Carmine's Italian

We just ordered two 16 in pizzas and garlic knots and it did not disappoint! Holy goodness, the pizza (Pepperoni and Sausage) was perfect! Exactly what'd I crave for a New York style pizza! The garlic knots were fresh and soft, buttery and garlicky! I highly recommend this place! This is definitely going to be our go to pizza place when we are in town!! I cannot get over how tasty it all was! ❤️🤤❤️! In the words of Arnold, "we"ll be back!"

If I could give a negative stars I would. We had one bad experience where we came in, an hour before closing and my husband ordered a slice of pizza(which is on the menu) and we could hear the owner yelling from the kitchen he wasn't making a slice of pizza that late. So we left. Giving it another try today. The owner is the rudest person you will ever meet. He doesn't need to be in customer service! A guy in our party ordered a slice of pizza. Under the slice on the plate was a black hair. The guy just asked they take the plate cause it wasn't appetizing to look at. The owner brings the plate back out coming to our table yelling there isnt a hair. We all said we saw the hair. He continues to yell that we are paying for the pizza cause they couldn't see the hair. We told him we never said we were not paying for it. He continued to yell at us. We own a business in customer service industry and if we ever treated someone like that we would be out of business soon. This man is extremely unprofessional!!!!!!

Took the family there and the food was not something that would make us want to return. The tomato sauce was bland. The oil and garlic spaghetti was really bad. The garlic was raw and did not taste fresh, but like those pre peeled. The cheese pizza was not too bad. Son gave it at 6 out of 10. From the other reviews, it seems like it used to be better.

We took a day trip to Kerrville to come see the Cross and decided to stop at Carmines afterwards. We heard various things about the food, especially the pizza 🍕 so we were curious. I will say off the bat there are some unusual things about it. They serve no wines or liquors, they do have ☕, but no espresso or cappuccinos. I am from New York and these are normally givens at an Italian spot. Also atmosphere wise it was very empty which caught us off guard for a Saturday. Yes, the pizza is as big as they say for an individual slice. Huge and these will fill you up fast. Quality wise the pepperoni, cheese and Marguerite slices were good, but the supreme was dry, uninspired, and over cooked. My wife had the chicken Parm. Hers was overcooked, though it looked good initially. She liked the spaghetti, 🍝 I found it plain with little flavor. Our waiter was quite nice and helpful. We made sure to leave him a good tip. We are not sure we would go back personally, but I am glad we did try it.

The services is good but the food is horrible!!! At one time I loved the food but it has gone downhill. The last time I got food poison again. I stopped eating there over a year ago, gave it one more try and never again.

4/013/22 - we come here quite a bit and feel like part of the family. The food is amazing and I have introduced my family to this great place. If you want great food, amazing service (thank you Reba) and wonderful owners this is the place for you. Had a great Capreze salad, pizza and rolls. Always delicious!! We found this gem by accident and so glad we did. We were the only ones in her on 1/17/19 but it started filling up before we left. The food was amazing. We did pizza which had a great flavor. You can tell they use good italian tomatoes it tasted like my grandfather use to make it. The garlic knots were good as well. My husband had the lasagna and loved it. Between the service and the great music it was an amazing evening. We definitely will be back.

Not really Italian food place if Italian food isn't offeredfor lunch. We had this tostada with chicken salad on it. It was weird. As for positives, their chips were good and the waitress was friendly.

Awesome place to sit and eat and enjoy!!! The outside temp was 107, ish... Carmine's was cool... Their food and service were AWESOME!! Gaint Pizza X 2 was a tremendous HIT with all the Scouts!!!! Look forward to our next visit.

Eggplant Parmigiana was excellent!!! Would have it again. Ask for extra garlic knots.

My husband and I went into this restaurant last week. We both ordered salads and the lettuce was brown with only iceberg and tomatoes. We also ordered boneless chicken wings and didn't like the way they looked so we sent them back. The manager came out and argued with us rather than just asking us if we wanted something else or taking it back eventually, we just agreed to pay for it to get her to go away. The whole experience was terrible and that's the worst manager I've ever seen in a restaurant. I wish I had taken a picture of my salad to post in this review.

The pizza has no flavor and lots of grease. The all meat pizza doesn't have much meat.

True New York style Italian. Great food, great price. They make you feel like family.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Ordered a pizza half margarita/supreme....tried to charge me an extra $4 for the margarita split and $7 for the supreme. Yeah right! Why would they try to charge me twice the price just to split the pizza? Haha I tried to give this place another chance but forget about it. Owner is a jabroni! I've been a chef for 20 years and never seen anyone so disrespectful towards customers. Loser

The food here is absolutely delicious! The White Pizza is THE best and just thinking of the garlic rolls makes my mouth water! The Owner is from the old neighborhood, the Bronx. Trust me, this guy KNOWS his pizza pies! The staff is always very attentive and kind. Love love love this restaurant!

Great service. Amazing food. Very clean establishment. We will be back. We both had the chicken parm. Worth the trip from San Antonio.

Lots to like and some to be improved. The antipasto salad was really pretty good. It was fresh, had lots of meats and cheese and olives and tasty stuff, and was a generous size. The house salad dressing is classic Italian American vinaigrette - definitely order it. The tortellini soup was also delicious with a deeply flavored tomato based broth and tender tortellini. I heartily recommend it, especially with bits of garlic rolls dipped in it. The ziti in arrabiata sauce was terrific, too. Spicy sauce but not one note. The cannolis for dessert were crisp on the outside and creamy delicious on the inside but not too sweet. The place is also very clean, even the restrooms, and well kept if a bit plain. On the downside, the meatballs were really not to my liking at all. I can't detail why because I almost spit out my first bite and wouldn't try a second. Let's just say they would benefit from a nice long braise in the sauce. The pizza had a dull sauce that lacked flavor and salt and they used canned mushrooms instead of fresh. The crust was ok but nothing special. It was hard to figure out how such flavor variance could come out of the same kitchen. There were really great dishes and really terrible ones. One reviewer noted bad tasting water - I had a glass of water and it was fine. No beer or wine license, unfortunately. The orders came out of the kitchen in random order, too - got the soup last instead of first. I will probably return, but it will be for soup, salad, and arrabiata.

Great everything. Thinking about it right now makes me want more! Salads a bit sparse but really good non the less.

The salad was a bowl of lettuce with two baby tomatoes, don't know how they stay in business. Food was like might have got in a box at a grocery store. First and last trip there. Will go down the street and get good ( had a 45 minute wait tonight! Walked right in to carmines!! Should have know better

Love the pizza. So good. We typically get candian bacon and pineapple or cheese for the kiddos. Pair that with some ranch on the side, by far one of the best pizzas in town.

Best Pizza in Kerrville. We had pepperoni pizza on Friday night. Take out. We were so excited because it was basically NY Pizza right here in town! Can't wait to come back for more. Glad y'all are here.

I had the lasagna and my wife had the manicotti. Excellent, homemade food. We are taking dessert to go, but the tiramisu looks amazing. The garlic rolls were also delicious. They were super busy tonight, so the service was a little slow, but definitely worth it. A relaxing evening meal.

Had heard about carmines and their Pizza. Was at a friends in Harper and decided to get pizza for dinner The positives. Friendly young men running the pizza operation. There is a nice place to eat there. The primary business however is take out. Rumor had it that carmines is known for pizzas you should keep level as the toppings and cheese may slide off. What a disappointment. For a 20 plus dollar pizza there was so little cheese and so few toppings I thought circle K little Caesar's the $ 5-7 pizzas had more topping and cheese. The sauce was good but came to the conclusion that unless you ordered extra cheese there would not be enough to taste. We ordered the all meat and there were so few meats and so little on the pizza I wondered if I had ordered light toppings. The crust was OK the pizza was cooked properly. Can't say I'd order again. This was a disappointment. I love pizza but this was not I would try it again experience

my husband and I brough our grandchildren here for dinner, food was good, service was good. Decided to order pizza to go, three topppings on each side. when my husband picked up our it was almost $40.00 for 16 inch pizza. We were charged for six toppings. Now if you're going to charge for a six topping pizza, I feel it should have double the toppings on each side since you charged for the entire pizza, or just charge me for three toppings pizza. But to charge me for six toppings and only deliver three toppings I feel is a rip off. Other food here may be good, but the pizza was very disappointing.

The pizza is great! My son just moved to the area from Houston and was pleasantly surprised to find a pizza place like home. The sauce was great. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The thing that impressed me the most was how the owner went out of his way to try and locate me after leaving my purse. A very nice family found it and turned it in. The owner and family called me, they made sure I was the rightful owner, and it was returned! I would definitely try this great restaurant!

This is HANDS DOWN the best restaurant in town. Everything is handmade and cooked fresh. The food has better Italian than I've had in houston. The ambiance and service gives family vibes. It's homey and the service was remarkable Riley did an amazing job. Highly recommend!!!

Food was delicious, and our server was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Most of us at the table are Italian and enjoyed every bite. We are anticipating moving to the area and Carmine's will be a regular place to eat.

I got the chicken Alfredo to-go. The chicken was way over cooked and thin. Not much chicken at all. Sauce also lacked something to be desired. The salad was lettuce only, nothing else. When I phoned in my order they asked me to pay over the phone when I placed my order. Makes you wonder how secure your financial information is.

Good pizza just wanted to post the menu. We've decided to come back for dinner sometime.

Just did take out pizza. Only choice was 16inch or larger- not at all ideal for a household of 1 or 2. Not remotely NY style. Mediocre at best. Disappointing. Not likely to be back

Do not eat at this place. Owner is unethical. Ordered a pizza for $20.99 per the printed menu. Bill came and was charged $25.99. I pointed this out at checkout and first they said printer made an error. Then they pointed at the bottom of menu where it said prices subject to change. I pointed out that if they knew prices on menu were wrong they should point that out to the customer when ordering. They had some hand written corrected menus, but they didn't share that until we brought up the discrepancy. Owner came out and I complained to him and he said it was just $5 and that we should pay it then told us to get the f@#* out of there. Rude, unethical, dishonest are the adjectives that come to mind.

BEWARE!! Carmine the owner was hateful and rude to his staff where everybody could hear him! The waitress over charge us and when we leaving we asked to have our bill Correct because they charged us for two pizzas.. So my boyfriend had to go in the kitchen to talk to Carmine at his request and he was yelling at my boyfriend as he explained to him what our issue was.. CARMINE didn't care to listen and he told my boyfriend he charges what he wants too and our bill is for two pizzas even though we got one.. Come to find out had he listened the first time none of this would have happened-he ended up looking at the bill and seeing it was wrong all along.. Point is he is a compete JERK and had no concerns to make it right! I will make sure I let my place of business who orders here for large parties that it will be last we ever do business with this place.. oh watch because they upcharge your bill without telling you even though their menu reflects still the old prices!! As I was signing our bill he said out loud" Are they still here!" CARMINE this is the hill country we're people are polite and kind - and you want people to say good things about you and your place I suggest you learn to talk like a business owner who cares about his customers, place of business and wait staff!! DONT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS

The experience here wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. We were greeted quickly at the door by a friendly server and seated right away. The decor in the dining room is rather plain and dated. We put in our orders and were disappointed to find out they don't serve any alcohol as we enjoy a nice glass of wine with Italian food. My dinner (spaghetti with marinara and meatballs) came out, and the server said my wife's dinner (Primavera) would be right out. Unfortunately, I was 2/3 of the way through my meal before her plate arrived (she told me to go ahead and eat while the food was warm). That's a bit disappointing as there were only a handful of people in the dining room. The food itself wasn't bad, but it was a bit bland and could use more seasoning. Our server brought our ticket to the table as soon as my wife's plate arrived amd didn't check with us for desert. Anyway, not a bad meal but I don't think it's worth another visit.

Largest slice I've ever had! Love the meat lovers and margherita pizzas. Servers are nice. Ambiance is very laid back. One slice and a salad is enough for two to share.

Overpriced food and it also is lacking taste I have had better pizza from HEB in a box Also the owner is arrogant and hot tempered if you don't do as he likes he will come after you verbally. I hate to say. If you have had good Italian food in other parts of the country or Italy this place doesn't measure up at all. Save your money it's not worth it!!

What a waste of money. The prices here keep going up and the food quality has gone down every time I've ordered take out from here. The spaghetti and meatballs were high school cafeteria quality. Definitely not made fresh. Calamari wasn't fresh. Chicken Parmesan was average. Unfortunately ended up tossing this meal. Won't be coming back.

Went to eat dinner there on Saturday night. I ordered a Pasta Primavera, my wife ordered the Fish and Chips special and our friend ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with Shrimp. The best thing on the table was the dinner rolls. The veggies on my primavera were over cooked and too soft and the sauce was lackluster. My friend was very disappointed with her dish and she couldn't fathom why they left the tails on and the shrimp wasn't cleaned. My wife's fish was over cooked but the fries were tasty. The the food not what we expected and we won't be going back.

I've had pizza all over the country and Carmine's has the BEST pizza I've ever had! So delicious! Just like New York but better! This is a MUST when visiting Kerrville, or if you are t already here it's worth the drive! The white ricotta pizza is my favorite!

We had the supreme pizza. The crust was crisp on the outside and tender on I side. The toppings were plentiful. Our server was delightful. We'll definitely be back

We ordered the 16" deep dish pizza with 5 toppings and I think we got 1 of each topping, for a total of 5 toppings. My wife and I each ate one piece and then she came up with the idea of taking the 'toppings' from another piece and putting them on another slice to make double toppings. That didn't make it any better. The crust was thick and hard to cut, let alone chew. One topping we ordered were onions. I tasted one small piece and my wife didn't taste any. She thinks she had one piece of sausage, but I didn't get any on the three slices I ate. The toppings were so sparse that you tasted no flavor nd the crust was unlike any we've ever had, but also had no flavor. We ended up tossing the leftovers. We only tried their pizza. Lastly, the hostess was not wearing a mask.

Food was bland. The 4G Pepperoni Role literally had ZERO flavor--it was Pepperoni and mozzarella baked in a bland bread. Pizza sauce was on the side and had little flavor. The fettuccine was not quite as bland. Adding a little salt to it helped tremendously. The service, however, was subpar. One waitress without a smile and rather irritated with everyone that came in the door.

Went here for my daughters Birthday and was excited to eat here until we sat down and it went down hill from there. Food seemed to be nothing short of microwaved Italian food, the waitress brought 3 rolls for four people, the waitress was extremely bothersome and we could not enjoy conversation for her always coming and going. Was truly disappointed to say the least. There are other places to eat Italian in Kerrville like Bella Sera's

Perfection at it best great pizza, salad and a smiling server. Tiramisu was also wonderful. Staff knows the menu and is glad to offer assistance with your order. Always clean and nice and cool A/C set on 70 degrees. We'll be back for sure

Had the soup and salad and they were both huge!!! If you have gluten allergies these are good options to get and filled me up pretty good.

The food here is ok, but I refuse to give them my patronage as long as they have the political signs advertising him! I will not do business with them as long as those signs are up.

We had a super nice waitress last night at this new little Italian restaurant. Thankfully, I read the reviews here on Yelp before we ordered. So, we skipped pizza and anything chicken. We all got the tiny salad before our meal, and as mentioned by others, it was iceberg central. However, the ranch was good and the one tomato gives it a step up from the salad you find at Babe's chicken ;). I ordered the cream of mushroom soup for my entree; it was creamy and yummy. Others ordered the manicotti, well received, but not stellar, and the primavera pasta with sausage. The pasta dish was eaten in full, so it's a win. The garlic knots were indeed garlicky, but hard, which is fine as I can't have bread right now and that rid me of the temptation. :) Proceed with caution... and BYOB, no license as of yet.

The food was edible, but far from great. It was luke warm and the spaghetti sauce tasted like prego from a jar. Also, my meal was $14.99 on the menu, but I was charged $16.99. My daughter's meal was $9.99 on the menu, but we were charged $14.99. We won't be back.

We are trying different places in our new town. We came across Carmine's. We ordered garlic rolls. They were so delicious and well worth the wait. It was covered in garlic the way we like. Yes, the side salad was small but it was good and the ranch was so good. We had lasagna and a slice. The sauce had a nice sweetness like it does in Little Italy. The lasagna was hot over saucy either. Just perfect. Good spot. We will try again.

The food is amazing and the service was excellent they were attentive and so polite. Eat locally, forget the chains and get the best pizza in town!

So Far this is the best pizza I have had in Texas. I'm from New York and the pizza here taste pretty close to the $1 slices i'm use to. I'm glad I finally found a great pizza spot.

Excellent pizza! Most pizza we've had, my wife & I can find something we don't like, i.e. the crust is too thick, the flavors are boring, the ingredients are not that fresh, etc., but this pizza knocked it out the park. A new favorite! Service was friendly and fast. We look forward to trying the other items on the menu!

Not impressed with the staff here. I got a togo order and had a friend last minute, ask for a soup. When I asked them for a soup, I could clearly hear in the kitchen that they didn't like the fact I asked for something else. Sorry I'm gave you my money. Y'all also need to not be so loud in the kitchen about your problems.... your customers can hear everything you complain about.

Viva Italiano! Good menu choices. We dined on Fresh garlic rolls and a Supreme pizza and they both tasted good. Great Italian music to set the ambiance. Good service and good value for anyone seeking a friendly atmosphere for Italian food.
