Cake Boss Is Opening Another Bakery in NYC | Eater NY

"Set to open at 1500 Broadway (Seventh Avenue and West 43rd Street), Buddy Valastro is launching another outpost of his New Jersey-based Carlo’s Bakery in Times Square; it's nearly within eyesight of an existing Carlo’s Bakery at the Port Authority bus station on Eighth Avenue, and an opening date was not disclosed." - Erika Adams

Beautiful bakery and great tasting deserts. I got some cannolis, lobster tail, cupcake and cookies. Lobster tail was a 10/10. The inside tasted like ice cream as my wife stated lol. Overall great staple to pass by and grab some quick sweets.

A coworker told me she had a delicious slice of cake from here. So I decided to check the place out & got an eclair to take home. Way overpriced & not very good. The chocolate icing was the best part. There was hardly any cream inside. You’d be better off at almost any Italian bakery in Brooklyn for a fraction of the price. I probably should’ve got a slice of cake since that was what recommended to me. I stand corrected I had the other half of the eclair for breakfast & that side had a lot of cream. So I’d say only 25% of the eclair was missing cream.

I visited Carlos Bakery in Times Square and ordered a croissant, black coffee, and a slice of cake. Everything tasted great — the cake was soft and delicious, and the coffee was nicely balanced. The service was friendly and professional. Prices are a bit on the high side, but overall it was a pleasant experience and definitely worth trying, especially if you love pastries and coffee.

I was so excited to visit Carlo’s. The Bakery case were clean and the treats were beautiful. Unfortunately the cream puff had a strange flavor added to the cream. The napoleon wasn’t flaky but so hard we couldn’t cut it. The eclair are not filled completely. Overall for the money it was a total disappointment for our entire party.

Walk into dessert heaven… many options to choose from cakes to cookies to pastries. They even have Dubai chocolate items. Also have drinks that looked great but we didn’t try. A cute shop.

I’m just going to be honest. I don’t particularly care for chocolate but I’m inclined towards a German Chocolate Cake or a nice brownie as my chocolate of choice. I was just at the 625 8th Ave Port Authority location Tues. and they didn’t have the GCC but, they had a German Chocolate Cake Brownie OMG, I thought I was as close to hitting the lottery jackpot as far as dessert goes. I purchased it and a cup of Joe. I took a bite and while the top tasted good the brownie was very had and not moist. I took a swig of coffee and I’m not a coffee person but, it was a coffee day not hot like warm at best. I don’t like to complain and attempted another bite worst than the first 😞 I waited for the line to clear and informed the girl that the brownie isn’t fresh at all she requested to see it, went in the back and said ok get something else. I asked how much the donuts were and she said 3something. I asked for 2 jelly and I would pay for the few cents difference she said no only 1. No change did I receive and the attitude was not warranted when you served me old food. I didn’t want to debate. Now the raspberry jelly was very good and soft I took a piece off less than half and passed the rest over to my son. Coffee where it belonged in the trash bin.

We stopped by while we were around, and it seemed very good. The staff were so friendly, and I was excited. I ended up getting the matcha with strawberry foam, and to be honest, I was very disappointed. The matcha tasted like strawberry milk with a lot of sugar and green food dye. The straw foam tasted like Starbucks’s strawberry foam. At least Starbucks’s matcha tastes like matcha.

It’s okay. But would not recommend it. Staff is super nice and helpful, the problem is the food. Nothing is fresh, things are dry and have a stale flavor. The cannoli was horrible. Wanted to try because of the hype but it’s not worth it at all!
