D.C.’s Mayor Wants to Okay Drinking in Public — With a Bunch of Caveats | Eater DC

"If the proposed commercial lifestyle center license is approved, I could walk and drink within developments like the Entertainment and Sports Arena complex in Southeast, where tenant businesses would be allowed to sell drinks that can be consumed on plazas, seating areas, concourses, walkways, and other thoroughfares — subject to rules such as prohibiting outside drinks, using clearly marked non-glass cups, and cutoff times of 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends." - Tierney Plumb

Great arena size that will keep the building packed. Perfect for the Mystics. Not necessarily a fan of the residential units so close by as it makes navigating the grounds a bit difficult, but the space is perfect for our Mystics. For some reason, tonight, 7/29/25, the arena felt like it had zero air. Fans were fanning themselves, and folks had towels and paper towels ready for use!. Either way, I would love a better Team Store option and more Mystics gear. Seems they fell short on the gear.

This is a nice arena, now the aren around the arena is shaky at best. I will defintely go back to more events if they have them. Was able to see a boxing match and enjoyed it truly

I enjoyed my experience at CareFirst Arena for the Mystics vs. Liberty game! From the moment we entered—greeted by ticket takers, seat escorts, and vibrant signage—to our departure, the service was on par. The restrooms were well-stocked and maintained, adding to the overall positive experience. For improvements, I recommend informing ticket holders in advance if both mascots will be present. My sister was excited to see Big Ellie, but unfortunately, Ellie wasn’t there. Additionally, installing a rain awning for those waiting outside for rideshares would be helpful. The entrance area is small and can become congested during rainy weather when people are searching for their rides.

Great wnba fan experience everyone is friendly and since it's a smaller venue wherever you sit you will get a good view of the court.

The first game I attended, it was raining. I was told to leave my umbrella at the door, and when I returned after the game, it was gone. There was no reimbursement, apology, or assistance provided. During my second visit, I brought my nieces and was required to purchase a $25 locker for their small purses — which felt like a scam. This policy should be clearly advertised to all customers when purchasing tickets. To make matters worse, my cousin was allowed to enter with her purse, so it’s clear that the information being enforced is inconsistent among the Security Officers at the Arena.

1st WNBA game! Great atmosphere parking was less than 2 minutes to the arena. Great food options! Will be returning

I went for the first time and saw the game against the Sun. I had a really good time. The arena is conveniently located and there's probably not a bad seat in the place. It's small so you get a great view no matter your seat. As far as concessions, they're a pro sports team. If you've been to a Nats game, expect similar pricing but less options (again, it's a small arena). I don't know what took me so long, but I will definitely be back for another event.
