I had the jerk chicken meal. The chicken was amazing. The rice was ok. Cabbage was cooked right but didn’t have any flavor. Sorrel drink was amazing. Ginger drink was good too. And customer service was great. I will be back soon.

I’m sick I didn’t read reviews. Every one star review was spot on. This food was bland. Literally taste like air… Caribbean who? I wouldn’t even give this to a dog. Someone ordered it for me. I am going out of my way to dispute it from their doordash acct and I’m prepared to take the food back as well. I didn’t throw it away because My trash bin is more worthy of this bland trash. $35 after tip and other taxes and fees. I’m wounded and feel robbed

The service was good from when we came in ordered our food and the food was good but floor service should be better my son had chicken and waffles it was dried out both chicken and waffle do better please when you want us to support each other.

Placed my order and in about 15 minutes I got some delicious food, it was made fresh and definitely enjoyed. I will be returning 🤗 Good authentic jamaican food for the buck!

Fortunately I have moved around the corner from this establishment. Which means I can come more often. Let's just say everything is great. I have lived in both Jamaica and St.Thomas USVI and this place always seems to stir up good food memories. Staff friendly and on point.

I think that is a different family working in the C Caribbean kitchen on 6 mile now because the rice and peas would always be fluffy and delicious and Gravy you could have sold it it was so good the oxtails are not good anymore. Today was a take pick up And I was So disappointment? ! I ordered from DoorDash on Another occasion and A oxtail dinner with extra gravy !!! it Had curry Chicken gravy and hot pepper 🌶️ on my Oxtails all I could taste is curry and Hot 🥵 this is four (4) bad dinners in 6 months 🤦🏽‍♀️. But they are very nice people but the food is not right hot. 🥵

Stopped here as we were passing through. Pls, the oxtail plate was heavenly. Absolutely fall off the bone tender and the rice and beans just complements it so well. Same goes for the curry goat, ugh they made it RIGHT. Absolutely loved the patties too. If I lived in Detroit, I’d be a regular for sure. This is takeout only I think! There’re 2 tables set up in the creepy end of the hall that you order but it was too spooky so we just ate in the car lol

I must say, I can make better tasing oxtails! It was just way too hot outdoors to cook or grill anything. After contemplating my last visit, I somehow ended up here again today; however I'm done with this place, after visiting today. Again, and needless to say, I said this last time--which was approx. six months ago. I've been patronizing for over 30 years and today for sure was my last time. Cabbage was horrible---watered down and soggy. Oxtails had no carrots nor any other veggie nor herbs (quite bland). My beans and rice were mushy... possibly converted rice. After spending $28, yeah right... people work too hard for their earnings! Y'all ought to be ashamed to push those dinners through. Recipe has definitely changed over the years for the worst. 2 decent-sized flat pieces of oxtails and a few tiny oxtails pieces, 2 jerk thighs and the rest. Plantains were so tiny! I truly hate to complain and put y'all on blast, but I expect better from a "black-owned" business. We must do better!!!

I'm trying to figure out why there is now an additional $9.99 delivery fee on top of the $9.99 I already pay for Door dash delivery to order from this restaurant. Let me go ahead and remove this restaurant from my favorite's because it will be a cold day in hell the day I pay an additional $9.99 for delivery on top of the $9.99 I already pay plus a tip.

The rice is smothered in gravy. It's mush rice with gravy. The vegetables were over cooked cabbage with mixed. The meat seems well done in and out. Even with ask the gravy slathered on, it was dry. Please do better by your patrons. As a food critic you have room for improvement. Side note: When a person asks to see their food first don't look dismayed. Show them and stop tying the food up in a knot. It would be nice to show people their food prior to handing it over. It builds confidence for the patron and you the staff in the food being served.

I was recommended to come here since Caribbean food is my ultimate favorite. So I walk in and it's a narrow walkway to the counter. The menu is posted there in the window. There is no sitting area. I placed my order and waited maybe 15 minutes max. So not bad at all. All hands were on deck behind the counter because they were getting so much foot traffic and pick up orders! I tried the food in my car before pulling off! Let me tell you.....This food did not disappoint! I was so excited to get where I was going to finish my meal. The cabbage could definitely use some seasoning though, some black pepper or salt, just something. Bland Cabbage is bland. Otherwise, Go ahead and add me to the LOYAL CUSTOMER list, cus I'll be back

Jerk, chicken, rice and beans, yams, and greens. The food is always on point. Enough food to come back for seconds. Love it!!

Unfortunately who I was told was the owner of this establishment is RUDE not the expected Jamaican Restaurant rude but, placed disgusting food because of whatever reason rude. Unacceptable and I'll never be back. I had CONSECUTIVE great experiences back to back for years and she ran up front and tossed literall trash in my box and placed it in my bag. Although they have remodeled she needs to fix her disposition. The ambiance means nothing when things like this happen. I understand that it's a regular occurrence. Too bad, they have good food. I won't return, ever.

Today we ordered Door Dash for lunch. I got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, red beans and rice and plantains with a Pineapple Jamaican Soda to wash it down with. The chicken ( which I chose was all dark meat) 3 legs was seasoned perfectly, moist and delicious. You have a choice of white, dark or mixed chicken pieces. The red beans and rice was flavorful. I had enough gravy for the rice and meat. Plantains were sweet and accompanied the dish perfectly. I almost forgot I also had cabbage also which was delicious. Give them a try.

My oxtail dinner was BLAND AF. Paid for extra oxtail gravy and there wasnt ANY gravy on my food. For $20 they were definitely stingy with the oxtail. I was also given partially frozen beef patties ‍. This was my 1st time there. I would try again, but definitely wouldnt get a dinner ( actually wanted a curry goat roti but they were out of Roti skin). The fried dumplings were good. This restaurant wouldn't survive in NYC or Toronto...IJS

Oxtails is my go to, never disappoint. Pocket friendly and the meal will fill you. The staff are nice i've never had an issue. Not much of a restaurant to sit and dine more of a pick up and go.

I don't know what kind of chicken this is, but it's not Jerk chicken. It's a baked and sauced/gravy not sure but it's not good at all. The rice and beans are over cooked , mushy and bland, the cabbage is meh. Overall save your time and money. Nothing has season on it. I received this through Uber eats so I can't speak on the service. Nor the ambiance. If you want good Jerk Chicken/ Caribbean food , try K.G's African American grill in Garden city mi thank me later.

This food has no taste it is horrible they chop the oxtails in half the rice was dry an over cooked the chicken did not taste like Jerk it taste like plain baked chicken even the salad was terrible an then red snapper tast real fishy an no seasoning on it the cabbage was blan no taste I FIRMLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO NEVER GO THERE EVER AN I SPENT $100 on Bullshit ‍

I can tell that they mix oxtails with beef neck bones. I can cook my beef neck bones to taste like oxtails, so i know the difference. They need to stop selling oxtail dinners be honest with your customers.

Oxtail were OK but the cabbage needs carrots and more flavor. Very kind staff and professional. It's not terrible but it'll do. Maybe there is another cook....it did not taste the same as before

Incredibly delicious food! My meal from Caribbean Citchen was the best homemade takeout meal I've ever had. I ordered oxtail with collards and candied yams as side dishes. Each item was fresh, well-seasoned and rather light. Most soul or Southern food restaurants tend to make these items heavy with rich butter, oils and seasonings. These were very flavorful without the heaviness. I literally gobbled up this dish! Though I ordered my meal items ala cart, it was moderately priced in its entirety. I also ordered a Jamaican soda, which I plan to drink later. I'm very impressed. I will certainly order often and spread the word about the deliciousness of Caribbean Citchen.

So much flavor and love was put into my food today. Everything was perfect from the jerk chicken to the cabbage. I walked into this place not expecting too much. This place now has a loyal customer as I will be returning frequently!

They say dinners comes with 2 sides but in actuality it's 1 side with rice and bean. If you order 2 sides the second side will cost extra. Bad Business

This was my first time visiting this restaurant yesterday. After much anticipation, and just reading all of the great reviews from friends and on Yelp. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for two years now. I'm going to start off with the food was really good! I ordered the small portion of jerk chicken, and I had no complaints. The small portion was very filling. The wait time was short, which I could appreciate. And I was surprised, seeming I've read that the wait time could be a pain. So I was excited that I didn't have to wait long. However, I was disappointed Bc I tried to order beef patties and rotis skin, in which they were out of both. In talking to friends, I was told that I have to go to the restaurant earlier in the day to order food, as they often run out early. I went there around 5 pm. So overall, good food. Just disappointed about them not having everything that I wanted, especially b/c I had driven about 50 minutes to try this restaurant. My friends and I actually ended up driving to another restaurant, Jamaica Jamaica (which wasn't too far), to order the beef patties, and other food.

It hurts me a little bit to write this review, because I love to support Black businesses, and I really wanted to like this place, which I did for the most part. I got the vegetarian platter with yams, mixed veggies and rice and peas. The rice and peas and yams tasted amazing. However, the mixed veggies were completely disappointing. I thought the veggies would be fresh and sautéed or marinated of some kind, but they were literally frozen vegetables that you could get from Walmart. That was so disappointing and I couldn't even eat them. Please, y'all do better!

Food was somewhat good!. I ordered a large oxtail dinner with cabbage and greens as a substitute.. didn't want the rice and beans just the veggies. Well i was charged extra for the greens and still received the rice and beans. Ok fine... the cabbage which is $2.50 more is not good! Soft mushy and no flavor. A large oxtail dinner had only 6 in it and it was barely any meat on it.. so my question is now how many of them are in the small? $60 meal for 2 large oxtail dinners was not worth the price. Everything was still good except the cabbage! Wasn't worth it and for sure ain't worth an additional charge

Prices are very reasonable. Customer service is ok. Sometime you get this older lady and she is very dry with customers .

A lot of people will see the food they get from here and worry immediately. The box will be overflowing with sauce. Expect bones and gristle. If you are looking for the real thing, look no further. This place is authentic and the rich culinary tradition of Jamaica cuts through the styrofoam. I love the cabbage and the oxtails the best, but I order curry goat here more frequently. It's hard to find fresh but their consistent volume makes this easy. My mom recommends the snapper! If this was not the era of distanced dine in, I would suggest a four-star rating because the dine in experience is not great. It's a hole in the wall. It follows, the food is amazing. Edit: "we outside" again so I had to drop 'em down to four so that users continue to trust my reviews. Also, my friends have recently complained about consistency.

I had a taste for soul food but I didn't want fried chicken. I was in the area and wanted to try something different. The small jerk chicken dinner was the perfect size for me. The greens were the best I've ever had. The yams were ok. The jerk is super spicy. I wish they had baked Mac and cheese

Usually this place is really on point but lately it hasn't been worth my drive from ypsilanti. I ordered a oxtail dinner I received 4 bones and a huge amount of rice. I try them again today i order large curry goat and small rice i get a huge container of bland rice and my goat with gravy not curry. Waste of 28$ + Gas

I love this place. Whenever I'm working in the area I pop in for some curry chicken. Sometimes they have roti. It's the only Jamaican place that hits the spot for me like the places in GTA. They have a really good Ackee & Saltfish on Fridays and Sundays. I'm so thankful they're here! They're my diamond in the rough

I ordered jerk wings, cabbage, plantains and red beans and rice. Rice and the beans were kind of starchy. The cabbage was flavored and cooked well. I only got 2 plantains when I asked if I could substitute the rice and beans for more plantains. Otp they advised that was fine, when I went to get my order they said it couldn't be done and that they were all out. I felt the jerk sauce was a little heavy on the wings. I would give it 7 out of 10. It's not bad but then again it could've been an off day. I would try it again to see if the service and food taste different next time.

The red snipper was excellent! Never had Jamaican food before but the rice and beans and cabbage were well seasoned and the plantains was good. The Parking lot is small but you can call on your order. Everything was well priced and the portions were big.

So I kind of just stumbled upon this restaurant. A client told me about it on the way of dropping her off. The chicken was perfectly spiced and falling off the bones, the beans and rice along with the greens were a perfect side dish. I would highly recommend this place if ever in area. Not the most safest place to be after dark but highly would recommend it for lunch.

Horrible customer service. I called and asked the employees to explain a dish on the menu and they proceeded to say " I don't have time to explain nothing to her you explain" and proceeded to give another employee the phone. Definitely will never support this business again

The customer service is terrible. I called to ask for cabbage after the door dash app wouldn't allow me to specify my vegetable choice and was told, No! They were not willing to make any changes. The woman hung up on me twice and finally said to me "yea, I hung up. What didn't u understand? We're not changing it! your getting mixed vegetables" then hung up again. When I called back and asked to speak to a manager she hung up on me again. Now I'm stuck with food I don't want. also, the oxtails are extremely small. SavannahBlue's oxtails are 10 times better. I'm done with this place!!!

I received this hateful message on Instagram. I called the owner to see if it actually came from them and apparently someone is out to defame their business. Not only is this terrible person sending horrible messages to people, they are attacking this business. I hope anyone else who got a message like mine sees this comment. I encourage you to call the place directly if you have concerns that it is a racist establishment. The owner was very nice when I spoke with her.

Fir the second day in a row I had a taste for Jamaican good so I ordered curry chicken with greens , rice and beans . The food was good the place was clean and the staff was courteous, I will be back .

Pepper steak and rice be slapping on Sunday's.. it's freaky awesome and tender the meat is af! Go ahead and Stand in that long line or call in your order it's with every penny! Oh yeah don't forget the yams are delicious as well.. the greens isn't like grandma greens but it'll do.

Yup! This is it! Great flavor and portions. The staff is friendly and nice. Rosemary is the best. This restaurant has been here for years.This is my first time coming here. The oxtails were tender with some great gravy, jerk chicken had the right amount of spice, cabbage and rice were great as well. Beef patty had the right amount of flacked crust and spice. On a Sunday afternoon the parking lot was packed. Service was speedy and on point. This is more of a take out spot even though u have a very small eating area. You can tell folks were in there waiting for a very special meal. Everyone was all smiles , with conversation, and laughter lol this place is special.

Stopped in for a weekday lunch to go. Goat Curry was recommended and wouldn't take long. Did I say they were quick? I am always hesitant to try Carribean/African places because of the 25 min+ wait for carryout. Pleasant people behind the typical bullet proof glass. Lots of folks coming to order and leave. Several tables for eat in. Goat Curry was delicious, along with braised cabbage, rice with a few red beans and a plantain garnish. I'll be back just based on the quickness alone!

This dish was very bland lacking any type of flavor. Unfortunately this just taste like regular chicken, cabbage and beans. There was barely any flavor. It almost taste as if it was prepared for a diabetic. I was very disappointed. I tried to pass the meal on to a family member since I didn't like it and no one else wanted it either after tasting it. I wasted my money smh
