As I was going over the map for the Denver International Airport, I could've sworn I saw a Starbucks location near the gate for our connecting flight. However, by the time my husband and I got off the plane--freezing our behinds off in 39 degree weather because SOMEBODY (AKA my husband) refused to bring a jacket and made me leave behind one of two sweaters so I could accommodate his clothes--we could not figure out where the heck it was located. So as we tried to navigate our way through Terminal B, we noticed Caribou Coffee with a long line of customers and figured we would give it a go.
Caribou Coffee is located on the second floor near Gate 37 (for United Airlines/Terminal B). It's literally in the center of the second floor so you can't miss it but if you do it's next to Jamba Juice and close to Voo Doo Donuts. Don't let the long line of customers fool you either because this location has their operations on lock.
Since I was not familiar with Caribou Coffee and did not want to delay the line of customers or the employees, I took a quick look at their website to see their menu. What is convenient about their website is that Caribou Coffee allows you to view menus for each location. Since pumpkin season is my favorite season (yes, I am that basic, let me live lol), I decided I'd go with the Pumpkin White Mocha Cooler. Since my husband was also hungry and trying to be healthy, I also picked up one of their Fresca Salads. The wait time for drink orders did take a little longer but I think it may have been because there was only one barista doing both mobile and walk-up orders. Even so, the barista was as quick as he could be given the amount of orders and was also very friendly to everyone that stopped by to grab their drinks. By the time my order was called, I walked up and thanked the barista who did the same and wished me a good day.
By the time I got to my husband, he was happy to see that I had found him some food. As I took a sip of my Pumpkin White Mocha Cooler, I was a little disappointed because I could not taste the pumpkin or the white mocha. I cannot even say that I was able to taste the coffee either but I did get a bit of a tummy ache because it seems like the coffee beans used are higher in acidity, so just a word of caution for those that are sensitive. On the other hand, my husband seemed to like his salad as it had corn, jicama slaw, romaine lettuce, cotija cheese, and tomatoes along with a green dressing. He said that it was light, refreshing, and quite a lot of food considering the size.
Overall, I would recommend Caribou Coffee if you're in the area and need some caffeine. It was a good place to get drinks, snacks, or even a bite to eat as they offer sandwiches and salads in addition to the typical breakfast or pastry fare. While I did not enjoy the coffee drink that I ordered, it could have either been an off day or a drink that is not as favored as I noticed a lot of people ordering the Turtle Mocha. Either way, still worth a try especially if you do not have a Caribou Coffee location near where you live.
