Carlson Creek Vineyard, Scottsdale Tasting Room

My favorite spot for wine & wine tastings in Scottsdale! All of the wines are delicious and unique -- a standout favorite is the Malvasia Bianca. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! My boyfriend and I have been a part of their wine society for 3 years now and we absolutely love it! It's such a great value for the quality + price. Could not recommend Carlson Creek more!

We stopped by for a tasting and charcuterie board. We had such a great experience, the staff was fantastic and very knowledgeable. This was our first Arizona based winery experience and it was wonderful, can't wait to visit again!

Mark and Marcus are very knowledgeable about the grapes and vintages and provide a running commentary on what they are pouring. If you want to know more just ask. More importantly, have not had a wine I did not like. Always an enjoyable wine tasting. You’d be hard “pressed” not to join their club.

Excellent tasting! Our host was fantastic! What a great find out in Arizona. We’re not expecting to find wineries and good tasting experiences. Happened to stumble upon this while an old Scottsdale. The wines were really good and the host could not have been more fun and engaging. He definitely knew his wines.

The wine here is incredible. Ambiance is so lovely. The people working here great! Ended up going home with several bottle! Wine here is surprisingly affordable!

We stopped in at Carlson Creek Winery and we were attended to by Marcus. Marcus was entertaining, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about the wines he was serving and the wine industry in general. Carlson Creek Winery is an absolute stop! You will not be disappointed!!

My wife and I stumbled on this fantastic wine tasting room and we had an outstanding time. The glasses of wine were absolutely tasty and fresh. Marcus & Zack were excellent hosts, great we had great conversations. An excellent experience. We learned a little about Carlson Creek and their awards won in the past and in how the business is growing. This tasting room is well worth your time and money in Old Town Scottsdale.

Stopped by while waiting for the Van Gogh exhibit, and truly enjoyed my experience and the wine. Taylor helped us with our tasting and learn more about their wine and brand. Had a great time and found my new favorite wine, Rule of Three. Looking forward to stopping in again.

An enjoyable visit on the Scottsdale Wine Trail! The tasting room here is nicely set up with plenty of seats and high tops. The hosts here were very patient taking us through a brief tasting after which we relaxed and enjoyed a couple glasses. I enjoyed their whites, especially the dry Riesling. Often rieslings made in the US are too sweet for my tastes, even if they call themselves "dry." Theirs was very refreshing and had a sophisticated taste. We're glad that this tasting room is here, saving us a trip to Willcox!

Fun find! If you're feeling like wine tasting in the desert and walking around near shops and the mall- Carlson Creek is the place. Mark is amazing. He made our experience with wine that much better. He is personable and a great time! They offer a tasting menu where you can choose your own tastings and also offer wine glasses.

This was our last stop on the wine trail bc we were getting hungry. This one was a bit more popping than the others. A bachelorette party even popped in and bought a round for the house, #thankyou. Here's what we got Carlson Creek - Rule of Three - Malbec Rose - Dry Riesling - Mourvedre Can't go wrong with wine flights.

Had a great time with Zack at the bar. He was attentive, made great recommendations. Ended up buying two bottles. Great atmosphere.

It was so fine to wine taste here! Prices are soo incredibly reasonable, the wines are good, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly! I loved the space as well not too large that it's chaotic but not too small of a space that you feel crammed in.

Cool spot to grab a drink and chat with friends. Bartenders are very knowledgeable of the wines they have and offer great recommendations when in doubt.

My favorite tasting room in old town. It's simple and laid back. No snooty servers or hostesses. The guys behind the bar always have the technical details on the wines, and are willing to give you their opinions when asked. There's enough space for bigger groups, or if you're on your own the bar always seems to have a seat available.

Service not good unless at the bar. Quite disappointed as the only option was a table and the two working were more interested in bar patrons.

We really enjoyed our time here tasting. Our server was attentive and had a wonderful personality. Certainly, made us feel at home. As locals, we have been searching for a wine room in the area to join to share with our friends and family. We enjoyed the lighter varietals and Sangiovese and We can't wait to come back for release parties and future tastings

A very laid back and intimate wine tasting spot. There were a handful people there while we visited, yet it was still a really nice and relaxed environment and it was pretty quiet. The staff were very kind and knowledgeable and did a great job picking out wines based on one's taste preferences. The decor was cute and had a rustic style. There were a variety of seating options and different rooms to choose from. A lovely place to swing by for wine tasting!

Came here during a visit to Scottsdale and did a 5 wine tasting. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting room felt super approachable. Their wines were good, and it was overall a fun experience. Ambiance is casual but clean and comfortable.

We went to Carlson Creek on our bachelorette weekend. They accommodated our party of 9 right away, and the service was great! Marcus was attentive, knowledgeable, and so much fun! He listened to our preferences and brought us some amazing tastings. I would highly recommend this little tasting room. The room itself is bright and welcoming. The service was exceptional. The red wines were delicious!

Such a fun weekend plan. $5 wines for $18 (it says $15 online so they need to fix that). They take reservations but we didn't even need one. Our server Zach was sweet and worked hard. I definitely reccomend for a fun girls day!

5 of us came in and only 3 of us did $12 tasting of 5 wines. They also have soda. We only did the reservation 5 minutes prior but it was fine. The server used the same glass for each wine. There's about 5 whites and 5 reds so if you only like 1 style of wine this might not be for you. Most of them were slightly drier. The staff member wore a Bear's jersey and cargo shorts which juxtaposed the decor but able to list all of the ingredients or flavors for each wine.

Stopped by for a tasting. Great price for $12 but you get what you pay for. The server used the same glass for each wine ... looked like they were doing that for everyone. We also had the cheese board which was good. Servers seemed knowledgeable but every person was kinda getting the same conversation so I'm not sure if its a scripted thing or not (didn't bother me much). Again you get what you pay for if you're not a wine snob its a great place to check out for the price for dates etc but I wouldn't call it a real "tasting"

Vino! How could you go wrong? My family and I came here while out of town family was here. The space is a bit small, but it's nice. Almost all of us did the wine flight, which was great! My pours were smaller than my husband and sisters, which was a bit odd. The space was clean and the person helping us was nice enough. I love the open space of the tasting room. Would come back if we were in the area!

If you know me you know I'm a wine lover and spend a lot of time in wineries. While in Scottsdale we were referred to Carlson Creek Winery by a AZ local Yelp friend Christa L. We were pleasantly greeted By Ms Wendy. We learned about the AZ grapes and the Wilcox Wine Country area just outside of Tucson. Wilcox area is where thier grapes mostly come from. They have a vineyard and tasting room there. The elevation if memory serves me is just under 2000 feet. Much cooler there than the desert floor and conducive for good grape growth. We will be making a road trip out there soon. The tasting room in Scottsdale is very nicely decorated with wine art and overstuffed couches and a nice wine bar. Great atmosphere here! The wines are fabulous and coming from me a wine snob it's good information.....lol. but pallets are like noses aren't they everybody has one. But no kidding the wines are deserving of your time for sure. We loved the Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Sangiovese. We bought bottles of all three! Cheers!

Wherever we go we always seek out wine tasting. Carlson Creek's tasting room was one recommended by our Arizona Yelp friend, Christa L. It pays to have local Yelp friends who are in the know, like Christa, because Carlson Creek was a great recommendation! Wendy, our server, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I really appreciated her help keeping track of which wines I liked, which can be a real challenge after having a few tastings (hum, did I like the 2013 or 2014 better, that kind of help). I was very impressed with everything I tasted of both whites and reds. The vineyards are located in Wilcox Wine Country, which is southeast of Scottsdale and where the elevations is higher and climate is cooler. I didn't realize there were so many vineyards in Arizona. The tasting room is a cool and comfortable place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. We bought a few bottles to take home. Thank you Christa for the recommendation!

Cheers Last Thursday was full of delight. I enjoyed great conversation, wine complimented by a charcuterie board @carlsoncreek This is a family owned business located in Scottsdale AZ. Great location to start a girls night or date night. Sam and John were awesome hosts. John's knowledge regarding wines was impeccable. During my visit, there wasn't a crowd. I would still recommend a reservation. The .... was not bad. Surprisingly, my favorite was the 2018 Mourvèdre. This wine had many levels. I would return for the great customer service. Definitely explore the area for dinner options after wine tasting. I decided to wear a casual matching outfit from @hm complimented by designer accessories. My shoes are @francosarto This outfit was the perfect 'get up and go out' due to the nature of the placement. The color is neutral yet chic. The fit is flattering to any frame. Carlson Creek is a nice tasting room featuring some good Arizona wines. All of the wines are estate. The serving staff is friendly. Prices are very reasonable. I like that the tasting fee is waived with a two bottle purchase. They also have a lot of half bottles available. They take COVID precautions seriously which I appreciate.

Zak was our server and he was great at giving the description of the wines. A little slow in service as he was the only one working and it was a Friday afternoon on a beautiful day. All in all....nice place.

I really liked it here! We got lucky and it wasn't crowded at all, I forgot the lady who was working there, but she made great recommendations on what to try and even changed the music for our preferences. She even let us revisit a 6th tasting to decide what bottle to buy! We got to take our glasses home which was a cool unexpected plus. The bottles were a bit expensive, but I think for this area it's normal.

The server was great and very knowledgeable. The ambiance was just ok. I would have preferred an outdoor seating option, but we sat by the window. I imagine the space gets very loud if there's many people with how small it is. I think the value of $18 for 5 wines with generous pours was worth it, although I would say I only liked 2 of the 5 I chose. Overall would not return but was a decent spot depending on what you're looking for.

It was me and my lady's first wine tasting and Zack was extremely helpful and friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the wine and even gave us recommendations based on our own personal preferences and his own. The hospitality was amazing along with the scenery, the place was a vibe and I definitely recommend trying this place especially if you love wine.

There were about 20 women in two groups today. Kinda loud. Kinda henhousy. Andrew our wine professional made everything great. The wine wasn't with my taste but I'm more semi-sweet / sweet. The 2017 Malbec is pretty good. Everyone has a different preference. I'll go again Update. I went again. Disneyland is no longer the happiest place on earth. Carlson Creek now holds the title.

Have not had a wine that I didn't like. The service is top notch, Marcus, Zach, and Taylor are always friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting room is always relaxing and comfortable. I have been a club member for two years.

Such a fun spot in Old Town Scottsdale, a fun vibe with an essence of a classy wine bar, I didn't want to leave! This place is perfect for date night, girls night, or private events in their back hall- the staff is super fun and helpful, they even have a sommelier which is an added bonus- I'm clueless! 10/10 would get wine drunk here again

Great tasting room. The wines are very good but the service was over the top. Meagan's service and knowledge made the experience special. Very comfortable venue. We had the cheese plate. Perfect compliment to the wines and reasonably priced at 10$. The truffles were also a good pairing and they were only 10$ also. Babalones said the truffles and breast milk were an excellent pairing.

A hidden gem in the art district of old town Scottsdale, Carlson creek vineyard is a fantastic hang out spot. You're able to order a glass of wine or sample. I had the 2015 rule of 3. Oh my! Super cool inside, a perfect spot for a date. Now I need to find one to bring here.

My husband and I each did a tasting of five red wines. I did not like any of the five, but my husband said two samples were "okay." The charcuterie board was beautifully presented. It included ample amounts of cheese, meats, crackers, dried fruits, nuts, and fig spread. The employee was very friendly and clearly loves his job, so we enjoyed chatting with him. Since the tasting room was not busy, we were able to sit on a very comfy couch and relax. The other seating did not look very comfortable. An outdoor patio would be wonderful for this time of the year.

We had such a pleasant experience at this winery! Marcus was a delight and took the time to answer all our questions. I tasted the white flight. Normally, I like reds, but I wanted to try some new whites, and I'm glad I did! My friend got the sangiovese and liked it so much, we bought some. My favorite whites were the unoaked chardonnay and the Riesling, so we bought those, too! A helpful and courteous employee can make all the difference between a good experience and a great one...Marcus made this a GREAT experience!

Sam and Brendan are fabulous! I'm sipping the Rose and Chard back to back. BOTH perfect for summer and both unique in characteristic. Chard is neutral which is ALWAYS nice!

After suggesting Carlson Creek to an out of town friend, I realized that I have not reviewed this Scottsdale location. I had only reviewed the Willcox tasting room. The wines are always good at Carlson Creek. And while we like others in the area as well, Carlson Creek tends to have a larger variety, meaning something for all tastes, and they have also been consistently good, while other local wines can be hit or miss depending on the year. As for the Scottsdale location, it's a great place to stop in and get out of the heat while enjoying something like their delicious Chenin Blanc. And what Lucy is to the Willcox location, Wendy is to Scottsdale. Great staff, great wine, and great atmosphere. Check them out!

We are going back to stock up! Had a great time wine tasting! We got lucky and were the only ones there for about an hour. It was packed before we left.

Took my mom here for Mother's Day yesterday with my sister and we all had a great time! They were also serving cake from a local bakery to the moms, it was cute! We were surprised by how busy this little place was on a Sunday afternoon. Just a sign of how good it is! There was one woman taking care of getting drinks for everyone there, she was doing great. Prices are pretty reasonable there. I did the flight of 5, and I only got through 4 because she was pouring me half glasses of wine each time basically! And it was $10, a good deal. The ambiance is nice too, I like the bar area. We sat on a little couch. My favorite wine I tried was the red blend. I might have to go back and get a bottle sometime. Had a lot of fun here!

Great wines here. We joined after the first tasting. The wine seems to be very consistent, so far. Which is a good thing. If the taste of the wines changed too much, for the worst, then we would have quit. So far so good.

I attended the Mother's day event with my niece. Cute and intimate little winery tucked away in a little area with boutiques and restaraunts. The event included 4 tastings and cake pairing. Great concept! The cakes were all wine infused and amazing! Unique flavor combinations. The baker was very friendly as well. There was a good selection of wines to choose from with good size pours. I don't know much about wine, but the woman serving us was nice and offered suggestions. I really enjoyed the Chenin Blanc and bought a bottle to go. This would be a great place to stop for a romantic date night or girls night out. I really enjoyed the tastings. I would suggest having more delicious cakes to choose from with the option to purchase additional slices as well. I would have def bought a few slices to accompany the wine I purchased.

Had the best experience here doing a private tasting for my husband's 30th birthday with our group of 18 people. We had come from a terrible experience at Aridus and the experience here was like night and day. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive and the wine was fantastic. Skip Aridus and come straight here.

Popped in here a few years ago and it was a good experience. The staff were attentive and the wine was decent. Popped in here last week and it was tough trying to get anyone to assist us with wine tastings. It was challenging when we saw the employee actually look at us but no "I will be there in a moment" or "Just a sec"; just walked away to assist other patrons. We couldn't even get someone to take our payment for our tastings. I feel there could be an extra person there. There a couple clusters of people and they just could not keep up.

Had a very enjoyable experience at Carlson Creek Vineyard. Tried some yummy AZ wines that everyone in my group said were delicious! My personal favorite was the Grenache Rosé. This chilled wine was absolutely perfect for the heat right now. Light, crisp, subtle rose flavor with hints of vanilla and a unique banana skin finish that had me hooked instantly! The interior of the winery was nicely done with wine barrels, some comfy lounge areas and plenty of bar stools. We were looked after by Meaghan who was very knowledgeable about all the wines and made the experience perfect with her friendly nature and true love of wine

Affordable, approachable, Seni-intimate vibe, fun crowd. I will be back. You can bring snacks as long as they don't disturb the other patrons. Service was just the right paced, not too slow and not rushed.

I love wine. I mean I really love wine. And I particularly like going to wine tasting rooms and on wine tours to wineries and to vineyards all over Arizona and Southern California including Temecula. So when I came across this wonderful wine tasting Room of course I was drawn to it like bees to honey. I'm really happy that it was not a let down because I was really in the mood for a some glasses of great wine and that's exactly what I got. The people here are really friendly and accommodating and even though I didn't stay to long because I had other places to go and people to see I will recommend this tasting Room whole heartedly.
