Last year, a more-is-more Christmas meet-up at this Marylebone spot involved langoustine and crab risotto, a yule log—supersized, with spiced cinnamon and nutmeg—and tipsy selfies with the virgin mary statue in the bathroom. This Italian spot in Marylebone is busy with people taking pictures of themselves in all the mirrored surfaces and the more-is-more, lavish space. Some of the dishes are hit and miss, so our go-to is the creamy fettuccine alfredo al tartufo for two. But the dramatic interiors and bathroom taps straddled by a virgin Mary statue are a not-so-subtle hint that you’re not really here for the food.
