The food was tasty but I'm not quite sure it's worth the price. I felt that my dish lacked salt and frankly flavor. The bread and cannolis were great. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Our food was brought out maybe 2 minutes after ordering! It's the fastest I've gotten food. Our waiter also brought me a birthday treat, and it was greatly appreciated. While I wish the food was a bit better, the waitstaff and experience were well worth it.

What a great place! I took my wife here due date night. The pasta primavera was incredible. The extra virgin olive oil and garlic sauce was mind blowing. We had sorbet for dessert which was just right. Sweet but not overpowering. The temperature and music made the meal even better. Jovana did a great job checking on us and suggesting menu items. There’s a free parking lot and the location is easy to find right off the Balmoral Avenue exit. We will definitely return.

We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary at Carmine's after hearing it was excellent. We were so disappointed in the food, and the service. My husband specifically ordered chicken alfredo, even going into detail about what he wanted on it, and then a side salad. He was brought a salad with this chicken on it. The server was so confused and did not pay attention to us at all. My steak was good, not excellent, and very pricey. Everything is ala carte so I ordered a potato. I was given a half potato, not even a full potato and it was $14! The drinks (old fashion and lemon drop martini) were terrible. $23 for an old fashion that was not good and couldn't even finish. The atmosphere outside was not very romantic at all as expected. We sat by a tarp over the waterfall that did not work. Will not be returning, nor recommending.

We visited on a Friday (7/11) around 11:30 and it looked like we were the second table to be seated. At first I was worried about us being seated since I was wearing a tank top but no one said anything to me and I even saw a worker wearing a tank top as well so a bit confusing to allow it in the dress code for staff and not customers. The server was nice but after ordering we didn't see much of him at all. A table was sat next to us that the staff clearly knew and our server and the manager were catering to her every want which was obnoxious with how little attention we got and the few customers there were in the whole place. That said, the food was fantastic! I do think it's a bit overpriced but you pay for the environment. But the very limited food options around the outlets is a good option.

Had a great experience at Carmine’s tonight. I got in very late from a flight and only managed to get to the restaurant 30 mins before close. They seated me at the bar and I ordered right away. I was not expecting much attention from the staff as they were closing out, but to my surprise, the bartender was very pleasant and the GM came to chat with me several times. My tortellini carbonara came out piping hot and very quickly. The flavor was fantastic, with prosciutto and peas complimenting the creamy sauce. Staff also went above and beyond by walking me out to my uber and staying with me as I waited to ensure I felt safe. I don’t often find genuinely kind staff at restaurants. Thank you! I’ll be back for the cacio e pepe next time.

Google
Excellent restaurant. Were welcomed into the restaurant and seated immediately. The ambiance was beautiful. Waitress was attentive. Food was excellent. We had calamari for an appetizer. Really good. We asked for marinara (which is the normal offering in the Italian neighborhood in NJ and NY) instead of the cocktail sauce offered by Carmine's. I would highly recommend this appetizer. The chicken parmesan was so tasty and the pasta was perfectly al dente. I will definitely try to come back here the next time I'm in Chicago!

Google
Came here on a date night with my wife and we had a great meal. We got the calamari, which was honestly one of the best calamri dishes I've had in a long time. The 16 oz NY Strip steak was cooked medium rare just how we asked for. The chopped salad was huge and definitely shareable amongst 2-3 people. The Tagliatelle Bolongese was delicious. The burrata cheese just made the pasta rich with cream and melt in your mouth flavors. For drinks my wife really enjoyed the Cosmopolitan and I found the Limoncello to be quite refreshing.

Google
Great food! We went during a Sunday lunch (about a half hour after they opened - little more of a relaxed environment) and then a few weeks later for a Saturday dinner (6:30 reservation, it.was.packed!) Service was a little slow on Sunday, which was surprising since there were 4 active tables in the "patio" section. But the food was great (both times)! Service was about the same on a Saturday night, but again it was packed. Also the cheesecake was massive!! Usually we don't get dessert, but this was WORTH IT. Came home from both experiences with many leftovers. We'll be going back again!

Yelp
WOW! I mean impressed all the way! Staff is very kind, love the ambience, food is amazing! I had the steak salad - the best!!! Our waiter gave the best service I think I've ever had. Kind, attentive; he was a wonderful server. Definitely going back!!!

Yelp
Carmine's has a large menu with a lot of options but I feel it is overrated and some items are overpriced. My husband's veal piccata was overcooked and tough so he sent it back and ordered a filet instead. It was cooked perfectly but with no hint of salt or pepper. My chicken Milanese was a huge portion and cooked well. The pasta we both got on the side was al dente but to me it might as well have been raw. The noodles were hard. I had a martini which was tasty and they have yummy blue cheese olives and they gave us complimentary cannoli because it was our anniversary. Our server David was attentive but I don't think our experience was worth the $132 we paid. Not a fan.

Yelp
I have been consistently coming here for years and have even brought many many out-of-town guests, here who absolutely adore it. Key strengths are the fact that they are consistent and everything is absolutely delicious and high-quality. Love the space of the patio as well as the actual indoors. Great wine selection as always, and on this particular visit service was fantastic because for some reason, they boxed our food. However, on my last visit here a little less than two months ago, I packed my own food oddly enough.

Yelp
My wife and I dined at the famous Carmines this evening for our 12th wedding anniversary. It was truly a forgettable night. David, our server, was excellent. He was as professional as they get. My two stars are for the food. I ordered the Veal piccatta, and it was horrible. Uhm, just a thought: when serving veal, it should always be medium-rare to rare. Terrible,. Not well or medium well, because it's veal, it should be fork-tender, meaning you can cut it with a fork. My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese for me, and it was fine; I had a piece, and it was actually more tender than my veal. Now, when you pay the prices they're charging you, you should get the meal you expect. We both had penne pasta with a delicious red sauce. My wife didn't like her pasta because it wasn't cooked enough. She does not like al dente pasta. I was classically trained as a chef, and my traing was in Italian cuisine. I know a little bit about it. The pasta was a bit undercooked, but not by much. She likes all her pasta overcooked until soft as a noodle. The restaurant was a beautiful room. and only a handful of customers were there. The ambiance was lovely. I don't think I will be back to Carmines' because I wanted the veal and it was not cooked as I like it. I ordered the filet mignon Medium Rare. It was perfectly cooked, but not a bit of salt or pepper to be found. Again, two stars for me.and

Yelp
Dinner with clients. We were taken care of (not brilliantly but adequately). Drinks were good. Wine selections were mediocre. Oysters ok. Bread not. Calamari great. Delmonico delicious. Sea Bass okay. Prices were high but not crazy. Would recommend but not special occasion level.

Yelp
Carmine's - Rosemont Baked Mostaccioli = cheesy, bubbly, and the ultimate comfort dish Filet medallions = tender & flavorful, paired with a rich sauce + sides Roasted potatoes = crispy, golden perfection 4.6/5 Portions are huge (definitely shareable), service was on point, and the old-school Italian steakhouse vibes were immaculate. Perfect spot for a night out in Rosemont! Yelp
This was our first visit. We came on Thanksgiving' Day. Cute inside. Our server was ok. The bread they give you before the meal was very good. The bruschetta was yucky because they put black olives in it. That's a no no!! The Thanksgiving day meal the one mushroom was fine. The little salad was OK. good size dinner. The mashed potatoes were cold. The sweet potato were bland needed butter and brown sugar. The stuffing was slimy. the turkey was pretty good. The cheese ravioli wasn't bad. The chocolate cake was good and the pumpkin pie was good, but I really needed whipped cream. But overall, we won't come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was very good. Had the meatballs and polenta they were excellent. The fish special melted in your mouth. Calamari was crispy only wish they served it with marinara sauce. My friend had the orecchiette, sausage and broccolini. It was excellent. The drinks were well made and generous.

Yelp
Seabass was 8/10, French fries 10/10, filet was a 8.5/10, chicken Milanese 8/10, work be a 9/10 but the salad wasn't as good and they don't let you substitute anything it comes with - pasta was 7/10, bread was fresh, and chicken parm was a 8/10 - we were a group of 4. Capers salad wasn't a 8/10 - I The ambiance was good - waiters were quick and punctual with the reservation. Overall service was an 8/10 - I would give it a shot but none of the entrees came with a side, not even our $72 steak, most places at least give you one side.. while I don't regret going I won't be returning :)

Yelp
I made reservations, and we were sat quickly. It's a nice classy place, perfect for groups or a date. I was with a party of 5, and we ordered wine. We had plenty of food, and most of it was good. However, when we got the bill, there was some confusion on the type of wine we ordered vs what we were billed. Putting aside what actually happened, I was really disappointed on how the MANAGER handled it. He basically blamed us, and was curt with me. I felt he should have handled it better. He clearly seemed annoyed with us. I will never go back.

Yelp
Disappointed in the Direction, Not the Food I've been a longtime fan of the Rosebud family of restaurants -- from Rosebud on Taylor to Carmine's in Rosemont and everything in between. Their food, service, and old-school Chicago charm have always kept me coming back. I've celebrated birthdays, business dinners, and special occasions at nearly every Rosebud location, and I've always recommended them to friends and family. That's why it pains me to write this review -- not because of the food or the staff, but because of the new policies being implemented at Carmine's Rosemont. These rules seem to have less to do with maintaining a classy dining experience and more to do with excluding certain groups of people. Whether it's through dress code enforcement or selective application of "house rules," the effect feels discriminatory and outdated. In 2025, there's no room for policies that quietly decide who "belongs" in a restaurant and who doesn't. Excellence in dining should be about great food, great people, and great hospitality -- not selective enforcement or exclusion. I truly hope the Rosebud group re-examines these practices. They've built a legacy of serving Chicago with pride and warmth, and I'd love to see that spirit restored across all their locations -- including Carmine's Rosemont.

Yelp
I was part of an extremely large group and our waiters took great care of me (the allergy problem). Carmine's has vegan options and we're able to cater to my soy allergy. I had the spaghetti primavera which is noodles with olive oil, garlic, and veggies. You never know whether or not to trust such a simple dish but it was amazing! All the ingredients were good and worked together. It also lasted well in the to go box. I'll definitely be back. It is difficult to find Italian options without soy oil, but Carmine's rose to the task.

Yelp
I always say, you get what you pay for. I paid allot but I got a huge meal that was way better than I've had in a while. Great flavors in the soup and the bolognese. Everything was amazing. Franco was a great waiter. He recommended a few things and he helped me to make a really good pick. He was spot on. The servings were huge. This place had great food and a great place for date night. Very romantic. I will be coming back. I recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
1. They had my rum 2. The ambiance was good 3. Close to my hotel 4. Wedding soup was great 5. Ditto wedge salad 6. Service was perfect. Unfortunately, my wife did not join me so she will get the left overs.

Yelp
Shame on you - management! What happened to this place ?! The food use to be delicious, the service is still very good but the food is awful. I think olive garden is better. I knew something was wrong when we walked in and it wasn't very busy, now I know why. You need to start making fresh good Italin food again.

Yelp
Had dinner at Carmine's Rosemont and it was a total win. The food was awesome--especially the zappa di pesce, which was rich and full of flavor, the veal Parmesan that was perfectly breaded and cheesy, and the meatballs appetizers that were tender and packed with that classic Italian comfort. Portions were generous, so come hungry! The service was fantastic, shout out to David B--super friendly and on point--and the ambience hit that sweet spot between cozy and lively.

Yelp
Our party of 3 was seated right away with our reservation on a Friday night. We started with drinks- I ordered the French martini which was spectacular and my friends enjoyed their whiskey old fashioned and passionfruit mocktail. The stuffed mushrooms and Caesar salad started off our meal. Both were delicious and flavorful. I ordered the special of the day, seafood pasta, and really enjoyed the flavor. I appreciated that the seafood didn't have a "fishy" taste. Portions are large. Service was excellent and the ambience was pleasant- not too loud despite there being plenty of people there. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
Olive Garden with a price tag pasta came out in less than 5 minutes service mediocre at best
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
sorry but they are declining--fast! First off "no separate checks"...AT ALL, Even just two separate ones. SO we had 70 years old pulling out calculators and the waiter offered to charge the cards whatever amounts we came up with. AWKWARD and not needed. Then to their prices. This is NOT downtown so no, $40 for chicken parm ala carte is NOT acceptable. Neither is $30 for spaghetti and sauce. I also asked if a certain dish was garliky. No allergy but hate the taste..."no no you won't taste any" YIKES GARLIC up the ying yang. Used to be packed on a Friday we got right in. Enough said.
google avatar

Maryann S.

Yelp
I had a good time here.... The food tasted good... the passion fruit cocktail was banging.... The eggplant tasted so good, my Pasta was fire... the waiter was also pleasant, good ambience.... I had a good time.
google avatar

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Italian, and what stood out most here was the ambiance. The space is open, light, and airy on one side, perfect for a casual meal. The other side is dark and sultry--ideal for a romantic date night. My fiancé and I enjoyed the heated patio. We shared the baked ziti and Italian salad--both were amazing. Even the margaritas hit the spot! We went with all of our server's recommendations, and he did not miss. The service was 10/10. Our server was friendly, attentive, and struck the perfect balance of engaging without overstepping. This place is a gem, and we'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
It's interesting this place doesn't allow hats. It's not that fancy. They serve good Italian food but it's not upscale enough that I think it merits a "dress code". On to the food. Went here with a bunch of colleagues for a work dinner. We started off with some calamari, sausage and peppers, and some stuffed mushrooms. These were all tasty. I'd try them again. For the entree, I was convinced to try the chicken cutlet (Chicken Parmesan style) with a side of alfredo pasta. I'm not sure where they got this chicken but it was huge! It was really good. It could feed 2-3 people in my opinion. The service was good. Our server was attentive. The manager came by a few times to check on us as well. I'd recommend this place. I'm still a bit annoyed about the hat situation, but I don't think it's a big enough deal to demote them any further in stars.

Yelp
Got stuck at the airport and decided to make the best of it and dine on some authentic Italian food. Carmine's came highly recommended and after grabbing supper, I can understand why. The frigid weather outside helped me appreciate the warm welcoming atmosphere inside the restaurant. I sat at the bar, with a large cozy fireplace in my view. I started off with a whiskey sour, which was good, but not the best I've had. As an appetizer, I chose the lollipop lamb chops; medium-rare. They were delicious; seasoned perfectly. As a main course, I ordered the veal Parmesan. It was served with a side of pasta and was absolutely scrumptious. The tomato sauce was fruity, with just the right amount of spice. The veal was the size of a large plate, smothered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. After my drink, I switched to club soda. The bar tender kept my glass full for me. The manager stopped by to make sure I had everything I needed. I will definitely dine here again when in the area.

Bruce E.

Yelp
this restaurant has gone down hill! No more bread sticks, olive oil or Parmesan cheese. tonight was the worst. My wife ordered the filet medium rare from the "premium" menu. It was delivered medium to medium well. A new steak was delivered 15" later, also medium to medium well. My wife cut into it in front of the waiter, it was tough, and Manager. The waiter tried to argue that it was medium rare but the Manager said this is not right. This is the last time we will visit Carmines.
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
I came here for a work dinner. Not an Illinois resident so when my coworkers chose this place, I had no idea how great it was. This place is beautiful. We got sat out in the patio which is covered up and decorate with lights. We went around 5 on a Wednesday so it was not too busy. They were able to accommodate us so that's great. Food is delicious and service is great! Server was super nice. 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Tahlia W.

Yelp
We tried the chicken Parmesan, vodka penne, and tortellini. The service and ambiance were great. The chicken Parmesan was huge and could easily feed 1-2 people. The vodka pasta lacked flavor, it really just had no flavor.

Mike J.

Yelp
I ordered my usual drink (vodka and tonic) and it looked like a glass of ice with a shot in it. So I ordered a double and it was $38. complained to the manager and he was rude and said that's how it is. very disappointed. not going back.
google avatar

Yu-Feng C.

Yelp
My uncle was in town and took him here before he's flight out from ORD, perfect pitch stop for a quick dinner just 5 mins away from the airport. This place offers a warm, bustling atmosphere with hearty, family-style portions that are perfect for sharing. The menu features classic favorites like meatballs, pastas, tender chicken parmigiana --all served with bold, comforting flavors. The service is friendly and efficient, even during peak hours, and the overall experience feels like a celebration. Ideal for groups or special occasions.

Katelyn T.

Yelp
One of the most absurd dining experiences I have ever had. We came here to celebrate a birthday with a big family group. Drinks were flowing, appetizers were great, and my two-year-old son was quietly sitting at the table, eating his food, not bothering anyone. Then, right as the entrées arrived, the host came over to inform us that our toddler needed to remove his baseball hat because of their supposed "no-hats policy." Not before. Not when we walked in. Not when adults were ordering cocktails. No, when a two-year-old was in the middle of his meal. To make matters worse, the manager? marched over afterwards and, with smug satisfaction, said, "Thank you for removing the hat." Excuse me? You are policing toddlers' headwear like this is some Michelin-starred fine dining establishment in downtown Chicago? Newsflash: it is Carmine's in Rosemont. The entire interaction soured what should have been a celebratory night. Our poor server apologized repeatedly and bent over backwards to make up for management's ridiculous power trip, even bringing us extra extravagant birthday cake. The staff clearly knew how embarrassing and inappropriate it was, but management doubled down instead of showing an ounce of common sense or hospitality. Way to ruin a birthday. Way to make your staff uncomfortable. Way to guarantee I will never set foot in this place again. Absolute trash behavior from leadership. I will make sure to share this story far and wide because if you treat families like this, you do not deserve their business. Oh and the food is ~fine~

Yelp
The good, the bad and the ugly. Let's start with the good. The food was good - everything from the sausage and peppers to the fried calamari to the veal piccata was all very tasty. The 8-finger cavatelli arrabiata was a bit bland. Also good was the size of the credit ($62) our party of four was given because of our experience. Now to the bad: I've heard of bread being provided only on request, but how about asking us if we wanted any? And then when we asked about it, we learned that we separately had to ask for olive oil or butter, which is why neither was provided. Also bad was the manager we finally flagged down when our waitress appeared to have joined the Witness Protection Program. He never apologized nor checked back with us, but, on the positive side, he must have been the one who comped our appetizers. Now, the ugly. Our waitress (whose name we didn't catch - something "ana" - Eastern European) was terrible. Yes, we were seated in what was obviously an overflow room and we were her only table there but she actively ignored us. We had to ask for water - twice. A member of our party drinks a lot of Diet Coke and had to repeatedly ask for refills. Even after we complained, we received no apology, no improvement in service, etc. It's a shame because the food was good.

Michael C.

Yelp
Took a group of 20 out for a business dinner. Everything was excellent. Service was top notch and the Veal Parm was exceptional.
google avatar

Gregg B.

Yelp
A HUGE disappointment. One of the worst meals I have had in a while- but first..... The main room you walk into is very nice with wood paneled walls and an upscale steakhouse vibe. But we went past the bar to an inside outside tented area that was cheesy It took a while to get a servers attention but when we finally did i ordered a bottle of Quilt Cabernet that was fairly priced and promptly ordered a chopped salad and an eggplant stack The wine and bread came and I was able to relax. About 10 minutes later the appetizers came that looked great but the food execution was subpar The chopped salad came and looked fresh and colorful but it was not tossed or dressed. So we tossed and dressed it and served on our plates. All 3 of us took a bite with the same look of WTF? I think this salad is tasteless. Amazing how something that looked so fresh and good can have no taste Then we tried the eggplant stack. The fried eggplant pieces were like hard pieces of balsa wood. Not fried tender pieces of eggplant. The rest of the dish was tasty but it is called an eggplant tower where eggplant is supposed to be the star. It was hardly a star. It was dug up from being 6 feet under For entrees none of us were very hungry so I ordered shrimp scampi, another spicy calamari and another fettuccini Alfredo The shrimp came and it looked at first to be three huge jumbo shrimps on garlic bread with a scampi sauce around. But that was not what it was. It was 3 tiny shrimp dipped multiple times in an egg bath and then over regular bread with a mediocre sauce with peas and carrots. I was like what the F is this? I ate it but it was by far the worst attempt of shrimp scampi I ever had. Plus it was $24 so I felt violated with the cost to value relationship The spicy calamari was not spicy. It was good and the calamari was tender but if you call a dish spicy- it better have some kick The fettuccini Alfredo was decent. But very vanilla. Not memorable Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes for this place but I don't think we ordered anything complicated. Just a very bad representation and execution of food I would not come back. Too many great choices in Chicago and the burbs
google avatar

Carolyn K.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were 5 star as usual. My friend and I decided to split the giant appetizer of meatball and polenta and an antipasto salad. We also has a martini each and a dessert. We will definitely go back. The only downfall of an otherwise great night was as soon as the server Shelly realized we were splitting a meal and not getting entrees it felt as though we became non existent to her. Twice we had to stop her for bread and to take our dessert and coffee order.

Helene K.

Yelp
I have not been to Carmine's. It's our first time we dined as a group of seven during the week for dinner and I was very impressed with the impeccable food and service Carlos helped us choose delicious dishes, our server his recommendations were spot-on, and he ensured our preferences were met. we ordered 5 to 6 main dishes from ravioli to lasagna and few other pasta options. All were very good. The portions easily feed two people. We ended our meal with tiramisu, it had to be one of the best. For me at the top five. Throughout our dining experience, Carlos' attentive service made us feel valued and well taken care of. I definitely will be back for date night or even a family dinner.

Jake B.

Yelp
First off it's exactly what I expected. Carmines garlic knots were perfect. Light and fluffy and great fresh garlic and cheese flavor. I had the veal parm. It was perfect, massive portion and so much cheese on it. Sauce tasted fresh like it was just made. The cannoli was spot on. Family had a spaghetti and meatballs. One plate is enough for 2 mid size eater's. Service was top notch on it and the atmosphere was what I expected in Chicago for an Italian joint. Must try if in that area of town.

John P.

Yelp
Food quality was incredibly high, generous portions and a wonderful server, Alfonchino B. Ambience is very nice and restaurant is spotless. I'll certainly return here. Bravo!!

Carla A.

Yelp
Carmine's is tucked away in the Rosemont area but still a beautiful location. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. We were greeted by the hostesses and seated quickly. It was a busy Sunday night but service didn't lack. Our server was attentive and kind. I was craving pasta and went for the lasagna. My husband went for the New York strip, his usual. The cut was huge and delicious, but if I'm being honest nothing made Carmine's stand out from our favorite steak houses. While the fettuccine Alfredo I usually get is a great staple for me, I'll probably stick to take out and not dine in.

Yelp
WORST SERVICE EVER! Management needs an ego check. Wish I could give it ZERO stars!! Decided to pickup dinner after getting family from the airport. Spent $150 on carry out. Everything tasted good except the polenta dish. Genuinely the saltiest food I've ever tried - had me wondering if the chef accidentally dropped the whole bottle of salt in the pot. Completely inedible and disappointing. Since they were closed by the time I could call, I called the next day and the manager was dismissive, disrespectful and honestly just disgusting. Told me that the recipe is just salty (I've had it before), and they can't do anything since I didn't bring it back the day of and it's not their fault that I disliked the dish. Wouldn't take accountability or let me speak whatsoever. THEN DECIDED TO SAY THANK YOU AND HANG UP!! It's insane that management feels comfortable talking to and treating loyal customers in a repulsive manner like that. So pathetic - won't ever be back.

Yelp
I wanted to give Carmines a bad review because they forgot the bread but I can't. The food here is excellent. This is not your local Maggiano's . It is a step above and there's nothing wrong with Maggianos. The mussels, grilled shrimp and squid appetizers were fine not spectacular. Same with the sausage pasta. The brick oven chicken however is best roasted chicken I've ever had, period end of story. Lightly seasoned yet full of flavor. The lamb was grilled and season to perfection. Zero aftertaste. Even the roasted potatoes were crispy delicious. Christian our server was excellent. P.S Christian did not forget the bread he had to ask for it twice.

Yelp
I would like to highly recommend Carmine's in Rosemont. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is top notch and the food is outstanding! Congratulations to the manager, Phil Girardi, and a very special thank you to Kat, Lindsey and David for helping to make our event there very special! You all Rock! Carol

Yelp
The food was good and drinks were ok. The reason I am writing a review is because we were underwhelmed with our experience. It felt that the staff was busy catching up from start to finish. First we were a big party of 12 and got placed at a very inconvenient table for a party our size. We were placed in bench seating against the wall. For a party our size that should not be acceptable. This leaves half our party trapped and causes everyone on the bench to get up anytime anyone has to leave for any reason. But it was busy, so we just accepted the table. Then it took almost 20 min to get a menu/ get greeted by our server. Julian was our server. He was not rude, but appeared overwhelmed with tables and was rushing throughout the service. Drinks came, but we didn't have any butter plates/ utensils. We asked food runners/ bussers several times, but it never came. Finally, we were able to put in our appetizers and dinner order after nearly an hour of being seated. Julian was nice, but he was rushed and left quickly and was not able to finish our order. We ordered 2 dozen oysters and they came out, but not everyone at the table had Utensils/ napkins. People at our table were sharing plates and forced to use the table cloth as a napkin. We obviously asked wait staff for both, but it never came until much later. Once we finished the oysters, one side dish came out much earlier than the rest of the food. So it was shared amongst the entire table since it had been 90 minutes since being seated and our meal still wasn't not there. Finally the food came out, and it was very chaotic. None of the food runners knew where the food was supposed to go. And there was an extra dish that came that no one ordered. And for people that orders protein, they did not have the proper utensils to eat their food. The food all came and we enjoyed the food, which was probably the best part. But no one came around to refill water or bus the table from our appetizers. The oyster trays were left at the table for almost the entire service, that the tray of ice was all water when it was finally picked up. Since no one was coming by to pick the big oyster trays, I proceeded to lift one of the trays above my head to give the wait staff a hint. This was not to be obnoxious, but to create room at the table, which was non existent since our table had not been properly bussed. After eating the food, we were given one dessert menu and Julian and asked for one person to decide for the whole table since he didn't have any more dessert menus. I'm sure he was joking, but he really had no other solutions. He gave the menu to my brother even though it was my Dad's birthday and we let that be known several times throughout the service. We still did what we could and had one person make decisions for dessert since we all just wanted bites anyway. The desserts came, and we had utensils for dessert, but there were no shared plates. And no one came around to ask until the ice cream melted from one of the desserts. So everyone at the table just passed 4 plates around among 12 people. It had now been 3 hours from start to finish. Our reservation was 6:30 pm and didn't finish until 9:30 PM. That is way too long to be there, considering we had kids to get home. We were celebrating our Dad's birthday, and after a tough year we were really looking forward to celebrating together as a family. But the experience was not good especially when this restaurant was chosen from all the other choices we could have gone to in the Rosemont area. For a Restaurant part of the Rose Bud chain, this night did not hit the mark. And we would not bring a group our size back. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 since the food was the positive part of the night.

Yelp
This is as my first time at Carmines and the moment we walked in there it was 5 star service. The food was amazing and HUGE portions so it's impossible to go home hungry. Our server David B. was an absolute legend and made the experience that much better. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Had a great date night here on Saturday evening. Wondering if our experience would have been slightly better if we went a little earlier, we had a 915 PM reservation. My fiancé tried the Italian margarita and really enjoyed it. I had a Negroni and the limoncello bourbon cocktail, I think the drinks were well made. We had the crab cake for a starter and I really enjoyed it. For my entree I had a special, the beef short rib and risotto. I expected the beef to be tender and fall of the bone, so I was disappointed when it wasn't. However, the flavor was good and the risotto was deliciously cheesy and creamy. My fiancé had the baked ziti which had a good sausage flavor, but he'd probably order something different next time. For dessert we had the coconut cake, which was fantastic. I'm not much of a cake person but it was moist and not overly sweet, if you like coconut it's a must try, be aware though, it's a huge piece! I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're thinking about it, we're glad we did.

Yelp
We were seated right away. This place is great for large groups. Cocktails came out quick and the menu had a nice variety. But portions are huge! There are plenty of great Italian restaurants in the Chicagoland area but if you want to go to a place that handles large groups well and the food is solid, this is your place. The stand out dish was their eggplant appetizer but I would have totally gotten it as my entree. Calamari was good too. Our service was on point. We came on a Friday night and they were attentive and friendly. Based on previous reviews read, we had some concerns. But honestly we had no issues.

Yelp
The sausage and peppers appetizer was very good.. I had the chicken vesuvio and I added a side dish of pasta...The red sauce on the pasta was literally just all salt..A salt sauce..I could not eat it. It was never like this before.. I honestly thought that the server was very good. Attentive, and a good personality..UNTIL I GOT HOME.. I took half of the chicken home. He wrapped it up for me. And I latter found out that. When he wrapped up the left over chicken. He left out all of the vesuvio sauce..All of it was gone. Not one drop. This is a real jerk move..Who does that?? I threw it out... A real dumb move..Enclosed is a picture of my leftover plate. Notice all the good vesuvio juices left over also...Well I guess they recycled the juices for the next customer... .

Yelp
Came here on a business lunch, it is beautiful inside, a lot of dining space. It is however very loud. The food was delicious, service was good except for the one part where the waiter took away my cheese and I was still working on it. LOL, I don't think he heard me right. That's ok, kinda laughed about it. Next time I come back, I think I will clutch my plate harder, lol Anyway really recommend this please, great service and delicious food. My chicken fettucini alfredo was so good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well. Definitely recommend this place.
