"This lively, centrally located restaurant quickly gained popularity for being owned by the well-known Chef Ljubomir Stanisic (head of the 100 Maneiras group). It describes itself as a Mexican gastrobar and is one of those casual places that entices your taste buds. The dishes, generally quite well-balanced, are designed for a modern and informal ambience, with subtle nods to Mexican culture, striking the right harmony of flavour and heat in each creation. On the menu, featuring typical antojitos, tostadas, gringas and the famous tacos (don’t miss the tacos al pastor or the cauliflower tacos), you’ll also find bolder or more daring options like guacamole with insects or chicharrón (both dishes include larvae and crickets). Be sure to try one of their tequila cocktails!" - Michelin Inspector

"The Mexican-influenced project headed by Chef Ljubomir Stanisic (of One MICHELIN Star 100 Maneiras), which is as unstuffy as it is delicious." - The MICHELIN Guide

What a great place! Food was top notch, excellent drink selection. If you like whiskey try the Mexican whiskey. Chips and salsa/sauces were as authentic as you get. Service was great, just make eye contact and they’re at your table. Besides the food, the art alone is worth the visit. Reservations recommended.

Best tacos I ever had in my life. Period. Highest recommendation for the Shrimp Tacos, I had four (two initially and then ordered extra because it was so good). The pork tacos are also amazing, albeit spicy. I am in love. Service was impeccable. Friendly, fun and available servers who were actively looking at us in case we needed anything. (The only bad thing were the drinks. We had Margaritas and they were not great. Hard to believe a place this good would serve Margaritas almost at room temperature. We had to ask for ice cubes to be added to them and the taste was simply unremarkable)

The food was amazing. Michelin star quality (literally). And beautifully presented. The servers were all extremely nice . The food did take a little while but it was all worth it in the end. It’s a definite would recommend.

Awesome food, nice local wines, great service, I love the place. I travelled alone for a business trip for Lisboa, and had a great evening thanks to this restaurant. I ordered a cauliflower taco by accident, but what a happy accident. It was probably one of the best tacos I've ever had.

My Visit started with a short chat before being seated. The colleague at the welcome desk was a delight all the way. Friendly and well versed in the art of conversation. That cannot be said for the bar staff, yet they were also friendly. Although the way to the bathrooms is slightly confusing, I enjoyed the Interieur. Extra points for earthenware mugs, liked them a lot. I was going with 3 started instead of a main dish. The tuna tartar was lovely. Good texture, strong flavours. Unusual, but pleasant: What was marked as spicy, was actually spicy. My toast and tacos were not as clearly structured, yet I enjoyed the mixture of different flavours without being overloaded. Encouraged by the good experience so far, I ordered the churros. I love them, but more often than not they are a disappointment. The ones in CARNAL turned out to be good. Simple, but excellently done with good ingredients. Full recommendation.

Carnal in Lisbon is an absolute gem! This restaurant nails the perfect combination of exceptional food, expertly curated wine pairings, and an incredible atmosphere. The cuisine is spectacular – every dish crafted with precision and creativity, showcasing both Portuguese flavors and international influences. The quality and presentation exceeded all expectations. The wine pairings are perfection. The sommelier's expertise really shines, with each selection beautifully complementing the dishes and enhancing flavors you didn't know were there. What truly sets Carnal apart is their amazing music playlist. It's perfectly curated to match the evening's energy without overpowering conversation, creating the ideal backdrop that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. Bottom Line: Carnal isn't just dinner – it's a complete sensory experience. Outstanding food, thoughtful wine pairings, and killer vibes make this a must-visit spot in Lisbon's dining scene!

Restaurant started off on the right foot and the food service was originally very quick. However, for some reason when it came to the tacos, it took forever. My fiance was probably able to finish his food twice back to back. He even waited to see if my tacos would come and just ate his food cold because it took so long and it never came. At some point we just decided to cancel it and pay for the rest of the food that did come. When we brought the attention to the waiter, he kind of brushed it off and helped other customers with his back toward us. You can tell he was trying to get us to wait longer but at that point we were just completely done. And when we asked to cancel the tacos, they acted surprised about the whole thing. The chips were decent. Drinks were okay. Service could be better. I would skip this restaurant honestly. Nothing really stands out and I wouldn’t visit again because of the service.
