Love this place! Service is always fast and nice our waiter was amazing and very helpful. Even with a busy packed restaurant the service was great. The food is family style dishes so they are very big but, everything is so good to share! The vodka sauce was amazing will definitely be back.

First time here and I absolutely loved the place the minute I walked in, staff were so super friendly. Our waiter was amazing I believe his name was kelvin very helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are enough for you to take home and eat the next day. I had a great birthday here! 🥳

Eventhough my order was a last minute family request on one of the busiest holidays, Valentine's Day. Stephanie the manager, was FANTASTIC, patient and kind. She worked with me to determine a menu for a party of 9 people that was just DELICIOUS. The delivery driver arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled delivery time who was very kind and gently placed the huge order inside my home on the decorative holiday table. Then again family and we're not surprised due to my family being customers for the past 10+ years. Besides the scrumptious food the staff is completely and utterly AMAZING. We love and thank you CARMINES for being part of our extended family ♥️ ♥️ P.S. In the attached photo the desserts were not placed on the table at this moment but take my word for it they were DIVINE!!!

Google
I recommend making reservations if you’re going during weekends and during special occasions. Came here during the marathon weekend and it was packed! Otherwise, this location tends to have openings compared to Times Square. Super big portions (family style) and good food. I highly recommend the antipasti selection. Can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu.

Google
The gluten free pasta wasn’t the best but it can be a hit & a miss with that. The salad was awesome! Same for the calamari & baked mussels! Portion is crazy more than enough for two ppl, I would say more family style of dinning.

Google
Wowwww each plate is large enough to share. It was so much food we had to pass on desserts. The wait staff and manager were amazing constantly checking on our table. The manager even cleaned off plates from the tables which is amazing because normally managers stay in the back and it was great to see the interaction with everybody in the restaurand that she supported her staff by actually helping clear off tables and talking to the guests. I give this restaurant 10 stars, and I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back. Our waiter was awesome and took the time to explain how large the dishes are so that we did not overorder are food? There were 6 of us.We ordered three meals and we still had tons of food left over.

It was a beautiful restaurant with great service, The food wasn't bad a little on the dry side but the portions were great for big family dinners with plenty to share

This review is for my experience at the bar eating off the lunch menu. First I had to ask my server to clean the bar where there were several visible crumbs, he accommodated the request by pouring vodka on a napkin and wiping my area down. I ordered linguine with garlic and oil very plain with not much garlic and not much flavor but plenty of hard inedible bits of garlic rind. I had to ask for a refill of water in which I was given warm tap water with no ice. Overall I expected an elevated dining experience from Carmines. Based on my experience I would not recommend this location nor would I return.

Yelp
We had a reservation here during the holidays after a long day at the museum. They took us once we all arrived and were seated at a large round table where we were able to easily chat with one another. The menu, as such at any Carmine's location, is family-style. We ordered three entrees and two appetizers and it was enough food for a group double our size! The chicken was great but we were a bit disappointed with the spaghetti. For dessert we tried something called the Titanic which is a huge sundae over a huge brownie with every topping you could possibly think of. I don't eat dairy but the brownie was delish and others raved about the homemade whipped cream. Service was great! Our waiter was attentive and had a great time with our loud group. The location is close to the subway, as well as street parking and a parking garage down the street.

Yelp
I came here for restaurant week before arriving I was so excited and looked over the menu picking what items I would choose. I really wanted to bring my daughter so that she would be able to experience the crazy portions and food. I drove here during the week parking was not an issue. This as my first time at this location the bar was amazing large and old fashioned looking just beautiful. We had a reservation so we went right upstairs to be seated and sat at a half booth. Since this was the first day of restaurant week there was a lot of confusion I mean it took us so long to order. They actually changed the menu from the one that was online and it was so unclear about how it actually worked. We were told it made more sense to order off regular menu because it would be more expensive. Which lead us to not order from the restaurant week menu. To drink I first had an espresso martini that tasted like just coffee I would not recommend unless you just want iced coffee. For my second drink I got what was like a rum punch in a large glass it was really, really good. It was not to strong I mean it was perfectly made I would def recommend this drink it's a 10/10! For food we ordered the baked clams they weren't my cup of tea I'm starting to think I'm not a fan at all this is the second place that I did not enjoy them at. We hot the wings which my daughter & Bf did enjoy but I wasn't impressed it was a little spicy I do think that was the sauce on the bottom. The caesar salad was def huge we all enjoyed it, it had the perfect amount of dressing and we got the anchovies on the side instead of in the salad. For the entree we got the chicken parmigiana over pasta since we wanted both it was better to just add pasta for about $12 instead of getting a completely separate order. The dish was good not great but I guess it is what it is. For dessert we got the tiramisu which was definitely big with chocolate shavings. This dessert is my boyfriend's favorite for me I'm just starting to have it and get used to it. We brought some back home and my mother really liked it she mentioned she would like more so maybe one day soon.

Yelp
After years of having holiday lunch fare delivered to my job (most likely from another lovation), the experience here was all around substandard... except for the superb customer service. Not sure if the cook was overwhelmed that day. Overtired too hard to please. But the best thing was the garlic bread. Followed by the steak (kinda hard to ruin porterhouse). Some were able to get medium pieces and others got well done. Didn't really see any medium rare that was requested. Odd that an entire table was allocated to coats, meanwhile there were not enough seats for our group. An extra table had to be prepared. The drinks service was on point - no complaints from anyone there. The food was ok. I guess we all expected and did not get the "wow" factor we are accustomed to from Carmine's. Maybe next time.

Yelp
I have eaten at the Times Square location in the past. Today, we were in the Broadway area on the Upper West Side. Well, the service was not great. We ordered strawberry lemonades and did not get them until almost the end of the meal. The lemonade was delicious. It had a nice amount of sweetness. They give a wide variety of breads. Some have onions, some are plain and some are pizza flavored. My picture did not do it justice. We only ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The portion is astronomical. It really is enough for four people but there were two of us. We wanted to order a salad but everything is one size. Family sized and they are gigantic. The spaghetti and meatballs were very good. I remember liking it more in the past but that was their other location. Our server rarely came around. She seemed to give other tables attention who ordered a lot more items than we did. It would be better if they offered half portions so we could order more things. We left over half the food and were still extremely full. There wasn't even room for a gigantic dessert.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for an educational dinner last week. The doctor presented on a medication that is prescribed to treat COVID. It was very informative and interesting. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Carmine's serves food family style so there were large platters with an abundance of food. The garlic bread was warm and very good. We were served Salad, Penne alla Vodka, Eggplant Parmigiana, Beef Lasagna and Chicken. Everything was delicious. I even took food home because there was so much food left over. I would definitely come back to Carmine's because everything was so delicious. The food is very filling and hearty. I'll tell everyone I know about this restaurant.

Yelp
Had my Xmas party for my guys here last night. Great atmosphere for a party. Yes loud but very open and airy room Ordered way too much food but it's Xmas Fried Calamari Fried zucchini strings Hot antipasto Cold antipasto Omg each was better than The next . Not your normal items in each a large variety of different items all were great Ordered couple pastas. Penne alla vodka Rigatoni meat bolognese Both were exceptional really good flavor pasta cooked perfect Then for main course Chicken parm Salmon oreganata 45 ounce porterhouse contandina style Mid rare with sausage and peppers and roasted peppers Chicken parm was ok nothing crazy Salmon everyone said they loved it Porterhouse was cooked perfect temp but lacked seasoning. Sausage was really good. Potatoes crispy All dishes are family style with is great for parties. Prices are actually not too bad. Portions are crazy. Wait staff is good but they are understaffed. Parking is hell it's NYC. This is def a place to go if you have an occasion.

Yelp
Been to many Carmine's and this was my second time at the upper west side location. Loved the ambiance for Christmas with all the decorations and lights. I personally prefer this location over the times square location as it feels a bit roomier and spacious. Staff was nice, and we came with a large group for company holiday luncheon. But I wished my server would just let me complete my order before always stopping me and suggesting I get two portions of an order. I know these items are big and I'm ordering a lot of other dishes. So i really didn't see the necessity to keep suggesting I order double portions of calamari and chicken parmesan and penne vodka. When I was already ordering so many other things for everyone to try everything. Food is as expected super delicious. Highly recommend the calamari, fried zucchini, rigatoni with sausage and broccoli, shrimp scampi, white clam sauce, tiramisu, and titatnic. Also for drinks, the strawberry spumante was delicious and dangerously tasted like just like juice.

Yelp
I've ordered twice from Carmine's Catering on the Upper West Side, and both times were incredible. I chose their Taste of Sicily Package, which is a fantastic deal that includes a salad, two pastas, two entrees, and dessert. It also comes with focaccia, grated cheese, and the option to add drinks or purchase chafing dishes. The variety and quality were perfect for feeding a crowd! For the salad, I selected Carmine's Salad, which was amazing. The salad is a hearty mix of fresh greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, olives, roasted red peppers, and includes cured Italian meats, and cheese. It's tossed in a zesty homemade vinaigrette, offering a perfect balance of fresh, savory, and tangy flavors. This was a great start to the meal. The pasta options were a huge hit and the portions were huge. I ordered Linguine with Garlic & Olive Oil, Penne alla Vodka, Baked Ziti with Meat, and Rigatoni & Broccoli in White Sauce. The baked ziti was a crowd favorite. The Baked Ziti was rich, with perfectly cooked ziti pasta layered in a hearty tomato sauce, seasoned ground meat, and a blend of cheeses Each bite delivers a perfect combination of tender pasta and gooey cheese, making it a crowd favorite that's both satisfying and indulgent. The rigatoni and broccoli offered a great vegan option. Every pasta dish was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. For entrees, I went with Eggplant Parmigiana (another vegan-friendly choice) and Chicken Lemon & Butter. The Chicken Lemon & Butter is a classic Italian-American dish that combines tender, lightly breaded chicken cutlets with a luscious, tangy lemon-butter sauce. It was a crowd-pleasing favorite that paired beautifully with the pasta, The eggplant parmigiana earned rave reviews for its rich taste and texture. Dessert was the perfect finishing touch. The Bread Pudding was yummy, but the Chocolate Covered Cannoli stole the show as the ultimate crowd favorite. Carmine's made everything easy by including plates and utensils. Their staff was friendly, helpful, and professional, and the delivery process was smooth. Overall, Carmine's Catering offers outstanding food, impeccable service, and great value. I highly recommend them and look forward to ordering again!

Yelp
Great spot for dinner generally.. Family size plates so everyone can eat a great meal sure to satisfy. On this visit I decided to hit the bar area for their happy hour menu and ordered the Chicken Parm sliders and they were delicious! So if you're looking for a nice Happy Hour check out Carmines! Have a great one!

Dfrancisco G.

Yelp
This place is so busy you need a reservation 2-3 days before, there food is really good I been recommending this place to all my family, friends and clients, it's a little very crowded and a little echoey sounds from one table to other, so ambience is just ok, but if we talk about food, this is really good and must try in NYC.

Randi P.

Yelp
Always a wonderful meal. I love going here with a large group of people because the dishes are so big and we love sharing. I love their Caesar salad. It's the best ever! Tonight we also have the caramel salad, which is also delicious. And we can't forget the linguine clam sauce.

Emilia R.

Yelp
I'd like to start this off by saying this place has very good food. That is why we come to restaurants, we want the food to be yummy, the service to be speedy but we don't want to be forced out too quickly. This place definitely has it down to a science. The food is pricey but it's all meant to be split. While I like this idea I don't love it. I'm more of a tapas girl and like to try many things rather than family style where you only get to taste one or two things. So be prepared for huge portions to share with your friends and family. Our waiter, an older man, was very good and personable. We did have an issue where my boyfriend forgot his ID, and they refused to serve him even though he's about to turn 30. We cleared it up because I was lucky enough to remember I had a picture of his old ID card. Other than the food, I probably wouldn't come back. It's loud, very busy, the tables are packed in and I just hate floating in the middle of a room with a bunch of other large parties. Every person in there seemed to be celebrating a birthday. This space is not intimate nor personal. But if you want large portions with people shouting to talk all around you, this is the place! The food genuinely deserved the four stars.

Darina H.

Yelp
We were here the other day for post-NYC marathon celebration dinner. The portions are very big (think family style, shared meals/plates). The setting/ambiance is very classic new york city italian, think large tables, classic black and white decor and pictures on the wall, bustling wait staff, loud and noisy. The bread in the basket was very...stale. Not great and not impressed. The Caesar salad was good- but nothing to write home about. The spaghetti and meatballs were okay. The calamari was delicious (probably my fav thing on the menu), the fried zucchini - HUGE portion and decent. The chicken and pasta was ... plain. The dessert was alright (Titantic sundae was a titanic nightmare). More whip cream than anything. Generally speaking - just not sure I would recommend. The waiter even forgot the green tea that we ordered and still charged us. I just don't think I would come back here again.

Spencer K.

Yelp
Huge portions. Unfortunately, the food is not very good. Service was attentive and very pleasant. Ambiance: classic NYC Italian restaurant. The Food: Chicken Romana was very bland. Penne with vodka sauce watery. The pastas (penne and linguini) were prepared well, the sauces were bland. Garlic bread appetizer, also quite bland. Good if you are feeding a lot of people. Bad if you know what really good Italian should taste like.

John S.

Yelp
Everything was great we ordered steaks, raviolis other sorts of pasta dishes all that was great But but don't ever order the dessert tiramisu that was the worst I ever had in my life. I don't know if they just serve whip cream only on a dish with some chocolate sprinkler because there was no biscuits in that dish. So if you'd like to pay $25 or more for your dessert, you just burning away your money Don't order it

Philip L.

Yelp
Carmine's balances a classy vibe with Italian comfort cuisine. The spacious interior is great for groups and private party rooms are available for events and group dining. Service is friendly and professional. It can get fairly loud and crowded during peak hours, but I think it's just part of the experience. Portion sizes are HUGE and are served family-style, so come with a big appetite. I recommend coming with a group of at least 4 and ordering to share. The Fried Calamari is deliciously crispy and is a must-order appetizer. The stuffed mushrooms and mussels are good too. Some of the breaded appetizers can be a bit inconsistent at times, but it was never a big issue. All the pasta I've tried so far has been delicious and well-prepared. The quality and flavor are standard for a good Italian restaurant. The Penne Alla Vodka seems to be the most popular, but my personal favorite is the Linguine with White Clam Sauce. Both the Ceasar Salad and Caprese Salad are great options if you're looking to share a salad item. The Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Marsala are also tasty--always a solid option for mains. For dessert, I recommend either the Cheesecake or Tiramisu. Overall, I recommend Carmine's, especially for anyone planning on dining with a big group.

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Carmines is one of my all-time favorite places to go for Italian food with friends. Spoiler alert it is noisy, and crowded. But the food is amazing family size portions, you need to go with at least four people and very carefully navigate what you're going to order because the platters are huge. Some of my favorites are the pasta Pomodoro with prosciutto, the salads are amazing, the shrimp areganatta, the eggplant is a huge loaf. I believe this Sunday special has like four different choices in it that you could share, which is smaller portions. But I have never been disappointed in this restaurant, my friends and I all love it.

Sam S.

Yelp
Many years ago on my first trip to NYC I went to Carmine's near Times Square and remember liking it, so I was excited to try this location when some friends visiting NYC said they had it on their list. I'm not sure if my taste has become more refined over the years or if this time the food just wasn't as good as my first time. The baked clams tasted only like parmesan and breadcrumbs and not really much of clams at all. The sausage pasta was alright, but nothing to write home about. The portions are very large and the large dining room ambience brings me a feeling of nostalgia for an era before my time, so I would treat this more like a tourist attraction than a place where I'd come regularly.

Alexandra C.

Yelp
My son's best friend raved about the Titanic Sundae -- so we went there for that and unfortunately got 2 meals as well. First off, all the bread in the basket tasted stale. The pasta bolognese was awful.. I think it made me sick. I actually called to ask if they had any food poisoning cases but never received a call back. The meat in it tasted bad and sauce was overly salted. The pasta was not overcooked but very undercooked (not al dente). Chicken parm was too tough -- but this dish was at least edible. Their tomato sauce should be much better. Terrible food quality. Titanic sundae was very good -though everyone agreed-- way too much whipped cream compared to amount of ice cream. The brownie is very rich and good and the whipped cream is delicious- as they must whip their own. But the food............ Not at all the food Carmine's in Midtown was 14 years ago.

Alexa M.

Yelp
While in the area for a meeting and very hungry, me and a co-worker decided to try and get a table at Carmines since we both never had it before. With no reservation there was a lot of available tables outside and although it was hot, the overheard fans did a decent job at cooking us down. The service although we were outside and the only table outside was still excellent which to me is very important. Everything came out fast and we were checked on several times. The portion was huge and we split it, it's family style and one portion of penne a la vodka was too much for just 2 people which is nice to take home some leftovers. The Aperol fizz was INCREDIBLE! Would definitely return here.

Yelp
A Reliable Spot for Comfort Pasta with Stellar Service Carmine's Restaurant offers a solid dining experience with a focus on hearty comfort pasta dishes. While the food didn't necessarily leave a lasting impression, it's a reliable choice for those seeking satisfying, no-frills Italian cuisine. The pasta dishes are good, decent, and fulfill the craving for classic comfort food. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave with a satisfied appetite. If you're in the mood for reliable, well-prepared pasta without any culinary theatrics, Carmine's is the place to go. One standout aspect of Carmine's is the impeccable service. Our waitress was exceptionally attentive, ensuring my boyfriend and I had a pleasant dining experience. It was a nice surprise that they remembered and celebrated my birthday, adding a personal touch to our visit. In the end, Carmine's strikes a balance between offering tasty comfort pasta meals and providing excellent service. While it might not be the type of place that will have you raving to your friends, it's a dependable choice when you're in the mood for a satisfying meal with great portions, and your money is well spent here.

Tai G.

Yelp
Carmine's is a great place to come too with family. The portions are shareable, all the staff is friendly and they don't make you feel awful for brining your kids out to eat. Carmine's is very busy so even if you make a reservation especially on a busy night expect to wait a bit. We had a reservation on a Saturday night and we waited 40 mins for our table. We were a table of 11 and we ordered different things. One of the specials was Carbonara and damn it was sooo goood. The shrimp scampi is always a favorite of mine and the calamari. We didn't feel rushed and I feel the price is right for the amount of food you get but it does add up if you get a lot of dishes. Carmines gives you a family feel. When you look around the restaurant all you see is families or groups of people and it feels nice. Overall worth it!

Izel V.

Yelp
Excellent service coupled with delicious food warrants five star in my book! I wasn't fond of the first dish, but upon alerting the waiter, they remade the food promptly and the second plate was so delicious. The lunch plate was big enough to fill up my boyfriend and I. Overall, it was I had a good experience and will be back in the future.

Jean H.

Yelp
My friend hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at Carmine's for about 30 people. The food and service were great, and the service was friendly and efficient. The food was preordered before the meal, and next courses were brought out as we finished the previous course. The portions are GIANT. I eat a lot, and I feel like each plate can be easily shared with at least 4 people. The waiters even sang a song at the end with dessert for the happy couple. We had a private dining area that fit the whole party, though seated a little close together. Decorations set the mood for a traditional Italian family dinner.

Yelp
WOW!!!!! I Have Heard about Carmine's Over The Years. Finally, I Went As Part Of My Nephew's Wedding Party (01/10/25) Last Nite. OMG!!! The Ambience Was So Pleasant. As Big As It Is, The Noise Level Was So Low. It Has A 'Happy' Family Like Atmosphere. Kudos On That Alone. The Staff Works As A Great Team. You See The Sincere Interaction Among Them. A Special Great Big "THANK YOU" To Our Server "Danielle"!!!! She's The One! Patient and Well Versed On The Menu And The Specials. Thank You To The Person(s) Who Sent Over Glasses Of Champagne To The Bride And Groom As Well As Carmine's For The Wine!!! The Newlyweds Said That Carmine's Is Their "Go To" Restaurant For Family Style Italian Food And Atmosphere. That's Why They Celebrated Their Special Occasion At This Restaurant And Location. Italian Food Is Their Favorite. The Portions Were Unbelievable. They Were Huge!!! I Had The Cheese Ravioli. I Should say, My Sister And I Shared It And Just Has The Leftovers Today. Delicious!!! The Different Types Of Breads And The Garlic Dipping Olive Oil!!!! The House Sauce For Wingett Is Delicious!!!! Thank You Carmine's For Highlighting The Occasion!!!! PS. Will Fast Before I Come Again, Lol!!! Thank You

Justean D.

Yelp
Came here on a random Tuesday night and had the best Espresso Martini. Simply made to perfection, thank you Zaire for the great service and being very attentive. Will def be back!

Alfredo D.

Yelp
A New York institution, Carmine's offers family style dining at a fair price. Came here with my family and we really enjoyed our meal. For what we got the price was more than reasonable, about $25 per person including drinks. The food is good- New York Italian and the service was excellent.

Ricky O.

Yelp
Carmine's is easily one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city, especially for groups and with family & friends. We love their lamb bolognese - it's so flipping flavorful and delicious! I could eat that every night of the week. Highly recommend going!

Ryan S.

Yelp
I went in a large group. We got several items, including the calamari, a shrimp pasta, chicken parmigiana, and chicken marsala, and everything was ok (3/5). The chicken parmigiana and shrimp pasta were the best, but they weren't great. The shrimp pasta also didn't have much shrimp. The service was also ok (3/5). The interior of the restaurant is nice, and it is easy to have a conversation with your group.

Romi K.

Yelp
The food here is always wonderful. I love coming here with a large group. It's always busy and a good time at Carmines.

Dave H.

Yelp
Typical family style smorgasbord. Very touristy! Salad was good. Their bread tasted like something you get in Kansas.

Eddie D.

Yelp
Home cooked Italian food, family style and great for groups. Service is quick and you don't feel you're being rushed like any other restaurants. Definitely recommend when around the area.

Millie C.

Yelp
Wonderful very lively restaurant. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. We had stuffed mushrooms, prawns and pasta. Food was served family style. Prawns were fresh. Service was amazing.

Christie S.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday with 4 other people. We made a reservation and got seated right away. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we got in but it got 70-80% filled by the time we started eating. We got 3 appetizers and 2 entrees to share and that included zucchini fries, baked clams, fried calamari, shrimp pasta with white sauce, and lasagna. The server told us that the restaurant was family style. We knew the portion of the food was going to be big but when the food came out, it still shocked us. The portion was not just big, it was ginormous, especially the zucchini fries and fried calamari! That zucchini fries could probably be an appetizer for 8-10 people! All the food tasted great and I liked the baked clams and shrimp pasta the most, though the shrimp pasta was a little too salty. We were hoping to get a dessert before we came but after eating all the food, we knew it was impossible so we weren't able to try any. Overall, great experience! Server was very friendly and we loved all the dishes. Ordering 3 appetizers was probably a mistake and 2 would probably have been perfect. We had a lot of zucchini fries and lasagna left and we just packed it home. The total after tips and tax came out to be around $200, which was not bad considering the amount of food that we get. Will come back again but probably only with big groups!

Amanda T.

Yelp
Carmine's is an absolute go-to for me and my family anytime we're in New York. It's a great no frills restaurant with family style comfort pastas and Italian food. It's not anything fancy and the food isn't extraordinary compared to other places you could find, but they're always so consistent and deliver delicious food every single time, I truly don't think I've ever been to NY without stopping by here at least once. Portions are MASSIVE (hence family style), so definitely bring a lot of friends and family if you want to try this place out. Their servers and staff are so kind and friendly, which made our dining experience more than amazing every single time.

Linda H.

Yelp
Hey Carmine's, how about you be upfront about how your Restaurant Week menu works before we waste our time going to your restaurant? I went in for lunch today (8/8) as a solo diner and asked for the restaurant week menu which I got with no problems - so far so good. However I noticed the price wasn't on the menu and when I asked the waiter to confirm he spoke with someone and came back and said oh this menu is only available for parties of 2 or more. Nowhere was this noted online including on the restaurant week website. I've been a steady customer for nearly 20 years and have had no problems in the past ordering restaurant week menu as a solo diner so this is a first. I get that you might take a hit but the least you can do is to be upfront about this "policy." Two of my friends canceled their ressies after I told them what happened. So be warned, solo diners - Carmine's doesn't want you - at least if you're ordering off the RW menu. And oh, I was the only customer in the restaurant. And then there was none, after I walked out.

Yelp
Always super busy. Must make reservations if you ever decide to come here. Love that their portions are all family style so we can share. Came in for a table of 11 people and the tables weren't big enough to fit us all. Does feel a little cramp inside with people walking over us to get to other tables. Must try their calamari!

Yelp
The food wasn't good. The undercooked pasta tasted like cardboard. The red sauce was OK, but the pasta was inedible.

Yelp
I recently went to Carmines for the first time for a work dinner and it was PHENOMENAL! I was blown away not only by the food and waitstaff, but the whole dining experience! Since we had a group of 20, we called ahead and made a reservation. The group was seated promptly by a courteous hostess. The food was unbelievable! Serves brought out family-styled appetizers, entrees, and dessert in waves. We started with a delicious antipasta, roasted red peppers with fresh mozz, and cesar salad followed by lemon garlic salmon, spaghetti & meatballs, chicken marsala, and chicken broccoli & sausage. The dishes were giant- piled high with fresh, perfectly prepared italian cuisine. To bring it all home we finished with mouthwatering, homemade tiramisu.

Yelp
Festive place for a birthday celebration. The staff is great and very attentive. The fried calamari is a delicious appetizer. Everything is served family style so it is a lot of fun!! The steak was fantastic!! Everyone loved it as well as the chicken parmigiana!!

Yelp
Food great, front of house had an attitude. We reserved for 7. They brought us to a table set for 6. When we said we reserved for 7 and could they put us as a table for seven; the woman got snippy and told us to go wait with the crowd at the crowd at the door because we wanted a bigger table. When I explained again that we just wanted seats for everyone in our reservation; she was like "oh" - and added a chair. Didn't add an extra plate, glass or silverware. No apology.

Yelp
Carmines UWS location is a "gem" on the UWS. I have dined in the restaurant & now more often get deliveries on-line through Grub Hub. The food quality is consistently Excellent! In this review I want to laud an unsung hero-Anthony: who is on the online order customer service line. After I made my order on GRUB HUB app, I called the restaurant & spoke to Anthony. I stated to him that on the Grub Hub order "form" I continue to check that my family needs utensils; with the order. Anthony stated that the restaurant was unable to see the checked off box on the Grub Hub site. He said it was beneficial that I called in. *In over 8 orders I still had not received my utensils, after requesting them. I am aware of the "Small Stuff" Law! Since I was not receiving my utensils, upon REQUEST, with my online orders I started calling in, to the restaurant. Still with no success- until Now! Anthony is the Only One, who I talked to to making sure I got utensils , plates & bread, after I Requested them. I APPRECIATE him; so much. Please reward this excellent employee, ANTHONY, for all of his hard work, diligence & efficiency!

Yelp
Food and service were top notch. It was our first time here and thankfully were able to make a last minute reservation. Our waitress did an amazing job of recommending different items and was spot on, on everything. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
The porterhouse steak was excellent with potatoes, peppers, and onions. However, the potatoes were cold. Calamari and sauce were excellent as well. They made up for the potatoes by giving us a plate of new potatoes. Overall, it was a great experience, and the staff was great. We went back to Carmines on 11/23/22 for a pre Thanksgiving dinner with my girlfriend, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend. Great time and great food as always. Only one hiccup. We had to wait a minute to get a table, even with a 615pm reservation. Granted, we got there at 530pm to check in. Hey, things happen, lol. Definitely be back!

Yelp
Large servings and perfect for a huge group! However, not the best Italian food I've had. My favorite item that we had was the garlic bread. Most of the items were decent. Definitely appropriate for a group meal rather than a date vibe

Yelp
Came for Saturday night dinner with friends, glad we had reservations it was packed! Food is excellent as always, our server was great because she was honest when we were ordering which saved us from over ordering. The chicken Parmigiana is a staple, I will always recommend this dish as it is something you can never go wrong with. The chicken is the perfect thickness, flavorful, and tender. I recommend adding the chicken parmigiana to be over pasta and it's the perfect portion instead of ordering a whole separate dish of pasta. The calamari appetizer is a perfect combination of little squids and rings crisped to perfection. The penne vodka is a must have dish, beyond flavorful and filling. First time ordering the side of meatballs and they were so tender and delicious. You will always have leftovers to bring home!

Yelp
Very delicious food served family style. A lot of food - a lot! Whatever you order will be delicious and you'll have leftovers. The fly was a disappointment but nothing a wipe couldn't fix. Service was good even when it's crazy busy.

Yelp
We had an rsvp for 6 once we arrived we were seated right away. Drinks bottle of Pinot Grigio & Red , not bad wine just goes well with the food. For starters we went with the Caprese salad & Salad especial, both very good but it was too much could have just had one. On the pastas Penne & meatballs , ahh didn't really like this much meatballs tasted frozen. The Garlic & oil spaghetti was decent but tasted like it was missing & needed some salt. The Shrimp parm pasta we got since we needed a gluten free option they liked it. Chicken scarpariello was good nice taste to the chicken & finally the Egg plant parm which was good. We were starving but probably should have gotten 1-2 dishes less even as much as u think u can eat it's just really a lot of food. We happen to be celebrating a birthday & got the Strawberry short cake, nice light taste not crazy sweet it was good. Decent size location, nice light music in the background made for a good ambiance, service was good & prices for the most part are decent considering u get such large portions, We had a good dinner.
