20 Best and Most Iconic Desserts in Las Vegas

"Buddy Valastro’s Carlo’s Bakery at the Venetian has been making lobster tails since the bakery launched more than 100 years ago. The delightfully flaky pastry is filled with French cream, a custard folded with whipped cream." - Janna Karel

The Best Cakes in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"Leave it to Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss, himself — to make a good cake. At Valastro’s Las Vegas bakery, order cakes like his iconic rainbow creation with six layers of rainbow-colored vanilla cake filled with sweet vanilla icing and covered with rainbow sprinkles. Or order the carrot cake made with freshly shredded carrots and finely chopped walnuts in a cream cheese icing. Note that the vending machine versions of this cake are no substitute — you want to order from the bakery, itself." - Janna Karel

Very underwhelmed. I was excited to go here, but the staff are not really friendly. I ordered a lobster tail and a strawberry shortcake but received a lobster tail and a cheesecake. The lobster tail cream filling was plentiful and good, but the outer crust was too hard and crunchy. I expected something a little fluffier. The cheesecake they mistakenly gave me was not good. The cream cheese seemed like a curdled texture and not smooth. Not to my liking. I wouldn't return.

The only reason why I'm giving this bakery. A four star review instead of a five is the fact that there is no form of organization when it comes to ordering. I had multiple people order before me, even though I was standing there initially. And to be open and on, is it really isn't the fault of the employee at the counter, but most people coming inside of here have no clue where to go, where to stand so they just walk up. So when she looks up and yells, who's next and someone steps up that's who she serves. I do understand and do take an account at the fact that this is probably an easier way for the bakery themselves, but it's a huge inconvenience for customers. Now, on to the great part about this bakery. It's Las Vegas so of of course, everything is Las Vegas prices that can be helped. We ordered two items and they were pretty pretty good. We had the treslaches and the white chocolate mouth, which was so rich in flavor. You can tell that it was baked that day and not days old. I would suggest eating it immediately or within the next 15 minutes. As those items do not hold, they're cold temperature very long. We walked around for a bit. And when we returned to the hotel room, maybe there thirty minutes later they were both room temperature. It was definitely worth trying, and I did enjoy them.

Google
Neat little shop that has a large variety of desert type dishes. We tried the strawberry shortcake cake slice. The cake was really soft and spongy, the whipped cream melted in your mouth, and the strawberries tasted so fresh. We even saved some for a few days later and it tasted just the same. Would definitely recommend!

Google
There is no flow to ordering at this location that’s my biggest complaint. You tell them what you want then you’re sent to another line to pay. A little unorganized. I had a sugar cookie that tasted like Buddy made it. I was so excited. I tried a cannoli too. It was really good. I wish I would’ve ordered more cookies.

Treats were good. The lemon donut needed more lemon filling but it was still delicious. The butter croissant 🥐 was amazing.

Dessert Heaven! Carlos sure knows how to bake. Everything was delicious. Service was a little slow. They had only 1 rep. It was a busy morning. She was so good. It was worth the wait.

Google
The shop is pretty and we made a trip over to visit. They have two lines, one to order and one to pay. We jumped in line, looked a the beautiful pastries and deserts, gave our order (cinnamon roll, creme brulee pocket, macha tea and a black coffee) and were then asked to step into line two. We excitedly paid and then were told to stand to the side (where they would call our name, guess this means there is an unofficial third line). Here is where the problems start. They made our macha tea and left it to the side. We told the cashier the drink was ready and she responded that they are really busy (wtf) and did not move from the register that had no other patrons. After a few minutes they called our name for the pastries. We took them and asked for our drink ( still on the counter) and the coffee. She replied they will call when it was ready. We again advised it was ready and on the counter. Nope, not going to leave the safe haven of the register. At this point other people were asking what was going on and we all started laughing that the drink had been sitting there. We grabbed another employee and told them what was going on and if they could get our drinks. He was nice and said yes, brought the coffee and a new macha tea (because the other one was thrown away by another employee since the drink was just sitting there). We finally sat down and tried the pastries….and they were dry. We are definitely not coming back

I come here every time I visit the strip. 10 years ago I would say this is one of the best cookie places I’ve been to, the last 3 years? Starbucks is starting to look like a better spot for chocolate chip cookies AND service. Today I visited and I asked the woman (quite kindly actually) if I could have the cookies with the ‘most’ chocolate chips.. begrudgingly, she said stand over there and wait to be called, sure enough she gave me the ones with the least chocolate chips. (What?) there were obviously 15-20 cookies to choose from. The special quality and service of Buddy holly is not what it used to be. They used to be happy, excited and optimistic. Today? They had one very kind boy and 2 older SOUR ladies… Not the face I would want to put to the nature of this business. And please please please bring the quality back to where it used to be! 🙏🏻 Here’s a picture of the cookies “with the most chocolate chips” below-

Yelp
The canoli are ok. Tried the chocolate dipperd, peanut butter and dubai canoli. Decent flavors but it was clear they were.made hours ago. Fornthe price, I would have expected them to be filled.upon order. Also teied the carrot cake which is aerved shrink wrapped. It was also ok. Nice, friendly ataff. Wasn't worth the price or drive.

Yelp
I was not happy. After years of watching 'the cake boss' I could not believe this was the product they shipped. It has to be the fact that they weren't fresh. the cakes wrapped with a cardboard, then cellophane, then into a styrofoam box and dry ice ...finally the shipping cardboard. Maybe necessary, but a Hugh waste. The icing fell off the red velvet which was just sweet. the cake was dryish. the carrot cake was so plain my guests thought it was my usual box cake. Go to Jersey, get it fresh and help save the earth.

Yelp
Yummy in my tummy. I had an apple pocket. I brought it home. Popped it in my air fryer for 2 minutes and oh my was it delicious. I love the apples inside and i love the flaky crust. Its much lighter then it looks and sounds. Try it it's big enough to share but you wont want too lol

Yelp
Carlo's Bakery is located in the Venetian Hotel, upstairs, at the Canal Shops. They sell a variety of baked goods. Lots of cakes and desserts are available in the cold cases, ready to be served, eaten at the premises, or packaged carefully for to go. Their huge kitchen/bakery is right next to the shop, where you can see how they make their products. Sometimes you can watch how a gigantic wedding cake is being decorated. It's a great place to experience how the bakery works! Service is quick and easy. Last time I ordered a Hazelnut LINZER Cookie. Unfortunately, it was very dry. I had difficulty eating it. The cashier saw me struggling with the pastry and offered me a glass of water. Regardless of the beautiful looking pastries, I had a bad experience. I didn't complain about it. I'm pretty sure next time I'll try something different from Carlo's Bakery, maybe a carrot cake or something. I'll definitely give another try again.

Yelp
Don't waste your time it is not like New York. Complete incompetent people that will not communicate with you and they still expect a tip when they do nothing. They should close this location. It absolutely does not meet the standards. Do not waste your time in Las Vegas here.

Yelp
This place did not live up to the hype service was good and team were super friendly and had great recommendations. They have a bakery inside where you can watch them ice and pipe. However the velvet and chocolate wasn't as fresh as I would like it to be. Felt like it had been sitting there for few days. Maybe it was an off day but will give this place another try.

Yelp
As a fan of Cake Boss, I was excited to try this place. Location- it's tucked away but right across his restaurant so it's convenient. It's a small shop so I can see it getting crowded Service- average. Nothing special. They weren't rude so that's a plus. Food- I got the cannoli and an oatmeal cookie. The cannoli was good. I like the crispy texture on the outside BUT I found it overly sweet for my tastebuds. Same goes for the cookie. Just overly sweet. Drink some milk with it (or non dairy) for sure.

Yelp
After a delicious dinner at Buddy V's, I decided to check out the bakery across the way. I was very excited to try out the Cake Boss bakery! Unfortunately I was left less than impressed. I got the cannoli, creme brûlée pastry, and a vanilla cupcake. I haven't had a lot of cannolis but I didn't like it at all, the cupcake tasted like a menagerie of other flavor in the bakery case (like it had been sitting too long and had time to absorb the taste of things next to it), the creme brûlée pocket was decent, I had it the next day. It wasn't so good I'd order it again though. It was extremely overpriced (like everything on the strip) and I left disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
We always get a few cannolis, chocolate dipped strawberries, and Italian butter cookies. All are delicious. We've also tried a chocolate cake slice and cupcake and I can't say I would buy them again. The cake had an unusual aftertaste as if simple syrup was drizzled on it to keep it moist and the cupcake frosting is very thick and also has an unusual aftertaste. We've been in luck the last few times as there hasn't been much of a line but you can expect one even though it does move quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
I placed an order through Uber eats and quickly discovered... I'll never do that again got 2 cupcakes they were ok but the cake No Bueno! This is basically frozen cake that has been thawed out and sold to us at a premium price. ** oh they substituted items and one package wasn't completely sealed... after looking at other reviews I see that its the same cake as in the vending machines....ummm I'm cool on that

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim. Checked out and paid but waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks. We told the cashier that our drink was on the counter behind her, twice. But she got frazzled with the growing line and said they're just busy. I could clearly see that and would have gladly reached back there to get my own drink. Then, they threw it out because it was sitting out so long and we had to wait again for them to remake it. The matcha latte was watery and flavorless. The strawberry açaí overly sweet. The pastries were just ok (cinnamon roll and cream brûlée pop tart) Plain black coffee was good, although we also waited over 20 minutes for that. Overall, a let down and we shall not be going back.
google avatar

Janine C.

Yelp
Growing up, I was obsessed with Cake Boss. My little brother and I would watch it and we would try to convince our parents to take a trip to the east coast so we could try the bakery. I remember a few years ago when we visited Vegas I saw the bakery but did not get the opportunity to try any of the pastries. I was surprised however, there was no line. The location is prime. On my latest visit to Vegas, I made it my mission to try a few pastries from the bakery. I order (2) slices of cake, chocolate covered strawberries, Lobster tails and (2) strawberry eclairs. The cake was dry. The chocolate covered strawberries were...okay. There was no flavor and the strawberries were not sweet at all...just water. The lobster tails and strawberries eclairs were probably the best things on the menu. I did let them sit out a little to let the pastry soften up. The customer service was good and quick. Would I come back again? Maybe if I was really craving something sweet.

Yelp
I've watched Cake Boss since it came out and watched every episode of it. Buddy was like a role model for me because he was a great entrepreneur and at the same time displayed great family values and tradition. I came to Vegas and came to his bake shop first time and Amber helped us. She was such an amazing person that I felt I was living the show. She was extremely friendly told us everything about the pastries and made us feel welcomed. We had two boxes of the lobster tails. Thank you!
google avatar

Shailey S.

Yelp
I tried the lobster tail and classic cannoli, get the lobster tail! I mean the flaky crisp pastry with a custard filling was just amazing, but you need to like that flavor to enjoy it. The selection was amazing and I had to try the cannoli, to say I did. But the cannoli could have been better, and it had too much filling in my opinion. The service was good, I interacted with only one sweet employee who helped so much! Very much appreciated. It's a small dessert shop and the line goes fast, it is right across the restaurant so you can probably get a few of these desserts if you sat down for dinner.
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
This place is overrated. The cake was absolutely disgusting. We also got the chocolate cannoli, which was the only thing that was somewhat decent. I paid about $20 for the worst cake slice and mediocre cannoli. The ambience is very nice with the cakes at the top look super cool! I would recommend you to walk past this place because it's a trap!!
google avatar

Genevieve M.

Yelp
So many pastry options to choose from. It just so happened that Buddy V (from the Cake Boss show) happened to be at his own shop as an added bonus.
google avatar

Gavin H.

Yelp
We came here on a whim as we wanted something salty and sweet and saw a pecan chocolate chip cookie that looked good in a cute looking bakery. Sadly, we do not recommend. The cookie itself was okay. Honestly, pillsbury cookies that you get at Kroger are better. The service was... okay... both workers did not seem like they wanted to be there and you have to wait in two lines which didn't make any sense. The worst part, the cone cookie was over $5, totally ridiculous. This cookie at best is worth $1 as you barely get any pecan flavor. Overall, please avoid. Hope this review can warn others until service is better and/or they lower prices to make it worth your while.

Yelp
Had the lobster tail and what can I say. It is the perfect pastry. The crust flakes off as u bite, then ur mouth experiences a burst of flavor from the sweet French cream. When I was in NY a few years back I went to the original bakery in Hoboken because I had to try these. I realized they are not overrated. I have had these on 4 occasions and the quality is always good.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! And fresh. Line moved very quickly, highly recommend. Will return and recommend

Yelp
I, like many patrons, grew up watching Cake Boss religiously and would long to try the delightful treats I saw on my screen. So when I found myself at a work conference in the Venetian, literal minutes away from Carlo's Bakery, I cleared my schedule and booked it there. It took me a minute to find it and because it was a random weekday afternoon, there was no one else at the shop. I got the chocolate crossiant, chocolate canolli, and the strawberry eclair. I also got an iced chai to help me gulp it all down. I got my box of goodies, paid, and ran back to my room in anticipation. It started going downhill once I opened the box and realized one the pastries I paid for was missing. I was on a time crunch and couldn't go back to the bakery to get a replacement so I was pretty bummed out. As for the other items: - The chocolate crossiant was a littly dry and borderline stale - I wish the cream in the ecalir has a more whipped cream texture - The chai def came from a concentrate and wasn't worth the price tag Overall, I was dissapointed which I think is a common theme when peopel meet their heroes (or in my case, eat something they've seen on tv). If you're a big Cake Boss fan, it might be worth it but it's NOT a must.
google avatar

Carrie W.

Yelp
I don't understand the mediocre reviews. We tried the crème brûlée pastry pocket and the lobster tail. The pastry pocket was tasty, but the lobster tail was phenomenal! Crispy pastry with a light whipped cream inside. It's hands down the best pastry I've ever eaten. So good!!
google avatar

Ash R.

Yelp
As a fan of cake boss, I knew I had to come. It's hidden away at the very end of the venetian and is a bit hard to find. The line was long but went quickly. A slice of cake, however, is around 8 or so dollars. The cake is aggressively mediocre, imagine a store bought generic vanilla cake. You're paying a premium because of the Cake Boss show, but other than that, this cake isn't very memorable. I'd pass on going in the future.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
At the bottom of the Venetian tucked away in a corner, you'll find Carlo's Bakery. Anyone that's ever watched Cake Boss will easily recognize the red and white decor and all of the sweet offerings Carlos's Bakery has to offer. I ordered the lobster tail, the cannoli, and a cream puff. Just a note; if you aren't a dessert lover, but love the show, don't be surprised with how much sugar there is in each pastry! I would advise spreading your treats out and having a bite here and there as you're walking through the Grand Canal.

Yelp
My wife and I traveled to Las Vegas for the first time without our own car, so visiting the main bakery location was not on our list for this trip, but to my surprise there was a vending machine for cake at the airport!!! SCORE!!! When we arrived we purchased a slice of Red Velvet cake. It was a good size slice. Good enough for the 2 of us to share when we made it to our hotel. The vending machine even has a fork dispenser on the side of it. So we could have eaten our cake in the car if we wanted to! $8.95 a slice is what it will cost you. Pricey....but it's Vegas Baby! On the trip back home we decided to pick up a few slices for the kids to take home. The kiosk says that the cake is delivered to the machine daily. Not sure if this is true, but both times it was fully stocked. And in all the slices we had, all of them tasted fresh and delicious. The vending machine is limited to only cake by the slice. Had there been other items, I would have probably gone broke!

Yelp
Meh, I was so excited to try the cannoli because I used to watch Cake Boss. I thought it was so cool that I could try it in Las Vegas. We went for the cannoli and oh my...not what I expected. Mind you, this is my first cannoli so maybe I just don't like cannolis. It tasted oily and the cream inside wasn't that tasty or creamy. Disappointed is what I can say from my experience. Maybe the other desserts tastes better?

Yelp
It's a good thing we don't live near here or we would get fat so quick from this place. If we had found this place the beginning of the week we would've been back every day. My favorites were the strawberry eclair and the nutella cookie. I didn't liek the coffee eclair because I don't like biting into chocolate. I would've returned to get those other two things over and over. And try other stuff. to make my wife happy. she likes it when we try new things.
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
I used to watch the show so I loved having the chance to grab some things from here. It was really hard to find because the directions I had were just bad and no one seemed to know where it was. But we found it eventually!! The Strawberry Eclair was the best thing I ate here. It was so freaking delish omg. The Nutella Linzer was not good on the first bite but it gets much better as you eat it. I didn't like the Classic Cannoli but I could tell it was made well. I have tried cannolis everywhere and I think I can finally say I just don't like them. If I don't like one from here either, it really means I must not like them at all. I also didn't like the Caramel Latte Eclair. I'm not a big coffee person and that's pretty much all I could taste. I'm really glad we got to eat here and I will definitely be back to eat more stuff! Loved: - Strawberry Eclair Liked: - Nutella Linzer Disliked: - Caramel Latte Eclair - Classic Cannoli

Yelp
Carlo's bakery is a must visit for me while visiting Las Vegas. I am always totally looking forward to buying a lobster tail - lol. They are just too good and tasty to pass up! But believe me- whatever you choose to get from the bakery: you cannot go wrong! The modern bakery has a large window on one side where you can actually see the pastry chefs baking! So cool! The service was very nice and answered all of my questions I had about some items with a smile.

Aida A.

Yelp
I had a really disappointing experience at Carlos Bakery. From the moment I walked in, the person behind the counter was extremely rude and dismissive. There was absolutely no sense of customer service--no greeting, no help, just attitude. The place didn't feel welcoming at all. On top of that, the baked goods were stale and poorly presented. Nothing about this visit was enjoyable. I won't be coming back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Avoid if you're looking for good service and quality.. not even 1 is too much for this place . 0% recommend.

Yelp
Seems like the hype is over. Sorry. Quality/Quantity - We got: pumpkin chocolate dipped cannoli, caramel latte eclair, and a lobster tail. Okay, as usual we over ordered... Then due to all the sweetness, I needed another cup of coffee, so we walked over to the Coffee Bean. All was good. We are still loyal customers even though I feel we eat way too much of Carlo's pastries. Even my daughter is limiting herself to only 1 a day. Atmosphere - Small take-out location. However, you can see the bakers work through major glass windows. But his Buddy V's Ristorante across the bakery is huge. Service - 5 stars today. Price - Approximately $25, which I now consider pricey since the hype is over. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success! From all your television shows to being a producer, and of course all 20+ bakeries and 3+ restaurants with 1500 employees.

Yelp
A fun stop in Vegas!! Located in the Venetian, as soon as you walk in the bakery you smell all the yummy sweet baked goods and see a large case of incredible pastries, cake slices, cookies, cupcakes and more! I had the famous rainbow cake with white icing and sprinkles. The cake was light, airy, moist, and the frosting was not too sweet with great vanilla flavor. Excellent cake and such a pretty rainbow color. The packaging made it seem it may of not been made on site, but none the less it was fresh tasting. The lobster roll had endless layers of crunchy chewy pastry filled with lighter than air vanilla cream. When you take a bite be prepared to have powdered sugar all over. But hey - that's the experience of it all!

Yelp
During our recent short stay in Las Vegas, we would often take an early walk inside a particular casino complex. The first morning was Caesar's Palace and its many shops (all before open time) and the 2nd was at the Venetian. We really hadn't had much of a breakfast during the last morning, so we were fortunate to walk by Carlo's at the Venetian shops. I believe that the original Carlo's was opened in North Jersey in 1910 and has since spread its wings (and ancestor likeness) throughout the Las Vegas Strip (and maybe beyond). Gayle and I both enjoyed our selections (Linzer cookie for me and a croissant breakfast sandwich for her). It was one of those tasty right time and place moments.

Rosa M.

Yelp
Lobster tail was amazing. The filling was abundant and the shell like exterior was crispy and delicious.

Yelp
Pastry Lobster tail is where it's at! We stop here every time we come to Vegas and get 2 lobster tails so we brought all our friends here to try one as well. They all loved it! Flaky croissant style pastry shaped like a lobster tail with oodles of flavorful pastry cream inside of the tail. Yummm! One friend bought an extra one to take home. Must stop!

I honestly don't like anything from this bakery other than the cannoli. The cakes are just good for looks. The lobster tail is so hard to eat and it's dry ... dry like toast! The cakes all taste the same and the rainbow cakes taste like food coloring . The service is a little weird , you pick what you want ... wait to the side, then you pay go back to the side for the cashier to tell you to that they are going to box your items .... Not sure what the first persons job is.... Didn't they take my order and pack my pickiness? It started to get a little crazy and crowded ... there is no organization. The store is too tiny for this kind of service .

Yelp
I, like many others who have posted, came here because of my love of the show. After reading the reviews I chose to only get a cannoli - a chocolate covered one. Sadly, I've had a significantly better one at my local grocery store. The cannoli cream was super grainy as others have reported. Save your money unless you just wanna come in for the novelty of it, like we did.

Yelp
The desserts are good but nothing spectacular, and overpriced, IMO. It was $45 for 4 items. You place an order, then wait on the side for your items to be packaged and name to be called to pay.

Yelp
If I was Buddy I would be embarrassed for his fans to try these pastries. We had the cannolis. All four of us did not like them. It's sad to know that they don't care about how their food tastes. I think the only reason they are still open in Vegas is because people come to Vegas and try only once.

Yelp
The cannoli was good. It kind of reminded me of NYC's lil Italy. The cheesecake was okay. I wanted to try a slice of cake, obviously, since he's known for his cakes. I was bummed out that they're prepackaged. It didn't look eye pleasing, so I decided to get the cannoli instead.

Yelp
The Pistachio cannoli was slightly softer than crunchy, and the regular cannoli was nice and crispy.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy Buddy's bakery, but honestly might pass next time I'm back in Vegas because it didn't seem special! I got a lobster tail pastry, after seeing Buddy defeat Duff Goldman in one of their pastry competitions with his lobster tail. The exterior was so crispy and reminded me of a shell. The cream filling had a smooth texture and the right amount of sweetness. But maybe I just don't like lobster tail pastries (or it isn't worth the hype) because it didn't taste special to me. I would have given a 3 star rating but you can tell that pastry was well-made, so I'll bring my rating back up to 4. Also don't like where this was located since it was hard to find. It's at the end of the shopping area in a hallway/tunnel leading out of the Venetian.

Yelp
We have came here every year for the last 4-5 years and will never go back. I got the blonde and it was dried out and hard. My daughter got the colorful cake and it comes prepackaged and is awful. The cake used to be so moist and flavorful we would wait in line for an hour. Not sure what happened but it was dry and gross. This was such a disappointment. We used to love going here as we love Cale Boss but this will be the last time. Service was great and the desert looks good. Taste wise.... Absolutely not!

Yelp
This place is beyond overrated. We come here every time we visit in hopes it will be better and it's a bad experience every.single.time. The woman was rude in the front and this other worker in the very OPEN kitchen was on her phone. Having your personal phone in the kitchen is beyond unsanitary. Won't be coming back.

Yelp
After a lunch at the Wynn, me, my blushing bride and our offspring had dessert at Carlo's Baker Shop. Always a great looking display of pastry. We've looked before and this time we actually ate. I love to watch Buddy on TV... that talent... that creativity... that slightly abrasive New Jersey Italian attitude. Slightly arrogant and a lot of fun. It pays to understand the context! The pastry all looks so good that choosing one is really difficult. So when decisions need to be made and indecision results... eat a cannoli! The process is a fascinating study in cueing. One line to select and order, then (moving like a spawning salmon swimming upstream) go back to the beginning to another line to pay and collect your goodies. All rather efficient. The cannoli was crisp and the filling was smooth. Only slightly sweet. They were generously filled. All good attributes of a cannoli. There was a noticeable influence of cinnamon, which is not my favorite in a cannoli. These were pretty good, though. I know I've had better cannoli's in Philadelphia - Isgro and Termini Bros. But guess what... I'm in Las Vegas at the moment and not Philadelphia! I'd gladly return to eat more of Buddy V's sweet treats!
