The Essential Montreal Caribbean Restaurants

"The borough of LaSalle has a significant West Indian population, well served here with a hefty menu of regional faves. For lively domino tournament action, this is the place, if not their traditional Guyanese-Chinese side menu with stir-fried options to boot." - JP Karwacki, Eater Staff

I got a chicken and goat roti yesterday from them for the first time since 2018, both were amazing and only $10 each. Great hot sauce too. I really like the inside of the restaurant too. Just make sure you bring cash when you go.

A fantastic authentic Caribbean restaurant in Montreal ❤️ It is the perfect venue to host banquets and parties 🎉 We went for dinner and had Poulori for appetizers and each bite was just perfect ❤️❤️ For the main course I had the Dholl Puri with Boneless Goat while my partner had Jerk Chicken served with rice and plantain 🥰🥰 Each bite was beyond delicious with a huge portion size and we finished it all ❤️❤️ For desserts they had the topical fruits ice cream and we had Mango and Pistachio ❤️❤️ The service was great and the owners are always smiling and welcoming and answered all our questions 😇😇 A 11/10 restaurant to come with huge groups of family and friends and just enjoy the great hospitality 🥰🥰 Cannot wait to come and try other items on the extensive menu !

Wonderful Caribbean restaurant and atmosphere. Food is fresh and very flavorful. Amazing customer service and served with a smile. Can host your private events and cater your food if needed. The price is very affordable and I will definitely be returning.

As a regular customer of Caribbean Paradise and the person responsible for the child involved, I would like to sincerely apologize to the Caribbean Paradise restaurant and its owners. I believe the situation has been blown out of proportion. While there was an incident, it was unnecessarily amplified. Caribbean Paradise has been a cornerstone of the community for years—consistently giving back by hosting free Christmas parties with toy giveaways and generously offering their venue at no cost for various community events and functions. Please don’t let this incident affect your support for this valued and community-focused restaurant. Sincerely , AGATHA ALEXANDER SINGER ND DESIGNER

I was in the neighborhood at a Italian butcher shop and I asked the person behind the counter if he knew of any good Caribbean restaurants around the LaSalle area and he mentioned the Caribbean paradise. I decided to give it a try and let me tell you I am as happy as can be. The service was wonderful I think it was a husband and wife. Very kind. I took a chicken roti a jerk chicken plate and 2 doubles each one was better than the other. I recommend this place to everyone

Food was delicious! Both husband & wife are super friendly. I took the fried rice mix which comes with a sauce. I definitely recommend this place to everyone if it’s you’re first time trying Carribbean food!

Very tasty food, had the boneless beef roti and polourie. Authentic tasting South Trinidad curry. The beef was tender and well seasoned. This was my first taste of Montreal and it was good.

I’am never one to leave a review anywhere but this ting I witness here today was unacceptable. To see a little child cry for asking the women for a napkin and how the women responded to the child and not the mother over a napkin ?! Gyal a napkin??? Wah kinda ppl does work here ????

Yelp
Pros: Best rotis in Montreal. Excellent dishes also. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Friendly people... Cons: Not a place to eat if ambiance matters to you. Or if you dislike empty restaurants. Or if you dislike places that urgently need renovations. Overall, I keep coming back because the food is excellent.

Yelp
PROS: 1. Food is authentic Caribbean! The Jerk chicken which falls off the bone (deliciousness), dal and roti were my favorite things. 2. The resto is interesting. There's a palm tree in the middle of a dance floor, colorful paintings on the wall and the server was a comical guy who I think was also the cook. LOL There was thematic music playing which was fun. CONS: 1. The outside of the restaurant doesn't do justice to how funny it is inside and the resto itself is outside downtown. But the caribbean food here is not something I've been able to find downtown. OVERALL: -Go here if you want guaranteed delish Caribbean food and an interesting ambiance! -Worth the cost of the food -A family friendly place or fun to go for a bday when the dancefloor is open.
