A Lego-Themed Bar Will Open in Houston - Eater Houston

"Caribbean Jerk Palace, a small Chicago-born chain known for its Jamaican cuisine, is set to open its first restaurant outside of Illinois when it lands in Houston later this year. Located at 3801 Emancipation Avenue in the Third Ward, diners can expect dishes like curry chicken, jerk catfish, turkey tips, jerk chicken wings, and sides like rice and peas and plantains." - Brittanie Shey

10’s across the board, this is my new favorite Caribbean restaurant in Houston!!! Came here for a post church brunch after finding out about the restaurant through Instagram reels. I ordered the Salmon Fried Rice and my girl ordered the Curry Goat. Both entrees were amazing!!! Seasoned to perfection and flavorful. The sides didn’t disappoint either. We got the Yams, Rice & Peas, Plantains and all were really good. Pro tip - order the Festival and dip the bread in the Yam juice for an elite flavor combination. To top it off, the rum punch was refreshing and strong just how I like it. We had great service. Ellis made sure our first time experience was superior and lacked nothing. It was good chopping it up with him and we appreciated the great hospitality. Ambience of the restaurant was casual but a gem for Third Ward. Third Ward is my favorite place to be for Sunday fun day and now that I’ve found this place I’ll be here all day!

I really wanted to love this restaurant, but unfortunately, the food fell far short of expectations. The jerk seasoning lacked authenticity—it tasted more like a generic Buffalo Wild Wings sauce rather than house-made Caribbean jerk. The oxtails were tiny for the price and completely drowned in sauce, making it hard to appreciate the meat. My pasta dish was underwhelming, with only about two bell peppers and a single slice of onion (yes, I counted). The chicken was decent, but the flavors were bland and forgettable. For the prices charged, I expected much bolder, well-balanced seasoning. On the positive side, the ambiance was nice—the DJ played great music at a volume that still allowed for conversation. The hosts were friendly, and service was attentive. However, when the manager came to our table *two minutes* after we were seated to apologize for the "wait on food," it was a major red flag. It felt like they knew the kitchen was struggling. Overall, this place has potential with its vibe and service, but the food needs serious improvement. I have faith that they will get better over time.

What a find, easily earning my "Certified Mad Good" rating. I was in town and looking for something new in the Houston area. I thought that I had already tried the best Caribbean food in the area, but this spot is definitely right up there. The meal was so good that I even ordered some to take home after my meal. If in the area, definitely do yourself a favor and stop by.

Wow! This place is exceptional. The ambiance 10/10 the service 10/10. And the FOOD! My goodness the Garlic Lambchops are tender and flavorful. 10/10. A true must try! The MAC AND CHEESE IS THE BEST IN HOUSTON. HANDS DOWN 10/10! I had the Brown Stew Chicken and it has a kinda sweetness to the gravy so I have it a 7/10. My cabbage is full of flavor and still has a crisp to it. 10/10. Rice and peas of course is Great. I even ate the plantains and I normally do not. Oh and the Oxtail eggrolls are a 9/10. I had alot of fat in mine. My wife liked the Callaloo and I didn't care for it much. 5/10. The portions are big and plenty left over to go. If you want to feel a buzz get the Rum Punch 10/10.

The food is amazingly delicious honestly no 🧢 however, it’s lot less tasty when you get two extra charges totaling in 40 extra bucks for service and tax fees if you plan on coming here come alone or bring your pocket book you writing a check atp!! Check please ! The drinks weren’t all that either and the walk to the front of the entrance could’ve knocked off that service fee! Anways the food was great I enjoyed it!

We were greeted promptly and were able to be seated quickly despite us not having reservations. I loved our seating and the ambiance of the restaurant. The DJ was jamming and the music wasn’t overpowering, so that we were able to converse. The filling of the oxtail egg rolls were delicious but the wrapping was a bit hard. I had the mint lemonade, which was so refreshing! I had the jerk lamb chops and my waitress suggested a “ special sauce” that’s was too it to another level. I mean the lamb chops were already great! My date loves oxtails and he was not disappointed… flavorful and tender. We shared the candied yams as an additional side. Omgoodness! They were caramelized to perfection. The wait for our food was longer than expected, but they were busy and the food was worth the wait. Plus, the waitress did check on us regularly, as well as the manager and owner. Which is why I gave a 5 for service.

We visited on a Saturday at 5:30 (you definitely need a reservation) and we ordered the whole red snapper grilled. It was delicious and tender. My sides were collard greens and cabbage. It was seasoned well. They also had a DJ playing a great variety of music.

I placed an order today because I heard so much about this spot. However, I was terribly disappointed with the food. The hostess who helped me was very nice. Her and the bartender greeted everyone as they entered the establishment. The customer service was not the problem it was the food. The cornbread dressings with chicken were overly salty. I mean, I could not eat any of this at all, not only that, but for 10.00, per side of dressings, I am not expecting to get burnt corners. This dressing was just dry and salty. The trio egg rolls had to be leftovers reheated because the egg rolls wrapper were chewy. The lambchops is a NO. And the Mac and cheese is a no. It just tastes like I got leftover food. I had to wait for my lamchop, but I see why because they were burnt as well. I just honestly think I will not be back.

Yelp
If I could leave ZERO STARS I would, I was told a wait time of 15 mins that ended up being 45 mins! While waiting she sat down a party of 5 and a party of 2 with a baby and I was checked in way before! I wish I could have at least tasted the food but with the service already shown ON TOP of A WAIT FOR MENUS!! Then she said A WAIT ON WATER, then we have to get a new waiter like I unfortunately don't have my whole Saturday to do so 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND and don't get me started on their parking....

Yelp
The food was amazing & so was the service. The ox tails and jerk chicken are so good. The jerk sauce is fire.
