"If you love Italian food and the Italian way of life, you'll feel right at home here. Born in Sicily and raised in Piedmont, owner Carmelo Greco feels a deep culinary connection to his homeland. He heads up the kitchen here alongside Benedetto Russo. In this hidden gem of a restaurant, savour a slice of la dolce vita with classic Italian cuisine and professional, charming service. There are two set menus made using excellent ingredients; one is vegetarian, and you can also choose à la carte. Tip: the parmesan flan is a speciality of the house. The lunch set menu is also intriguing. The interior is done out in a modern, elegant style and the pretty terrace comes into its own on summer days." - Michelin Inspector

I found the restaurant quite alright but it didn’t fit in with the rank of other restaurants I’ve been to. The surprise dishes from the kitchen were the best part of the evening and also tasted the best. The tastes of those were well matched and the aesthetics were on point! In contrast the dishes I actually ordered were underwhelming. The pasta dish was good but the lemon ricotta taste did not match with the seaweed on top in my opinion. Sassafras or Basil would have complemented the dish much better. The dessert I ordered was beautifully presented, but the tastes were a bit bland for my liking. I think the staff were very nice but it again didn’t match up to a Michelin star rating. Also the Menues themselves were cheap feeling and the paper/ cardboard was all beat up around the edges which made the restaurant not feel as fancy. In summary, the food was good enough, but the tastes and overall ambience did not align with the price and Michelin star rating.

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were blown away by the attentive service and amazing culinary experience. They helped arrange a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the experience from arrival, through the menu and wine pairing until our departure was exceptional. We highly recommend coming here. Thank you to the team for making our anniversary a memorable experience.

We had a great dinner in the restaurant terrace overlooking the “woods” in this very attentive and quiet restaurant 12 minutes by car from the Frankfurt Airport. The reception and service was outstanding. The wine list short but well cured. As for the food, the starters where very good and the main course and the dessert where excellent! The weakest part of the menu was unfortunately the pasta, although well presented it lacked some flavor. Overall a magnificent experience, and will definitely be back!

Great ambience and super tasty unique food. Staff is friendly and prices are right for a Michelin star restaurant. Suited for a special occasion. Happy to return.

The food was good (portions and presentation were good but the taste was just ok, nothing special), service was ok, but the atmosphere was terrible. One pays not only for the food when going to a Michelin Star restaurant (+€500). Very disappointed that the atmosphere looked more like a cheap pub than a restaurant. Quite noisy with diners who shouted and laughed so loudly that they prevented us at our table from talking. We told the service staff but they only offered us a table that was also very close to this noisy group. It's a shame that I couldn't enjoy my dinner and birthday celebration. In addition, the risotto was salty and the broccoli was quite oily. I won't go back to this restaurant and I don't think it really deserves a star. They are not quite there yet.

The food here was excelent and filling. Given the price the dishes were well balanced and the right portion and the wine was very good. Overall this is one of the best culinary experiences. Totally recommend.

Compared to other Michelin restaurants that I tried, Carmelo was less experimental and more traditional (Italian), but this doesn’t make it worse. Everything was good, but the fillet was extraordinary

Eating at Carmelo's is an amazing experience. It is like visiting a museum and you can eat the art. Everything is well composed, looks amazing and tastes delicious. The Staff is also very attentive and friendly. In contrast to other critics say, I don't think it is overpriced. But very worth it!

Yelp
We were visiting the area and wanted to experience a Michelin star restaurant, so we ended up at Carmelo Greco. The service was excellent. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We did the full multi course dinner and enjoyed several of the dishes. We were at the restaurant for 3.5 hours which was a little long for our taste after a long day of travel, but we felt well taken care of. The plating of the different courses was stunning. A lot of the flavors played really well together. We're big fans of steak and unfortunately we were disappointed with the wagyu filet at Carmelo Greco. The wagyu filet was from Japan and should've been the star of the show and stood on its own with little to no other ingredients. Instead, it was paired with a bitter balsamic and other ingredients that took away from the quality of the meat. The restaurant itself was cozy and inviting.

Yelp
I was in Frankfurt for work and made it my goal to try a Michelin Star restaurant during my stay. Showed up at 21:30 on a Wednesday evening without a reservation. There was only one other gentleman in the restaurant so pretty much had the whole place to myself. Their tasting menu offers 7 items (including dessert) and you have the option to choose from 3-7 items. Overall, the meal was good and each dish was creative, making it exciting to eat. My favorites from the menu were the scallops and the trout. I didn't quite understand the parmigiano "flan" as they called it. The orange-espresso reduction sauce clashed with the spongey cheese flan... there were just too many strong flavors going on in the dish for me. I'm thankful that Carmelo Greco was able to accommodate my last minute arrival, I was there till almost 11pm despite them closing at 10pm. The only downside of my experience here was that there were a few little flies that kept bothering me throughout my entire meal. One eventually landed and died inside my wine... it was very distracting to have to constantly swat the flies (and looking like a crazy person). They kept landing on the bread and onto my wine glass.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I have had. Friendly and attentive staff who provided wonderful recommendations. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Not always "1*-Michelin / 17 pts Gault Millau"!!! Of course it's difficult to write a negative review about a restaurant which is actually a "1*-Michelin" / "17 pts Gault Millau" restaurant and got so many positive reviews recently. But unfortunately I have do this today (and we have some "Michelin-star-experience": "Bosman's" / SouthAfrica, "L'Auberge de l'Ill" / Alsace or "Ritter Durbach" / Black Forrest). We (my partner and I) took a 3 course meal: The Amuse-Gueule (a cream in an empty egg) didn't surprise us (actually it was not very delicious). The starter ("Manzo Tonnato") was w/o taste which means both meat and sauce. The primo ("Panciotti+Parmigiano Reggiano+Pachino Tomate") was just slightly better than the starter and here as well no tasteful sauce (just watery tomato juice). The secondo (I had "lamb filet+asiago+safran spring onions+pappardelle) was the same disappointment like the starter: I never had lamb w/o taste in my life before! The white and red wine (by glas) was lovely. Finally we decided not to take a dessert just to avoid further disappointments. On top: nobody asked us if we enjoyed the courses - may be for a good reason... We were wondering if the team of Signore Greco was completely off sick that could be the only explanation for that very bad result. Plus: how is it possible to create such flavourless sauces? Definitely we never made such a negative experience in 1*-Michelin restaurant before and do not understand what happend there!!! Based on this experience we would not come back again because it is cheaper and tastier in one of the italians of Frankfurt like "Ristorante Isoletta" or "Reuters".

Yelp
I ordered the lobster as a starter and raviolli with anchovies, they both are over priced and not delicious at all in my opinion,, And we ordered 3 main dishes , two different plate of fried fish they both was good , one of them was superb the one with coconut sponge The beef steak was also delicious
