This spot has quickly become one of my favorite hangouts in town. In the morning, it’s the perfect cozy coffee shop—laid back, warm, and inviting, with great coffee that’s smooth and never rushed. The atmosphere makes it easy to start the day relaxed, whether you’re catching up on work or just enjoying a quiet moment. What I love most is how the place transforms at night. The same welcoming vibe stays, but it shifts into a chill cocktail bar. The drinks are crafted with care, and the ambiance makes it an ideal spot to unwind after a long day. It never feels overwhelming—just easy, comfortable, and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a second home, whether you’re sipping coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening, this is definitely it.

This place exceeded my expectations! My favorite for the matcha flight I got was strawberry, mazapan, lavender blueberry, and froot loops, all were good though. Good spot to work/study. Great service, great potion sizes and most importantly superb flavor. I highly recommend and would come back!

A hidden gem off North Main on Hogan Street near UHD. There is an outside patio area and on the inside holds a beautiful space with a really nice bar. The blueberry matcha is my favorite (all of their matchas are great) and I frequent this place quite often. Parking is across the street so be mindful when crossing.

Iced coffee was the bomb 💣 atmosphere is definitely on point if you like a chill place to hangout , especially with friends. Service is great , and that iced Coffee was the best yet. Not much of a drinker but it seems they have a full bar.

Coffee is excellent, parking sucks. Vanilla latte had the perfect blend of bitter, smooth, and sweet. They offer a variety of dairy alternatives and homemade syrups. Nice quiet place. Recommend indoor seating. Parking is an empty lot across 4lane road. Lot is not paved. Cafe is nestled between tire shop and fire station.

If I could give Cariño Coffee a 10/5, I would.
This place is such a hidden gem—emphasis on hidden. I literally drove past it at first, but once I found it, I was instantly charmed. It gives off that perfect “local favorite” energy with a boutique vibe that’s hard to find. I was visiting Houston for the weekend and had one mission: find a legit matcha latte. As someone who’s admittedly a bit of a matcha snob (I usually just make mine at home because I’m that picky), I was hoping to find something special—and Cariño absolutely delivered. I ordered the blueberry lavender matcha, which I had never seen before, and OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was phenomenal—balanced, not too sweet, and full of nuanced flavor. Easily a 12/10. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the incredible service. The person who helped me was genuinely so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I mentioned I’m not a fan of overly sweet drinks, and they explained that all their syrups are house-made, which gives them a more natural, clean flavor. That attention to detail won me over immediately. Cariño Coffee is the kind of place you wish you had in your own city. I’ll 1000% be back the next time I’m in Houston—and probably dreaming about that blueberry lavender matcha until then.

Coffee was great, but the matcha absolutely stole the show. Matcha is prepared by hand and all syrups (blueberry lavender) make an amazing and refreshing addition to the drink prepare by the awesome staff. Place is real cool and relaxed during the day, with some great folks running it. Coming next time to try their marzipan cold brew!

First, walking in the barista lady was really nice and welcoming! Love it, her vibes were just great. I let her know it was my first time and she answered my questions. I was interested in the Banana Latte but was hesitant. She offered me to taste the syrup and mentioned how it’s a house made syrup and how other syrups were too. I was won over, so my order ended up being a Large Banana Oat Milk Latte with an extra shot (default is 2 shots so I added an extra to give it more of a coffee flavor). It was perfect! 10 out of 10 recommend, especially if you’re new and want something more authentic!

I'm so happy with my coffee today! Cariño Café is such a gem, it's a bar and coffee spot in one, and they absolutely nailed it. I ordered the horchata iced latte and let me tell you... it was the best one I've ever had! My husband tried their café de olla and loved it too. The service was fast, and both the barista and the young woman who took our order were super friendly, that alone speaks volumes when supporting small businesses! After a not-so-great coffee experience last week at a different coffee shop, this visit here completely turned it around for me. Guess that's the beauty of trying new coffee shops out Everything from the drinks to the atmosphere was spot on. Parking was super easy with an empty lot right across the street, so convenient! Definitely adding this to my list of must-try coffee spots in Houston for my yelp friends!

So, first of, there is a parking lot across from this place, but you're lucky to get a spot, especially on a busy day. The vibes inside were very interesting because it looked like a bar. Nonetheless, my sisters & I all got the same coffee which was the cafe de olla shaken espresso with oat milk, and it was pretty good. It did take a while because it was super busy, but I'll definitely try more items on a not so busy day.

Drinks were amazing! The Mazapan Matcha had me reminiscing of my childhood, eating Mazapan with my grandma. Walking into in the space had a really nice vibe, unique from your typical coffee shop. Service was great, the baristas were very friendly, and best of all the coffee did not disappoint. Note: the place is easy to pass up. The sign is not very visible and there is not a designated area to park. But once you are in there is a nice intimate feeling to the space that makes you want to stay.

We stopped by for the matcha flight, and it was very good! The lavender matcha was my favorite! The place is nestled away to where we drive past it once . . . almost twice! The service was walk-up bay style, and personnel is friendly. Ambience is young-skater trendy. It's a friendly place with inside booths or outside picnic tables.

I have been wanting to try Cariño Cafe for such a long time and I finally tried it the other day. This cafe is a bar at night, hence why they close early. They have a gravel lot across the street that you can park in for free. The inside is so vibey. They play such great music and have a balance of dimly lit and natural light. I got their mazapan matcha, one of their specialties. The matcha comes with your choice of milk, vanilla, and a mazapan cream top. I don't exactly know what is in mazapan but it's sooo fire. It has little nutty yet sweet taste that enhances the matcha so much. The matcha itself is smooth as well. They have the flavors on point here. My friends tried the blueberry lavender matcha and the cafe de olla shaken espresso. The one with the matcha liked their drink but wished there was more lavender flavor. The shaken espresso has some cinnamon taste to it. I want to come back and try their coffee with the mazapan cream too. They have a few booths with outlets so could be a potential study spot but space is limited and they close early

Loved it ! Service was quick, atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing. It is the same location where Rabbits Got A Gun, but it turns into a coffee spot early in the day. I got the Horchata Matcha Latte. Let's just say it was perfect.

HOLY COLD FOAM! The service was good, a little wait, but they had a market and it was a Saturday (and they forgot my drink ) I ordered a bacon, cheese and egg taco, it was good. The cheese wasn't cheddar cheese, i can't quite place my finger on it so it tasted good and different. The matcha drink was amazing, SO MUCH COLD FOAM (which i loved) and the mazapán pieces on top sealed the deal. I would come here again with friends just to chill and to try their other matcha specials :)

Mazapan matcha w/almond milk - 8/10 - Could use more matcha but i liked the brown sugar peanut candy on top Blueberry lavender matcha - 9/10 - Soo flavorful and matcha was strong too Honey lavender latte w/ almond milk - 9/10 - Flavors and coffee were strong Cafe de olla shaken espresso w/vanilla cold foam - 9/10 - So creamy, i loved the flavors but was a bit too sweet for me Discovered a hole in the wall coffee shop in the most random place in Houston lol but their drinks were All their syrups were rich in flavor, but the drinks are definitely on the sweeter side so ask for less sweet if you like your drinks more bitter.

Coffee shop by day, cocktail bar by night, such a cool combo! Cariño just opened about three weeks ago, so we stopped by for a quick drink. I had the maiz latte and wow, it took me back to Mexico. The flavor was on point, and the balance between the milk, coffee, and maiz was perfect. We also tried the matcha latte, and it was super good too. Definitely coming back!

This place is located where the bar Rabbit's Got A Gun is! Turned coffee shop during the day! It opened about 3 weeks ago and we're so happy for a local, good coffee spot! Service was quick, kind & cost of coffee is extremely reasonable. It's small, vibe is great with good music and cute decor. I'm glad it was clean too considering it is a bar during the day. They are renovating the outside and adding some TVs which is awesome. Definitely check out the coffee & bar at night. Parking is across the street, free and plenty of spots.

I absolutely love this cafe! Pastries were yummy but more specifically the matcha! service was okay, the ambiance is really so cute but I have to complain that there's no parking! wouldn't feel safe enjoying a coffee there cus I would be worried about my car, but I'll keep picking up!

Coffee shop/cocktail bar escondido (hidden) - easy to miss this small, hole-in-the-wall business on the corner of Hogan and Everett. Entrance is right beside a mechanic shop and there is a little sign along with the name painted on the outside that tells you you're in the right place. There is a small little outdoor area that has vendors on occasion. A big metal door opens to the colorful and neat inside. They have coffees, specialty coffees, matcha and some baked goods (muffins, croissants, etc.). We got their Mazapán cold brew and a banana nut muffin. I had never tried Mazapán before - it has a distinct peanut flavor (that's what it is made of) and some little crumbles mixed in the coffee. Complimented the muffin very well. Service was friendly and quick - they had to be since there was a generous amount of people inside their tiny space. A very pleasant find and a pleasant experience!

Solid little place. It's in sort of a weird area and kinda hard to spot but was able to find it after circling the block. Be aware that it does convert to a bar at night so the crowd changes a little bit after 5pm. The drinks are good but nothing special unfortunately.

Very friendly people, fast service and delicious beverages. On the outside it may look closed but as soon as you open the beige doors, it's a cute hidden gem. I got the iced blueberry matcha and I loved it. They offer free pastries like conchas and doughnuts but we had just eaten brunch and I didn't want to be too full. Underwhelming at most. Came with high expectations since saw a lot about this place on tik tok but was a little disappointed, I got the Mazapan Latte and the flavor was unique but there was not much of a coffee flavor since it was overpowered. Like I couldn't taste the espresso at all. The baristas also didn't seem as welcoming, especially when it came to recommending a drink.

Located inside rabbit's got a gun, you would def have no idea it's here! I got the cafe de olla shaken espresso and the blueberry lavender matcha. These were some of the best coffee drinks I've had in a while yall. The drinks were well balanced but then I could also taste the matcha and espresso in their respective drinks. The employee was super nice and open to answer any questions I had. Would def be back here for more coffee! Hours are 8 am to 4 pm.

Finally found a place in Houston with double matcha and to top it off it was actually GOOD matcha! Cariño has a matcha menu with a unique twist on it which makes them different and i love it! The baristas are also very helpful and explain their menu items soo well, i always make the stop here when im on this side of town! Their matcha squared is one of my new favorites

Coffee was so good and the service was great. The only downside is the place is kinda hard to find but I loved the speakeasy vibe.

Ordered the strawberry matcha latte and a honey lavender latte which were both delicious! They even allow pups inside so you can enjoy your caffeine away from the heat. Will definitely be back!

I've come back a few times and as such, have updated my rating. The ambiance is great to sit and talk with friends. The matcha alone has kept me returning. I would recommend that when events are held for the main barista to get additional support to avoid unintentionally forgetting orders.

Everyone is friendly and willing to help guide you through the menu. They have a little background about the place as it was my first time here. Coffee is 10/10. Clean and cool hidden gem. A must try if you are a coffee fan like myself!

Ordered the Mazapan iced latte with oatmilk 8/10 and Mazapan cold brew with whole milk. 10/10 The drinks were fairly good, they were very sweet and the mazapan crumble was that, just a crumble. Locating the shop is fairly easy but it is also easy to miss. The parking is across the street, and very muddy with potholes. The guy working the counter wasn't very friendly and the drinks took about 15 minutes to come out. The seating is cute, but the inside is very small. Overall experience was nice.

Had the maiz milk iced coffee and it was so unique and super good. Not super sweet but a great flavor.

Highly recommend the Mazapan Matcha. It was amazing! Carino has really cool vibes, at least on a Saturday (I've only visited once). They had a live DJ and free conchas with coffee purchases!

I'm extremely disappointed. I've been a barista for a while and i ordered 2 pretty basic and easy drinks that came out tasting like one of the worst things i've ever drank. I'm not being dramatic because it was just an oat milk latte and an iced chai. The beans taste burnt? it's insanely bitter and not even enjoyable to drink. The chai on the other hand was spicy? no joke there's weird tingling particles in my drink that do not belong in a chai whatsoever! $12 for trash ass liquid. My boyfriend and i both agree it's the worst coffee and chai we've ever had. Do better.

Hands down best matcha and coffee (mazapán) haven't been able to find one like this since. Drive from cypress for this. Day time coffee shop night time bar so it's very cool, they get pretty busy but they are very nice. If you don't like very sweet they try to adjust and they have matcha flights!! So cool

first time here I got the blueberry lavender matcha. Very refreshing, their service was nice and quick, and the place was very chill.

Have had my eye on this place ever since it opened and it did not disappoint! Matcha is legit, tastes creamy and sweet. Ordered the mazapán matcha latte w oatmilk and it's sooo yummy, one of the best matcha lattes I've had in Houston. Definitely recommending and definitely coming back!

Their fruit loops matcha ALWAYS hits the spot - both baristas are always welcoming and warm. If you're able to stop by, do so!

Workers took about 30 minutes to get two matcha lattes and one chai out. Then it tasted horrible. Would not recommend at all.

Heard about them on Instagram. Found it interesting drinking coffee at a bar. So I went. I went in with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. I'll be back for the cafe de olla shaken espresso.
