Google
Fantastic food that serves wonderful green and red chili. Service was fantastic and great prices. Clean restrooms and a bar as well. Plenty of indoor seating and parking. Handicap accessible. Definitely worth the trip.

Google
Tonight was our first visit and definitely not the last. Food was bomb! So filling! Husband said it’s the fullest he’s been in a long time. We both ordered the taco plates. Bartender brought me a sample of his green chili margarita. It was really good with a little kick. Great customer service!! Will be returning!

Emilie

Google
The atmosphere is great completely empty abandoned building that is actually a restaurant. Unfortunately the food was really bad and unseasoned the chicken was cold on the inside like it had just been frozen and thawed. Not cheap either

Daniel Ensing

Google
It was a bit empty and run down on the patio. BUT the service and the food was absolutely amazing. Tonight was my first time but my wife has been a few times. We got the shrimp enchiladas, chips sampler, and the chili mac & cheese. There wasn’t a single thing that missed the mark. They also bring you fresh baked sopapilla and honey 🤯 soooo good 😋

Amrit Bilkhu

Google
Went to this restaurant for the first time with my friends tonight. The staff were so kind to us, they gave us honest recommendations for the menu, and the staff surprised my two friends for their birthdays by offering free desserts with birthday candles to blow out! It’s such a small gesture, but it’s the sweetest thing that will always make us remember this place. Thank you to Paige for giving us a great experience. All of the food was amazing and super filling. All at a great price too! Highly recommend.

Google
Weird Place. Full Bar and not open. Counter service was horrible, no attentiveness. Cook had to greet us and i was right i front of cashier. The food was so off. I couldn't even distinguish the flavors. I ordered the Chile relleno burrito and The green Salsa tasted fresh but too watery, no flavor whatsoever. The relleno was oddly crunchy and Cheese tasted old... Couldnt finish. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing

Google
I'm from New Mexico, living out here in Nevada for a few months and if there's once thing I from back home it's definitely the food! I have found it, Carlitos is the spot to go for your new Mexico food craving.

Google
Food is pretty damn good, hatch chilies are even better. pretty cool dudes working there when we went. plenty of tables available, but most of them needed to be bussed. Other than that, we will be back!

Larry N.

Yelp
Dave and his staff will be missed!! Hate to see them closed after 15+ years. Best in the valley!

Chris J.

Yelp
This was the best Mexican food in vegas but sorry to say it's closed now. They just sent out the email tonight

Melissa H.

Yelp
We were so dismayed to see that it had closed down for maintenance (?) Dave, when will you be reopening? So many of us want to know. This is truly the best New Mexican Mexican food you will ever eat unless of course - you're in New Mexico, or you cook if for yourself. We hope you reopen soon !

Millicent F.

Yelp
What a dirtbag - David Samuels, when a loyal customer over the years reaches out to tell your incompetent axx that your storefront is closed while business hours are showing open - take a more responsible approach other than saying "bye". What an idiot. No wonder you shut down. GOOD RIDDANCE.

Lora C.

Yelp
We are hearing they have closed is that true? I hope not best green chili on this side of the burgue

John P.

Yelp
Another great dinner at this restaurant. Best beef burrito smothered with green chille I've had in Las Vegas. Sopapilla and ground beef tacos also were excellent.

Mark O.

Yelp
I will also miss Dave and his crew. We would come in from San Diego 3 times a year and made sure to stop at least twice each time. Already making plans for a trip to Santa Fe but Carlitos will be missed.

Katharine A.

Yelp
Went closer to 1 pm for lunch. They weren't too busy and the place smelled delicious. I had the posole with pork. It was not tradition but had a great flavor. Heavy on meat, light on hominy. The dessert sopapillas are huge. I had one with sugar and cinnamon and it hit the spot! I will definitely try again the next time I am in Vegas.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
You will not think this place deserves four stars in less you know, and love New Mexican food like a New Mexican. If you think that green chili comes from Anaheim, stop reading and go to Taco Bell because you have no taste, and do not deserve to eat here. Hatch baby. All day long, all day strong. Nobody puts Hatch in the corner. This place has zero vibes, and the ambience is pretty damn tacky. The first smell that hits you when you walk in the front door is not the delicious sopapillas frying, or the beans with pork simmering, or the chili Verde, all lemony and delicious. What you smell is mop, water. It's bright as hell and cleaning supplies are stacked on the corner where you order and the tables need a disinfecting. Yet, I'd go back. Why? Because they get me. I am home here with the green chili, the chili stew, the chili relleno , and the french fries smothered in chili and cheese. The cheese is not great quality, but it's exactly what you'd get in New Mexico. The staff is super friendly, although it's hard to tell the difference between the customers and the staff because this place is crazy casual. The sopapillas are a bit too Dowie, and not quite golden enough and the chili stew was too thick and meaty but at least they're trying. You won't be disappointed if you love, New Mexican food

Veronica A.

Yelp
Calling all New Mexicans living in LV, Food is exceptionally delish. My mom was from Tucumcari, NM and the food here literally brought me to tears, haven't had a sopapilla since my Momma left us. I'd give it 5 stars, just not a fan of the ordering process and it was completely dead, but I think it is because more people need to stop thinking "Mexican" is the same as New Mexican cuisine. We had stuffed sopapillas, blue corn enchiladas and we did both, the green and red Chile.

Donna A.

Yelp
After hearing that Carlito's sold roasted Hatch Chile in August, we ventured to the other side of town to pick up a few pounds. We chose to have a late lunch since our go-to spot for New Mexican style cuisine closed during the Covid lockdown. It was about 3 pm so we were in between lunch and dinner so the restaurant was empty. We ordered at the register then proceeded to sit down. The restaurant was filthy with dirty dishes still sitting on top of many of the tables. I counted 17 table tops with dishes and leftover food from the lunch crowd. We saw 3 employees just standing around gabbing and looking at their phones. No one made any attempt to clear the old food. We ordered Dave's combo and Chiles Rellenos. Honestly we were underwhelmed. I think a lot of it had to do with how disgusting the interior and the dirty tables were. We have not been back. Maybe a bad day? Who knows, but someone needed to bus the tables. Pictures are of the tables!

Judd H.

Yelp
For the last 10 years Carlitos is still the best restaurant in LV hands down. It's the taste and fresh ingredients that make it so darn good!!

Blanca V.

Yelp
Always great food food just need better cashiers taking orders!! Being following them since they were on pecos and Patrick way. New Mexico great flavors.

Whitney G.

Yelp
Wow! I've been on the hunt for New Mexico style food, and the search is over. Ordered the stuffed sopapilla- it comes with 2 sides. Since it was our first time we thought about ordering an appetizer. When we asked if the portions were large the guy said "uhhh, yeah". He was spot on- large portions. LOTS of green Chiles in the Mac and cheese for a nice and spicy bite. The stuffed sopapilla was STUFFED with seasoned chicken and covered in the best green chile this side of New Mexico. And the fry bread with honey to finish (or to sop up the green chile on the plate)? Perfection.

Edwin M.

Yelp
Went in Friday around 11:30 am. Haven't been in for a couple of years. Being from NM, I was embarrassed of the only New Mexican cuisine Restaurant in town. Restaurant was filthy, dirty tables with used silverware sitting on empty tables, several tables had old used containers and trash on them. All the tables we went to sit at were dirty and needed wiped down. Tables had no organized patterned. The Restaurant looked rundown, old mismatched furniture and the decor was so outdated. The food was ok, used to be so much better. We asked the counter person taking our order what chile was hotter. He said the red was milder and the green was hotter.....it wasn't. I was embarrassed because this is the only restaurant from my home state and it looking like it had, and the food was so-so. I will not be back anytime soon. Owner needs to invest in this place. It could be so much better. When it was on Pecos/ Patrick, it was tiny, but it was so much nicer than this place.

Veronica C.

Yelp
Such a great find! New Mexico style and delicious. Friendly service and excellent spicy Michelada (drank before I could get a pic!). Authentic sopapilla made my day! Nice little market area. Dining area and tables dirty, but that was the only negative thing to say.

Fabian G.

Yelp
Being from New Mexico, this is the closest thing in town besides my own cooking. The food is truly NM and if your looking to stock up your freezer with green chile get it from here. This green chile blows smiths green chile out of the water. Keep up the good work and thanks for great green chile.

JemuelnleAnne M.

Yelp
Wow!!! As a native New Mexican who wanted a taste of home and brought some non native NM friends along, what a Uber disappointment and waste of my time and money. Dude at register seemed bothered by our party of 15, zero customer service and an attitude like it hurt to help us. The place was fairly empty, maybe 2 other tables and the food was awful. I ordered 3 plates as I bragged about NM food. It was bland, dry and unappealing. I left plates behind with a single bite taken and went to eat after. I was so sad and disappointed. Register guy maybe needs to find a new profession because he started the dinner off on a wrong foot with his "genio". It all makes sense why it was a ghost town in the place. New Mexico food is the best and I'd hoped to share our delicious dodo with friends, but it was an epic fail!!! #tryagin

Yelp
Finally made it over to Carlito's today! Been wanting to try here so bad and glad I was finally able to! I had chips with guac and salsa plus a smothered burrito with chili verde. I absolutely love the chips here and their salsa is fantastic! Guac was pretty good too! As for the burrito... I was so into eating it I forgot to take a pic! It was a big burrito and absolutely stuffed with pork. The chili verde was outstanding. I will definitely be back! I want to try the Navajo taco next time!

Michael S.

Yelp
Decided to go stress free for the 4th of July and ordered the Rib Dinner and Strawberry Shortcake kit and by-golly I was not disappointed...the ribs were easy to warm up and fall off the bone delicious, the green chili Mac and Cheese was so amazingly good (literally the perfect amount of heat), the coleslaw was very refreshing, and the chili cornbread so spot on (and even better with butter)...the Strawberry Shortcake kit topped the whole meal off with just the right amount of marinated strawberries and whipped topping and the biscuits were one of the best I have had but what I loved it wasn't overly sweet...can't wait until the next holiday so I can try something different

Tricia D.

Yelp
Best authentic NEW MEXICO STYLE FOOD We eat the on a regular basis because I can't get enough of their New Mexico Green Chilli, which they roast on site , if you miss New Mexican food this is your place , full bar, nice clean and charming inside, customer service is great , food is cooked and brought to your table, can't say enough good things. Stop by and enjoy, your welcome

James C.

Yelp
Best breakfast burritos in the valley - Full bar and Santa Barbara tri tip bbq. I get mine with 3 meats smothered with Christmas Red - Green - White

Bill C.

Yelp
Most awesome NM green chili. Awesome Navajo taco, amazing green chili Mac cheese, excellent pork verde!!! Large portions excellent taste!!!! Best thing from Burque!!! Odelay!!!!

Ryan M.

Yelp
I am from New Mexico and have gone to Carlito's for about as long as I can remember. Even back when they first started on Patrick. Food has always been great and always reminded us of home, but last couple of times I have gone the food has seemed to have gone down hill. Taste is bland and dry. I have no idea what they did to the Green Chile. It used to be chopped fresh and now is just a jelly type substance and looks more like snot or green chile goo. I'm sorry to say until they are able to go back to what made them so good, I will not be back.

Mee L.

Yelp
Was craving New Mexican food and heard this place was it but IMO it's meh.... We got the green chile burger lettuce wrapped and it was aight... also got the bacon breakfast burrito christmas (red and green chile) and it felt like something was missing... maybe we'll just come back when they roast chiles but that's it. Oh! And heads up they charge 4% surcharge for using credit cards. Hope you like it better than we did!

Jessica G.

Yelp
The only thing I ever order here is the pozole. It is hands down the best in town. Everytime I branch out and order something new I am strongly disappointed. The service is always meh and can at some times be just down right rude. So I usually just order To go instead. It's a nice restaurant inside wirh plenty of space.

Sally A.

Yelp
When you need your chile fix in Vegas, Carlito's is it! I love that they sell stuff to prepare at home too. The green chile stew with added cheese is my favorite when I am home sick. My husband loves the stuffed sopapillas and my sons love the enchiladas and the quesadillas.

Sarah T.

Yelp
So my boyfriend had heard from his boss that the breakfast burritos here were really good. I decided to give it another chance and try a different kind of meat in my breakfast burrito. We both got sausage and bacon in our breakfast burrito with red and green sauce on the side. Today they had a buy one get one free deal for breakfast burritos too. This breakfast burrito was actually so good, but their sauce is meh. I used leftover red sauce from don tortaco on the breakfast burrito, and it was amazing. I really liked that the hash browns were crispy and the eggs were very fluffy and good. They were also very generous with the amount of meat they put in. So now I know if I want a breakfast burrito, I can come here...just no chorizo ;)

Jesse C.

Yelp
New Mexico food at its best! Green chili stew yum Chips with green chili dip is to die for.

Stacy S.

Yelp
The best New Mexican food in Vegas! Every time we are on that side of town that's where we eat. We have them smother everything with their green chilies.

Carlos Q.

Yelp
Ufff... How do I start? I got the huevos rancheros - hash browns soggy full of grease. why are you deep frying the hash browns? -Plate dirty full of oil -melted cheese all over the plate not only on top of the food which made the dish look disgusting. Breakfast burrito w/chorizo -Again hash browns deep fried -to much meat in the burrito. Overall food I got lacks Flavor Texture Temperature Chef in charge needs to do something to elevate his food.

Trix N.

Yelp
I have picked up food from Carlito's a couple of times and thought the dishes I ordered were pretty good. The food transferred well and tasted great when reheated. The portions for takeaway were very generous and I had enough food for a couple of meals, which was great. Now, I am familiar with New Mexico style food and have always enjoyed the flavors. The dishes at Carlito's have the same wonderful tastes especially their Carne Adovada which was tender and flavorful. This has been my one of my favorite New Mexican dishes and Carlito's creates a very tasty version. I also tried their red and green sauces (Christmas style) and both were very good, although I would like to try it at the restaurant. It was good over my food when I brought it home, but I believe it would be better if I had it freshly served. I also tried and recommend their tamales and tacos, I really enjoyed the flavors of both. Carlito's is good and has a tasty menu with many side options, so there is something for everyone. Their takeaway is great too, especially if you order online and pick it up. Both times I have done that and my food was ready to go once I arrived. Carlito's is a great addition to Henderson's restaurants, especially if you are looking for something hearty and casual.

Lucky H.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant on our Vegas vacay. The food was excellent and the drinks were yummy! The employees were so helpful. So glad we stopped here. one of the better memories from our vacation. Will be back on our next trip.

Paul O.

Yelp
The food was a little bland but the service was excellent, the food needed more seasoning. In the Pozole it was only harmey corn and broth no meat in it at all.

Earnie G.

Yelp
It's NOT mexican food. If you come here expecting that, you're going to hate it (several reviews demonstrate that). This is NEW MEXIC(O)an food, as in from that state (and maybe southern Colorado too). It's like TexMex but NewMexMex. Expect something different. The emphasis is on the chiles in New Mexico, green and red. (You know the famous Hatch chile, right?) And you'll see that here. Super flavorful. Super tasty. But different. More spices. Deeper. Hotter (usually). Had to look for this place between trips to Vegas. They moved from a standalone location to sharing this location with a BBQ joint, but now the BBQ joint has closed. (Would be nice to see a current interior shot.) Still the same great food. New Mexican food. Try it. You might just love it.

Monique C.

Yelp
Absolutely slept on. Me and my husband are from New Mexico and this place really did our ancestors right. The food was absolutely amazing the green Chile tasted just like home. Green chile burgers is my weakness and this is one of the best I've had even for outside of New Mexico. They get their chile shipped from New Mexico so it as actually authentic real chile! I could go on and on about how good the food is but you just need to go there! The colors and furniture were all New Mexico and felt right at home. Our bartender Mike was so sweet and dope and told us some cool facts about the restaurant and the owner! And he made us the best green chile margaritas we will ever have! Can't recommend this place enough!

Jens E.

Yelp
I came here to eat a breakfast burrito and expected a Mexican style burrito, instead I got a diner style breakfast burrito. The potatoes in the burrito were hash browns, the eggs weren't fully cooked, the cheese wasn't melted, and the green chili wasn't that good. I don't recommend coming here for a burrito. Also, the front counter area is very dirty. There were dirty dishes on the table. The glass looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. I trusted yelp to help me find a place near my hotel to get a good breakfast. I choose poorly. You're better off hitting up one of those drive thru places.

Mary S.

Yelp
A great place to get food with the taste of the southwest. I am originally from El Paso, TX and it is extremely hard to find mexican restaurants in Las Vegas that have that same flavor. Carlitos is the one. They get their peppers from Hatch, New Mexico. I had their chile rellenos (one of my favorite dishes). I had one green chile and one red chile. I have never had a red chile relleno. It was delicious. It literally brought me back home. I forgot how spicy and hot the Chile's are. My spouse had their burrito which was massive. It also had the green chilis. Extremely good with a hot kick. For dessert I recommend their sopapillas. Most restaurants in vegas that serve sopapillas are flat. Carlitos sopapillas are extremely fluffy and light, like a pillow. Not to mention it was bigger than my hand. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for Mexican food.

Glenn F.

Yelp
Cashier is not friendly and not happy to see customers seems angry and pissed off for you wanting to halo breakfast at his restaurant With that attitude the food will no taste good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tracy M.

Yelp
So sad, this used to be such a great restaurant with good food. Now the food is an attempt at saving money, the atmosphere is strange and the owner is "not available" for days on end. It needs Restaurant Impossible desperately! Also, Dave the owner don't bother to respond you are ruining this restaurant

Chandler S.

Yelp
Been going to Carlitos burritos since we'll before the location change, and I can confidently say that the food is always amazing. For a New Mexican restaurant, this place has foods that I have yet to see on other menus and taste great. Service is always nice and responsive. It has a nice relaxed ambiance all throughout the day and is great for a Sunday breakfast. I highly recommend the Stuffed sopaipilla with pork chili verde, can't find it anywhere else!

Diandra R.

Yelp
Food was flavorful and came with a generous amount of protein. Sour cream for the nachos came on the side just like how we asked. Friendly cashier. Only hiccup was that it took me a hot minute to get my beer from the bar and settle my 2-drink tab (considering there were no other guests), and the beer was not served cold.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Introduced to this place by friends from Las Vegas. Great variety of sauces with the New Mexico green hatch chiles as the stars. Appropriate sized servings. Pork pasole and Tamales were my favorite. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant.

Kiki M.

Yelp
This place used to be so delish and we visited monthly. Authentic New Mexican taste. Our last visit, the food tasted old, the service was odd. I had to get up and ask someone for utensils, the tables next to us had trays with dirty dishes on them. The sopapilla was grey and doughy. Needless to say we are very sad and will not be coming back for a long while.

Jen T.

Yelp
Makes me sad to only leave 2 stars on a New Mexican restaurant but..... After a friend's recommendation and reading good reviews I decided I wanted Carlito's for Mother's Day. I'm a simple gal. Maybe it was an off day because it was slower for them but the food wasn't great. My son's tortilla sliders were dry and clearly reheated, my enchiladas with Red Chile lacked flavor and my husbands chicken was dry. Only 2 things were great, the sopapillas and the lady working the front. I hope this place can up their standard of quality because I'd love to return if the food gets better.

Cassandra S.

Yelp
We visited from SF, CA w my cousin who recommended this place. Mom was originally from Albuquerque. The sopapilla was hands down amazing! Half on the table in out a bag or not... it was delicious! Hahaha I ordered the stuffed sopapilla w pork and green chile! Wow! Soooo good! We loved it!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Service and cleanliness is AWFUL. When we walked in it was as if the staff was upset that we came in. Every single table was so Dirty and DO NOT drink the ice tea. The container that it's in is filled with a slimy substance. Def health hazard. After seeing the terrifying state of The restaurant we decided to not eat there. Probably saving ourselves from the repercussions of eating there.

Betty V.

Yelp
I am from New Mexico and have lived here three years searching for good New Mexican food. The food here was really disappointing . Sopapillas are doughy. Enchiladas were chewy and chili rellenos have a thick breading that did not taste good. I will never return. The search continues.....

Esau V.

Yelp
Super disappointed in the young guys working today. We have been coming here for years since they were at a previous location. Today the guy wearing the "you are enough" sweatshirt was very rude (ironic) who took our order, since their soda machine is out of service, we asked for water and he said that they wouldn't even offer glasses of water like usual and we had to buy bottled drinks. There was still a bar and still wouldn't offer water from there, saw a whole galon of iced tea in corner "but not offered" and looked like maybe it had sat there the "week the soda machine was out of service". The cashier sat there and ate while we ordered and seemed annoyed that we were disrupting him in between bites. When we went inside to eat, most of the table appeared dirty with crumbs. This place has really gone down hill, super disappointed as they used to be only place to get New Mexican cuisine.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Love this place!! Been coming here since DAY ONE, how dare you NM a-holes leave bad reviews. EVERY TIME I have had food from here I basically inhaled it. I worked at Chilto's and Si Señor in Las Cruces. Por favor, quit being chiples!
