Carnation Farms in Carnation, Washington, is a stunning wedding venue that combines rustic charm with modern elegance. As a wedding photographer, there were so many beautiful backdrops to choose from, from the open fields, to the fall foliage, and even mountain views on a clear day. The historic barn is both grand and inviting, providing a perfect space for dancing and lively receptions. Before my clients wedding day the staff here allowed me to scout the property to plan for the couples photos and I am so glad they did! We found the perfect spot for sunset photos, with trees lining the roadway as the golden hour glow lit up the trees golden foliage. This wedding was in the fall, but during the summer more of the garden is in bloom and there are so many gorgeous greenery backdrops throughout the property. Capturing love stories here is an absolute joy!

Our youngest son and his now-bride held their wedding recently at Carnation Farms over a three day span and I have only positive things to say about the experience. Not only is the site extensive and beautiful, the staff were wonderful: cheerful, helpful, and extremely competent. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding consideration. For us, the entire weekend was magical.

Love this place. Whenever we attended an event, I always came back happy. The views are amazing especially in the late afternoon/early evening.

This place is so special!! I hosted a Mother's Day retreat at CF over the weekend and it was AMAZING. Working with Olivia is a dream--she's thoughtful, communicative, and just a great support system from ideation through completion. And the farm is a treasure trove of unique buildings, gardens, forest paths, and meadows through which to wander. As someone who creates rest-centered programming, this regenerative operation is a perfect location; I hope to partner with Liv and the team again and again.

I love visiting this place. It's so peaceful, they sell great starts every year, and the people are so kind.

This venue is MAGICAL! Summer concerts and winter do not disappoint. This venue has provided my happiest memories dancing with my mother (AKA Tiny Dancer) who suffers mid/advanced Alzheimer's. Dancing to the fabulous music has brought so much joy! From the moment you see Carnation Farms you feel a sense of peace. Well worth a visit!

We hosted a mini yoga retreat this weekend at Carnation Farms and it was absolutely perfect! We worked with Olivia to organize the event and she thought of every single detail. There was plenty of parking, great communication, and all of our needs were met! We cannot wait to plan the next one at carnation farms again!

Carnation Farms is an iconic scenic stop. The farm stand has delicious sandwiches, bottled cold brew coffee and so much more! There are often elk in the field. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The new chef has made the farm stand options sooooo much better. It's nice to have delicious, healthy meal options in town. I just turned store bought raviolis into a beautiful spring pasta dish with their pea shoot pesto and asparagus with some peas. The sourdough, ranch dressing and butter bean hummus are also must try items. I also love all the local made items food/non-food. I have bought many gifts here.

Yelp
Went to Harvest Festival. Limited number of vendors and it's on a steep slope up to the Hippodrome. The space is upgraded with ceiling heaters. There was a booth for foods. Across the street, there is a farmer's stand. It's beautiful and serene. Would love to take a walk someday but probably not safe as the roads are narrow. Would like to see more vendors at this venue next time at the Harvest Festival. Easy parking. Would also like to see more options (drinks) or prepared foods already made at the Farm Stand (provide a microwave or something). It would be nice to have an outdoor covering with picnic tables overlooking the farm since you can see cows from afar.

Yelp
We came for an event- one of the summer concerts. Small bands - this was an Eagles tribute band. Let me arrived. We found parking near the road. I just had to walk up to the event. Up is an offer for it because of the hell is a little steep. I was impressed. They had people out there with parking directing cars where to park and they also had a van/shuttle to take people up the hill to the venue. Super organized. The grounds are so pretty and the day was perfect. We laid out blankets. I brought some comfy pillows and just relaxed. I would've taken more pictures, but people kept getting in my way. Lol They do not allow outside food or drink. We walked over to the trailer and the wine was pretty reasonably priced. We bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for 30 bucks and toasted a gorgeous day. This event had two food trucks at it and we went and bought some tacos because who doesn't love tacos. They were really good I just didn't get pictures because I was back at the blanket guarding the wine and I have no idea which food truck was used. Later, the band came on It was really a lot of fun. We had great people around us. We also had a lot of space if we could stretch out and relax I mean what else could you ask for beautiful day fantastic grounds, fun, music, wine, and tacos. We're doing another concert there next month and I am so looking forward to it

Yelp
A popular stop among motorcycle and cyclist. They offer a wide variety of drag grocery items. From farm to table. The drive is always enjoyable on a nice sunny day.

Yelp
A fabulous little farm stand! We stop by once a week to get their fresh made soups - one for that day and one frozen for another time. The soups are amazingly outstanding! There are layers of flavor within each bowl - something that I haven't ever had from other soups and even the ones I have made myself. They are soooo delish! But also, so are their biscuits, breads, pastas, and other fresh and frozen meals. Plus the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, informative and helpful! This is SUCH a find. Don't drive by - make it a point to stop in!

Yelp
Great parking great people some food trucks-maybe one or two. good music good wine, good beer if you'd like that non-alcoholic beverages available. Great place to sit on the lawn. Listen to music can't go wrong with free! You can park where the cows used to sleep and the shuttle will take a ride up to the front where the receptionist is waiting to check you in or you can have the shuttle to take you up the hill. The music last about two hours from 4 to 7. They take a break for an hour from 5 to 6. The shuttle will take you back to your car also or you can take the slight walk down the hill. You can probably get in without having tickets but make reservations online if you don't and I'm pretty sure you'll still be able to get in anyways, I would sit in the shade towards the back you can hear the music just fine enjoy give it a shot can't go wrong

Yelp
The farm stand is a cute grocery store with fresh produce, protein and a variety of small businesses who are allowed to sell there products there to support the community entrepreneurs. Last year they had yummy soft serve ice cream that included a dairy free option but they stated they no longer were doing it bc "the machine was a beast breaking down all the time". It's a bummer because it was tasty and not super expensive but understandable if it wasn't working properly. They now serve frozen ice creams from a variety of local WA businesses- just wish there were some more vegan choices besides the hemp option. We hadn't seen them at the Issaquah farmers market so we trekked out there to grab two Thai Basil and two Genovese basil plants for our garden. While there we restocked on our San Juan Island sea salt Popcorn Blend. If you haven't tried it get some it's super yummy on veggies! Tastes like it's got a cheesy flavor without the dairy! I've transplanted the basil plants and they look great in the garden.

Yelp
Came for music. No food is allowed and they only had one food truck that took over an hour to fill orders. My advice, eat before you come out have snacks in the car.

Yelp
Came to the Carnation Farms for the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch. It is located just a short drive down a narrow path from the public farmstand out on the main road. Admission is free and parking is free and plentiful. The pumpkin patch itself was about a quarter mile down from the main entrance. Along the way there were lots of cute animals (chickens, pigs, rabbits, sheep, etc.) you can get up close with, all of them seemed very used to human contact including the sheep which didn't move away even when being touched. There are electric fences in some areas so tread with caution and watch your kids. All in all had a great time here :)

Yelp
This review is for the "farm to table" experience I recently visited with my friend and fellow yelper Jason G for a weekend evening of farm food experience. I thoroughly enjoyed driving out to Carnation surrounded by greenery and a feel of country farm Excellent farm to table experience! Approximately 25 guests allowing opportunity to mingle and meet new people including some local winery makers featured at the dinner Dining experience under covered area on the farm with wait staff and a outdoor fire oven with featured chef. All the food locally sourced with neighboring plants meats wine. Each course was presented edu me on new ways I could think of eating Fantastic community dining for the summer! Well worth the money for the experience and great quality food

Yelp
Had the pleasure to volunteer here for United Way of King County's annual Day of Caring. The farm is a vast and beautiful sight while driving down the hill past the public farmstand. Our hosts were also friendly and gave a tour in the beginning to explain their non-profit organization. We were tasked with harvesting the squash and pumpkin in an entire acre, which would then be distributed to farmer markets and local restaurants. It was a lot of fun to rummage through the vines snipping off squash to load onto a wheelbarrow before gently washing them. By the end of the day, we had helped picked over 3.5 tons (7000 pounds) of cucurbits! In addition, we helped moved a turkey fence for the rafter to have a fresh plot of grass to graze. If volunteering, be smart about what you wear! I made the mistake of wearing short sleeves and ended up with a rash on both arms that lasted for a few weeks.

Yelp
I usually purchase plants here during their Spring Plant Sale and occasionally stop by the farmstand. The plants are healthy and have survived my black thumb for the several years I have been purchasing them from the farm. Bakery items from the farmstand are hearty. I prefer lighter scones and pastries as they seem to be rather doughy and like soft bricks. Have not tried their farm-to-table dinners as they are too expensive for us.

Yelp
Carnation farms is one of my favorite 'small grocery stores' to visit. It has a great variety of fresh produce, chef-quality preprepared frozen food, meats, wine/beer, ice cream, dairy, and more! Best of it all is everything is locally sourced and most items are reasonably priced for what you get. Definitely stop by if your in the snoqualmie valley.

Yelp
I cannot think of a better venue to host a meeting for your group or team. Cozy lodges with central gathering spaces promote team bonding and the grounds and gardens are second to none. The farm to table brick oven pizza dinner was a highlight particularly as it is served next to the garden where nearly all of the meal came from. The herd of 50 elk came bugling through after dinner as if on command. The staff go out of their way to ensure excellence at every step. Our group was 15 people from all over the country. The new farm stand is very well done and helps capture the history of Carnation Milk and the home of "contented cows". Many activities are available from a high ropes course, zip lining, hiking and even a farm to table meal prep class. https://youtu.be/F1GL4_Wsx4g for a comprehensive video

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem - I hadn't heard about it until their Christmas Market popped up on my Facebook feed! This large farm is positioned on the hillside giving sweeping views of the fields and pond below. They host events, from weddings to community events, and everything in between. They are able to accommodate large groups overnight and offer comprehensive food offerings, including allergen specific dining. The highlight of the farm's culinary program is the incorporation of farm grown food that is cared for by campers and staff throughout the year making for fresh farm to table cuisine. The only thing I wish is that they could accommodate overnights to visit the farm throughout the year, especially for adults. I'd love to get out there more!

Yelp
Carnation Farms is a hidden gem with over 800 acres of beauty. You won't see if from the street so you'll have to make sure you attend one of their events or go on their Historical Tour to see more of it! It's just stunning. As a Health Coach focused on family wellness, I volunteered at one of their kid's Farm Camps over the summer and got to see just how true they are to their mission of wanting to help change the way people see food and help change the food system that's making so many people sick. Carnation Farms offers so many opportunities for this to happen. They host many Farm-to-Table events, seasonal events and classes for kids and adults to learn about real, whole food to get them connected to it. They have a Growing Farmers program and a summer program for high schoolers that's an agriculture-based youth development and employment program. They have big plans to carry out their mission and I can't wait to see it all unfold! I'm thrilled to see that there's an organization out there helping to do this very important work.

Yelp
Attended a wedding here this past month and thought the grounds were beautiful and a great setting for a wedding. However, the staff seemed unprepared and often did not know what they were serving to guests. Additionally, raw chicken was served on the wedding night, absolutely no excuse for that. The on-site housing was in a condition similar to what you would expect from a super 8, dirty counters and sheets. Big improvements are needed to get this place living up to its potential.

Yelp
Had an amazing group tour with Farmer Rosy, so informative and fun! We toured vegetable gardens, tasted along the way. We visited chicken coop and collected freshly laid eggs, and we got to meet the teenage turkeys too! High recommend

Yelp
We've gone to the Farm Stand twice and were underwhelmed. The website seems to promise an abundance of locally grown produce. There were maybe five types of vegetables with very limited stock of each. The lack of selection could have been due to time of year, but low stock shouldn't have been. We bought some potatoes, asparagus and fresh chicken, all of which were high quality. The person at the register was very friendly and informative. That visit was a nice but disappointing visit. Yesterday, we returned to get another chicken. The website noted the stand was to open at 9AM. We arrived at 10. The doors were partly open and staff were moving inside, but it clearly wasn't open. My wife checked the website which noted we should call to verify hours as they might vary due to COVID. The automated response said nothing about hours and provided no option beyond returning to the website. This business isn't next door. In fact it's fairly remote. I get variable hours due to circumstances. But if you're going to vary hours, find some way to communicate them like changing the auto-answer response. We won't return.

Yelp
What an incredible venue! I hosted my wedding here for 500 people over 3 days and the event space and staff were so incredible! We had over 130 people stay on-site and all of them loved the accommodations. The staff was easy to work with, and made sure our time at the venue was perfect. I cannot recommend this space enough! I hear some celebrities have been married here! Don't ask me who though. You'll have to find out from the staff!

Yelp
Very disappointed with the over all cleanliness of the bridal party/family accommodations during a recent wedding we attended. Literally looked like it wasn't cleaned in years! The family style dinner for 200 people was horrible as well. Under cooked chicken AND fish!!

Shawn G.

Yelp
I hosted a large very expensive wedding at Carnation farms. The grounds are pretty and I loved the flowers by juniper they made the event But they rented us housing on site that was so filthy dirty and old it was embarrassing The carpets were filthy and we rolled them up to find inches of sand like dirt under them My grandkids had little bugs in bed I had to send out to get new bedding they had heavy dirty bedspreads on and the sinks were by the head of old beds not in the bathroom The kitchen had filthy throw rug full of grease and who knows what ! the trash was sitting outside the kitchen on deck which was never cleaned they never once seemed to care what filth they had us in the place was dark dirty old nothing you would ever want for a wedding it ruined our whole weekend being put in this filth I had to send out bridesmaid to purchase new bedding to just get thru the night I strongly suggest no one ever rent the facility do not believe what they say about new bedding ect ect worst than a 2 star hotel in the middle of Europe Sorry Carnation Farms but you really need to up your wedding venue even if it was free it sucked

Yelp
Scenic spot on a scenic drive and excellent wayside for bicycle touring. Nice farm stand has super fresh eggs & produce with competitive prices and a community feel.

Bette B.

Yelp
Attended a wedding there a few weeks ago. The setting is gorgeous. Unfortunately they were ill prepared to host a sit down dinner for 200 guests. Family style does not work for that number of guests. Long delays between dishes and the food was mediocre. Also we went into the main house and it definitely needs updating/cleaning. I hope they invest in their facilities because there is so much potential.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
They have a Farmstand open now, right off of NE Carnation Farm Road. They are open everyday from 10am-5pm in the winter and until 6pm during the summer, and they close one hour earlier on Sundays. You can find farm-fresh veggies, coffee, and soon-enough food prepared by their award winning chef. Such a beautiful and historic property out in the valley, I would highly recommend one of their farm-experiences: cooking classes, farm-to-table dinners, kids camps, field trips, farm education classes.

Amy C.

Yelp
So disappointed in Carnation Farms! From what should have been an easy weekend focused on a wedding seemed as if the brides family and bridesmaids were the ones having to make sure the grounds were clean and taken care of. We once never saw anyone from the event space taking care of the trash being collected, asking if we needed anything, cleaning up the facility or attending to the bugs that were found. Thank goodness that the generous bride's mother was kind enough to get the guests new bedding to ensure her family and guests were sleeping in big free linen. There needs to be a lot of updating to the homes as well as their facilities if they want to host large parties and weddings. Carnation Farms, it's time for you to step it up and make a change!

Jason B.

Yelp
We attended what was supposed to be a 5 star wedding last weekend only to be extremely disappointed by the Carnation Farms staff and their "farm to table" delivery. The staff was miserable - not one bartender or "server" smiled or looked remotely happy to be there. You would think at a wedding, the staff would be on their A game. The food itself was horrendous - overcooked and dry. What was supposed to be a family style approach turned into a disaster. Thankfully the beautiful night, setting, flower arrangement, and comfort of being around amazing family and friends made up for a horrendous job displayed by the venue itself.

Alex C.

Yelp
Dirty, rooms look like a funeral home. Bedding was dirty and beds as soft And old as the farm itself. Very disappointed, could be a nice place for events, but needs a lot of upgrades for that.
google avatar

Jamie O.

Yelp
I attended their Harvest Festival on Sunday, and it was super fun! There was a petting zoo with awesome and some unusual animals, crafts for kiddos, a fire pit for s'mores, a pumpkin patch, delicious food trucks, and some organic produce for sale! We even got an excellent guided historical tour by Sarah who's family founded Carnation Farms back in 1908! I highly recommend visiting for any future events they might have!

Mary D.

Yelp
We visited the farm stand on a recent Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to learn that there is a small museum there, telling the history of Carnation milk. They have a lot of special events coming up in the fall. It probably would be a fun place to take kids for a drive "out to the country," yet not very far from Seattle.
google avatar

Joanna H.

Yelp
I loved the Harvest Festival! Such a cute (but huge!) farm to bring your family to!

C C.

Yelp
Absolutely a lovely place with lots of fun crafts activities for kids, bicycle to ride on, tracker rides, apple squeeze, fun active petting animals, marshmallow fire pit, pumpkin patch, chicken coo ranch, paper airplane making station, and lots of sumptuous food. What else can a family ask for? Two-thumbs up!

Holly R.

Yelp
Had a Saturday brunch on the April 15 and enjoyed everything about it. The food was awesome and the history tour was very informational. Would love to attend next year!!
