Google
Perfect spot for coffee and pastries. They have all types of food, but we got the croissant and a caramel dessert. This place highly exceeded our expectations. The iced coffee with cream was a great way to start a warm summer day. The staff was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. We only had to wait about 15 minutes on a busy Friday morning to get in. Will definitely be back sometime soon. We will highly recommend this to all of our friends coming from America.

Google
Carette Café definitely has the touristy charm going for it — beautiful location, classic Parisian feel, and nice photo ops. That said, the hype doesn’t quite live up to the experience. The food and service were okay, nothing too special, but it’s decent if you’re in the area and want to soak in the Paris vibes. Worth a quick stop, especially for first-time visitors.

Google
After seeing Carette on social media we had to see if the hype was justified, and they absolutely did not disappoint. We enjoyed a beautiful brunch in a stunning location, and though the queue to be seated was very long this went down quickly and service was fast and friendly. The viral Carette hot chocolate was out of this world, and we felt the menu prices accurately reflected the size and quality of the dishes.

Google
Of course, the internet influenced my decision. This was my third time visiting this place. During my first two attempts, I left because the line wasn't moving. However, on my third and final visit, I was able to get in within about 20 minutes. I have to say, the chocolate drink is really good, and the club sandwich was enjoyable as well. My sister ordered some crepes, but honestly, they weren't the best. The food is pricey, and I would only return for the chocolate. When popular places are so crowded, they often don’t take the time to provide the best service and experience.

Google
Where do I start. This is an absolute MUST while in Paris! And to think we almost didn’t go bc of the 45 min trek it took to get there. From the service to the atmosphere to the food, everything was perfect and our server was super friendly. The best scrambled eggs w/mushrooms. The ABSOLUTE BEST Hot Chocolate, the Best Orange Juice! And we lucked out bc from the line we would’ve waited 20-30 minutes but bc it was 5 of us, a table for 5 opened up before a table for 2.

Google
A wonderful location for food and drink before heading to watch the celebrations of Bastille Day. Prices are high, but this is too be expected for the location and high quality of the restaurant. All waiters were friendly and spoke good English. This was helpful as my French is practically non existent. Highly recommend here.

Google
Carette Paris is a bit on the expensive side, but the food and overall experience make it worthwhile. The brunch menu had great variety, and everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully served. The real standout, though, was their signature hot chocolate—thick, rich, and absolutely indulgent. It’s clear why it’s what they’re known for. Perfect spot for a relaxed, upscale brunch in Paris.

Google
great place, but very busy! The staff was nice. The food was good, the hot chocolate was very good, but overall overpriced. You pay for the name. (I still prefer the hot chocolate from Angelina!)

Yelp
Carette is an amazing restaurant with a lively atmosphere. It was a cozy spot with incredible food. We went for breakfast and the service was very fast. The hot chocolate was amazing and would highly recommended. The pastries were incredible and we could tell that they were fresh. The pastries also paired really well with the drinks. This location is great as it if walking distance from an Eiffel Tower viewing spot.

Yelp
TLDR; Cute vibe just a couple blocks from the Eiffel Tower. Great drinks and good food, slightly higher priced than what you may expect but worth it. This cafe offers the famous hot chocolate which is a must, not too rich but perfectly dense for a delicious cup. You can sweeten it up and provide a less dense texture with the whip that comes paired with it. The fruit is delicious but over priced in my opinion. The crepe was good and what you'd expect. Can't for wrong with the lemon tart or butter croissant as well. The service was straight forward but a touch slow, that seems to be the vibe throughout Paris.

Yelp
We had seen plenty of reviews for this place, so we made a point to stop in on our visit. It was late, and we had already had dinner, so we were just looking for a later-night snack. Absolutely unforgettable! First off, we sat outside, which was a fantastic ambiance, even if it was a tad crowded, even after 10 PM (welcome to France!). The waiter was fantastic; super polite and helpful. Something for non-Europeans to remember: don't expect fast service. Honestly, i see so many reviews, and it's like, did you even research the culture? If you show up acting like an idiot, being loud, rude, making no attempt to respect their culture or even speak the language, then yeah, people are going to be less attentive to you. welcome to everywhere. if you even try, they will appreciate you, and this place is no different. And being able to speak French, we had a wonderful experience. So, that aside, our late night snack. This place is known for a lot of things, but we went with the canapés maison and the chocolate chaud - finger sandwiches (not a direct translation) and hot chocolate. This place is certainly known for their hot chocolate, and damn, the reputation is worth it! Easily the best i've ever had, and it was thick, with a masterful flavor. the chantilly cream added a touch of creaminess, and that in and of itself was worthy of a spoon, which...yes, that happened, because they gave us so much. Absolutely fantastic. The finger sandwiches were fantastic as well! Very small, don't expect something huge. The quality, though, was magnificent! We had the tomato, chicken, and ham offerings. Bread was soft, butter was fantastic, and overall, the flavor was top notch for all of these. Honestly, if we hadn't had dinner, we probably would've stopped here for more. We did stop into another Carette on the other side of Paris, and that time, again, we had the finger sandwiches. But this time, i had a coffee, which was delicious as well. This place is hard to go wrong, and despite having only a couple of offerings, the rest of the food we saw moving around looked absolutely amazing. This is a must-try if you're in Paris!

Yelp
If ever in Paris, this is a must!! Such a beautiful ambiance and gives you that real feel of im in an amazing cafe in Paris! Just a heads up there was a line out the door! We were able to get in faster because of our party size! You must order the hot chocolate with whip cream! It is one of their famous items people come all over to try! The food and drinks came out very fast as well! The sandwiches were very fresh and their eggs with croissant were a good choice to order! Looking forward to coming back here!

Yelp
There was a line for about fifteen minutes at lunch time. We enjoyed our beverages. There was some confusion on our food, but everyone ate and was happy. The location is fantastic.

Yelp
The service was really disappointing. The waitress rolled her eyes and slammed the menus on the table, and so we felt really unwelcomed. That said, I wouldn't call this place a total tourist trap, but it's definitely very touristy. The hot chocolate is rich and thick, and the cream is delicious, especially when you dip a croissant into it. It's located near the Eiffel Tower, and there was no wait at 8 AM.

Yelp
Thank you Yelpers! All the credit goes to you for writing your glowing reviews of Carette. I endorse every suggestion to come here for the hot chocolate. The following is a long story and you can skip it by jumping to the stars *** I was jetlagged, my first morning in Paris (technically, Boulogne), and up from 3:30 AM I assumed I'd just kill time in my neighborhood until my train to the South. But then randomly I saw the reviews for this place. I liked the sound of "Trocadéro" in a French accent in my head, so I decided it was worth getting outside early to be one of the first customers. I've proven incapable of navigating the metro and have managed to get lost countless times since landing less than a day ago, but I was caught by surprise by the view of the Eiffel Tower from this roundabout where the cafe sits! Also; so many people dressed in berets getting professional photography at this place, I felt a little silly. But then you see that then place was founded in 1927. It's an institution. Their prices for the cakes are still market rate. And it felt like a good place to be. If you're gonna be jet lagged, might as well use it to your advantage and get one of the best spots on the terrace but just under the awning so you get the heat lamps. *** I got the brunch because I wanted eggs with my varieties of bread. It was 40 euro and I'm pretty sure it could be split between two people if you wanted. But I still ate it all :) You can ask for the iconic whipped cream for an extra 3.50 euro but I noticed so many people were leaving their goblets barely touched and it felt like a waste, so I forewent the indulgence. The hot chocolate is stand-alone good as is. Don't feel FOMO. The croissant came out fresh and flaky. The jam was delicious. The service was professional and friendly. I had a great time! ***

Yelp
Holy hot chocolate. It's rich, but completely worth it. And receiving a huge bowl of whipped cream made my inner child squeal with glee. You really can't miss this. We were afraid that the wait was going to be too long since people were filling the outdoor seating to look at the Eiffel Tower light show, but since it was chilly we wanted to sit inside. They promised that it would only be a few minutes, someone grabbed us and took us to our table. The interior was a little cramped like most cafes are, but it was totally manageable. Each had a Parisein Duo sandwhich, which was good. I recommend getting the side of small potatoes. They made the dish. Wine was very reasonably priced. Service was attentive. Seven took home some Desserts with you. All on, a great night!

Yelp
While in Paris, I was on a mission to visit the infamous Carette. Given all the hype, I braced myself for potential disappointment--but to my surprise, it lived up to expectations. Carette is more than just its famous hot chocolate and croissants; they also serve a variety of breakfast options. I ordered the hot chocolate, a chocolate croissant, and a bacon quiche with a side of greens--everything was absolutely delicious, and I left feeling full and satisfied. What to Expect: *Be prepared for a long line in the morning, though it moves relatively quickly. My friend and I waited about 20 minutes before being seated. *Tight seating--you'll feel like you're dining with the table next to you. This place is all about fast turnover, so they move people in and out quickly. *Service is rushed, which can lead to mishaps. Unfortunately, a waitress spilled (thankfully cold) hot chocolate down my friend's back and onto a pink jacket at the next table. While they did assist with cleanup and offered dry cleaning, that's not very helpful for tourists. Surprisingly, neither table was comped for the inconvenience. Final Thoughts: While the food is undeniably great, Carette could improve its customer care and attention to detail. The seating arrangement is uncomfortably cramped, making accidents like this more likely. At the end of the day, this place feels like a money grab--fantastic food, but not necessarily the best dining experience

Yelp
The hype was real and this place lived up to the expectations!!! The wait wasn't really bad as many have suggested. Maybe because of the season being cold and we wanting to sit outside for the pictures we got to go in front of others. The coffee all of it was really good and the chocolate carette was amazing. Got to come twice to try different things and everything was great. Last thing word of caution the service best way I can describe is different, but after a few days in Paris we got to learn and accept the culture is different. Not bad, but you have to adjust.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant inside & out. I had so much fun going in person after seeing this place all over tik tok. The food was yummy, but the favorite of the meal was 1000% the hot chocolate. You MUST try it.
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Many consider Carette to be the proverbial tourist trap -- highly instagrammable yet both overpriced and overrated. I disagree, based on our recent experience. Their hot chocolate is the real star; truly delicious, both rich and decadent. When paired with their exceptionally light, fluffy, and smooth whipped cream, the whole experience is elevated even further. While we didn't try their amazing looking pastries, their crepe, quiche, and "pain au chocolat" were all excellent. We spent 124 Euros for a light breakfast for 4. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Always worth the hype. The hot chocolate has been earth shattering to me ever since 2022 when I first had it. It's the kind that makes you crave a European hot chocolate when you're at home. Macarons are also thumbs up! I think one time back during my first trip, they saw me carry a Laduree bag and looked at it in disgust and said "ours are better". Two years later, I'm still not sure about that, but one thing that's taught me is that there *are* better macarons than Laduree and Pierre Herme. So give them a try! We waited about 20 minutes around 7pm but got seated earlier since we're New Yorkers and don't mind the cold. Service was speedy!

Yelp
We came here after watching the sunset and taking pics of the Eifel Tower from Trocadero. As expected, per the reviews we read, this place did not disappoint. I believe i found the best hot chocolate here with the flavor perfection i could not believe and having the perfect texture! It def paired well with the croissant. Hubby ordered an omelette which he mentioned was delightful. This get packed as well as it is in front of the Trocadero, so it gets the traffic. We sat outside which was perfect, we were able to people watch and just enjoy the morning. There is a display of a variety of pastries inside which we didn't get to try as we were so full but this will is already bookmarked for the next trip!

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! The most delicious hot chocolate ever... and I paired it with a pan chocolat. It was a sweet and yummy breakfast with a view. Tables are extra tight here but people want to get a hot chocolate so it's not surprising! Service was fine, they were quite busy!
google avatar

Yelp
I went early morning on a weekday with no wait! Place was empty and was easy to get a seat. I ordered a pain au chocolate, orange juice, scrambled eggs, and their famous hot chocolate with cream! The hot chocolate was rich, decadent, and delicious paired with the cream. Their eggs were soft, creamy, and buttery in taste. Orange juice tasted freshly squeezed while the pain au chocolate was just okay. Overall would definitely come back for their hot chocolate!
google avatar

Yelp
I visited here while I was in Paris and I must say delicious. I know it's a lot of hype around it on social media and it definitely lives up to it. It was a beautiful day and we arrived early enough to get a table outside to enjoy and people watch. The ambiance was good and the food delicious. The hot chocolate was a fav and the whip cream was delicious. Everytime I'm in Paris this will definitely be a must!

Yelp
Carette really was that girl for our Paris trip. Wandering around one evening looking for a warm beverage so we stumbled into Carette and had some of the richest most decadent hot chocolate and crepes ever. Like you really can't beat it. Our waiter was was so nice to us and patient with the menu. We all ordered the hot chocolate and got an assortment of crepes and everything was delicious. We sat outside also and you can see the Eiffel Tower. If you're close by you have to pop in here!
google avatar

Yelp
A friend recommended this place. My husband and I came here after seeing the Eiffel Tower. There seems to always be a long line halfway down the block. I commend the host and hostess for trying to get groups seated efficiently even in pouring rain. It's definitely crowded with little space but the hot chocolate and pastries are worth the wait. I've never had such rich hot chocolate before. It's definitely a must when in Paris. I really liked my husbands crepe with strawberries !
google avatar

Yelp
Was very excited to try this iconic spot near the Trocadéro, and was not disappointed. Carette is a picturesque patisserie with delicious pastries and hot chocolate that has people lining around the block! We came here on a weekday afternoon and were lucky to be seated almost immediately, and service was friendly. Inside is very quaint and has the feeling of a classic French cafe. There is also an outside patio, that has a view of the Eiffel tower. The hot chocolate was very delicious - rich in flavor and creamy! I also love that it was served in metal tea pots and with the signature excess of whip cream on the side to add in. We also ordered the petit pastries which came with two small random pastries that were great to pair with the hot chocolate. It may be considered a "tourist trap" and is a bit on the pricey side in comparison to other patisseries, but overall I was glad I tried this popular place!
google avatar

LesLee V.

Yelp
A must when in Paris! This location has a million dollar view of the Eiffel tower while sipping the most delicious chocolate milk you'll ever taste. The croissant was the best version we tasted in Paris. Sooo buttery, flaky on the outside but moist on the inside. If only the lines are not too long I would have eaten here everyday. They are probably the busiest cafe in Paris but their service is straightforward. Order what you like and when you're done you have to call them. The waiters will not come to you after they serve you your order so be prepared to let them know everything you need when they approach you.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was honestly not worth the hype in my opinion -- high prices and mediocre food but what you do get is the lovely Parisian ambiance steps away from Trocadero Square. We came here for an early-ish dinner during our visit to Paris so we could see the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night afterwards. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but there was no wait for outdoor seating so we opted for that given the lovely weather. We ordered the poulet club sandwiches plus the veggie soup. The soup was pretty standard, and the sandwiches were cute and quite delicious but definitely quite pricey for what you get. Overall this definitely wasn't a top dining experience for me while in Paris, but maybe we should have tried their hot chocolate...
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
I was so excited to visit the Carette in Trocadero based on all the online buzz , but was unfortunately disappointed. First off, the prices are beyond reason.. I get that it is a touristy iconic place, but 19 Euros for an Aperol Spritz is actually insane. The crepes and food are also on the higher end of prices, but I went with it for the location and high expectations. Sadly, the prices did not meet the quality of the food, the crepes were edging on the uncooked with the tinies amount of toppings/ fillings. There are so many better options in Paris. Go somewhere else!
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
The hot chocolate is what they are known for. It is very rich but delicious. Their desserts are average. There is always a queue so expect a wait. Just a short walk from Trocadero.
google avatar

Karisa A.

Yelp
A bit overhyped - I'd return solely for the hot chocolate! Arrival: My friend and I arrived around 8 am on a Sunday for breakfast before exploring the Trocadéro/Eiffel Tower. We waited in a short line for about 5-10 minutes before being seated outside. Definitely come early; it's not worth a long wait! Food: I ordered the brunch special, which included hot chocolate, orange juice, pain au chocolat, toast/jam, and scrambled eggs with cheese and chives. I found 38€ reasonable for the amount of food, especially since it could be shared. The food itself was mid. The eggs were cold and underseasoned, but I enjoyed the hot chocolate with fresh whipped cream. It wasn't too thick but very sweet, as expected. The fresh orange juice was perfectly tart! Service: We felt rushed and had difficulty finding a waiter to ask for water. The high table turnover is understandable due to demand, but it's not the place to linger/chat as you sip and snack! TL;DR - I enjoyed the hot chocolate and orange juice, but wouldn't wait in a long line for it. If I return, I'll skip the food and just order drinks. Arrive early to be seated quickly!

Yelp
We had to visit Carette again. It was literally 1/2 a block from our hotel. It was right across the Eiffel Tower. There was a small queue while we waited around two in the afternoon. We opted to be seated inside, but it was quite loud I expected. But the service was great. The service were very attentive. We were given water at the end per our request. The lovely server was very appreciative as we paid the bill and left her a tip. They were very friendly and the most courteous staff, including the management. We can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Chris P. B.

Yelp
Busy cafe not far from the Eiffel tower, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Well staffed but service can be slow at times as they really do get busy. Come here for the hot chocolate (which they're social media famous for), and the decent macarons and crepes. The rest of the food (at least as far as we tried) was honestly not very good. The soupe d'oignon is better at either of the neighboring restaurants next door. Tasted not as fresh, both in terms of the broth and the cheese. Their veggie soup was bland as well. Just felt like the savory food isn't made with love or care, but just pumped out. Generally pricey menu. Yes it's in a touristy area, but either restaurant next door offers pretty much the same food options for half the price. If we were to return, I'd only really get the hot chocolate, as it tastes top notch and is an experience.
google avatar

Marina C.

Yelp
The lines are long, but it's because people are going in for the authentic Parisian cafe / people-watching vibe. The best thing here is actually their kouign amann. I would recommend skipping the line for indoor dining, walking in an ordering a KA to go, and walking around the city. Their hot chocolate is good but VERY rich and sweet. The mound of whipped cream is delicious but a lot and most people end up wasting it because they can't finish that much.
google avatar

Marina W.

Yelp
One of the best croissants I've had in my life. Great food and it's in such a cute spot with the trees and the chairs. It is super hyped up by tik tok but it's worth it. The hot chocolate for one person would be enough for two people as it was a lot! It wasn't too sweet which was perfect and the cream melted in my mouth. My friend purchased another croissant after finishing hers! So good. The staff is also super kind and they let us leave our suitcases in the back while we ate. the line was wrapped around the street and it looked super long but it moves fast, trust me! I waited around 20 minutes but it flew by. The service was quick as well without making me feel rushed to leave
google avatar

Analeine V.

Yelp
What a good spot to try if this is your first time in Paris! They offer a pretty big menu and they have soooo many options for everyone. The server was so nice and quick! The service itself was so fast too from when ordering and getting your food and drinks. The ambiance is so cute and it's actually a pretty big cafe it's just really busy all the time. Make sure if you come; you have patience to wait in the big lines! I would totally come back and try some more items. I had the baguette and it was fresh and crispy and loved it! Come try it out!
google avatar

Hunter S.

Yelp
This place lives up to the hype! Very busy, so be prepared for some prompt service and potentially a wait time. No reservations that I am aware of, so be patient as it's worth the wait. We got the croissant, a few macaroons and of course the famous hot chocolate! As a person who doesn't love chocolate, this was absolutely incredible. The chocolate is so dense and rich, yet not overwhelming at the same time. Pair that with the REAL whipped crème and you've got a masterpiece. Very cute, upscale and regal place for a coffee! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Linda E.

Yelp
I came here at the behest of a tik tok which promised to transport me to my coquette era. It did! This spot is nothing but tourist but it has all the Parisian feels. I ordered the hot chocolate, latte, club sandwich, flan & croissants. It was all delicious and this place gets my vote for best hot chocolate. I've added this place to my Paris must go spots! There is a long line that forms but it goes by fast. I waited about 30 minutes. There were a lot of pastries I wanted to try so I'll definitely be back!

C R.

Yelp
Oooh La La! Excellent French onion soup! The fries and French ham sandwich are always a must upon arrival in Paris. This is the place for traditional French cafe food and more.
google avatar

Gavin C.

Yelp
Stopped by here on the recommendation of a new friend in Paris. It was in a busy and mildly touristy area so we weren't expecting much. So let me tell you that the hot chocolate here will haunt me forever as one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life. It's not fair that it can only be had in a patisserie 5671 miles from my home. It warmed me and elevated my mood in ways that should be studied by science. I suspect that it could solve the mental health crisis unfolding all over the world. We tried the hot chocolate in several other places in Paris prior to leaving, and all were good. But this was the best. Everything we had here was good by the way. But the chocolate is the star of the show. Go for that. Just know that you will be thinking about it forever.
google avatar

Samantha R.

Yelp
I always end up ordering the carette salad. It's honestly so delicious every single time. I do get the iconic hot chocolate and cream each time too. Which honestly is a lot. You can alwayssss share an order of whipped cream with two or three people for your hot chocolates. The service is typical for a packed restaurant in a tourist area, it's alright. They are usually very nice to me, but they tend to treat you how you treat them :) The ambiance is really nice outside if the weather permits. Lots of tables but typically there is a long line outside (that goes pretty quickly) to receive a table.
google avatar

Leilani G.

Yelp
I waited in line for 45 minutes to be seated and I have zero regrets. In fact, I would've waited longer if I had to because Carette was one of my favorite experiences while in Paris. When my friend and I were seated at a table, our server was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the famous Carette hot chocolate for two, crepes, and some of their macarons. When everything was brought to our table, our server placed everything so delicately, before pouring hot chocolate from the kettle into each of our teacups. It was picturesque, and such an exemplary level of service. Once I tried the hot chocolate, it was love at first sip. I had never in my life had a hot chocolate that was as creamy and delicious as this one. Then there's the whipped cream which was absolute perfection. The crepes and macarons were also delicious, but the true winner was the hot chocolate. If you plan to visit Carette, be prepared for a long line, but know that it's very much worth it! There is typically not a long line or wait for takeaway, you can walk right in and order at the counter in the back. I returned the following day to order a hot chocolate with whipped cream for my stroll around Paris and it was just as delicious as the dine-in one. I would highly recommend adding Carette to your Paris itinerary, you might end up like me and be back again within 24 hours!

Yelp
The hype is real! This place isn't just a tourist trap close to the Eiffel Tower. This is hands down the best hot chocolate I've ever had. It's properly sweet and actually tastes like chocolate. Very delicious! The servers were very friendly and attentive. You can get takeaway or relax in a casual comfy setting.

Yelp
My daughter and I had a very nice dinner there with great service. The best part of the night was we accidentally left our bag full of souvenirs behind and headed back to the hotel. We ended up going back to the restaurant and our server had taken the bag and put it with the manager. Thank you so much to the young lady that was our server for saving our souvenirs!

Yelp
Ok, coming to this place for hot chocolate was my wife's idea. Although it was a really decent cup of hot chocolate, the price is really about the location, the view, and I guess the tik tok worthiness of the drink itself which you will finds tons of people shooting video. I will also say that my wife romanticize this place as it happens to be one of her favorite spots which she recommends to all our friends as well. I didn't look at the food menu until but based on what I heard from the waiters trying to draw people in this place is essentially catering towards the tourists by offering a variety of cuisine like pizza, pasta, and some traditional French dishes that you find in most cafes.

Yelp
Love love love this place Love it so much, I went twice in under a week. I was in the city for only 4 days and allocated two meals here. That's commitment. I kicked off day 1 here by meeting my friend for a quick bite. All I did was drop off my luggage at my airbnb then went straight here. My friend was already in line so the wait was fairly quick. I do have to say that I have to commend how quick that line goes. Their staff are on it. We got seated right out front, with a full view of the Eiffel tower. We placed our order with a lovely lady who we later found out speaks not only french and English, but also Arabic. She was so nice to us. Two days later, I dropped in with another friend. But this time we biked from our airbnb to the location by the Louvre. We worked up an appetite which resulted in me going hard by ordering so much food. The hot chocolate is obviously the highlight for everyone, but for me it was the eggs. My god they just do it better here. Impeccable service. The folks at both locations I visited were friendly and nice.

Yelp
Thee best hot chocolate I've ever had!! This place is worth all the hype. So rich and creamy and chocolaty... Yumm! It's such a cute place too not far from the Eiffel Tower and other main attractions. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive - so wonderful. We will be back again before we leave Paris!!

Yelp
WOW! A Paris favorite that is 100% worth the hype. If you like chocolate/hot chocolate, Carette is definitely worth a stop. I will say that it's a little pricey, but Paris is an expensive city and Carette is popular for a reason. We got the hot chocolate, the chantilly, and a croissant each to dip. It was a GREAT breakfast and a great way to start off the day as a tourist. I don't really think anything else on the menu is worth it besides the hot chocolate.

Yelp
Definitely an Instagram worthy spot Just by the presentation and traditional French ambience Sitting outs was definitely worth it There is a sweet spot when it comes to time not to hit a line but if there is a line it moves fast and they are very quick with service A lot different then traditional service at other places Customer service was 50/50 the person who sat me extremely nice My server seemed not to be as chipper more so annoyed at being a server But the server who took over for him was extremely friendly and kind Prices are high but ur paying for the name In all if ur into posting pictures this is the place for u

Yelp
I've heard and so many videos about this place and wanted to check it out. Came here really early before my flight back home. Was seated right away. The service was okay, I felt like either my server had too many tables or he didn't want to be there. I ordered breakfast with eggs and cheese, croissant, potato, fresh squeezed orange juice, and their famous hot chocolate along with their whipped cream. The hype for the hot chocolate was for real, the food was okay. I felt like I waisted a lot of food. I will say their pastries were on point...overpriced but on point. My biggest complaint is the price. Everything was way over priced but I guess given their popularity, they can charge what they want to charge and people will pay for it.

Yelp
Based on a recommendation from a friend (plus aided by various Instagram videos) I came to Carette to jumpstart my first day in Paris. I came early on a Saturday morning at about 8:30am. There was no line and I was seated right away. I ordered the Carette hot chocolate with the chantilly cream as well as a plain croissant. It came quite fast! Probably about 5 minutes after I ordered. The waiter poured the hot chocolate from the jug into my cup for me before setting it on the table. I immediately dug in! The hot chocolate was thick but not too thick, still very much drinkable. It was rich, sweet, and very delicious! The croissant was flaky and yummy! It wasn't necessarily the best croissant I've had but it was good. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and the staff was very kind. Overall, I had a really great experience! The food is a bit pricey but I do think it's paying for a certain experience and I honestly enjoyed what I got. Do recommend!

Yelp
A TikTok find that didn't disappoint!!! There was a long line to get in but it moved pretty quickly. We weren't able to get a seat outside but the inside was cute too. I ordered the hot chocolate and a croissant and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I'm not normally a huge hot chocolate fan but this was perfection! The hot chocolate on its own was really good but something about the whipped cream mixed in with the hot chocolate that just made it even better. And dipping the croissant in it was chefs kiss! Honestly, I'd only come here for the hot chocolate and pastries. Don't plan on eating here because it is quite pricey. For example, plain scrambled eggs were 16€. However, the views and proximity to the Eiffel Tower lookout point is ideal and it's the perfect morning run before you start the day. I'm honestly still craving this hot chocolate so 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
This place has no shortage of TikTok fandom, and I'm so glad I was able to dine here. My friend and I came around 11 AM on a weekday, and there was already a pretty long line! I'd say we waited maybe about 20 minutes or so, which isn't too bad. Carette is such a cute cafe with TONS of options when it comes to food. I was seriously overwhelmed with what I should get because everything sounds so good. I ended up getting a coffee, as well as the club sandwich, which comes in a finger sandwich format and is plated so thoughtfully. I got the Parisien "Duo" which I thought was flavorful yet light. We ended our meal with the Mont Blanc and mini raspberry tarts -- such a delicious and decadent way to end the meal!

Yelp
If you like dark chocolate you will love the hot chocolate. I don't, so I didn't. Whipped cream was good though and waiter was kind. Overall wouldn't return, but it was a decent stop on a chilly night.

Yelp
Extremely long line to get seated that went pretty quick. We ordered the hot chocolate with the whipping cream, and French onion soup. Both items were excellent. Service was exceptionally quick as they were getting people in and out to turn those table around. This place is killing it. Tik tok raved about this place and we were skeptical. We would do it again when we return to Paris. The only negative was they crammed the tables so close together, I kept getting bumped with the other customers passing by as well as the wait staff. The whole experience felt rushed and stressful but as far as the product, they nailed it. The wait staff was hustling and working hard, the longest wait was the line to get in. It was a cute cafe, but busy and hectic. Don't check it out to relax, just go for the hot chocolate and carry on with your itinerary.
