Fantastic little pub. We stopped here on the way to Bournemouth from Milton Keynes and the reviews are spot on. Every single element of all the dishes were cooked to perfection! Hats off to the chef and the staff for a lovely welcome and great service. If you live near by or are travelling past. Make sure you stop by. I'm a massive foodie and I'm really fussy when it comes to pub food. The quality of the food and the price are so well matched. Keep doing what your doing guys

It was lovely to revisit Carnarvon arms. We stayed here for more than a month 9 years ago. We have been well looked after and my fur baby enjoyed playing ball in beer garden. So many years passed and still the warm friendly service and delicious food.

Had a lovely ‘halfway’ catch up with friends here. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive without being around too much. We were a big table but the food all came out at once. We will definitely use this meet up location again.

This was a lovely lodge to stay at. My wife and I stayed one night here and enjoyed it very much. The food was fantastic and freshly put together. The cultural historic theme was fitting to the “country side” area. Staff was wonderful and proper to our accommodations. Rooms were newly renovated and quite nice. Located just down the street from the infamous Highclare castle attraction. Will most definitely stay here again.

We arranged a visit to Highclere Castle and decided to stay overnight at The Carnavon Hotel because of its proximity to the Castle which is just a few minutes drive away. An excellent choice as the pub part of the hotel was originally a coaching inn and the bedrooms were all renovated recently offering modern facilities and comfortable furnishing. Both dinner and breakfast served were top quality and reasonably priced and I have to say such pleasant professional staff throughout our stay. Highly recommended,

Visited on a Thursday... online menu is not update, which is fine, but then we were initially given one that was out of date too (and that was different from the online one too)... just 3 pieces of foccacia bread, which seems a little mean... the scallops were nicely cooked and tasty... my wife didn't think her fish was particularly fresh but it did have a good cyder batter on it... my steak was well cooked, however the £3 additional peppercorn sauce had all the hallmarks of a packet sauce rather than being freshly prepared (it was very dark rather than light brown in colour)... plus the sauce was very salty... given the food was pretty average for a pub, we didn't have a pudding... we are unlikely to go back for another meal... also they had the usual trick of putting loads of ice into my soft drink (and it was a mild evening)... service was average

Perfect base to visit family and to explore. The rooms have been refurbished and are very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our meal ( family of 5) was delicious. Excellent service from Ruben, Marianna & Nick.

Yelp
This has been one of the best pubs we've been to this far in Britain. Obviously due to its location, you would only likely stop here if you are visiting nearby Highclere Castle (assuming you are an international visitor). There are several dining rooms, with a larger one in what appears to be an annex. They must have tour groups that come through as they were clear about out needing to finish before a certain hour (that was fine with us as our tickets to Highclere Castle were for entry within the hour). There were a number of items on the menu that looked good. It's basically all traditional British pub fare. Since it was Sunday, I think there was a special roast menu. I opted for the daily pie (chicken and ham) and my partner got the trio of roasted meats. Both came with vegetables and huge roasted potatoes. He also got what looked like a popover, which I later found out was Yorkshire pudding. Service was good! The place has a very friendly atmosphere. Looks like it is a place the locals come for a pint or for a bite to eat.

Yelp
Average food, average service, slight above average prices. Staff are trying hard to cope in the pandemic era.

Yelp
A bit pricy but the food here at my local is very special. The service is friendly and professional with lovely staff. The atmosphere is very relaxing and is well worth considering for any special occasion. We have on several occasions put family and friends up in the overnight accommodation here and they have all enjoyed their stays. We will be using the Carnarvon Arms again.

Yelp
Seems a popular spot for Sunday lunch. The wine list does not worth mentioning, but that's usual in pubs of this sort. Food menu is common pub menu and quality is okay. Service is very friendly.

Yelp
Fantastic food and very good service. Although the menu seems pricey - wait till you taste the food and then you know why. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere in a lovely setting with plenty of choice. Sunday lunch can be busy but weekdays are great for a quiet leisurely lunch.
