A Lego-Themed Bar Will Open in Houston | Eater Houston

"I noted that Caribbean Jerk Palace, a small Chicago-born chain known for Jamaican cuisine, is opening its first restaurant outside Illinois later this year in the Third Ward at 3801 Emancipation Avenue. When it opens, diners can expect dishes like curry chicken, jerk catfish, turkey tips, jerk chicken wings, and sides such as rice and peas and plantains; no opening timeline has been announced." - Brittanie Shey

Gave this spot a little bit to catch up to the hype. The entire experience was great. Ox Tail egg rolls were full of meat and flavorful. The goat was outstanding! Tender, even in flavor with the right amount of kick. The greens with turkey meat were "Black Mama" quality. Rice and peas were a tad but dry. The jerk Lamb Chops were the star. Medium temp was correct and the jerk was not over the top. Mac and cheese had the required "cheese pull" as my grand daughter said. Our waitress was attentive and gave good recommendations.

Really friendly environment they checked on us the whole time our food came on time. Music was good. The rum punch was amazing. Definitely must try a red snapper and brown stew. Chicken tacos was really good along with the sauce just amazing. They have really good mac & cheese and the festival just make everything come together.

I recently tried the Caribbean Jerk Chicken spot, and overall the food was good, but I was expecting it to really blow me away—and it didn’t quite get there. I started with the salmon egg roll and the oxtail egg roll. The salmon one was delicious, but the oxtail one missed the mark for me. I also had a beef patty, which unfortunately wasn’t good. For mains, I ordered the catfish, sweet potatoes, and rice, plus oxtail with wings and the Rasta pasta. The flavors were definitely bold across the board. The pasta, though, was almost too flavorful—after just two bites, it had me feeling hot. To drink, I had an espresso martini, which was a nice touch. Overall, the food was flavorful and satisfying, but I was waiting for that one standout dish to really wow me—and it didn’t happen. Good experience, just not “out of this world.”

Food is good and the people there were friendly knowledgeable and helpful. It's beautiful outside and on a nice day they have plenty of outside seating. I only gave three starts because of the nats. We kept swatting them and the people there were assisting, but it was a lot. Felt like I was fighting for me food. I had the red snapper, sweet potatos, greens and Mac n cheese. Also tried the jerk chicken egg rolls. I enjoyed it all, except the nats.

10’s across the board, this is my new favorite Caribbean restaurant in Houston!!! Came here for a post church brunch after finding out about the restaurant through Instagram reels. I ordered the Salmon Fried Rice and my girl ordered the Curry Goat. Both entrees were amazing!!! Seasoned to perfection and flavorful. The sides didn’t disappoint either. We got the Yams, Rice & Peas, Plantains and all were really good. Pro tip - order the Festival and dip the bread in the Yam juice for an elite flavor combination. To top it off, the rum punch was refreshing and strong just how I like it. We had great service. Ellis made sure our first time experience was superior and lacked nothing. It was good chopping it up with him and we appreciated the great hospitality. Ambience of the restaurant was casual but a gem for Third Ward. Third Ward is my favorite place to be for Sunday fun day and now that I’ve found this place I’ll be here all day!

I had a fantastic experience dining here! The food was absolutely delicious-every thing was full of flavor. What truly stood out, though, was the customer service. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The manager Ellis personally stopped by our table to check in and engage in a friendly conversation.

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but unfortunately, the food fell far short of expectations. The jerk seasoning lacked authenticity—it tasted more like a generic Buffalo Wild Wings sauce rather than house-made Caribbean jerk. The oxtails were tiny for the price and completely drowned in sauce, making it hard to appreciate the meat. My pasta dish was underwhelming, with only about two bell peppers and a single slice of onion (yes, I counted). The chicken was decent, but the flavors were bland and forgettable. For the prices charged, I expected much bolder, well-balanced seasoning. On the positive side, the ambiance was nice—the DJ played great music at a volume that still allowed for conversation. The hosts were friendly, and service was attentive. However, when the manager came to our table *two minutes* after we were seated to apologize for the "wait on food," it was a major red flag. It felt like they knew the kitchen was struggling. Overall, this place has potential with its vibe and service, but the food needs serious improvement. I have faith that they will get better over time.

Google
What a find, easily earning my "Certified Mad Good" rating. I was in town and looking for something new in the Houston area. I thought that I had already tried the best Caribbean food in the area, but this spot is definitely right up there. The meal was so good that I even ordered some to take home after my meal. If in the area, definitely do yourself a favor and stop by.

Yelp
If I could leave ZERO STARS I would, I was told a wait time of 15 mins that ended up being 45 mins! While waiting she sat down a party of 5 and a party of 2 with a baby and I was checked in way before! I wish I could have at least tasted the food but with the service already shown ON TOP of A WAIT FOR MENUS!! Then she said A WAIT ON WATER, then we have to get a new waiter like I unfortunately don't have my whole Saturday to do so 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND and don't get me started on their parking....

Yelp
The food was amazing & so was the service. The ox tails and jerk chicken are so good. The jerk sauce is fire.
