Before entering the shop i immediately noticed the great outdoor seating available. I already imagined myself sitting here on a warm morning downing a shaken expresso. The atmosphere is perfect. The lighting is welcoming with the corners of the shop offering a more moody lighting for guests who rather bask in the dark. The menu is expansive wirh lots of variety in options. the food made available is limited with no real ability to make changes such as removing cheese, or rly removing anything off an item. no matter, as there’s plenty of options for everyone to enjoy from their bakery. I myself enjoyed a chorizo and chicken burrito, it had cheese and it was simply delightful. the wrap was of an enchilada or tomato basil blend but it was filling and savory. A quick shoutout to their combo meals which for 10 dollars you get iced coffee and breakfast sandwich, or a donut and coffee for 6. a perfect balance of higher end food and drink for a fair price. As for the coffee i had, i choose the Honey lavender expresso. it.was.banging. I am still chasing this coffee itch a week later. my word what a treat. it was perfect. i can’t describe the feeling i had after the first sip. have you ever let out a big ahhhhh after achieving a sensation of satisfaction? i did here. i’ve also tried their caramel expresso and it was just okay, i think the combo of honey lavender just worked so well wirh the rich taste of the expresso. if perhaps it was a salted caramel i can see my stance on it changing. while i didn’t get a picture of it, i has the almond biscotti. rich in flavor, and the shortbread cookie was wonderful. both items had minimal ingredients and tasted very fresh and clean. i was throughly impressed with the freshness of all the items i procured that day. support local folks.

Google
The best hot chocolate in town!! Even on a warm day, a hot chocolate is my "go to". Caribou has the best!! I love to sit down and enjoy a cup while I work or visit with a friend.

Google
Coffee is always great here. Have not had a bad experience getting coffee here. Staff is always friendly and dining room is laid back.

Matt F (MattDoge)

Google
Always great. Been coming here for ~10 years. Maybe a little longer. Service is always great, drinks are reliably good, and on the occasion a drink is not great or if there is a mistake, they are ALWAYS happy to fix things with no hesitation or hassle. 10/10

Nicole K

Google
Amazing coffee, though it was not filled all the way to the line. We still thoroughly enjoyed the coffees and the breakfast wrap/sandwiches were very yummy. Very kind staff.

Google
Great atmosphere and good coffee. Stopped in for a quick hot mocha. I had no issues with the staff, atmosphere, and coffee. But not being from the US I couldn't log into the WiFi since I didn't have a local phone carrier. It might have been possible but I didn't stay long enough to try and work through it.

Google
Great tea! Service was quick, but the server didn't smile. Got to use the private meeting room today. There was nothing special about it, and it got the job done! Different day, good coffee and pleasant service

Crista Baldwin

Google
Great staff. A few of my co-workers and I stopped by on a regular to get tea on lunch. The young man was so nice & had a great personality. I didn't know too much about different coffees and he really explained it to me I hate I don't remember his name but he was great

Lauren S.

Yelp
Greeted by 6'5" and kind barista! Assisted my friend (with questionable taste as she does not partake in coffee) with a bright and refreshing fruit energy fuel drink. The location was inviting and comfortable with patrons working on laptops and enjoying their afternoon sip n reads.

Charle L.

Yelp
I love caribou's hot chai tea latte and stop for one most times I visit my chiropractor's office across the street. Always fixed as ordered and reasonably quickly given their steady business.

Iris R.

Yelp
Caribou Coffee has been on my places to try in Chapel Hill for a while now. The baristas were very friendly and offered menu suggestions when asked. I ordered a London Fog, which has become my new favorite drink. The barista did a fabulous job with my drink. I mean it as so delicious. The tea flavor + milk + a little bit of sweetness = just right! It's the best London Fog that I've ever had. Needless to say I'll will visit this location again.

Lynn R.

Yelp
Stopped in on a cold windy day for some hot tea. I ordered a hot cinnamon tea with honey. The aroma was lovely and the tea delicious. The staff was friendly and got to our orders quickly. The location is convenient and they have plenty of parking. I loved this location and the prices are fair. They have a lot of tables and comfy chairs inside and they also have seating outside so this is a great place to hang out and relax and just enjoy your beverage. I definitely will be back.

Adam B.

Yelp
Gosh I missed this place. I haven't seen a Caribou in maybe 10 years, when I was still living in the midwest. They are so much better than the famous chain with Space/dollar-esuqe name... The Wi-fi was easy to access, there are plenty of outlets for charging, big comfortable leather chairs, and a rather homey atmosphere. The place was kept clean, I didn't ahve to see tables with a bunch of garbage left behind after people had left. I ordered an iced chai since I don't drink coffee. Good blend of milk and spice, it was a well made drink. Good times.

Elaine H.

Yelp
Very nice employees. Coffee drinks are bland. Interior fine. Nice outdoor seating. Neither bad nor especially good.

Kelly F.

Yelp
It's Caribou-that says it all. This company makes top notch coffee drinks and we are lucky to have them here. Their food is so much. Ether than big bucks and the service is in a totally different category. The people greet you, smile, give good service. The shops are all cute, too. Cabin in the mountains vibes make it warm and inviting. Go ahead and head on over, grab a drink and a bite and settle in to enjoy it.

John David J.

Yelp
Amazing customer service. Talked to the guy at the register for a while and he covered my coffee. Need more people like that. Also great for studying.

Madison E.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I have been to LOADS of coffee shops all over the country and Caribou is definitely one of my favorites. It just feels at home, I have never gotten anything here that disappoints. 10/10 haha.

Alex R.

Yelp
Went in to order a coffee and gave the barista a $20 bill and only received $2 and some change back. When I told the barista "I paid with a $20 bill, shouldn't there be more change?" He claimed I only paid with a $10, but I only had 20's in my wallet. I come here often so it kinda stinks that this will be on my mind next time I think about stopping by.

Drew K.

Yelp
Absolutely PATHETIC! Went in just to get two gift cards. The barista who was assisting did not greet us, and in fact stepped aside when we approached. Then after placing an order for two $25 gift cards, we were given two cards with one sleeve. When we asked for a second sleeve, it took over 10 minutes for her to attempt to track one down...which she never did. The manager on duty (?) informed us they had none left, which is odd considering there are 50+ gift cards strewn about the store. Another employee was dressed completely unprofessional and was operating the register with a roll of toilet paper in hand. No name tags, no greeting, poor service; the entire presentation was underwhelming and off putting. This was a horrific experience in every sense of the word. We loyally purchase Caribou Coffee to brew at home, and this experience has made us reconsider supporting the company altogether. Again, absolutely PATHETIC.

Ariel H.

Yelp
This Caribou Coffee was clean, quiet and cozy. There was mixed group of people studying, reading and hanging out, but the overall volume was perfect for quietly reading my book and enjoying the ambience. They had lots of comfy seating options, and the lighting gave a warm feel. I had a spiced chai latte, which had lots of foam and wasn't too sweet; if anything I could've made it a little sweeter. Instead however, I opted for a cinnamon coffee cake, which was moist and slightly dense with gooey cinnamon globs throughout. Super sweet and super delicious!

Kenneth D.

Yelp
Now I've been known to drink a lot of caribou coffee. And there are a few of their locations I'd never set foot in because they are a big fat zero on the Yelp scale. But this ain't one of them. Caribou Chapel Hill is what EVERY location should be like: CLEAN, QUIET,and GREAT COFFEE. Why can't the others reach the same echelon of coffee awesomeness? I seriously don't know. It doesn't make sense. There really isn't a reason other than the individual stare management. And the team at Chapel Hill is doing it right. First, BAM - always greeted as soon as I walk in the door. BOOM - guy taking my order always smiles and jokes with me, making me feel genuinely welcomed. WHAM - the drinks are consistent and on target. And lastly, BAAABAAMMM! No drug adicts have ever hit me up for money like at their Cary location. So dollar for dollar, even though it's a long haul from my house, it's worth it - it's the real deal folks. Seriously. So if you miss the good old days of Caribou Coffee, come take a look. There is still hope for this once beloved brand. And that hope can be found at the Chapel Hill location. Let's just hope it's contagious.

Yeva Z.

Yelp
It was ok. Coffee was not my favorite so I won't go there anymore. Service was alright and the ambience was more comfy...

Ava B.

Yelp
subpar coffee that gave my husband diarhhea. Pastries were crunchy and had sand in them??!! Five stars because the ambiance was off the hook, although my pale white milk toast husband requests that you play more hard christian death metal Jesus rock and gospel songs in the cafe.

kathryn b.

Yelp
Coffee was overpriced but fine...But i have a bone to pick with your 10 cent off trivia question. Trivial as it may be, the ancient egyptians did not indeed build houses with wood. Think about it for a second. Consider the environment, the availability of materials. My answer, mud baked into bricks, was correct. The barista's answer, wood, was nothing short of ridiculous. Please show me a source of abundant timber in ancient egypt. Unimportant indeed but annoying enough to make me be petty on the internet albeit as I hide behind my screen. If you're going to have trivia, at least know the answer. Sigh. Good day.

Carl S.

Yelp
Very cool vibe and great coffee. The holiday options are both creative and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to just hang out and chill.

Maunia V.

Yelp
Their coffees are delicious. I love caribou blend and cross fox. The shop is clean and has friendly service.

Kong L.

Yelp
Caribou Coffee is awesome! I'll choose it over most of the other popular options. The sweetness is just right! The amazing lineup of drinks will hit the spot, whether you are craving a nice coffee or fruity drink. This is 1 of 3 location in the area and is a great place to work! It doesn't get that crowded and there are plenty of spaces to sit. I love the location. Although this is a 15-20 minute drive for me, I don't mind making it for a quality drink. Great customer service! Everyone is really kind.

David L.

Yelp
There's very limited parking. Sometime, I park in nearby parking spaces behind Caribou. They do have one of my favorite studying atmospheres. It's also a great place for smaller meetings. There are a decent number of single seater couches and plenty of tables. The temperature is usually perfect- neither too warm in the winter or too cold in the summer. There drink selections are standard and don't really stand out- but the value of the place primarily lies in its atmosphere and work spaces

Larcie B.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop in Chapel Hill! Staff is always so pleasant and goes out of their way to make sure your drink/experience is great

Toby T.

Yelp
Another popular coffee shop in the Chapel Hill-Carborro area. Great for team projects, doing work with friends, or socializing. The parking can be limited during busy hours. In my many visits, the place has always had a charger open or one that usually opened within half an hour of being there. I will say their coffee (I usually try any drinks that are iced) is a mediocre and breakfast sandwiches are ~pricey~. Staff is really nice though! Everything is currently to go bc COVID but there is outdoor seating for about 3-4 people.

Sophie W.

Yelp
My blended blackberry lemonade was delicious and my waitress/barista/friend Hannah was so helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peyton W.

Yelp
This place had a spectacular staff, who were super kind and helpful while taking our order! The place is clean, the drinks are "bangin" as the youth might say, and the straws are a fantastic matte blue color that I've never seen anywhere else! The seating leaves something to be desired, as there is not much structure or table space available. Would I come here for my birthday party? Maybe not. Would I come here for a cup o' joe with the missus? I sure as heck would. Great job Carribou Coffee.

Madison W.

Yelp
On a nice Spring day, Caribou is a great place to sit outside and get some work done. The tables are socially distant and there are umbrellas to provide some shade (if so desired). There aren't a lot of food options but the coffee is good (the egg souffle things are pretty good and low carb - but PRICEY)

Tas O.

Yelp
Yummy coffee it's pretty good quality. The winter special drinks are the best. The refreshers are also really yummy. The service here was sooooo good too I think that's what made the drinks that much better. I come here whenever I'm close by.

Sammi W.

Yelp
this was my first time coming here, for the adults though it was their second or third time! they really liked the atmosphere & i finally got to see how it is! i ordered the blueberry almond oatmeal & they let me customize it by no added sugar (though they ran out of blueberries, they gave extra almond slices!) my mom & grandpa shared a cinnamon coffee cake with a medium light roast coffee while i had a small. the atmosphere was really naise & so wholesome! i saw lots of students studying & it's such a suitable place for that! the workers were really nice & spoke clearly abt everything! i'd really love to come back & try the different type of coffees they offer!

Kohen G.

Yelp
My girl friend and I went in to get coffee and Lexi and Malanie were the friendliest baristas. Had great recommendations and made a killer coffee. Service and coffee like this are the reasons I love caribou!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Ever since Caribou Coffees across the country were turned into Peet's I've been searching for something that could mend my broken heart. And it turns out Caribou is alive and well in North Carolina, victory! If I were you, I'd pass on the food and just guzzle any of the drinks. Whether it's coffee, a cooler, latte or mocha, you really can't go wrong. And everyone in here is super nice, which beats any other coffee chain out there.

Randi X.

Yelp
Turtle mocha is super yummy!! A little sweet but I got dark chocolate so it was a good balance

Lauren W.

Yelp
They are very very slow. Using up ordering app is useless because they will not bring it up curbside. I sat there for over 10 minutes before I went inside and found the drink sitting cold on the table. They don't pay attention to when people drive up I don't think they actually use that system. Would not go here, too much hassle. Tons of employees in the building working, but doesn't seem like anybody is able to get organized or get it together.

Lorea S.

Yelp
This is the closest coffee shop to me but I always avoided it due to the lack of study space in the main shop area (being a law student hurts in so many ways). The only big tables used to be in an unheated back room that was so cold I used to wear my scarf and coat the entire time! However, they've recently rearranged so there are more large tables in the main space and they've added power strips to the outlets so fighting to plug in your laptop isn't a problem anymore. The staff is friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my day as well as my coffee order. The space is well-lit and has comfortable chairs and a fireplace, if you're one of those lucky people (that I used to be) that go to coffee shops to oh... I don't know... maybe read for pleasure and catch up with friends and there is always a good mix of undergrads, grad students, and locals. Parking can be a bit of a problem, though, and lots of people get creative so if there isn't a real spot available don't worry. Just make one up!

Chris K.

Yelp
Always very good coffee and lots of seating. I only wish that students wouldn't set up camp for hours on end and want people to be quiet as if they're in a library. If you want that kind of a setting, go to the library!

Holly K.

Yelp
I have a confession to make, I have been cheating on my beloved usual coffee chain and I think I'll be doing it on a regular basis. This location specifically is a decent size but, is always busy. The seats are all taken up and the parking lot is packed whether I was there at 8pm or 8am. However I love a sweet sugary coffee and a place that allows you to select whether you want milk, dark, or white chocolate in your coffee is after my own heart. I tried out the Mint Condition Mocha and the Turtle Mocha, both were good but mint and chocolate are my jam so, that would definitely be where my favorite leans towards. I also tried the ham and cheese quiche which wasn't bad. The service was good nothing particularly friendly but nothing rude or anything along those lines.

Jaehee Y.

Yelp
I love Caribou Coffee. My personal favorite is their Caribou Blend (black coffee) or their iced Campfire Mocha in the summer. If you like pastries, try their brownies or chocolate croissants. This is one of my favorite places to get some work done but sometimes it's hard to find parking (it's a popular place to study among UNC students). Their service is always great, with friendly and happy baristas!

Robyn P.

Yelp
I really like this coffee shop. This is my go to coffee location if I have a few minutes to sit down and enjoy my coffee. The baristas are always pleasant the coffee and snacks are good. My only complaints are that their small parking lot is frequently impossible to find a space in. They also run out of food items frequently. No matter what time of day you go in. I also dislike that the company itself has taken away many of my favorites from the menu over the years.

Kaitlin J.

Yelp
I love Caribou! This place is always packed. There are always people here with laptops, or people meeting for coffee, or everything in between! I am partial to their almond milk latte with sugar free caramel flavoring. It is beyond delicious! It's the only thing I've tried, but I love it so much I don't feel the need to try anything else! The parking can be dicey and it is on the corner of an intersection so the entry and exit is also problematic at times. They offer an order ahead app which is great if you are short on time. They also have a good selection of breakfast type items if you need a bite to eat, like muffins and breakfast sandwiches. Overall I like the vibe here and love their lattes!

Lilly W.

Yelp
The place is easy to find. Parking was not so easy. You have to get creative with parking or wait for someone to leave. It's nice and cozy inside, however, the back room is really cold. It can get pretty loud in there, but it's a great place to chat or hang out. If you don't mind the noise, then it can be a good study spot too. However, please don't be one of those people who take a 4-person table for yourself.

Arch S.

Yelp
Coffee is great. The customer service when Michael is not behind the counter is five stars. When he is behind the counter, it is one star. The average is three. They should do something about not allowing him to interact with the customers.

Ha N.

Yelp
The coffee is great (for me, that means that when taken black it's not sour, minimal bitterness, no burnt taste) though a bit weak, and the space is great for working. I was staying over at a friend's place while they had no wifi two weeks ago and they recommended this place (I've had their Sumatra blend or something like that many a mornings at my friend's and was sold). It's definitely one of the better places to work in the area, and if the parking space was better then this would totally be a staple.

Emily S.

Yelp
I evacuated due to Hurricane Irma, so while here in Chapel Hill, I HAD to get Caribou! We have them back in the midwest, but we do not have any in Charleston-so stopping was a must! I came in, and everyone was VERY nice! Savannah was the cashier, who was very knowledgeable on products. I can't remember the barista's name, but she had blonde hair-very nice as well. Kimberly, she looked like the manager, needs to learn how to smile. I'm not from the area, so I asked where some good locations are for food, and as Savannah was asking another girl, I felt the death stares from Kimberly were a little harsh. Otherwise, the coffee was just as good as I remember!

Shannon R.

Yelp
I have a soft spot for Caribou- it's where I met my husband! The coffee is great and their pastries are just dandy too. They have toaster and microwave ready for you to heat-it-yourself. A variety of seating options are available including comfy chairs, outdoor tables, and a conference room. Check out the daily trivia questions for a discount on your coffee! Parking can be a bit hairy here. But if it's crowded, you can usually get a spot within 2-3 minutes of wait time.

Monica M.

Yelp
One of the things about working from home is - you get reeeeaaaally bored being at home all the time. Hence, the coffee shop frequent flier miles! Now, I'm always a fan of a place that has food, too, and this place has some good pastries and DEFINITELY some yummy coffee. I try and get out of the house for a full day 1-2 times a week, and this is one of my go-to spots. Its relatively small, but comfortable. I really like the fact that I can go in wearing something completely professional, OR just plan ol' shorts and a tee- and no one will give you a second judgey look. Wrap everything up in a reasonable price, and you've got some happy wireless-loving campers!

Nicole H.

Yelp
I like the building and location - close enough to the UNC campus to be bike-able, but far enough away that every seat isn't filled with studying students. There's also a community room that can be used for gatherings, or for seating when it's not reserved. I was excited for my first pumpkin latte of the season, but when I opened the lid - no foam! Sad, sad me. It tasted fine, though, and I don't usually feel I can blame chain places for less-than-perfect drinks.

Tiffany A.

Yelp
The points that any college student are looking for are all here: service is decent, seating fairly spacious (even the outside tables), nice selection of tea (unsweetened mango black tea was great albeit VERY light on the mango) compared to your sterile corporate competitor, Starbucks (I hate their tea flavors!). On the downside, this place smells like a bathroom and coffee mixed together. I don't know if eau de toilette was taken seriously here but it's disgusting. I had to sit outside and wave away bugs because I couldn't fathom sitting inside with that smell for more than 5 minutes. Additional note - wifi is fairly crappy IMO. I ended up alternating with FedEx's next door because it kept cutting in and out (and I know it was not my computer's problem!)

Yeshanth J.

Yelp
One of the bad dark chocolate mocha that I have had. The one on Maynard makes the best dark chocolate mocha and close second is Brier Creek. Staff are courteous.

Kari D.

Yelp
Caribou is a great coffee chain. They're less hectic than Starbucks and offer some specialty espresso drinks. When we go to NC every fall, I always get the campfire mocha with dark chocolate. It is basically a s'mores hot chocolate with coffee in it...yum!! I've had their breakfast sandwiches, too, and they're about what you expect from a coffee chain. Definitely a fan.

Matty B.

Yelp
Caribou coffee is pretty solid all-around, and this location is no exception. The coffee is tasty and prepared well, there is ample seating, and the baristas are always super friendly. There is a decent amount of seating, though not as much as at the location in the heart of Franklin Street. However, there are numerous couches and chairs inside the cafe, as well as a number of seats and tables out front as well. All in all, this is a solid spot to sit back and get some work done or read a book while sipping on a tasty caffeinated beverage or nibbling on some baked goods. The only downside is that the parking lot is a bit cramped, and thus there is often a lack of open spots on a first go around. People do get a bit creative with the park jobs in front, however, and the abandoned drive-through is always utilized to its maximum potential. I do often wonder, however, where people park when all the spots are taken and none open up quickly (the essentially deserted Pizza Hut a couple doors down?).

John L.

Yelp
I like that this Caribou Coffee has parking, and is relatively spacious, with useable seating both inside and outside. The only downside is that the parking in question is incredibly hard to find at peak hours: the lot fills up quickly, making hanging out here incredibly hard unless you're lucky enough to get a parking spot.
