordered Grilled artichokes, Carbonara,Veal Piccata, and for drinks my husband got a rum and coke and I got the Van Gogh Martini which is an espresso martini.

We are visiting Atlanta from North Carolina. We were craving a good Italian meal so we tried Carbonara. We were delighted with the pastas and especially the short rib. It was a large fat free piece that was full of flavor. My wife got the pasta and it was not boxed pasta definitely hand made..Very impressed with the staffs team player ways of taking care of diners. Very well ran authentic Italian restaurant. I WOULD GIVE 6 STARS IF I COULD..Wish we had rhis back in Raleigh NC

Yelp
Excitedly reached out to Carbonara to get info about catering for our wedding. I always liked this restaurant and we were wanting a pasta caterer. They have made the experience difficult and poor. I used their intake form on their website and had someone reach out. The person has been very poor at responding accordingly. I suggested that id like to just have a phone call to get more information considering this is my first time. But received delayed responses(which led me to delay mine too) I decided to call the restaurant and explain id love to get more info and would love to have someone else or that original person stay on top of contacting me. It's been over a week now and I still haven't heard anything.

Yelp
Dunwoody Village has some great spots hidden away! We did a holiday event at a local bar and then opted to drop in here. Parking lot for the shops can get crazy packed, fyi. Really loved the feel and ambiance of this Italian place. Very quaint and cozy, with a warm atmosphere. Reminded me of my favorite Italian place growing up. Our waiter was awesome and had an accent. Possibly French? Certainly was knowledgeable on the menu. He also made some great suggestions for wine. For my meal, I had the Penne Al Arrabiatta with grilled chicken. It was fantastic! Probably some of the best Italian I've had in the past year (minus my childhood Italian place). Overall, a great experience and would highly recommend!

Yelp
A little secret .... They have Eggplant Parmesan!!! I've been looking high and low for Eggplant Parmesan on menus and even though it's not on the menu here, we decided to come anyway. Hubby picked the place and I saw only Chicken Parm on the menu but decided to just go with the flow. When I jokingly asked our server Gavin if I could have the Chicken Parm and sub eggplant, he said sure. And he was serious. And it was good. I can't wait to go back.

I was craving pasta and my family and i had dinner here. Very homey place. Great server and great food.

Yelp
Best Italian Spot in Georgia! Beef not mixed with pork meatballs. Gluten free pasta options. Vegetarian options. Ambiance lovely. Amazing bread. The potatoes and carrots on the side of the filet were fabulous. Lots of salads to choose from. He served my Panna in a fancy glass and I felt seen! Service impeccable. Parking easy.

Yelp
Service now recovered. So we will be regulars again. Food wow. Excellent. Started with warm bread, Followed by an order of steamed mussels. Juicy in tasty broth. Entrees: chicken Marsala, chicken parm; seafood risotto; Flounder francess. They accommodated changes in sides. While the two chicken dishes are standards, they were done quite well. The risotto and flounder dishes were exceptionally good. A chocolate lava dessert was better than typical. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Good food. For an appetizer the artichoke hearts are great and everyone said the oysters and calamari were great. The swordfish was very good. When the restaurant gets busy the service gets slow. We will be back.

Yelp
I'm staying for the night at atlanta before my way back home to Florida. I ordered 2 pastas and a side of meatballs my entire check was 80 dollars!!!!! And the most tiny serving I've ever had!!!! Plus that! They don't even send utensils! The coke, they don't even send a can , their serve a small cup and this is not safe for delivery! Hate the experience at all!

Yelp
First of all let me start by saying this is one of our favorite Dunwoody restaurants for both the food and ambiance. Tonight we had a disappointing experience with customer service. We had reservations for two at 6pm for which we arrived 5 min early. Being Mother's Day and knowing it would be busy, we were not upset that we did not get seated right away. We were told that our table would be ready soon. We watched as other groups of 4 and 6 who arrived after us were seated right away. At 6:20, I inquired about our table and was told we were next in line for a table for two. At 6:45, we decided to leave and let the hostess know (owner was standing right there and said nothing). I understand holidays can be busy with reservations and waiting may be required. What was most disappointing was that no one ever explained to us what the situation was, apologize, or even offer us a glass of wine while we waited. Someone should have been able to tell us when we first arrived that it might be 20-30 minutes (which was actually 45+) based on where current patrons were in their meal, and not tell us we would be seated soon. I just felt the customer service was subpar for what we have experienced in the past. And I don't think we should have had to wait over 45 minutes when we had a reservation. And it made it even more disappointing being Mothers Day - what was supposed to be my dinner out ended up being leftovers at home because everywhere else was already booked.

Yelp
We've been neglecting Carbonara Trattoria because yelp had an Italian restaurant around the corner rated higher. For our first visit here, the plan was to walk in, sit at the bar, order a snack and something to go. First off, Trey, the bartender/server was great telling us what was on the menu. We ordered the fried oysters and they were very good. Trey also did a great job wine pairing and let us try a few other things. We decided to stay and order the carbonara salad and the cobia entree. At this point, for us to do an appetizer/salad/entree/desert, we have to split a few things and are quite comfortable sharing a plate, especially sitting next to each other in the bar. So, we said we wanted to split the salad. Much to our surprise, two little salads came out. Then we said we'd split the fish. Again, two small plates came out. This seemed above and beyond to me, but was very nice. We did order the "chocolate temptation" to go and ate it after we got home. The food was great, the ambience was nice, and we will definitely be going back!

Yelp
I love this Family Owned business! I go regularly for the experience, staff and the food. My favorite dish is actually the steak filet! Pricing is fabulous and the choice of ounces is perfect for sharing or exploring other menu items. They have an extensive outdoor patio as well.

Yelp
Great local dining in Dunwoody. Forget all the chains clogging the mall and head here. Great bolognese, daily risotto specials, full bar. Attentive staff.

Yelp
Fantastic Italian dinner this evening! This was our first visit and it won't be our last. We both had pasta dishes, the Tagliatelle Bolognese and Spaghetti Carbonara. Both were excellent, but the Carbonara was probably the best I've ever had! They serve bread prior to the meal and although it was flavorful it was a bit overcooked and the butter was ice cold hard. Inside of the restaurant that's a warm ambience, however, many of the tables are too close together in my opinion. Service was adequate. Overall, it was a pleasurable dining experience and we both agreed that it was the best Italian food we've had in Atlanta in the decade plus that we've lived here.

Bailey T.

Yelp
The carbonara from here was pretty underwhelming in both presentation and taste, which was surprising considering it's in the restaurant name. The wine I had was very good as well as the starter bread, but I was looking for more as a whole considering the price tag. Also, service was extremely slow. Restaurant ambiance was nice for a date night.

Yelp
Nice little Italian restaurant in dunwoody. I made a reservation to sit at the bar. I loved that I could reserve a seat at the bar since most places consider the bar first come, first serve. I tried the fried green tomatoes and the brazino w/ asparagus, olives and potatoes. Both were really good and not over done. The bartender was really nice and even played some old school music as it got later. This place is located in a plaza with other restaurants and businesses so there is plenty of parking. Although not required, I do reccomend a reservation.

Yelp
I'm a New York City born and raised Italian American grandma. I was visiting Atlanta this past week for my son's birthday (8/29/23) and we went to dinner at his favorite restaurant: Carbonara Trattoria in Dunwoody. If you haven't tried this restaurant before, you should...the food was phenomenal. My son and daughter-in-law have been here many times and say the food has been great every time...that's why we went there for his birthday!! The drinks were delicious and the wait staff was very attentive as well. For an appetizer, we had fried calamari which was made with a different type of breading than I am used to getting in NY...this was a little crunchier almost like it had crusty Italian bread in the mix (not as much as Panko though). It had just the right amount of "crunch"...I loved it! It was a nice change. The calamari was cooked perfectly too...not rubbery at all! My son and daughter-in-law also shared the Carbonara salad which had strawberries and fried goat cheese and said it was delicious. For the entrees, my son ordered a rib-eye steak on garlic mashed potatoes with a side of garlic mushrooms (much better tasting than my mushrooms!), my daughter-in-law had Rigatoni made with sausage and eggplant, and I had Chicken Piccata over risotto. We all loved our meals. My son said his steak was cooked to perfection and my chicken was perfectly cooked too and the flavor was just out of this world! I actually used some leftover bread to wipe my plate clean so I got every last drop of piccata sauce!! It was just so DELICIOUS! The risotto was a nice addition I am not used to getting in NY. For dessert, I ordered Tiramisu (my favorite dessert) and requested a scoop of coconut gelato. I know they don't "go" together, but I love both and it's been years since I had coconut gelato. The gelato was delicious but the Tiramisu was INCREDIBLE!!! Here in NY, many restaurants are now serving Tiramisu in a very SMALL dessert bowl so you know it was made in advance and it just isn't very exciting anymore. It's been years since I was served a PIECE of Tiramisu like I was served here. I was pleasantly surprised. It was just delicious and I ate it very slowly to savor every delicious bite! I can't believe how good it was! Everything I ate was simply delicious!! This was probably the best overall meal I have had in a long time and I do eat out weekly. Kudos to the chef and his staff. Go to Carbonara Trattoria...you will love it!

Devon K.

Yelp
First of all Tony is an amazing waiter! Very polite, checks in and super attentive. Secondly this food is amazing, and they have a great wine selection. Great place to take a date or enjoy a nice meal. Cozy old school Italian vibes.

Cooper S.

Yelp
Service was horrid and I found a hair in my pasta. Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT COME HERE. Atmosphere is unsettling too. Absolute waste of money

Yelp
I was absolutely delighted with my meal here. Lots of Yelpers spoke highly of the place and they weren't lying! Just so happened that Wednesday night was half price bottle night. Score number one! We got a lovely DOCG Chianti for less than $20. Next there was some great bread brought to the table with some butter. Good to munch on while waiting for the entree. My dining companion ordered lasagna. Her plate came with a HUGE portion on the plate. Beef and veal sauce with ricotta cheese and marinara with a melty gooey mozzarella atop the slice. It was truly a good dish. I opted for a classic dish...veal parmigiana. Tender thin slices of breaded veal with a little cheese and a spicy marinara sauce atop a mountain of Capellini Marinara. A wonderful dish! The winner? ....Too close to call! Both were great and that was the 2nd score. Two dishes that are awesome! The 3rd score? A wonderful waiter that took care of us from the very beginning to the very end. As we were leaving the restaurant the sky opened up and we had parked our car around the corner. Our waiter gave me his personal umbrella and go to the car to drive it around so that she wouldn't get wet. That is top notch service. When Im back in Dunwoody, I will certainly go back!!

Yelp
This is a solid Italian restaurant. This is the second time I've been here and the food delivers. It's just not my first pick or the place that I crave going to. I also wish it had more selection. They provide complimentary bread with butter to begin, and my husband and I both appreciated the crispy crust of the (guessing sourdough?) loaf. The most memorable dish for me was the tricolor salad with walnut Gorgonzola dressing. It was so crisp and refreshing! Portion size was perfect as a starter (not for an entree), with the greens having been well massaged with dressing without losing texture. For my entree I ordered the penne Arabbiata, the only vegetarian dish, and I requested the addition of spinach and eggplant. When it arrived, I was pleased with the potion size, aroma, and overall appetizing blend of sauce and pasta. However, when it came to taste, while the sauce was very flavorful, I found the texture to be a bit watery so the pasta could not hold the flavor to my liking. It wasn't until the last few bites when I had the sauce, veggies and pasta mixed in well with the Buffalo mozzarella did the texture thicken and provide more satisfying bites. I paired this richly seasoned pasta with a Coltibuono Chianti. I still recommend this place. Overall it's a strong Italian dining experience.

Yelp
Best chicken piccata in atlanta period !! Been here every other week and never disappointed with taste and flavor And big top for Tony !!! Best service..

Kim C.

Yelp
Food is excellent! Service is impeccable! Chicken Parm is yummy and perfectly cooked, and big portion. Wedge is fresh and the house made blue cheese dressing is the kicker. Very old school Italian vibe that pairs with the true Italian cuisine. White tablecloth candlelit patio dining, cozy bar area dining, and a grand dining room with tables and banquet seating. Half off bottles of wine on Sunday & Wednesday! Greeted by the lovey owners of this family-owned establishment, and the staff gives one-of-a-kind special treatment! Try the piccata, the parm, the beet or watermelon salad, the fried green tomatoes, the lasagna, fish dishes --- those are my favorites, but all dishes are amazing. This gem is frequented by newer patrons and families that have been coming here forever for the food and the warmth of feeling like family; come see for yourself and you too will be hooked and become family! Clearly, I highly recommend!!! Cheers!

Yelp
I have come in here many times and this is by far the best Italian food I have ever had. The service was immaculate as we were sat immediately. My server Gavin, was very nice and checked in on my table multiple times. I ordered the chicken piccata and I believe it's safe to say it's very very good. If you are looking for a nice, yet slightly casual Italian restaurant please come to this place.
google avatar

George W.

Yelp
Nice local eatery serving authentic Italian fare. Their outdoor dining area is not as picturesque as others in Atlanta but the food and service make up for lack of ambiance. We had wedge salads, then tagliatelle bolognese and trout. The trout is served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Their bread is worth noting and is better than most, especially with olive oil and herbs. We keep this restaurant in heavy rotation and will certainly return.

Yelp
Excellent Management and Experience! The company I work for had an in-person dinner following regional team meeting after a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic. We definitely made the right choice. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service staff was very friendly and the food was great. We are so glad we chose to eat at Carbonara Trattoria. It was a wonderful experience, and our teams are happy. Thanks!

Yelp
We were here for my Dads birthday and the food was amazing. Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese. The bruschetta was delicious. Dinner was so good. Salmon, filet, and the sides, all good! Nice little place. Would return.

Yelp
We just ate at Carbonara Trattoria for dinner tonight, and as always it did not disappoint! My husband and I sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and he frequently offered tips on our dinner options. My husband ordered the tomato soup for a starter, and he said it was the best tomato soup he has ever had. I tried some, and it was delicious! I ordered the carbonara salad as my starter, and it was delicious, especially the fried goat cheese! For a meal my husband got the 8 oz filet mignon, fried au gratin potatoes, and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I ordered the farfalle al salmon and it was amazing. The sauce was flavorful and the salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly. For dessert, my husband ordered the New York cheesecake and loved it. I forgot the name of what I ordered, but it was something like chocolate sensation. It was cut like a cheesecake but made of light and dark whipped hazelnut, with a crunch layer and dark chocolate on top. Amazing. This is probably our fourth or fifth time coming to this restaurant, and the food and service are always top tier. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our experience at Carbonara Trattoria. Was celebrating my daughter for another good college semester. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with outdoor heated seating and social distanced seating indoors. Pretty impressed with the spacing between tables indoors. They provide a wonderful bread for the table. We started with the fried green tomatoes and the caprese. Absolutely live the fried green tomatoes with it's wonderful breading, soft cheese and sauce. The caprese tomatoes were fresh and the mozzarella is good. I would've wanted more balsamic but it was still quite good. My daughter ordered the penne with shrimp. I initially ordered the lunquini with seafood but when I saw the chicken parm come to the table next door, I changed it. The chicken parm is very good. They crisp the edges which I like but I had some areas that were a bit too crunchy. The flavor was still quite good. It comes with spaghetti. The cream cheese is very smooth and rich. For drinks my daughter had an Arnold Palmer and I had a cosmopolitan. My daughter said the AP wasn't sweet enough but my cosmo was very good. I asked for suggestions for the Malbec and the witer suggested the Catena which is awesome. At the end of the meal, one of the bus guys started talking to us after picking up a plate and suggested I try one of his favorite cab that he gives his parents for the holidays. I think I found a new favorite Cabernet Sauvignon wine, Bocelli. What really set the restaurant for us is the great service. The food was good but our server was awesome. He was attentive and had our food out quickly even with changes. I wish I could give a 4 1/2 stars. We will definitely come again.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
The staff here is wonderful. The service is excellent and the manager is a nice older man that makes it a point to greet everybody and check in on all the tables. Unfortunately, I cannot justify paying such exorbitant prices for such mediocre food. I got the pasta carbonara (thinking this must be their signature dish as it is in their name) and finished it off with a raspberry limoncello. Total price before tax and tip 24$. Pretty reasonable if the food didn't suck. The portions are on the smaller size in both physique and flavor. Honestly, I feel bad writing something so negative because I really enjoyed the service and people. Everyone was so attentive. And you get free bread... I like bread.

Jeff P.

Yelp
Went here last night for a date night with a 7:30 pm reservation. After being told "5-10" minutes as a couple of tables "are finishing up". After 30+ minutes of being told "just a couple more minutes" and no end in sight My wife and I finally walked out.

Yelp
Finally we have found our go-to Italian restaurant in Atlanta! We came here on a Saturday night and it was slammed. Got a reservation on OpenTable so no issues. We liked the bar area better so sat on a high top and had "Link" as our server. Excellent service all night! Besides the menu, you can customize anything you like (major points for this as an option). I got penne a la vodka (it was delish!) and my husband got the grouper (also excellent). We enjoyed our experience so much, we came back a week later, this time on a Friday night. Friday night was busier maybe due to the time as well (we arrived around 8pm). No tables and the wait was very long. We ate at the actual bar this time and the service was not that great due to one bartender serving the entire area. No fault of hers but our entrees too 1 hour plus from the time we sat down. We are not sit at the bar people but was hoping for quicker service. Again the restaurant was slammed so we didn't mind. This time I got the eggplant parmesan and my husband got chicken parmesan. We both said it was the best we have had. So there you have it! Two visits, a week apart, restaurant packed each time and the food is customized to whatever your heart desires and came out delicious each time. We can't wait to go back and request Link as our server. He was so attentive and gracious. P.S. unlike MANY Italian restaurants, they carry champagne (most only have prosecco). Veuve half bottle is $45 but you have to ask for it, not on menu. ENJOY!

Yelp
We visited Carbonara Trattoria for the first time and it will definitely not be the last. The ambiance was superb, as well as impeccable service. The owner visited each table personally to ensure satisfaction. The food was exquisite. Romantic setting for an unforgettable evening.

Yelp
Did my scroll through Yep to see where's the best pasta spot in the perimeter area, and Carbonara was on top of the list. I got the Tagliatelle and my date ordered the Chicken Marsala. These dishes alone were amazing, packed with full of flavors! Also, the complimentary bread, was soft and SOO fresh. Services was very attentive and fast. That said, would we be back? Of freaking course! Highly recommended!

Yelp
I am vegan. I ordered the Fallfalle Salmon without the Salmon, Cheese and the Cream Sauce. I added sautéed mushrooms. The waiter understood my order. When I received my plate the presentation was nice. I ate a few bites and noticed the stringy like "cheese" and brought this to the attention of our waiter. He confirmed that it was cheese. I did not want anything else after that experience and waited for my friends to finish their meals. The manager apologized. Because of the miscommunication between the waiter and the kitchen staff they will get a one Star. I felt sick to my stomach for a few days and had to do a detox. What is wrong with these people not respecting Vegan Life?

Yelp
This is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Dunwoody. Also very close to Sandy Springs. We we there for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night. By 6 pm, the restaurant was packed. Our server, Tony, was attentive and friendly. I had the chicken piccata with lemon/artichoke risotto for $20.00. Bread was brought to the table before we ordered. Very generous portions on everyone's plate (8 of us). Eggplant Parmesan was not on the menu, but they prepared it for the "birthday girl". Another guest ordered a very impressive ribeye steak. I'll now be a frequent customer! Make reservations and go early as it's a popular place.

Yelp
My favorite Italian restaurant. Good friendly service and the food is great! The fried oyster appetizer is so tasty! The pasta dishes are awesome. The Pork Chop special is the best ever!

Yelp
Went on a Friday evening. Everything was delicious! They were featuring fried oysters and they were awesome! We also ordered the bruschetta to start and it was was great. The entrees were equally amazing. We had the surf and turf with lemon risotto, the carbonara and the pasta with seafood. All were excellent dishes! Tiramisu was a great ending to a great meal!

Yelp
Very nice service! The waiter was very nice and gave truthful opinions about what he likes and which he thinks is better than another. The food was great and the appetizers were amazing. The environment was friendly and kid friendly as well.

Yelp
Nice little spot for some really amazing food. Waiter was pleasant and efficient. Overall service was great. Enjoyed the baked rigatoni with a cold Peroni!

Yelp
First time, food was excellent and the Oysters were to die for. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
The food was so blend, the bread was hard as a rock. The two stars are really for the waiter cause she was great and the other was for the wine. I wouldn't go back even if the food was free. To my surprise the place was packed.

Yelp
We have a go-to Italian place in Atlanta - but we want a close second.....this is the place. I am a Northeast guy - the formula for an awesome regular Italian place is easy - warm, friendly, brisk, good basics, good red sauce, and a nice wine list. This place has just about all of it Reservations - yes for sure - I like that - but it's 4 stars instead of 5 because on each of my 3 occasions, it's a 20 minutes wait even with the reservation. That's annoying but I think they try and treat walk ins nice - it's a neighborhood place so I get it, At least they take reservations. Staff and Owner - outstanding - just good decent people. Everyone is nice - like we all live in the same neighborhood. The owner is a sweet man who walks around, says hi and helps where he can. He's involved and you can tell. Food - Salads and Apps - OK. If you are going to charge 13 bucks for a salad, it needs to be more than a buck of greens etc on a small plate - they have this WAY overpriced - it's really a miss. I am not one to split hairs over cost, but no one likes getting ripped off. The soup was excellent. The bruschetta is nice. I wish they would have clams in the wine sauce instead of mussels. I asked but they said they don't have enough clams to substitute.....so go buy more.....you are going to sell them. Entrees - outstanding. They shine here - Marsala and Piccata dishes are flavorful and plentiful. Red sauce is the real deal and they even have gluten free noodles, so nice there. Desserts are nice. Drinks are OK - wine list is fine, It gets a little speedy in the end - party of 4 with salads and entrees with a couple drinks gets to be 200 bucks.....but is' good food.

Yelp
My wife and I lived in Dunwoody for over 6 years before trying this neighborhood gem. We were sorry that we waited so long! The food is really excellent and they have a great variety of choices from meats to seafood to pastas to salads. Now we are regulars that keep going back and they never disappoint. We are thankful to have such a great option for Italian food close to home!

Yelp
We had a fantastic time! We both enjoyed our wines (Pinot noir and Malbec), the calamari was perfect. Not greasy or overly fried, just perfect. The side salad and balsamic dressing was beautifully presented and tasty. He enjoyed the chicken Marsala and the three chicken breasts were more than enough. I loved the filet mignon special. We had a chocolate espresso martini and the homemade tiramisu for dessert, which were both scrumptious. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas was a romantic but not intimidating atmosphere. More cozy and rustic. The device was excellent. An absolutely beautiful evening.

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty hard to find but once you do the food is worth it. I could tell that it was a local favorite upon entry! Parking: There is plenty! It's inside of a plaza. Interior: The restaurant is definitely dark and quaint. I was surprised that the large party I was with sat comfortably. The host offered me a menu as I was the first to arrive. Service: Our server wasn't as friendly as I hoped. I order a glass of wine and my wine came out after everyone received their mixed drinks which didn't make sense. He also failed to split the bill correctly. He put two items on my check that I didn't ask to be placed on my check. I also felt like our food was a little slow to come out as well. Food: The reason they get four stars is because the food was incredible! My pasta was fresh and perfectly proportioned! The appetizers were also great. I think that's some of the best calamari I have had to date. What the guests and employees lacked in diversity they made up in quality of food. I don't know if I would feel comfortable dining here with just my fiancé but the food is excellent.

Yelp
Excellent menu, food and bar with gluten free options. I have never had better risotto. Everything I have tried has been a treat. Their beet salad is delicious. The produce is fresh, and the difference between fresh beets and the canned beets I ate growing up is night & day. The staff are always polite and helpful. The menu is primarily familiar dishes. The specials usually provide options for a dish I have not had anywhere.
