"After a successful five years running their Haitian food truck, expats Frantz Felix and his wife Guerline opened a restaurant in 2019. They specialize in Haiti’s national dish: rice and beans with griot, spicy pork seasoned with Scotch bonnet peppers, lemon, and vinegar — or fried goat if you prefer. Round out your plate with a side of accra, a starchy root similar to yucca; pikliz, the fermented shredded cabbage salad; and sweet or savory banane pesées, or plantains. Pair it all with a vanilla lemonade, mango juice, or a local IPA. Felix wishes the pandemic hadn’t made it impossible to import Haiti’s Prestige beer; for now Red Stripe will have to do." - Maria C. Wow. The Jamaican Jerk chicken was so good. I've been in San Rafael for 3 years and had never been here. Can't believe I've wasted so much time. The chicken is incredibly tender, I got some of their habanero hot sauce and drenched my rice and red beans with it. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. **Returned already** Came back for the creole pulled pork and it was also great. Homemade rolls were excellent and the pulled pork wasn't too fatty, just the right amount of brightness in the sauce.

I went here for the first time today, had lunch with some caribbean peeps. Food was quite good, and I'd admit although the flavors were Haitian inspired, the regular dishes of jerk chicken and Oxtail were good, I cleaned my plate.

The jerk chicken was amazing, the oxtail was so tender and sumptuous, the pikliz phenomenal and I could drink the passion fruit salad dressing. The best restaurant food I’ve had in some time. Can’t wait to go back!

Haitian American from Miami moves to California 10 years ago, assumes she will never have Haitian food again outside of her mom’s house….until finding Caribbean Spices! The food is delicious and authentic. We also had amazing service during our visit and the woman serving us couldn’t be sweeter. I’m so exited to return with friends and family.

I am new to the Bay Area after living in Haiti for 8 years. At Caribbean Spices, I finally found Home away from Home. The place has a comfy vibe, the owners were very kind, and the food delicious ! I loved my Griot (melted in my mouth) and my rice and beans (riz sauce pois) was delicious. Portions were big! It brought me back straight to Haïti. Anyone wanting the real Haitian experience should go to Caribbean Spices. I'll be back with my Haitian Friends !

The food was sooooo flavorful! Starting from the mandarin dressing of the salad (which just comes for the table with any order). The goat curry was super succulent and the the jerk chicken was perfect with crispy skin. The chef was so kind, came out to reassure us about all our food restrictions. All their entrees are also gluten free which was amazing.

Ohhh my goodness. As an American caribeña, born and raised in Miami, I have been struggling for YEARS to find good and authentic Caribbean food in Northern Cali. And boy have I found it. The spices are punchy and the meat was so tender it fell right off the bone. This place is SO good, authentic, reasonably priced, and I will definitely be back! If you want a taste of the Atlantic, this is it.

Best service ever!! My sister and I was greeted and seated by our server Guerline her energy was immaculate and vibe was very inviting which was very enticing. And the food was delicious, especially the oxtail. Thank you Guerline.
